Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present application relates to a vehicle rear structure. BACKGROUND

[0002] A rear bumper made of resin is provided as a rear exterior member at the rear of a vehicle. The rear bumper is integrally mounted to the lower end of a panel of the rear of a vehicle body main member by clamping, screwing, or the like.

[0003] A rear exterior member such as a rear bumper is a component that occupies a large area of the rear of a vehicle body, and thus its shape has a large influence on vehicle design. In recent years, from the demand for vehicle design, a rear exterior member having a shape in which the side surface on the vehicle width direction outer side is inclined downward toward the vehicle width direction inner side has been developed (for example, refer to Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2020-142543).

[0004] In the case where the side surface on the vehicle width direction outer side of the rear exterior member is inclined toward the vehicle width direction inner side, depending on the inclination angle thereof, there can be a conflict with a regulation that the rotating portion (wheel and tire) of the running device in the prescribed height range cannot protrude more outward than the vehicle body portion directly above in the vehicle width direction. As a countermeasure therefor, a structure is known in which a separate protective member is installed at a specific portion of the side surface on the vehicle width direction outer side of the rear exterior member (a portion that becomes more inward than the vehicle width direction outer surface of the wheel and tire of the rear wheel in the prescribed height range), and the end portion of the protective member is located at a position more outward than the vehicle width direction outer surface of the wheel and tire of the rear wheel.

[0005] In the case of this countermeasure, the protective member is directly installed to the edge portion of the rear exterior member by adhesion or screwing. SUMMARY

[0006] However, in the case where the protective member is directly installed to the edge portion of the rear exterior member by adhesion or screwing, since the edge portion of the rear exterior member is a portion that is easily deformed, it is difficult to ensure sufficient support rigidity of the protective member. The edge portion of the rear exterior member is a portion that is separated from the fixed portion where the vehicle body main member is fixed, and thus the assembly position accuracy of the protective member with respect to the vehicle body main member is easily reduced.

[0007] The present application is a vehicle rear structure that can improve the support rigidity of the protective member and improve the assembly position accuracy of the protective member with respect to the vehicle body main member.

[0008] In order to solve the above problem and achieve the object, the present application adopts the following scheme.

[0009] (1) : The vehicle rear structure of one aspect of the present application includes a vehicle body main member, a rear exterior member attached to a rear portion of the vehicle body main member, a protection member attached to a vicinity of a specific portion of an end portion of the rear exterior member on an outer side in a vehicle width direction so as to protrude toward the outer side in the vehicle width direction, and a spacer member fixed to the vehicle body main member and the protection member.

[0010] According to the above aspect, the protection member is attached to the vehicle body main member via the spacer member. Thus, the support rigidity of the protection member is improved. The protection member is attached to the vehicle body main member via the spacer member, and thus the assembly position accuracy of the protection member with respect to the vehicle body main member is improved.

[0011] (2) : In the aspect of (1) above, the spacer member can include a displacement restriction portion that extends to a position on an inner side in the vehicle width direction of the portion of the protection member that protrudes toward the outer side in the vehicle width direction, to restrict displacement of the portion on the inner side in the vehicle width direction.

[0012] In this case, when a load is applied to the portion of the protection member that protrudes toward the outer side in the vehicle width direction from the outside, the displacement restriction portion of the spacer member receives the load at the position on the inner side in the vehicle width direction of the portion. As a result, displacement of the portion of the protection member toward the inner side in the vehicle width direction is restricted.

[0013] (3) : In the aspect of (1) above, the spacer member can include a recessed portion that is recessed concavely toward the outer side in the vehicle width direction, and a pair of leg portions that extend toward the outer side in the vehicle width direction from upper and lower positions sandwiching the recessed portion, at least one of the pair of leg portions extending to a position on an inner side in the vehicle width direction of the portion of the protection member that protrudes toward the outer side in the vehicle width direction.

[0014] In this case, the recessed portion is provided between the pair of leg portions of the spacer member, and thus the rigidity of the spacer member in the vehicle width direction can be ensured by the pair of leg portions, and the spacer member can be made lightweight by the recessed portion.

