Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a package comprising a container having side walls intersecting at corners, a bottom and an upper opening, and a lid for closing the upper opening of the container. Technical Field

[0002] The field of the invention is that of plastic packaging, which is usually obtained by injection molding a lid and a container and fitting them elastically to each other. Background Art

[0003] A package is known in the prior art, wherein the container and the lid respectively have a first engaging portion located at the upper opening of the container and a second engaging portion located at the periphery of the lid for elastic engagement with each other.

[0004] The first engaging portion of the container comprises an outward edge extending on the periphery, and the second engaging portion of the lid has an inward edge arranged on the skirt of the second engaging portion, which itself is hooked under the outward edge of the container to ensure that the lid is locked on the container.

[0005] The outwardly facing edge of the container and the inwardly facing edge of the lid both have curved corner portions at the corners where the side walls intersect, the curved corner portions connecting the side portions of the corresponding edges.

[0006] In this prior art, the lid is installed and locked onto the container by applying force, typically by a jack actuator that presses the center of the lid so that a first engaging portion engages a second engaging portion until the inward-facing edge of the lid passes over the outward-facing edge of the container. The interengaging surfaces between the two edges prevent the lid from being removed.

[0007] Removal of the cap is typically performed by the end user and may be difficult for some individuals or even require the use of a tool such as a screwdriver to remove the cap from the container.

[0008] However, such packaging is known from the prior art to be equipped with a functional part of the lid and / or the container itself, which facilitates the removal of the lid.

[0009] European Patent Document EP0110859 discloses one solution, which consists in providing a foldable skirt portion on the lid, hinged to a folding region at one of the curved corner portions of the outward-facing edge, for example, hinged to a flexible hinge at the top of the second joint portion of the lid. The foldable skirt portion can be folded from a joined position to an outward position, so that the central portion of at least one corner portion of the inward-facing edge is deflected away from the outward-facing edge of the upper opening under the action of a lever, and thus the joint between the inward-facing and outward-facing edges is weakened at the central portion.

[0010] In the engaged position, the foldable skirt portion is separated from the rest of the skirt by two grooves formed in the outer surface of the skirt and extending downwardly in the folding region to the lower edge of the skirt, the grooves reducing the thickness of the skirt wall so that the skirt can be broken along the grooves to allow the foldable skirt portion to be folded from its engaged position to its outward position.

[0011] This type of solution, which includes a foldable skirt, greatly facilitates opening the lid at the most demanding position (i.e., the corner) by weakening the connection between the lid and the container at this corner, and advantageously incorporates an opening indicator function, i.e., the two separable grooves are irreversibly broken after the skirt portion is lifted. In European patent document EP0110859, the inward edge is carried by the foldable skirt portion and is located below the flexible hinge between the foldable skirt portion and the second joint. However, as disclosed in European patent document EP2523866, the inward edge can be provided above the flexible hinge so that the edge is not cut when the foldable skirt portion is lifted, and the seal between the lid and the container can be maintained after the first opening.

[0012] One drawback of this type of packaging is that, particularly during transportation, for example when stacked on a pallet, impacts can cause the foldable skirt portion to lose support underneath and fold unexpectedly. In this case, the two grooves separating the skirt and the foldable skirt portion break, indicating that the package is open. In the case of high-value products, the end customer may discover that the detachable groove, which serves as an opening indicator, has broken during transportation and decide to reject the package, resulting in significant financial losses.

[0013] The applicant has proposed in French patent document FR1854484 to solve this problem by rationally positioning the external vertical ribs as stacking distances:

[0014] - Thus, each of these external ribs extends vertically below the first joint of the container (with the outwardly facing edge) and has a flat portion at its lower end for abutting engagement with the upper edge of the opening of the container in which the container is stacked: the main function of such vertical ribs is to ensure a constant stacking distance between the two containers when they are stacked on each other,

[0015] - However, it is worth noting that, as proposed in French patent FR1854484, these external ribs are advantageously located at the corners of the container, each rib extending from its lower end reasonably to the height of the foldable skirt portion, and in the joined position: this position of the vertical external ribs, close to and below the foldable skirt portion, or even forming an inclined surface therewith, advantageously constitutes an obstacle that limits the risk of accidental opening of the foldable skirt portion, preventing it from being pressed under the skirt portion in the event of an uncontrolled operation, in the event of an inadvertent pressure which could accidentally occur, until it folds and the groove constituting the opening indicator is accidentally broken.

