TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present application relates to a recording device. BACKGROUND
[0002] Conventionally, various recording devices have been used. For example, Patent Literature 1 discloses a recording device provided with a medium housing portion that houses paper before recording by a recording head, and a discharge tray that is provided on an upper side in a gravity direction of the medium housing portion and that places paper after recording by the recording head.
[0003] Patent Literature 1: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2016-179899
[0004] It is desirable to make the recording device used conventionally, such as a device that records exclusively photographs, as small as possible. In such a recording device, it is particularly desirable to be small in the gravity direction. However, in the structure of the conventional recording device, a structure member that houses a pre-recording medium before recording and a structure member that houses a post-recording medium after recording are each constituted, and thus the device structure cannot be made efficient. Also, when viewed in the gravity direction, the structure member that houses the pre-recording medium and the structure member that houses the post-recording medium are disposed at overlapping positions. Therefore, if the structure of the conventional recording device is to be made small in the gravity direction, the number of recordable media decreases. SUMMARY
[0005] The recording device of the present application for solving the above problem is characterized by being provided with: a recording portion that records on a medium; a main body portion that is provided with the recording portion; and a medium housing portion that is detachable with respect to the main body portion and that houses the medium, the medium housing portion having: a first region that houses a pre-recording medium among the medium before recording by the recording portion; and a second region that houses a post-recording medium among the medium after recording by the recording portion. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0020] First, the present application is described in outline.
[0021] The recording device of the first aspect of the present application for solving the above problem is characterized by comprising: a recording section that performs recording on a medium; a main body that is provided with the recording section; and a medium housing section that is detachable with respect to the main body and houses the medium, the medium housing section having: a first region that houses a pre-recording medium that is among the medium and before recording by the recording section; and a second region that houses a post-recording medium that is among the medium and after recording by the recording section.
[0022] According to the present aspect, the medium housing section has a first area that houses a pre-recording medium and a second area that houses a post-recording medium. In this way, by being configured so that the medium housing section can house both the pre-recording medium and the post-recording medium, the device structure can be made efficient. Thus, the device can be made less bulky in the gravitational direction and the number of storable media can be increased.
[0023] The recording device of the second aspect of the present application is characterized in that, in the first aspect described above, the medium housing section has the first area and the second area at positions that do not overlap when viewed from the gravitational direction, and the medium housing space of the first area overlaps the medium housing space of the second area in the gravitational direction.
[0024] According to the present aspect, the first area and the second area are disposed at positions that do not overlap when viewed from the gravitational direction, and the medium housing space of the first area overlaps the medium housing space of the second area in the gravitational direction. By being configured in this way, the device structure can be made particularly efficient. Thus, the device can be made less bulky in the gravitational direction and the number of storable media can be increased particularly.
[0025] The recording device of the third aspect of the present application is characterized in that, in the first or second aspect described above, the medium housing section is attached to the main body by being inserted in an insertion direction from an opening provided in the main body, and has a shutter cover at a rear end in the insertion direction that can be opened and closed in a state of being attached to the main body, the shutter cover can hold at least a portion of the medium in an open state, and can close the opening in a closed state.
[0026] According to the present aspect, the medium housing section has a shutter cover that can hold at least a portion of the medium in an open state and can close the opening in a closed state. By the shutter cover serving as a holding space for the medium in the open state, the device can be made less bulky in a direction that intersects the gravitational direction in the closed state. Furthermore, by being configured in this way, the opening can be closed in the closed state, and thus, the intrusion of foreign matter such as dust into the main body from the opening can be suppressed.
[0027] The recording device of the fourth aspect of the present application is characterized in that, in the third aspect described above, the medium housing section has the first area at a front end in the insertion direction, and has the second area at a rear end in the insertion direction, and the shutter cover can hold at least a portion of the post-recording medium in the open state.
[0028] According to the present embodiment, the medium accommodating portion has a first region on the front end side in the insertion direction and a second region on the rear end side in the insertion direction. With this configuration, the user can take out the recorded medium from the recording device without detaching the medium accommodating portion from the main body portion. That is, the operability of the user can be improved.
