Description

[0001] The invention relates to a motor vehicle roll bar according to the preamble of claim 1 and a motor vehicle with such a motor vehicle roll bar.

[0002] EP 2 366 572 A1 discloses a motor vehicle roll bar and a motor vehicle with such a roll bar. The roll bar comprises two essentially U-shaped brackets that define a free space for receiving a rear window. The rear window is inserted into a slot in the roll bar and can be detached from the roll bar. Because the rear window is inserted into a slot in the roll bar and can be detached from the roll bar, a leak develops between the window and the brackets of the roll bar, allowing moisture or water to enter the interior of the motor vehicle.

[0003] DE 10 2006 057 217 A1 discloses a motor vehicle roll bar according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0004] Based on this, the present invention is based on the object of creating a novel motor vehicle roll bar and a motor vehicle with such a motor vehicle roll bar.

[0005] This object is achieved by a motor vehicle roll bar according to claim 1.

[0006] The roll bar comprises a fixed structural component fixed to the body shell and a cover connected to the structural component. The pane is permanently connected to the cover, namely, it is glued to two U-shaped brackets of the cover. Gluing the pane to the brackets of the cover of the roll bar is particularly simple and advantageously eliminates the problem inherent in the prior art of leaks between the pane and the brackets of the roll bar.

[0007] Preferably, the two U-shaped brackets of the panel define a free space positioned between them for receiving the pane, with the bracket legs facing the free space defining an adhesive flange for the pane. In particular, the bracket legs facing the free space merge into one another at a lower section, forming a U-shaped adhesive flange for the pane. If the bracket legs facing the free space for receiving the pane define an adhesive flange for the pane, the pane can be bonded particularly advantageously and sealingly to the brackets, namely to the adhesive flange of the brackets.

[0008] Preferably, the pane is overmolded with a plastic material in sections along its edges, wherein the pane rests against the adhesive flange with the plastic overmold, and wherein on those sections of the adhesive flange facing away from a motor vehicle interior, where the pane does not rest against the adhesive flange with the plastic overmold, the pane is bonded to the adhesive flange via an adhesive. The plastic overmold defines a spacer between the pane and the adhesive flange, wherein on adhesive flange sections facing away from the motor vehicle interior, the adhesive is positioned in a free space defined by the plastic overmold between the adhesive flange and the pane.

[0009] On the one hand, this provides a particularly tight, permanent connection between the window and the brackets of the vehicle roll bar cover, and on the other hand, it ensures that adhesive points are not visible from the vehicle interior.

[0010] According to an advantageous development of the invention, a water guide channel is formed between the pane and the sections of the cover facing away from the vehicle interior, in particular to drain rainwater away from the cover in a defined manner. Rainwater collecting in the area of the vehicle roll bar can be safely drained away via the water guide channel, further improving the watertightness in the area of the pane.

[0011] The motor vehicle according to the invention is defined in claim 10.

[0012] Preferred developments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims and the following description. Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail, without being limited thereto, with reference to the drawings. Herein: Fig. 1 an exploded view of components of a motor vehicle roll bar according to the invention; Fig. 2 a perspective view of a cover of the motor vehicle roll bar according to the invention together with a disc attached to the cover; Fig. 3 a second perspective view of the aperture of the Fig. 2; Fig. 4 a detail of the representation of the Fig. 2; Fig. 5 a cross-section through the aperture of the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3; and Fig. 6 one to Fig. 5 parallel offset cross-section through the aperture of the Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 together with a roof segment.

[0013] The present application relates to a motor vehicle roll bar and a motor vehicle with a motor vehicle roll bar.

[0014] Fig. 1 shows a highly schematic exploded view of a motor vehicle roll bar 10, wherein the motor vehicle roll bar 10 comprises a fixed structural component 11 fixed to the bodyshell and a multi-part cover 12 which is connected to the structural component 11. The structural component 11 and the cover 12 each define two U-shaped bars 13 and 14 positioned next to one another, wherein a central part 15 of the cover 12, namely the bars 14 thereof, covers or conceals the bars 13 of the structural component 11 on a side of the motor vehicle facing a motor vehicle interior.

[0015] Between the two brackets 14 of the panel 12, namely the brackets 14 of the central part 15 of the panel 12, a free space 16 is formed, which serves to accommodate a pane serving as a rear window, which in Fig. 1 is not shown. However, the disc 20 is in Fig. 2 to 6 visible.