[0016] According to the applicant's discovery, positioning the outer ribs perpendicular to the foldable skirt portion can reduce the number of accidental openings during transportation and delivery, as well as the number of breakages of the detachable grooves that serve as opening indicators. However, even though the probability of accidental opening of the opening indicator is greatly reduced, it is still not zero. This is the first problem addressed by the solution proposed in this disclosure.

[0017] Furthermore, the inventors have discovered that such opening indicators are not always completely reliable: by maintaining the foldable skirt in its engaged position, the lid can still be detached from the container, that is, without lifting the container and thus without cutting the two detachable grooves. For example, typically, the lid can be detached at the corner by pressing firmly below the skirt with one hand to apply a force to disengage the lid, while the other hand radially restrains the skirt toward the container to prevent the grooves from being cut. This allows the lid to be detached without breaking the detachable grooves. It is also known in the prior art to double the edges hooked at the corners, with another pair of edges facing outward and inward, engaging and hooking with each other, respectively, on the first and second engaging portions of the container, thereby increasing the hooking portion at the corners. The inventors have discovered that providing two pairs of mutually hooking edges at the corners still does not prevent fraudulent opening, as the elasticity of the plastic can still be exploited to detach the lid without breaking the detachable grooves. This is the second problem addressed by the present disclosure, at least in one embodiment. Summary of the Invention

[0059] The accompanying drawings and the following description mainly contain content of a certain nature. Therefore, they can not only serve to better understand the present disclosure, but also help to define it if necessary.

[0060] The invention relates to a package 1 comprising a plastic container 2 having side walls 20, 21, 22, 23 meeting at a corner 24, an upper opening 25 and a bottom 26, and a lid 4 for closing the upper opening of the container.

[0061] The side walls 20, 21, 22, 23 may be generally diverging, forming truncated pyramids therebetween, configured so that the containers may be stacked within the same container.

[0062] The upper opening 25 of the container 2 is provided with a first engaging portion 27 having an outward edge 28 extending on the periphery. The peripheral portion of the lid 4 is provided with a second engaging portion 40 which is folded downward and extended and has an inward edge 41 which can be hooked under the outward edge 28 of the container.

[0063] In addition, Figure 4 In the cross-sectional view of FIG, it can be seen that the first engaging portion 27 passes through the downwardly opening recess of the second engaging portion 40. The first engaging portion 27 includes an inverted U-shaped portion, which includes a first length portion extending the inner wall upward, followed by a second length portion inclined relative to the first portion, for example, horizontal, and then a third length portion inclined relative to the second portion and extending downward, the third portion having an outward edge 28.

[0064] Moreover, in Figure 4 As can be seen from the cross-sectional view of FIG, the second engaging portion 40 forms a recess opening downward to accommodate the first engaging portion 27. The second engaging portion 40 includes an inverted U-shaped portion, which includes a first length portion extending the upper wall of the cover upward, followed by a second length portion inclined relative to the first portion, for example, horizontal, and then a third length portion inclined relative to the second portion and extending downward to form a skirt 42, the third portion having an inward edge 41.

[0065] The second joint portion of the lid thus has a skirt 42 extending at the bottom of the second joint portion 40, and the outward edge 28 of the container and the inward edge 41 of the lid 4 both have curved corner portions 29, 43 at the intersection of the side walls, which connect the side portions of the corresponding edges.