[0029] The recording device of the fifth aspect of the present application is characterized in that, in the third aspect described above, there is provided: a conveying portion that conveys the medium in a conveying direction; a moving mechanism that reciprocally moves the recording portion in a width direction that intersects the conveying direction; a maintaining portion that maintains the openable / closable cover in the closed state; and a releasing mechanism that releases the closed state of the openable / closable cover, the releasing mechanism being configured to be able to start a releasing operation that releases the closed state of the openable / closable cover in conjunction with the movement of the recording portion in the width direction.
[0030] According to the present embodiment, the releasing mechanism is able to start the releasing operation that releases the closed state of the openable / closable cover in conjunction with the movement of the recording portion in the width direction. Therefore, in conjunction with the movement of the recording portion in the width direction in association with the start of recording, the releasing operation can be automatically started, the user's trouble of opening the openable / closable cover can be eliminated, and damage to the medium in association with the forgetting of opening the openable / closable cover can be suppressed.
[0031] The recording device of the sixth aspect of the present application is characterized in that, in the third aspect described above, there is provided an open / close speed adjusting portion that adjusts the open / close speed of the openable / closable cover when changing the posture from the closed state to the open state.
[0032] According to the present embodiment, there is provided an open / close speed adjusting portion that adjusts the open / close speed of the openable / closable cover when changing the posture from the closed state to the open state. Therefore, it is possible to suppress, for example, a situation in which the openable / closable cover is damaged due to a violent and excessive opening of the openable / closable cover by the user and a violent collision of the openable / closable cover with the setting surface of the recording device.
[0033] The recording device of the seventh aspect of the present application is characterized in that, in the third aspect described above, there is provided an open / close sensor that detects whether the openable / closable cover is in the open state or in the closed state.
[0034] According to the present embodiment, there is provided an open / close sensor that detects whether the openable / closable cover is in the open state or in the closed state. Therefore, for example, by using the detection result of the open / close sensor, it is possible to omit an operation for opening the openable / closable cover before the start of recording when the openable / closable cover is in the open state, to shorten the recording start operation, and so on.
[0035] Hereinafter, the present application will be specifically described. In addition, the direction along the X axis in each drawing is the device width direction, which becomes the direction intersecting the medium transport direction, i.e., the width direction. The -X direction becomes the right direction as viewed from the user when the front surface of the device faces the user, and the +X direction becomes the left direction. Further, the direction along the Y axis is the device depth direction, and the +Y direction is the direction from the back surface toward the front surface of the device. Further, the -Y direction is the direction from the front surface toward the back surface of the device. Further, the direction along the Z axis is the vertical direction, the +Z direction becomes the vertically upper direction, and the -Z direction becomes the vertically lower direction.
[0036] First, the recording device 1 of an embodiment of the present application will be described with reference to Figure 1 The appearance of the recording device 1 of an embodiment of the present application will be described. Figure 1 The recording device 1 of the present embodiment indicated in FIG. 1 is an inkjet printer that targets recording on a photo recording medium such as a 6 inch x 4 inch medium. However, the present application is not limited to an inkjet printer that targets recording on a photo recording medium.
[0037] As indicated in FIG. 2, the recording device 1 includes a main body 2 and a medium housing portion 3 that is detachable with respect to the main body 2. Here, the medium housing portion 3 is attachable with respect to the main body 2 by being inserted from an opening portion 21 provided on the front surface of the main body 2 with respect to the main body 2, and is detachable from the main body 2 by being extracted from the opening portion 21 with respect to the main body 2. That is, the attachment direction of the medium housing portion 3 to the main body 2 is the -Y direction, and the detachment direction of the medium housing portion 3 from the main body 2 is the +Y direction. Figure 1 Next, the internal structure of the recording device 1 will be described with reference to
[0038] The internal structure of the recording device 1 will be described from the viewpoint of the medium transport path. As indicated in FIG. 3, the recording device 1 includes a main body 2 and a medium housing portion 3 that is detachable with respect to the main body 2. Figure 2 Figure 2
[0039] Details of the main part of the recording device 1 of the present embodiment, that is, the medium housing section 3 will be described later, but the medium housing section 3 has a first area 31 that houses a pre-recording medium, that is, a recording-before medium, and a second area 32 that houses a post-recording medium that has been recorded by the recording head 4 that is a recording section described later. The first area 31 and the second area 32 are divided by a division wall 35. By the presence of the division wall 35, it is possible to suppress the case where the recording-before medium and the post-recording medium are mixedly housed. Further, the medium housing section 3 has an opening-and-closing lid 33 that can be opened and closed in a state where it is attached to the main body section 2 with the turning shaft 34 as a reference. The opening-and-closing lid 33 is configured so that the +Y direction side end portion of the post-recording medium can be placed in an open state as indicated by Figure 2 and the opening portion 21 can be closed in a closed state as indicated by Figure 1 .
