Extrusion die and method for manufacturing a spheroidal green part

Abstract

The invention relates to an extrusion die (3) for producing a spherically shaped green body (1) by further processing a pre-compacted spherically shaped pressing body (2), wherein the extrusion die (3) has at least one first extrusion die block (31) of metal and a second extrusion die block (32) of metal, and each of the extrusion die blocks (31; 32) has a recess which is shaped, wherein the recesses together constitute a spherical cavity (30) for receiving the pre-compacted pressing body (2). Each extrusion die block (31; 32) has a first die region (311; 321) around the area of its recess and a second die region (312; 322) outwardly around the first die region (311; 321), wherein the first die region (311; 321) has a higher elasticity relative to the second die region (312; 322), such that a cavity (10) provided in the first die region (311; 321) which can be placed under pressure by means of a fluid allows the metal material to expand under the condition that the cross section of the cavity (10) in the first die region (311; 321) is increased, such that the spherical cavity (30) of the extrusion die (3) can be reduced, so that an omnidirectional pressure can be applied to the pre-compacted spherically shaped pressing body (2).