[0066] At least one curved corner portion 43 of the inward edge 41 is provided with a foldable skirt portion 44, which is hinged to the top folding area 46 of the second joint 40, and the second joint can be folded from the joint position P1 to the outward position, so that the central portion of the at least one corner portion of the inward edge 41 is deviated from the outward edge 28 of the upper opening under the action of leverage, and thus the joint between the edges 28 and 41 is weakened at the central portion.

[0067] Such a foldable skirt portion facilitates removal of the cover by the user and does not require the use of tools such as screwdrivers: the weakening is simply achieved by offsetting the foldable skirt portion 44 outwardly relative to the remainder of the cover around the folding area 46 .

[0068] According to one embodiment, the foldable skirt portion 44 is separated from the rest of the skirt in its joined position by two grooves 45 formed in the outer surface of the skirt and extending downwardly in the folding zone up to the lower edge of the skirt: said grooves 45 reduce the thickness of the skirt wall, making it possible to break the skirt along the grooves, so as to fold the foldable skirt portion from its joined position P1 to its outward position. These grooves 45 constitute opening indicators after irreversible breaking.

[0069] According to the present disclosure, the container includes a receiving portion 7 at the foldable skirt portion 44 of the lid 4, which together with the shell 70 forms a protective cover for the free end E1 of the foldable skirt portion 44, and the shell accommodates the free end E1 of the foldable skirt portion 44 at the engagement position P1.

[0070] according to Figures 7 to 11 The embodiment in the view of FIG. 1 shows such a receptacle 7 in detail.

[0071] The receiving portion 7 is advantageously configured to prevent the foldable skirt portion 44 from folding toward the outward position when the free end E1 of the foldable portion is received in the housing 70. During packaging and transportation, even if the curved corner portion is subjected to impact during transportation or improper support due to transportation, the receiving portion acts as a protective shield to prevent the skirt portion from accidentally folding outward due to improper support, thereby preventing the groove 45 serving as the opening indicator from being broken.

[0072] The receiving portion 7 is also configured to be deformed by an operator to release the free end and allow the foldable skirt portion 44 to pivot from the engaged position P1 to the outward position.

[0073] Therefore, and in order to remove the cover, the operator first deforms the housing 7 so as to free up the possibility of pivoting the foldable skirt portion 44 about the folding zone 46, and then folds the foldable skirt portion; folding it from the joint position P1 to the outward position in order to weaken the connection at this corner. In the case of a plurality of foldable portions at various corners of the container, the operator performs these two operations successively for each corner 24.

[0074] like Figure 8 As shown, typically, the housing may include a front wall 71, which extends in an overlapping manner in front of the free end of the foldable skirt portion 44 at the engagement position P1, the free end skirt of the foldable skirt portion 44 being located between the corner 24 and the front wall 71, and the front wall 71 constituting a stopper that prohibits the foldable skirt portion 44 from folding toward the outward position.

[0075] The front wall 71 is configured to be deformed to the retracted position PE by the operator, specifically as follows Figure 8 This releases the free end and allows the foldable skirt portion 44 to pivot from the engaged position P1 to the outward position, as shown in dashed lines.

[0076] The front wall 71 may be integrally connected to its longitudinal ends by material bridges 75, which connect the longitudinal ends of the front wall 71 to the side walls or corners of the container, respectively. These material bridges 75 may take the form of vertical ribs.

[0077] A groove 72 that reduces the thickness of the front wall 71 may be provided at one of the longitudinal ends of the front wall 71 and configured to break due to separation from the longitudinal ends of the material bridges when the front wall 71 is deformed to the retracted position PE.

[0078] After deformation in the retracted position PE, the groove 72 is broken, but preferably the front wall 71 always abuts the container body, for example through the other longitudinal end of the front wall 71 and / or through a portion of the bottom wall 24 .

[0079] According to one embodiment, advantageously and from Figure 9 It will be understood that the connection portion 27 of the container with the outwardly facing edge 28 extends and is elongated below an edge referred to as the first edge and is terminated below the first edge by a second edge 30 also facing outwardly.