[0040] Hereinafter, the transport path of the medium will be described. The recording device 1 of the present embodiment transports the recording-before medium housed in the first area 31 to a position opposite the recording head 4 in the transport path Kl and transports the post-recording medium after the recording by the recording head 4 to the second area 32 in the transport path K2. The recording device 1 of the present embodiment has the feed roller 11 at a position opposite the first area 31 in a state where the medium housing section 3 is attached to the main body section 2. The feed roller 11 is supported by the support member 12 that is pivoted about the pivot shaft 12a, and by the pivoting of the support member 12, the feed roller 11 is advanced and retracted with respect to the recording-before medium housed in the first area 31.
[0041] The recording-before medium housed in the first area 31 is transported to a position opposite the rotating roller 13 in the transport path Kl by the feed roller 11. A plurality of driven rollers 14 are provided around the rotating roller 13. The recording-before medium is sandwiched and transported by the rotating roller 13 and the driven rollers 14, and thereby is transported to a sandwiching position of the transport roller pair 15 composed of the drive roller 16 and the driven roller 17 in the transport path Kl.
[0042] The recording-before medium that is transported to the sandwiching position of the transport roller pair 15 in the transport path Kl is recorded at a position opposite the recording head 4. In addition, the recording head 4 of the present embodiment is a so-called serial type inkjet head that is provided to the carriage 5 that reciprocates in the X axis direction and that ejects ink while reciprocating in the X axis direction together with the carriage 5. The recording-before medium that is transported to the position opposite the recording head 4 is recorded by repeating the predetermined amount of transport by the transport roller pair 15 and the inkjet action of the recording head 4 that reciprocates in the X axis direction while ejecting ink, and becomes a post-recording medium.
[0043] For the recorded medium on which recording is completed by the discharge head 4, the front end side in the conveyance direction is carried to the nip position of the discharge roller pair 18 composed of the drive roller 19 and the driven roller 20. Also, the recorded medium is discharged to the second area 32 in the conveyance path K2 by the discharge roller pair 18.
[0044] Here, the recording device 1 of the present embodiment is a recording device capable of performing edgeless recording in which an image is formed up to the edge of a medium. Also, a platen 60 that supports the medium during recording is provided at a position 6 opposite the discharge head 4. The position 6 opposite the discharge head 4 is configured such that the portion of the platen 60 corresponding to the edge of the medium is lower than the portion of the platen 60 that supports the medium, so as to prevent ink adhering to the surface of the platen 60 during edgeless recording from adhering to the medium and soiling the medium.
[0045] Hereinafter, the description will be made with reference to Figure 2 Figures 3-12 The main portion of the recording device 1 of the present embodiment, namely, the medium accommodating portion 3 and the opening and closing mechanism 100 of the opening and closing cover 33 of the medium accommodating portion 3, will be described in detail. As described above, the recording device 1 of the present embodiment is provided with: the discharge head 4 as a recording portion that records a medium; the main body portion 2 in which the discharge head 4 is provided; and the medium accommodating portion 3 that can be attached to and detached from the main body portion 2 and accommodates a medium.
[0046] Here, the medium accommodating portion 3 of the present embodiment is provided with: the first area 31 that accommodates a pre-recording medium that is a medium before recording by the discharge head 4; and the second area 32 that accommodates a recorded medium that is a medium after recording by the discharge head 4. The recording device 1 of the present embodiment is configured such that the medium accommodating portion 3 can accommodate both the pre-recording medium and the recorded medium, so as to enable efficient device configuration. Therefore, the device can be made less large in the gravitational direction and the number of accommodatable media can be increased. On the other hand, if the number of accommodatable media is not increased, the effect of enabling a lower device configuration in the gravitational direction is obtained.
