According to the preparation method, the fructus gardeniae extract for the tobacco is prepared by adopting compound fermenting, solvent low-temperature extracting and molecular distillation refining, and is applied to reconstituted tobacco, so that the appearance colour and lustre of the reconstituted tobacco are more natural and uniform, and are close to those of high-quality tobacco; the pH value of smoke is reduced; aroma is enriched; stimulation and miscellaneous gas are reduced; the smoking taste is improved.