[0080] The housing 70 that accommodates the free end of the foldable skirt portion 44 may include a rear wall 73, whose upper end is specifically connected to the second edge 30, and the rear wall 73 is connected to the front wall 71 through a bottom wall 74, and the bottom wall connects the lower end of the rear wall 73 and the lower end of the front wall 71.

[0081] from Figure 8 It will be appreciated that the portion comprising the front wall 71, the rear wall 73 and the bottom wall 74 forms a U-shaped portion of the housing 70 that accommodates the free end E1 of the foldable skirt portion 44 in the engagement position P1.

[0082] As can be understood from the figure, the free end of the foldable skirt portion 44 can have a curved profile along a plane parallel to the cover. The housing 70 of the receiving portion 7 has a curved track in length, which follows the curved profile of the free end of the foldable skirt portion 44.

[0083] According to an advantageous embodiment, the housing 7 extends over the entire length of the free end of the foldable skirt portion 44. This housing 7 thus forms a shield against improper support, advantageously over the entire length of the free end of the foldable skirt portion 44.

[0084] According to the present invention and in particular, when the first engaging portion 27 of the container with the first outward edge 28 extends and stretches below the first edge and is terminated by the second edge 41 below the first edge, the foldable skirt portion 42 may have at least one lug 47 .

[0085] The at least one lug 47 faces inwards. In the engagement position P1 of the foldable skirt portion 4, the at least one lug 47 is able to hook under the second outwardly facing edge 30 of the first engagement portion, at least when an external force acts on the lid to disengage it.

[0086] It is noteworthy that the hooking of the at least one lug 47 on the second edge 30 is achieved at the joining position P1 of the foldable skirt portion, only in a local area, along the curved portion of the second outward edge 30: the lug 47 extends along the length of the second edge 30 only on a portion of the second edge 30: for example, the lug extends along the second edge, on the curved corner portion, for less than 1 / 3 of the second edge dimension 30, or 1 / 5 of the length of the second edge.

[0087] It is worth noting that the hook overlap portion Rac2 between the at least one lug 47 and the mutual engaging surface of the second edge 30 is larger in the radial direction of the curved portion of the second edge 30 than the hook overlap portion Racl between the mutual engaging surfaces of the inward edge 41 and the first outward edge 28 in the radial direction of the curved portion of the first edge 28.

[0088] Hooking overlaps Rac2 and Rac1 in Figure 9 As an example, it can be seen in FIG. 4 : It can be seen that the hooking overlap Rac2 between the lug 47 and the second edge 30 is much larger than the hooking overlap Rac1 between the inward edge 41 and the outward edge 28 .

[0089] Moreover, in the event of an attempted fraudulent opening, even supposing that the inward edge 41 detaches from the first edge 28, the at least one lug 47 always hooks onto the second edge 30 due to the smaller hooking overlap Rac1, due to the larger hooking overlap Rac2: as an example, the hooking overlap Rac2 between the at least one lug 47 and the second edge 30 is at least twice as great as the hooking overlap Racl between the mutual engaging surfaces of the inward edge 41 and the first outward edge 28.

[0090] Thus, only by folding the foldable skirt portion 44 and advantageously with a displacement amplitude that forces the rupture of the groove 45 is it possible to disengage the at least one lug 47 from the second edge 30. The reliability of the opening indicator is thus significantly improved.

[0091] Therefore, it can be seen that the size of the inward-facing lug 47 is much larger than the size of the inward-facing edge 41. Therefore, the foldable skirt portion 42 of the lid 4 can have a through-recess 48, which extends above and perpendicular to the at least one lug 47 and along the height of the foldable skirt portion 44. The purpose of this recess is to facilitate the demolding of the injection-molded lid during the manufacturing process: otherwise, the larger size of the inward-facing lug required to hook the overlapping portion Rac2 would make demolding cumbersome, or even impossible without special mold settings.