[0047] Here, as indicated by Figure 12 and the like, for the medium accommodating portion 3, the first area 31 and the second area 32 are divided by the partition wall 35, and the first area 31 and the second area 32 are disposed at positions that do not overlap when viewed in the gravitational direction corresponding to the Z-axis direction. In addition, Figure 2 The medium accommodating space S1 of the first area 31 and the medium accommodating space S2 of the second area 32 are disposed at positions that overlap in the gravitational direction, namely, positions that overlap when viewed in the Y-axis direction. The recording device 1 of the present embodiment is configured as such, so as to enable efficient device configuration in particular. Therefore, the recording device 1 of the present embodiment can be made less large in the gravitational direction and the number of accommodatable media can be increased in particular.
[0048] In addition, such as Figures 2-5 As indicated, the media receiving section 3 can be mounted relative to the main body 2 by being inserted from the opening 21 provided in the main body 2 in the -Y direction, which is the insertion direction. Furthermore, as... Figure 4 as well as Figure 5 As indicated, the rear end in the insertion direction has an opening / closing cover 33 that can be opened and closed when mounted relative to the main body 2. Here, the opening / closing cover 33, when open, can hold at least a portion of the medium, and when closed, can close the opening 21. Thus, by configuring the opening / closing cover 33 to also serve as a medium-holding space when open, the device can be miniaturized in the direction intersecting with gravity when closed. Furthermore, by having such a structure, the opening 21 can be closed when closed, thereby preventing foreign matter such as dust from entering the main body 2 through the opening 21.
[0049] Specifically, the media receiving section 3 has a first region 31 on the front end side (-Y direction) of the insertion direction and a second region 32 on the rear end side (+Y direction) of the insertion direction. Furthermore, the opening / closing cover 33 can hold at least a portion of the recorded media when it is in the open state. With this structure, the user can remove the recorded media from the recording device 1 without detaching the media receiving section 3 from the main body 2. In other words, this structure improves user operability.
[0050] Here, the medium receiving section 3 is configured as follows: Figure 2 , Figure 11 as well as Figure 12 As indicated, both have an upper surface in the direction of gravity, namely the surface 31a of the first region 31 and the surface 32a of the second region 32, which allows the recording medium to be placed on the surface 31a before recording and the recording medium to be placed on the surface 32a after recording. Figure 11 as well as Figure 12 As indicated, a width adjustment section 37a and a width adjustment section 37b are provided on surface 31a, which can move along the X-axis direction to match the width of the medium being used. Furthermore, the movable dividing wall 35a in the dividing wall 35 can move along the Y-axis direction to match the length of the medium being used. With the medium receiving section 3 having such a structure, the recording apparatus 1 of this embodiment can record on media of various sizes.
[0051] Furthermore, at least a portion of the recorded medium can be placed on the surface 33a, which is located on the upper side in the direction of gravity when the cover 33 is in the open state. Figure 2As indicated by arrows, the surface 32a and the surface 33a when the opening and closing lid 33 is in the opened state are inclined in a manner that the placement position of the recorded medium becomes higher as it enters in the +Y direction corresponding to the discharge direction of the recorded medium. With the surface 32a and the surface 33a when the opening and closing lid 33 is in the opened state having such an inclination, it is possible to suppress the case where the recorded medium flies out from the recording device 1 to the outside when the recorded medium is discharged, and in addition, it is possible to suppress the case where the stacking of the recorded medium is not uniform.
[0052] Here, as indicated by arrows, Figures 3-5 A recessed portion 33b is provided on the surface 33a of the opening and closing lid 33, and a fitting portion 105 is provided on the main body 2, and the fitting portion 105 is provided with a protruding portion 105b that fits with the recessed portion 33b. The fitting portion 105 is configured to be movable to a position where it can fit with the recessed portion 33b and a position where it does not fit with the recessed portion 33b by rotating with the rotation shaft 106 as a reference when the opening and closing lid 33 is in the closed state. The protruding portion 105b fits with the recessed portion 33b when the opening and closing lid 33 is in the closed state, thereby maintaining the closed state. That is, the fitting portion 105 functions as a maintaining portion that maintains the opening and closing lid 33 in the closed state.