[0015] (4) : In the aspect of (3) above, the protection member can include a coupling wall disposed on an inner side of the recessed portion of the spacer member, the coupling wall being fixedly coupled to an inner surface of the recessed portion.

[0016] In this case, the coupling wall of the protection member is fixedly coupled to the inner surface of the recessed portion, and thus loads applied to the protection member from multiple directions can be received by the inner surface of the recessed portion of the spacer member. Thus, in the case where this structure is employed, deformation and shaking of the protection member can be suppressed.

[0017] The protection member is fastened and joined to the inner surface of the recess of the spacing member, so that the head of the fastening member can not protrude outward of the spacing member in the vehicle width direction, and the axial length of the fastening member can be shortened.

[0018] (5) In the aspect of (4) above, the recess forming block portion that forms the recess of the spacing member can include a guide slope that guides the end portion of the joining wall of the protection member in the direction of the recess when the joining wall is assembled into the recess.

[0019] In this case, when the joining wall of the protection member is assembled into the recess of the spacing member, the end portion of the joining wall slides on the guide slope, so that the joining wall can be easily arranged in the recess. Therefore, the operability of fixing the protection member to the spacing member is improved when the structure is adopted.

[0020] (6) In the aspect of (5) above, the guide slope can be formed by the end surfaces of a plurality of support walls that cross in a grid pattern.

[0021] In this case, the guide slope is composed of the end surfaces of a plurality of support walls, so that the sliding resistance of the guide slope can be further reduced, and the spacing member can be lightened.

[0022] (7) In the aspect of (1) above, a stop flange that is bent inward and extends in the vehicle up-down direction can be formed near the specific portion of the end portion of the rear exterior member on the vehicle width direction outside, a stop hole can be provided at the upper end portion of the rear exterior member near the specific portion, a stop protrusion that is inserted into the stop hole can be formed at the upper end portion of the protection member, a screw fixing portion that is screw-fixed to the stop flange can be provided at the lower end portion of the protection member, and a stop groove that engages with the stop flange can be formed in the intermediate region between the upper end portion and the lower end portion of the protection member.

[0023] In the case of installing the protection member to the rear exterior member, the stop protrusion on the upper end side of the protection member is inserted into the stop hole of the rear exterior member, and the stop groove of the protection member engages with the stop flange of the rear exterior member, and in this state, the screw fixing portion on the lower end side of the protection member is screw-fixed to the stop flange. Thus, the protection member is installed to the rear exterior member in a state where it is restricted from falling in multiple directions.

[0024] (8) In the aspect of (7) above, a protrusion portion that has a higher protrusion height than other portions can be provided at a part of the length direction of the stop flange, and a displacement restriction portion that restricts the up-down direction displacement of the protection member by embedding the protrusion portion can be provided at a part of the stop groove.

[0025] In this case, by fitting the protruding portion of the locking flange into the displacement restriction portion, the up-and-down movement of the protection member with respect to the rear exterior member can be suppressed.

[0026] (9) In the aspect of (7) above, the protection member can be such that the locking groove is positioned on the vehicle width direction outer side by the locking flange, and the locking protrusion is positioned on the vehicle width direction inner side by the locking hole.

[0027] In this case, the protruding amount of the protection member with respect to the specific portion on the vehicle width direction outer side of the rear exterior member can be managed with high precision. The movement of the protection member in the vehicle width direction can be suppressed.

[0028] According to the aspect of the present application, the protection member is mounted to the vehicle body main member via the spacer member, so the support rigidity of the protection member can be improved by the spacer member, and the assembly position precision of the protection member with respect to the vehicle body main member can be improved. [0036] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present application will be described based on the drawings. An arrow FR directed forward of a vehicle, an arrow UP directed upward of the vehicle, and an arrow LH directed to the left side of the vehicle are noted on appropriate portions of the drawings.

[0037] Figure 1 is a view of the rear portion of the vehicle 1 of the embodiment from the vehicle rear side.