[0092] As can be seen, this through-cut recess 48 indirectly weakens the foldable skirt portion 44: moreover, this recess extends only in the area necessary to facilitate demoulding, that is, it is at least perpendicular to the lug 47, which itself extends over a relatively small portion along the corner portion 43 and which can limit the size of this recess. Ultimately, a compromise is achieved between the ease of manufacture achieved during injection molding and the resistance to hooking between the foldable skirt portion and the container at this corner.

[0093] like Figure 7 As shown, the through recess 48 starts from its bottom, extends from the at least one lug 47 to the folding area 46 between the foldable skirt portion 44 and the top of the second joint 40 , and extends only along the length of the lug 47 .

[0094] At the joining position P1 of the foldable skirt portion, and as Figure 9 As shown, when no external force is applied to the lid, there is no hooking between the inward edge 41 and the first outward edge 28, and there is a gap J between the second outward edge 30 and the at least one lug 47 located below the second edge 30: only when the lid is subjected to force, such as a force that causes the lid 4 to detach, or a heavier load on the lid, such as when the packages according to the present invention are superimposed (stacked) on each other, the lug 47 is in hooking contact with the second edge 30.

[0095] It can also be seen that the hooking of the at least one lug 47 below the second edge is performed in a local area Z without the rear wall, as shown in FIG. Figure 11 Therefore, the rear wall 73 may extend discontinuously along the curved path of the housing 70 while leaving one or more local areas Z to allow one or more lugs 47 to overlap and hook onto the second edge 30 .

[0096] Thus, this embodiment with lugs 47 further improves the stacking resistance of the package, more specifically, the strength of the lid of the lowest package in the stack. Under the weight of the stack, conventional packages can experience detachment of the lid and denting through the container opening. This embodiment achieves even better dent resistance through the hooking of the at least one lug. In this case, at least one lug 47 and at least one foldable skirt portion can be provided at each corner of the package.

[0097] According to Figure 9In one embodiment shown, the foldable skirt portion 44 is provided with the at least one lug 47 and the inward edge 41, both of which are located below the folding region 46, in the engagement position P1 of the foldable skirt portion 44: when the foldable skirt portion 44 is lifted from its engagement position P1, the inward edge 41 is thereby severed. Alternatively, and as described in European patent document EP2523866, the inward edge 41 may be located above the folding region 46, so that the lifting of the foldable skirt portion does not cause the inward edge 41 to be severed, thereby maintaining the sealing properties of the lid after the first opening.

[0098] According to one embodiment shown, the container includes four side walls that intersect at four corners, and the inward edge 41 of the lid has four curved corner portions 43 and is provided with four foldable skirt portions 44, each of which has at least one lug 47 that can be hooked onto the second outward edge 30 of the container. The at least four lugs 47 ensure that the lid is securely hooked onto the four corners of the container, which further enhances the hook connection between the lid and the container.

[0099] First from Figure 2 As can be seen in FIG, at the curved corners, the hooking can optionally always be reinforced at the corners due to the presence of two lugs 47 on each foldable skirt portion 44. According to this embodiment, a general measure can be to double the lugs 47 on each corner.

[0100] Advantages and disadvantages of the first embodiment

[0101] The one or more foldable skirt portions 44 are each protected from accidental opening by a housing 7, the housing housing 70 of which retains the free end of the foldable skirt portion, for example over the entire curved length of the free end E1.

[0102] Only after the housing 70 is deformed, in particular the front wall 71 in the retracted position PE (in which the front wall no longer constitutes a stop preventing the foldable skirt portion from folding toward the outward position), is it possible to fold each foldable skirt portion 44 from its engagement position P1 (preventing removal of the cover) toward the outward position (facilitating removal of the cover).

[0103] Advantageously, any accidental folding of the skirt portion 44 and the resulting breaking of the grooves 45 acting as opening indicators between the foldable skirt portion and the skirt 42 is prevented or at least greatly limited: these grooves 45 cannot be broken accidentally.

