Abstract
Description
Technical area
[0001] The technical solution falls within the field of construction and concerns the modification of the design of the window frame or sash in order to improve the thermal insulation properties of the windows and to facilitate the installation and removal of window panes in case they need to be replaced or are damaged or broken. State of the art
[0002] In connection with the improvement of thermal and sound insulation properties, multi-glazed windows are now widespread. Their window frames or sashes consist of a supporting profile into which glass panes are installed, equipped with a glazing bead that secures the panes against falling out. The design of the supporting profile depends on the overall dimensions of the window, the number of glass panes used, and the climatic conditions to which the window will be exposed. It is logical that there are significant differences in the design of the window frame or sash for windows in buildings located in the mountains or by the sea.
[0003] The supporting profile of the window frame or sash, including the opening part, is usually designed as a multi-chamber profile, which significantly improves the overall thermal insulation properties of the window. Its surface is shaped and adapted for the attachment of sealing and spacer elements, which are another essential component of this structural unit. Glazing beads are available in various designs, and their configuration depends on the overall design of the glazing system. Examples of window frames and sashes with glazing beads are known, for example, from CZ285989, CZ286262, CZ2009622A3, CZ21344U1, CZ25258U1, CZ25358U1, DE102012001352, EP2514905, EP3051052, or EP3109393.
[0004] A common disadvantage of known solutions is the fact that the glazing bead is usually chemically or adhesively bonded to the glass panes, which causes significant complications when replacing the window panes, as in many cases the glazing bead is damaged during disassembly and must be replaced with a new one. Another problem is the impossibility of using window fittings in the form of handles or, due to the small size of the glazing bead, the limited ability to fully open the window sash due to contact with the reveal in the built-in building. In any case, the interior surfaces of the bead require thorough cleaning, which is labor- and time-consuming and increases the cost of repair.
[0005] The aim of this solution is to present a modification of the design of the window frame or window sash, which simplifies and accelerates the seamless replacement of the window pane without compromising the strength and insulating properties of the entire window. Subject of the technical solution
[0006] This objective is achieved by a technical solution consisting of a window or sash frame comprising a shaped support profile, a glazing bead arranged along the inner lateral surface of the support profile, and a spacer, in which at least two glass panes are removably arranged and sealed. The solution essentially consists in the glazing bead consisting of a flat strip, the upper part of which is bent at 90° to form the connecting arm, and the lower longitudinal part of which is provided with an inwardly directed longitudinal compression projection, while the connecting arm is provided with a series of fixing holes along its entire length, and the flat strip is chamfered at a 45° angle at both lateral ends.
[0007] In an advantageous embodiment, a fastening element, which preferably consists of double-sided adhesive tape, is inserted between the inner surface of the strip of the glazing bead and the inner side surface of the support profile.
[0008] The present solution achieves a new and higher effect by allowing the glazing bead to be used not only when installing new window frames as part of a complete window replacement, but also when repairing windows, without having to change or modify the supporting profile of the window frame or sash and without restricting full use when opening the window sashes. Explanation of the drawings
[0009] Concrete examples of the technical solution are shown schematically in the attached drawings: Fig. 1 is an axonometric view of the corner part of the window frame with the sectional view of the plastic support profile and the glazing bead, Fig. 2 is a cross-section of the window frame from Fig. 1, Fig. 3 is an axonometric view of an alternative embodiment of the corner part of the window frame of Fig. 1 with the sealing tape inserted between the support profile and the glazing bead, Fig. 4 is a cross-section of the window frame from Fig. 3, Fig. 5 is a cross-section of the corner part of the window frame made of Fig. 3 using the spacer block, Fig. 6 is an axonometric view of an alternative embodiment of the corner part of the window frame with a wooden supporting profile, Fig. 7 is an axonometric overall view of the window frame with the glazing bead attached, Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 are side views of the embodiments of the glass retaining strips of Fig. 2 and Fig. 4.
[0010] The drawings illustrating the technical solution presented, as well as the examples of specific implementations described below, do not in any way limit the scope of protection specified in the definition, but merely explain the subject matter of the technical solution. Examples of the technical solution
[0011] The window frame in the basic version for windows with two glass panes 1 consists of the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, consists of a molded plastic support profile 2, the inner cavity of which is divided into a series of insulating chambers 22 by differently aligned reinforcing ribs 21, a glazing bead 3 arranged along the inner side surface 23 of the support profile 2, and a spacer 4 to compensate for the different heights of parts of the surface of the lower surface 24 of the support profile 2, in which it is fastened by a flexible pin (not marked). To ensure a perfect fit and seal with the other parts of the window frame and the glass panes 1, the support profile 2 is provided with an additional row of sealing elements 5 in standard design. The glazing bead 3 consists of a flat strip 31, the upper longitudinal section 32 of which is bent into a connecting arm 33, whereby the strip 31 is L-shaped.The lower longitudinal part 34 of the glazing bead 3 is provided with an inwardly directed longitudinal pressure projection 35, which ensures perfect adhesion of the glazing bead 3 to the outer surface of the glass pane 1. The connecting arm 33 is provided along its entire length with a series of fixing holes 36 for the passage of unmarked fixing elements such as screws, rivets, pins, which establish a detachable connection between the supporting profile 2 and the glazing bead 3. Finally, the glazing bead 3 is chamfered at an angle of 45° at both ends, so that the flat strips 31 can be joined together, e.g. welded or glued, to form the connection shown in . Fig. 7 to form the closed square full frame shown.
[0012] These in Fig. 1 and Fig. The embodiment of the window frame described in Figure 2 is not the only possible technical solution to the problem, but as can be seen from the illustrations in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, in order to increase the adhesion of the support profile 2 and the glazing bead 3, it is possible to insert a fastening element 7, e.g. a double-sided adhesive tape, between the inner side surface 23 of the support profile 2 and the inner surface of the strip 31 of the glazing bead 3, which prevents the penetration of moisture and dirt at the contact surfaces of the two parts. Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 shows that the design and shape of the pressure projection 35 of the glazing bead 3 can vary depending on the overall construction of the window frame and the type of sealing elements 5 used. Finally, the design of the support profile 2 and the spacer 4 can also be different, as shown, for example, in Fig. 6 when using the wooden support profile 2. Finally, the spacer 4 can be supplemented by a spacer block 6, as shown in Fig. 5. The supporting profile 2 can be shaped differently depending on the type and size of the window frame or sash, and its internal cavity can be divided into a different number of insulating chambers 22. Industrial applicability
[0013] This technical solution for modifying the structure of the window frame is intended for the replacement or repair of window panes inserted into window frames or window sashes in order to facilitate the installation and removal of window panes, minimize the likelihood of damage to the glazing bead and enable its seamless reuse, with the possibility of unrestricted use of the window sash opening by means of a handle or other locking means.