[0016] The free space 16 for receiving the disc 20 between the two brackets 14 is defined by mutually facing legs 17 of the U-shaped brackets 14 of the panel 12.

[0017] Side parts 19 of the cover 12 engage on oppositely facing legs 18 of the brackets 14 of the central part 15 of the cover 12 for lateral cladding or covering of the structural component 11.

[0018] Fig. 2 to 4 show details of the central part 15 of the cover 12 of the motor vehicle roll bar 10 according to the invention, namely in each case together with the pane 20 serving as the rear window, which is permanently connected to brackets of the roll bar 10, namely to the brackets 14 of the central part 15 of the cover 12.

[0019] The disc 20 is permanently connected to the two U-shaped brackets 14 of the panel 12, namely the central part 15 of the panel 12, namely by means of an adhesive bond.

[0020] As already explained, the two U-shaped brackets 14 of the cover 12 delimit the free space 16 formed between them for receiving the pane 20, wherein the legs 17 of the brackets 14 facing the free space 16 define an adhesive flange 21 for the pane 20, via which the pane 20 is adhesively bonded to the cover 12.

[0021] The legs 17 of the brackets 14 facing the free space 16 merge into one another at a lower section, forming a U-shaped adhesive flange 21 for the pane 20.

[0022] How best Fig. 4, the pane 20 is overmolded in sections with a plastic 22 on edges facing the adhesive flange 21, wherein the pane 20 rests against the adhesive flange 21 via this plastic overmold 22. The plastic overmold 22 forms a spacer between the adhesive flange 21 and the pane 20, wherein in sections facing away from a motor vehicle interior and in which a free space between the adhesive flange 21 and the pane 20 is defined via the plastic overmold 22, an adhesive 27 is positioned in order to bond the pane 20 to the adhesive flange 21 in a defined manner. The plastic overmold 22 prevents the adhesive from being visible from the motor vehicle interior.

[0023] Furthermore, an upper edge 23 of the pane 20 is overmolded with a plastic 24, whereby, however, the upper edge 23 of the pane 20 is not glued to the panel 12; rather, the upper edge 23, namely the plastic overmold 24 thereof, forms a sealing contour for a manually mountable and dismountable roof 25 of the motor vehicle. In the roof 25 (see Fig. 6) a sealing profile 26 is integrated into which the pane 20 can be inserted with its upper edge 23 or the plastic overmolding 24.

[0024] In the Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, which shows parallel longitudinal sections through the arrangements of the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 in the longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle, in addition to the plastic overmolding 22 of the pane 20, which serves as a spacer and rests on the adhesive flange 21, the adhesive 27 is also shown, via which the pane 20 is glued to the adhesive flange 21 of the panel 12 adjacent to the plastic overmolding 22.

[0025] The plastic overmoldings 22 and 24 are preferably made of polyurethane or ethylene-propylene-diene rubber.

[0026] How best Fig. 3, the upper edge 23 of the pane 12 or the plastic overmolding 24 thereof is aligned with a contour 28 of the panel 12, wherein the contour 28 together with the plastic overmolding 24 of the upper edge 23 of the pane 20 forms a sealing contour against which the roof 25 of the motor vehicle comes into sealing contact.

[0027] How best Fig. 3, the pane 20 bonded to the panel 12, together with sections of the panel 12 facing away from the vehicle interior, defines a guide channel 29 for guiding and draining water, in particular rainwater.

[0028] Rainwater collecting in this area can be drained away from the aperture 12 via the guide channel 29, whereby, as Fig. 3 and Fig. 5 can be removed, a recess 30 is made in the aperture 12 in the transition area of the two legs 17, through which water collecting in the area of the guide channel 29 can escape from the guide channel 29 and thus be drained away.

[0029] The roll bar 10 according to the invention therefore has a structural component 11 fixed to the body shell and a cover 12 fastened to the structural component 11, wherein the pane 20 of the roll bar 10 serving as the rear window is permanently connected to the cover 12 of the roll bar 10 by adhesive bonding. The cover 12 forms the adhesive flange 21 for bonding the pane 20 to the cover 12, namely in a free space between legs 17 of brackets 14 of the cover 12, wherein the pane 20 serving as the rear window can be positioned in this free space 16.

[0030] The cover 12 is preferably a component made of visible carbon.