[0104] The presence of lugs 47 , at least according to one embodiment, and in particular on the four curved corner portions 43 , firstly significantly improves the reliability of the opening indicator, forcing the user to break the groove 45 in order to release the lugs 27 from the second edge 30 .

[0105] The present disclosure can also improve the stacking resistance of the packages, more specifically the strength of the lid of the lowest package in the stack: under the effect of the weight of the cylindrical stack, when the skirt portion is provided with lugs 47 .

[0106] Other improvements

[0107] It is also worth noting that it can be seen that the peripheral wall 49 of the lid that directly extends the second joint 40 can include vertically protruding support ribs 50, which are located along the edge of the lid, on the side portion between the curved corner portion 43 where the inward edge 41 of the lid hooks the outward edge 28 of the container, and are located below the lid and point outward.

[0108] The characteristic of these supporting ribs 50 is that they advantageously form a plurality of supporting elements Ap, which are located on the inner surface of the container side walls 20, 21, 22, 23 and distributed on the container periphery on the side portions of the edges 28, 41 between the curved corner portions 43. These supporting elements Ap advantageously strengthen the hooking between the curved corner portions 43, on the side portions of the edges 28, 41, and along the edge of the lid.

[0109] When the packages are stacked on lids of the same package, the lid is advantageously kept well hooked to the container due to the presence of the lugs 47 on the foldable skirt portions 44 at the corners on the one hand and the support ribs 50 along the edge between the corners on the other hand, without the ribs 28, 41 over the entire circumference of the lid being detached from the lid, that is to say not only at the corners but also along the edge between the corners.

[0110] like Figure 5 As shown, the second engaging portion 40 forms a recess G that opens downward to accommodate the first engaging portion 27. The second engaging portion 40 includes an inverted U-shaped portion, including a first length portion extending the upper wall of the lid, including a peripheral wall 49 extending through the central horizontal wall of the lid, followed by a second length portion inclined relative to the first portion, for example horizontal, and then a third length portion inclined relative to the second portion and extending downward to form a skirt 42, the third portion having an inward edge 41.

[0111] The peripheral wall 49 extends the second joint portion 40 by connecting the second joint portion with the horizontal wall of the cover. Figure 5As shown, the peripheral wall 49 can be inclined relative to the central horizontal wall of the lid, for example, at an angle α between 30° and 70°, particularly between 45° and 70°. This wall 49 descends from the second joint 40 toward the horizontal wall. When the lid is secured to the container (engaged via the hooking ribs 28 and 41), the peripheral wall 49, together with the side walls 20, 21, 22, and 23, defines a recess G that opens toward the lower surface of the lid 4 and extends over the inner periphery of the container. It can also be seen that support ribs 50 extend within this recess G to support members Ap on the inner surfaces of the side walls 20, 21, 22, and 23. These supports prevent the peripheral wall 49 from closing from beneath the load during stacking. This advantageously prevents deformation that could cause the U-shaped portion of the second joint 40 to open, which would facilitate the disengagement of the edges 28 and 41 along the edges. This advantageously ensures that the package edge is better maintained along the hooking angle between the edges 28 and 41.

[0112] The density of the support ribs 50 along the edge of the cover 4 between the two curved corner portions 43 is greater than the linear density of the support ribs 50 on the tip portions of the side portions close to the curved corner portions 43 on both sides of the median line.

[0113] Each support rib 50 may be triangular in shape, with its largest side 51, referred to as the first side, abutting the peripheral wall 49. A second side 52 of the triangle is generally horizontal and faces the continuation of the horizontal wall of the lid, particularly its lower surface. A third side 53 forms a support area on the inner surface of the container. It can also be seen that the third side 52 has a longer portion that forms a support element Ap on the inner surface of the container's side wall, and a shorter portion with a lip that prevents it from pressing against the side wall. The angle formed between the second side 52 and the third side 53 is advantageously rounded. This avoids sharp angles that could damage the contents or even puncture the flexible bag used to package the container's contents.