[0053] Here, the rotation mechanism of the fitting portion 105 will be described. As described above, the recording device 1 of the present embodiment is capable of conveying the medium in the conveyance path K1 and the conveyance path K2. In addition, it is capable of moving the discharge head 4 to and fro in the width direction (X axis direction) that intersects with the conveyance direction of the medium together with the carriage 5 to perform a recording operation. Here, the rotation roller 13, the conveyance roller pair 15, the discharge roller pair 18, and the like constitute a conveyance portion of the medium, and the carriage 5 and a not-shown motor or the like that imparts a driving force to move the carriage 5 constitute a moving mechanism that moves the discharge head 4 to and fro in the width direction.
[0054] As indicated by arrows, Figures 3-6 A rod 109 that rotates in a constant rotation range in conjunction with the rotation of the drive roller 19 and a gear 101 that rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the drive roller 19 are provided on the drive roller 19 that constitutes the discharge roller pair 18. The rod 109 moves to a position where it opposes the side surface 5a of the carriage 5 in the X axis direction and a position where it does not oppose the side surface 5a of the carriage 5 in the X axis direction in conjunction with the rotation of the drive roller 19.
[0055] The gear 101 is urged to the -X direction side by a spring 102 as indicated by arrows, Figure 3 but if the rod 109 is disposed at the position indicated by arrows, Figures 3-6 the carriage 5 moves to the +X direction side, and in conjunction therewith, moves to the +X direction side by the side surface 5a of the carriage 5, and moves to the +X direction side in conjunction with the movement of the rod 109 to the +X direction. In addition, the rod 109 moves to the -X direction side in conjunction with the movement of the carriage 5 to the -X direction side. Figures 3-6The configuration of the position of the lever 109 to the position opposite to the side surface 5a of the carriage 5 in the X-axis direction is performed by rotating the drive roller 19 in the direction opposite to the direction at the time of the conveyance of the medium. In contrast, the configuration of the lever 109 to the position not opposite to the side surface 5a of the carriage 5 in the X-axis direction is performed by rotating the drive roller 19 in the same direction as at the time of the conveyance of the medium. There is a pinion 103 engaged with the gear 101 at the position in front of the +X direction side to which the gear 101 moves, and the teeth 101a of the gear 101 are engaged with the teeth 103a of the pinion 103.
[0056] The gear 101 rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the drive roller 19, and therefore, the pinion 103 engaged with the gear 101 also rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the drive roller 19. Here, as shown in Figures 3-5 As shown, the pinion 103 is engaged with a rack 104 extending in the Y-axis direction, and the rack 104 is provided with teeth 104a engaged with the teeth 103a of the pinion 103. Therefore, if the pinion 103 is rotated via the gear 101 in conjunction with the rotation of the drive roller 19, the rack 104 moves in the Y-axis direction. As shown in Figures 3-5 As shown, the end portion 104b of the rack 104 on the +Y direction side is configured at a position capable of contacting the end portion 105a of the engagement portion 105. Also, if the rack 104 is moved to the +Y direction side in the state in which the engagement portion 105 maintains the openable and closable cover 33 in the closed state, the engagement portion 105 is turned to release the engagement of the convex portion 105b with respect to the concave portion 33b.
[0057] If the above is summarized, the recording device 1 of the present embodiment is provided with a conveyance portion such as the conveyance roller pair 15 that conveys the medium in the conveyance direction, a moving mechanism such as the carriage 5 that reciprocally moves the discharge head 4 in the width direction, an engagement portion 105 as a maintaining portion that maintains the openable and closable cover 33 in the closed state, and a gear 101, a pinion 103, and a rack 104 as a releasing mechanism that releases the closed state of the openable and closable cover 33. Also, the releasing mechanism is configured to be capable of starting the releasing operation of the closed state of the openable and closable cover 33 in conjunction with the movement of the discharge head 4 in the width direction. The recording device 1 of the present embodiment is structured as such, and therefore, in conjunction with the movement of the discharge head 4 in the width direction in association with the start of the recording, the releasing operation can be automatically started, the user's trouble of opening the openable and closable cover 33 can be eliminated, and the damage of the medium in association with the forgetting of the opening of the openable and closable cover 33 can be suppressed. Furthermore, by using the moving mechanism of the discharge head 4 as the releasing mechanism, it is not necessary to provide a dedicated power source as the releasing mechanism, and low cost can be achieved.
