AI Technical Summary
When the fire protection system of traditional energy storage systems sprays the energy storage unit that has thermal runaway, it is easy to spray it incorrectly on other normal-working energy storage units, resulting in short circuits, arcing and greater damage, posing a major safety hazard.
An energy storage system is designed, in which partitions are provided in the installation cabinet to separate the cavity into multiple independent installation positions. Each energy storage unit corresponds to a monitoring mechanism and a spray mechanism. The monitoring mechanism detects heat. When out of control, send a signal to the corresponding spraying mechanism to cool down separately to prevent fire-extinguishing objects from accidentally spraying.
It effectively prevents the spraying mechanism from causing misspelling of energy storage units that have not experienced thermal runaway, avoids short circuits and arcing, thereby improving the overall safety of the energy storage system.

[0034] Please refer to Figures 1 and 4. An embodiment of the present application provides an energy storage system, including an installation cabinet 100, an energy storage unit 121, a monitoring mechanism 210 and a spray mechanism 220. The installation cabinet 100 has a cavity 110, and at least one partition member 130 is provided in the cavity 110. The partition member 130 divides the cavity 110 into at least two installation positions 120; at least two energy storage units 121 are provided and are arranged in each installation position 120 in a one-to-one correspondence; at least two monitoring mechanisms 210 are provided and arranged in the cavity 110, and the monitoring mechanisms 210 and the energy storage units 121 are arranged in a one-to-one correspondence; at least two spray mechanisms 220 are provided and arranged in the cavity 110, and the spray mechanisms 220 and the energy storage units 121 are arranged in a one-to-one correspondence, and the spray mechanisms 220 and the monitoring mechanisms 210 corresponding to the same energy storage unit 121 are electrically connected to each other.
[0035] In the above energy storage system, the partition 130 separates the cavity 110 of the installation cabinet 100 into at least two installation positions 120, and at least two energy storage units 121 are correspondingly arranged at the corresponding installation positions 120. Each energy storage unit 121 is correspondingly provided with a monitoring mechanism 210 and a spraying mechanism 220. When one of the monitoring mechanisms 210 detects that the energy storage unit 121 corresponding to it has thermal runaway, the monitoring mechanism 210 can send a signal to the spraying mechanism 220 corresponding to the energy storage unit 121 having thermal runaway, and the spraying mechanism 220 that receives the signal can be sent to the spraying mechanism 220. 0 can spray the energy storage unit 121 that has thermal runaway, so as to cool the energy storage unit 121 that has thermal runaway separately. Under the blocking effect of the partition 130, the fire extinguishing material sprayed by the spray mechanism 220 will not be sprayed to the energy storage unit 121 that has not thermal runaway on other installation positions 120 by mistake. Compared with the conventional technology, the energy storage system can prevent the spray mechanism 220 from spraying the energy storage unit 121 that has not thermal runaway by mistake, and then prevent the energy storage unit 121 that has not thermal runaway from short circuit and arc generation, so as to improve the overall safety of the energy storage system.
[0036] In some embodiments, the installation cabinet 100 is provided with at least two layers, each layer is provided with at least one partition 130 to form at least two installation positions 120, and each layer is provided with at least two energy storage units 121 and is arranged one-to-one corresponding to the installation positions 120 to improve space utilization.
[0037] Furthermore, the energy storage unit 121 is composed of a plurality of battery cells, and the partition piece 130 partitions the two energy storage units 121 in two adjacent installation positions 120. When the spray mechanism 220 sprays and cools one of the energy storage units 121, the partition piece 130 can prevent the fire extinguishing material sprayed by the spray mechanism 220 from being sprayed onto another energy storage unit 121 that has not experienced thermal runaway, thereby preventing other energy storage units 121 from short-circuiting.
[0038] Optionally, the fire extinguishing material may be a liquid such as water, or a powdered fire extinguishing agent, etc., which is not specifically limited here.
[0039] By way of explanation, the monitoring mechanism 210 can determine whether thermal runaway occurs in the energy storage unit 121 by means of temperature, whether smoke or fire is generated, and the like. When the monitoring mechanism 210 detects that thermal runaway occurs in the energy storage unit 121 corresponding thereto, an electrical signal is sent to the spray mechanism 220, and the spray mechanism 220 cools down the energy storage unit 121 that has thermal runaway, thereby preventing the thermal runaway from further spreading to other energy storage units 121.