[0038] A rear panel 2, which is a metal plate (a vehicle body main member) of the rear portion of the vehicle body, is provided at the rear portion of the vehicle 1. A trunk door opening 4 in which a trunk door 3 that is openable and closable is provided is provided in the rear panel 2. A resin-made rear bumper 5 is attached to the lower end of the rear panel 2. The rear bumper 5 extends so as to straddle the lower side of the trunk door opening 4 in the vehicle width direction. The end portion 5a of the side edge portion (the front return portion) on the vehicle width direction outer side of the rear bumper 5 is curved so as to be inclined downward and to the vehicle width direction inner side in the vehicle rearward view.

[0039] A resin-made diffuser 6 is attached to the central region in the vehicle width direction of the lower end portion of the rear bumper 5. In the embodiment, the rear bumper 5 and the diffuser 6 constitute a rear exterior member.

[0040] A resin-made protection member 7 is attached to a specific portion P of the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5 on the vehicle width direction outer side in such a manner that a part of the protection member 7 protrudes outward in the vehicle width direction from the specific portion P. The specific portion P of the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5 is a portion of the end portion 5a that is inward in the vehicle width direction from the vehicle width direction outer side surface of the wheel or the tire within a prescribed height range. By attaching the protection member 7 to this specific portion P, a part of the protection member 7 is positioned outward in the vehicle width direction from the vehicle width direction outer side surface of the wheel or the tire.

[0041] Figure 2 is a perspective view of the rear bumper 5 together with the protection member 7 and a spacer member 8 described later, which are removed from the vehicle body, and is viewed from the vehicle front side. Figure 3 is Figure 2 is a III view of Figure 4 is a perspective view of the rear bumper 5 alone, which is the same as Figure 2 . Figure 5 is a perspective view of the rear bumper 5 in a state in which the protection member 7 is attached to the rear bumper 5, which is the same as Figure 2 .

[0042] Hereinafter, the side on which the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5 on the vehicle width direction outer side shown in Figure 4 is positioned will be referred to as the "width direction outer side", and the opposite side thereof will be referred to as the "width direction inner side". The upper end side of the end portion 5a on the vehicle width direction outer side will be referred to as the "bumper upper portion side", and the opposite side thereof will be referred to as the "bumper lower portion side". The curved wide surface (the return surface) of the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5 that is exposed to the vehicle outer side shown in Figure 4 will be referred to as the "bumper return surface". Figure 4The hidden side of the face is called the "appearance face," and its opposite side is called the "appearance face." Figure 4 The side that can be seen from the center is called the "back side", and the curved, wide wall that forms the exterior side and the back side is called the "bumper main wall 20".

[0043] like Figure 2 , Figure 5 As shown, the protective member 7 is installed on the back side (towards the inward side in the vehicle width direction) near a specific portion P of the end 5a on the outer side of the rear bumper 5 in the width direction. The protective member 7 is integrally molded from resin material. The protective member 7 includes a columnar wall 10 extending vertically in a manner that is approximately along the end 5a on the outer side of the rear bumper 5 in the width direction, a base wall 11 extending from the columnar wall 10 toward the inward side in the width direction, a locking protrusion 12 that bends upward from the upper end side of the base wall 11, and a fastening connecting flange 13 provided on the lower end side of the base wall 11, and a threaded fixing portion 15 on the fastening connecting flange 13 into which a screw 14 for fixing is screwed in from the outer side in the width direction.

[0044] On the columnar wall 10, there are continuously formed along the vertical direction, facing outwards from the vehicle. Figure 5 The locking groove 16 has an opening on the inside of the paper. The locking groove 16 is continuously formed from one end (upper end) to the other end (lower end) along the length direction of the columnar wall 10. However, a displacement limiting hole 17 (displacement limiting part) is formed in a portion of the bottom of the locking groove 16 (the upper part of the columnar wall 10). The displacement limiting hole 17 is formed in a generally rectangular shape that extends along the length direction of the columnar wall 10.

[0045] In this embodiment, the displacement limiting part is formed by a hole that passes through the bottom of the locking groove 16, but the displacement limiting part may also be formed by a recess that does not pass through the bottom of the locking groove 16.

[0046] The base wall 11 is formed into a flat plate shape, and when the protective member 7 is installed on the rear bumper 5, the base wall 11 abuts against the back side of the main wall 20 of the bumper. Hereinafter, the side of the base wall 11 that abuts against the main wall 20 of the bumper is referred to as the "back side", and the side opposite to it is referred to as the "surface".