[0058] Here, the opening and closing lid 33 of the present embodiment is configured to become from the closed state to the open state by the self-weight in conjunction with the release of the closed state. However, in the case where there is no structure to adjust the rotation speed of the opening and closing lid 33, when becoming from the closed state to the open state, it is feared that the opening and closing lid 33 violently collides with the setting surface of the recording device 1 to generate a large sound, it is feared that the opening and closing lid 33 will be damaged. Therefore, the opening and closing lid 33 of the present embodiment is configured to have the opening and closing speed adjustment section 36 as shown in Figure 11 and Figure 7 , and the like, the opening and closing speed adjustment section 36 adjusts the rotation speed at the time of becoming from the closed state to the open state.
[0059] As shown in Figure 7 , the opening and closing speed adjustment section 36 has a protrusion section 36a provided to the second region 32 and capable of moving in the Y-axis direction at a position capable of contacting the opening and closing lid 33, and a spring 36b that applies a force to the protrusion section 36a in the +Y direction toward the opening and closing lid 33. The opening and closing lid 33 changes in a state as shown in the upper left of Figure 7 , the center of Figure 7 , the right lower side of Figure 7 , but as shown in each of Figure 7 , the protrusion section 36a continues to contact the opening and closing lid 33 regardless of the state of the opening and closing lid 33. Therefore, when changing in a state as shown in the upper left of Figure 7 , the center of Figure 7 , the right lower side of Figure 7 , the rotation speed of the opening and closing lid 33 at the time of becoming from the closed state to the open state is adjusted to be slower than the structure without the opening and closing speed adjustment section 36 by the frictional force of the protrusion section 36a and the opening and closing lid 33.
[0060] Thus, it is preferable to have the opening and closing speed adjustment section 36 that adjusts the opening and closing speed of the opening and closing lid 33 at the time of changing the posture from the closed state to the open state. This is because it is possible to suppress, for example, the case where the user violently excessively opens the opening and closing lid 33 to violently collide with the setting surface of the recording device 1 to generate a large sound, to damage the opening and closing lid 33, and the like.
[0061] Further, as shown in Figures 8-10 , the recording device 1 of the present embodiment has the opening and closing sensor 107 that detects whether the opening and closing lid 33 is in the open state or in the closed state. Therefore, the recording device 1 of the present embodiment is able to omit the operation for opening the opening and closing lid 33 before the recording start when the opening and closing lid 33 is in the open state, to shorten the recording start operation, and the like, for example, using the detection result of the opening and closing sensor 107.
[0062] In detail, as shown inFigures 8-10 As shown in the drawing, the main body 2 has a moving portion 108, and the front end 108a of the moving portion 108 contacts the face 33c of the opening and closing lid 33 when the opening and closing lid 33 is in the closed state. The moving portion 108 is configured to be urged to the +Y direction side by a spring 110, and is able to move in the Y axis direction within a predetermined range. A pressing portion 108b is provided on the -Y direction side of the moving portion 108, and as will be described later, the opening and closing sensor 107 is configured to be pressed in the -Z direction as the moving portion 108 moves to the -Y direction side. Figure 9 As will be described later, the opening and closing sensor 107 is configured to be pressed in the -Z direction as the moving portion 108 moves to the -Y direction side. Figure 10 As will be described later, the opening and closing sensor 107 is configured to be pressed in the -Z direction as the moving portion 108 moves to the -Y direction side.
[0063] In addition, the present application is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the application recited in the claims, and it is needless to say that they are included in the scope of the present application. For example, it can be a structure without the opening and closing lid 33. In the case of such a structure, by making the medium housing portion 3 to fly out from the opening of the housing, it is possible to suppress the falling of the recorded medium, and it is easy to take out the recorded medium. Furthermore, by being such a structure, it is possible to reduce the opening and closing lid 33 and the mechanism for making the opening and closing lid 33 operate, and the opening and closing operation time.