[0114] like Figure 6 As shown, the lid 4 may further include alignment ribs 54, which protrude from the periphery of the lid, extending inward relative to the second engaging portion 40, and extending upward relative to the horizontal wall of the lid. The alignment ribs 54 are distributed along the inner periphery of the second engaging portion 40, thereby accommodating the bottoms of identically packaged containers stacked on the horizontal wall of the lid in an aligned manner. The alignment ribs, together with the bottoms of the side walls of the stacked containers, form a stop to ensure they are centered on the lid.

[0115] The supporting rib 50 may be a rib located, at least partially, in the extension of the adjustment rib 54 relative to the peripheral wall 49 ; the supporting rib 50 and the adjustment rib 54 are coplanar in pair.

[0116] Each adjustment rib 54 extends in height from the horizontal wall of the cover to above the bottom of the second engaging portion 40 and extends inwardly from the second engaging portion 40 to the horizontal wall while partially covering the horizontal wall of the cover.

[0117] like Figure 6 As shown, each alignment rib 54 abuts the remainder of the lid at a first edge 55 along the horizontal wall, at a second edge 56 along the inclined peripheral wall 49, and at a portion of the height of the second joint along a third edge 57. In conjunction with the support ribs 50, these alignment ribs 54 can help limit the force transmitted to the second joint under load.

[0118] According to one embodiment, the first joining portion 27 of the container extends below the outward edge 28, and the second joining portion 40 extends below the inward edge 41 on the side portion between the curved corner portions in the middle local area along the edge of the container through the first clamping device 6 and the second clamping device 8 engaged with each other.

[0119] The first and second clamping means cooperate only in the middle region and reinforce the hooking connection between the edges 28, 41. The first clamping means 6 may include at least one opening 60, for example, two openings, and the second clamping means may include elastically deformable teeth 80 configured to be elastically inserted into the opening by hooking therewith. As shown, both the opening and the teeth may be doubled.

[0120] These devices 6, 8 can strengthen the lid and make it hookable to the container via the edges 28, 41, especially when the container is subjected to large loads, such as the load of the package resting on the lid. The load-bearing capacity of the lid is increased, especially when the packages are stacked on each other.

[0121] On two opposite side walls, the shoulder with the container first joint opening 80 extends downwards through wings 9f, which form the sideways protruding handles of the container side walls. The package can be lifted by these two handles Pg protruding laterally from the two side walls of the container.

[0122] It should also be noted that the container may have external ribs N extending below the first joint 27. Thus, each of these external ribs N extends vertically below the first joint 27 of the container (with the outwardly facing edge 21). Each external rib N has a flat portion at its lower end, adapted to come into abutment with the upper edge of the opening of the container in which the container is stacked: as described in the French patent application FR 1 854 484 filed by the applicant, the main function of such vertical external ribs N is to ensure a constant stacking distance between two containers when they are stacked on top of each other.

[0123] These ribs N can be provided at the corners and extend vertically below each receiving portion 7, at least to the height of the receiving portion 7. Two ribs N can be provided below each receiving portion. These ribs N can also be provided to form a handle Pg, connecting the wing 9 and the juxtaposed side wall 20 or 33.

[0124] As shown, vertical ribs can advantageously be provided between the housing 7 and the corner wall, which is perpendicular to the zone Z without rear wall: these can in particular be ribs N as stacking distances, either alone or in combination with supplementary ribs NS, in particular of smaller vertical dimensions, such as Figure 12 and 13 shown.

[0125] The position of these ribs, in particular the position of the ribs N (alone or in combination with the supplementary ribs NS), can prevent the lug 47 from being fraudulently removed from between the second edge 30 in the gap between the receiving portion 7 and the corner wall (i.e., without the need for the skirt portion 44 to be folded and the groove 45 serving as the opening indicator to be broken). This can further improve the reliability of the opening indicator.

[0126] Of course, other embodiments of the present invention may be employed without departing from the scope of the present invention as defined in the following claims.