[0047] A connecting wall 18 protruding in a direction substantially orthogonal to the base wall 11 is provided on the surface of the base wall 11. The connecting wall 18 continuously extends in a mountain shape (substantially U shape) when viewed in a direction rising from the base wall 11. Both end portions of the extending direction of the connecting wall 18 are connected to the columnar wall 10. In a state where the protection member 7 is installed to the rear bumper 5, a central region of the extending direction of the connecting wall 18 is directed toward the width direction inner side and is opposed. This portion becomes a fastening connecting portion 18a fastened to the spacer member 8 described later by a screw 19. The connecting wall 18 is reinforced by a plurality of reinforcing ribs 50 that combine the base wall 11 and the connecting wall 18.

[0048] As shown in Figure 4 the rear bumper 5, an upper end flange 21 bent toward the back surface direction is provided at an end portion of the bumper main wall 20 on the bumper upper portion side and extends in the vehicle width direction outer side. A locking hole 22 or the like in which the locking protrusion 12 on the upper end side of the protection member 7 is fitted is formed in the upper end flange 21. The upper end flange 21 is butted against a not-shown fixing flange of the lower end of the rear panel 2 that is a vehicle body main member, and is fixed to the fixing flange by a not-shown clamping member or the like.

[0049] An locking flange 24 bent toward the back surface direction is provided at an end portion of the bumper main wall 20 of the rear bumper 5 on the width direction outer side and extends. The locking flange 24 is formed so that the protruding height is lower in a region corresponding to a specific portion P of the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5 as a whole, and is higher than the protruding height of the region on the lower side than the specific portion P of the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5. Hereinafter, the region of the locking flange 24 in which the protruding height is lower as described above will be referred to as a "low position region 24l", and the region in which the protruding height is higher as described above will be referred to as a "high position region 24h". A protruding portion 25 of a substantially trapezoidal shape having a protruding height higher than that of the other portions of the low position region 24l is provided at a portion on the upper end of the low position region 24l.

[0050] The fastening and connecting flange 13 of the protection member 7 abuts against a portion of the high position region 24h of the locking flange 24 adjacent to the low position region 24l from the width direction inner side. A penetration hole 26 through which the screw 14 for fastening and connection passes is formed at this portion. The fastening and connecting flange 13 of the protection member 7 is fixed to the high position region 24h of the locking flange 24 by the screw 14.

[0051] The locking groove 16 formed on the columnar wall 10 of the protective member 7 engages with the low-position region 24l of the locking flange 24. The protective member 7 is restricted from displacement in the width direction by engaging with the locking flange 24 (low-position region 24l) through the locking groove 16 of the columnar wall 10. At this time, the protrusion 25 protruding from the low-position region 24l is inserted into the displacement limiting hole 17 of the columnar wall 10. The vertical displacement of the protective member 7 (columnar wall 10) relative to the rear bumper 5 is restricted by the engagement of the protrusion 25 with the displacement limiting hole 17.

[0052] The protective member 7 is restricted from outward displacement in the width direction by abutting against the low region 24l of the locking flange 24 through the inner wall of the locking groove 16 in the width direction, and its inward displacement in the width direction is restricted by abutting against the locking hole 22 through the inner side of the locking protrusion 12 in the width direction. Therefore, the protective member 7 is restricted from excessive protrusion outward in the width direction and from being pulled in when pressed from the outside.

[0053] The upper locking protrusion 12 is inserted into the locking hole 22 of the rear bumper 5, and the locking groove 16 of the columnar wall 10 is engaged with the lower region 24l of the locking flange 24. In this state, the fastening connecting flange 13 is fixed to the upper region 24h of the locking flange 24 by screws 14, thereby installing the protective member 7 near a specific part P at the end 5a of the rear bumper 5. When the protective member 7 is installed in this way near the specific part P of the rear bumper 5, the outer end of the columnar wall 10 in the width direction protrudes outward from the specific part P at the end of the rear bumper 5 in the vehicle width direction.

[0054] A spacer member 8 is mounted from below on a fixed flange (not shown) at the lower end of the rear panel 2. The spacer member 8 is a block of a predetermined volume formed of resin material. When the rear bumper 5, on which the protective member 7 is fixed, is mounted on the rear panel 2, the spacer member 8 is also fixed to the inner portion of the protective member 7 in the width direction.

[0055] like Figure 2 As shown, the spacer member 8 has: an upper edge block portion 8a extending along the upper edge of the rear bumper 5; and a recessed forming block portion 8b connected to the outer portion of the upper edge block portion 8a in the vehicle width direction. The upper edge block portion 8a and the recessed forming block portion 8b are integrally formed from resin material. The spacer member 8 has a predetermined thickness, and the upper end face of the upper edge block portion 8a is fixed to the fixing flange at the lower end of the rear panel 2 by a spiral rivet 40 or the like. With the spacer member 8 fixed to the rear panel 2, a gap opening outward is ensured between the upper end face of the spacer member 8 and the fixing flange of the rear panel 2. The upper edge flange 21 of the upper bumper side of the rear bumper 5 is inserted into this gap.

[0056] The recessed block portion 8b of the spacer member 8 is provided with: a recessed portion 27 recessed in a concave shape toward the width direction outer side; and a pair of leg portions 28a, 28b extending from upper and lower positions sandwiching the recessed portion 27 toward the vehicle width direction outer side. When the protective member 7 is fixed to the spacer member 8, the fastening link portion 18a of the link wall 18 of the protective member 7 is disposed within the recessed portion 27 of the recessed block portion 8b. In this state, the fastening link portion 18a abuts against the inner surface of the recessed portion 27 and is screwed into the inner surface of the recessed portion 27 by the screw 19. The leg portion 28a of one of the recessed block portions 8b extends to a position inside the vehicle width direction of the portion (lower side region of the columnar wall 10) of the protective member 7 that protrudes toward the vehicle width direction outer side of the specific portion P in this state.

[0057] In the present embodiment, the leg portion 28a of one side constitutes a displacement restriction portion that restricts displacement of the portion of the protective member 7 that protrudes toward the inside of the vehicle width direction.

[0058] Figure 6 is a perspective view of the assembled state of the spacer member 8 and the protective member 7 with the rear bumper 5 removed, Figure 7 is Figure 6 a VII view of

[0059] A guide slope 29 that slopes toward the thickness direction inside of the recessed block portion 8b from the vehicle width direction inside region of the recessed portion 27 toward the recessed portion 27 is formed on the side surface of the recessed block portion 8b that faces the bumper main wall 20 of the rear bumper 5. When the link wall 18 of the protective member 7 is assembled into the recessed portion 27, the guide slope 29 is able to guide the end portion of the fastening link portion 18a of the link wall 18 to slide in the direction of the recessed portion 27 from the vehicle width direction inside region of the recessed portion 27. The guide slope 29 is formed by the end surfaces of a plurality of support walls 30 that cross in a grid shape.

[0060] <Installation of Rear Bumper and Protective Member>

[0061] The rear bumper 5 and the protective member 7 are installed on the vehicle as follows.

[0062] At the specific portion P of the rear bumper 5, as Figure 5The protection member 7 is fixed as shown. At this time, the locking protrusion 12 of the upper end side of the protection member 7 is inserted into the locking hole 22 of the rear bumper 5 side as described above, and the locking groove 16 of the cylindrical wall 10 is engaged with the low position region 24l of the locking flange 24 of the rear bumper 5 side, and the fastening and linking flange 13 of the lower end side is fixed to the high position region 24h of the locking flange 24 of the rear bumper 5 by the screw 14. At this time, a rotational torque acts on the protection member 7 by the screwing of the screw 14, but since the locking protrusion 12 of the upper end side of the protection member 7 is engaged with the locking hole 22, the rotational linkage of the protection member 7 is suppressed.

[0063] On the other hand, the spacer member 8 is pre-installed to the fixing flange of the lower end of the rear panel 2 by a spiral rivet 40 or the like.

[0064] Next, from this state, the rear bumper 5 to which the protection member 7 is fixed at the specific portion P is positioned at the lower end of the rear panel 2, and the linking wall 18 of the protection member 7 is disposed in the recessed portion 27 of the spacer member 8 (the recessed block portion 8b). The rear bumper 5 is fixed to the rear bumper 5 by clamping or the like in this state. The protection member 7 fixes the fastening and linking portion 18a of the linking wall 18 to the recessed portion 27 of the spacer member 8 by the screw 19.

[0065] As described above, the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment installs the protection member 7 to the vehicle body main member (the rear panel 2) via the spacer member 8, and thus can improve the support rigidity of the protection member 7 by the spacer member 8, and can improve the assembly position accuracy of the protection member 7 with respect to the vehicle body main member (the rear panel 2).

[0066] In the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment, the leg portion 28a of the spacer member 8 extends to a position inside the vehicle width direction of the portion of the protection member 7 that protrudes outside the vehicle width direction at the specific portion P, and functions as a displacement restriction portion that restricts displacement of the protruding portion of the protection member 7. Thus, when a load acts on the protruding portion of the protection member 7 from the outside, the leg portion 28a as the displacement restriction portion receives the load, and it is possible to restrict displacement of the protruding portion inside the vehicle width direction.

[0067] In the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment, the recessed portion 27 that is concave toward the outside of the vehicle width direction is provided between the pair of leg portions 28a, 28b of the spacer member 8. Thus, it is possible to ensure the rigidity of the spacer member 8 in the vehicle width direction by the pair of leg portions 28a, 28b, and it is possible to achieve weight reduction of the spacer member 8 by the recessed portion 27.

[0068] The vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment is configured such that the protective member 7 has a coupling wall 18 disposed inside the recessed portion 27 of the spacer member 8, and the fastening coupling portion 18a of the coupling wall 18 is fastened and coupled to the inner surface of the recessed portion 27. Thus, the load acting on the protective member 7 from various directions can be received by the inner surface of the recessed portion 27 of the spacer member 8. Therefore, in the case where the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment is employed, the deformation and the shake of the protective member 7 can be suppressed. Also, in the present structure, the protective member 7 is fastened and coupled to the inner surface of the recessed portion 27 of the spacer member 8, so that the head of the screw 19 can be prevented from protruding outward in the vehicle width direction beyond the spacer member 8, and the axial length of the screw 19 can be shortened.

[0069] Also, in the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment, the guide slope 29 is formed on the recessed block portion 8b of the spacer member 8, and the end portion of the fastening coupling portion 18a of the coupling wall 18 can be guided in the direction of the recessed portion 27 when the coupling wall 18 of the protective member 7 is assembled into the recessed portion 27. Thus, when the coupling wall 18 of the protective member 7 is assembled into the recessed portion 27 of the spacer member 8, the end portion of the fastening coupling portion 18a of the coupling wall 18 is caused to slide on the guide slope 29, so that the coupling wall 18 can be easily disposed in the recessed portion 27. Therefore, in the case where the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment is employed, the workability when the protective member 7 is fixed to the spacer member 8 can be improved.

[0070] In the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment, the guide slope 29 is formed by the end surfaces of the plurality of support walls 30 that are intersected in a grid pattern, so that the sliding resistance of the guide slope 29 can be further reduced, and the weight of the spacer member 8 can be reduced.

[0071] In the vehicle rear structure of the present embodiment, the locking flange 24 is provided in the vicinity of the specific portion P of the end portion 5a of the rear bumper 5, and the locking hole 22 is provided in the upper end portion of the rear bumper 5. Also, the locking protrusion 12 that is inserted into the locking hole 22 is provided in the upper end portion of the protective member 7, the threaded fixing portion 15 that is threadedly fixed to the locking flange 24 is provided in the lower end portion of the protective member 7, and the locking groove 16 that is engaged with the locking flange 24 is provided in the intermediate region between the upper end portion and the lower end portion of the protective member 7. Thus, in the case where the structure of the present embodiment is employed, the protective member 7 can be mounted to the rear bumper 5 in a state where the protective member 7 is restricted from falling in various directions.