[0040] Furthermore, the monitoring mechanism 210 may be disposed on the top, side wall, or surface of the partition 130 of the cavity 110 , etc., as long as the thermal runaway situation of the energy storage unit 121 corresponding to the monitoring mechanism 210 can be monitored, and no specific limitation is made here.
[0041] In one embodiment, the partition 130 includes a fireproof partition, which is vertically arranged in the cavity 110 to separate the cavity 110 into at least two installation positions 120. In this way, when the energy storage unit 121 of one of the installation positions 120 has a thermal runaway and catches fire, the spread of the fire can be blocked to a certain extent, preventing the fire from affecting other energy storage units 121 and causing continuous fires.
[0042] Furthermore, the fireproof partition is a magnesium crystal board, which is a new type of non-combustible material composed of natural inorganic minerals as the main material, polymer modified materials as reinforcing agents, no chloride ions, and lightweight materials as fillers. This material can be used as a fireproof partition to prevent the spread of fire.
[0043] In other embodiments, partitions 130 are also provided on both side walls of the cavity 110 to prevent the energy storage unit 121 from posing a threat to the safety of workers outside the cavity 110 after thermal runaway occurs.
[0044] In one embodiment, the energy storage system further includes a control terminal 300, all monitoring mechanisms 210 are electrically connected to the control terminal 300, and all spray mechanisms 220 are electrically connected to the control terminal 300. When one of the monitoring mechanisms 210 detects that the corresponding energy storage unit 121 is expected to have thermal runaway, an electrical signal is sent to the control terminal 300, and the control terminal 300 then sends an electrical signal to the corresponding spray mechanism 220 to cool the energy storage unit 121 that has experienced thermal runaway.
[0045] Furthermore, the control terminal 300 controls the spray mechanism 220 and the monitoring mechanism 210 through a programmable logic controller (PLC), which will not be described in detail here.
[0046] Please refer to Figures 1 and 2. In one embodiment, the energy storage system further includes a fire extinguishing material generating mechanism, a liquid storage mechanism 500 and a carbon dioxide storage mechanism 600. The fire extinguishing material generating mechanism includes a mixing tank 400. The mixing tank 400 has a mixing chamber 440, a first input port 410, a second input port 420 and an output port 430 that are connected to each other. The liquid storage mechanism 500 is connected to the first input port 410, the carbon dioxide storage mechanism 600 is connected to the second input port 420, and all the spray mechanisms 220 are connected to the output port 430.
[0047] The liquid storage mechanism 500 inputs the stored liquid into the mixing chamber 440 of the mixing tank 400 through the first input port 410, and the carbon dioxide storage mechanism 600 inputs the stored carbon dioxide into the mixing chamber 440 of the mixing tank 400 through the second input port 420. The carbon dioxide is mixed with the liquid to form a liquid carrying carbon dioxide. The liquid carrying carbon dioxide is used as a fire extinguishing material and is passed into the spraying mechanism 220 through the output port 430 to spray the energy storage unit 121 that has thermal runaway, thereby improving the fire extinguishing effect.
[0048] Furthermore, compared to pure water, liquid carrying carbon dioxide as a fire extinguisher has the function of suppressing the fire source in addition to cooling, thereby further improving the fire extinguishing effect.
[0049] In one embodiment, the spray mechanism 220 includes a spray head 221 and a spray valve 222. The spray head 221 is connected to the output port 430 through the spray valve 222 and is arranged toward the corresponding energy storage unit 121. The spray valve 222 is electrically connected to the control terminal 300 and is used to control the opening and closing of the spray head 221, thereby achieving cooling and fire extinguishing of a single energy storage unit 121.
[0050] Please refer to Figures 1 and 4. In one embodiment, the installation cabinet 100 is provided with at least two layers, each layer is provided with at least two energy storage units 121, and the energy storage system further includes a spray main pipe and a spray branch pipe. One end of the spray main pipe is connected to the output port 430 and is provided with a main infusion valve 223 and a first liquid flow meter 224. The main infusion valve 223 and the first liquid flow meter 224 are both electrically connected to the control terminal 300. There are at least two spray branches corresponding to the number of layers of the installation cabinet 100. The sprinkler head 221 is connected to the corresponding sprinkler branch pipe of each layer through the sprinkler valve 222. The sprinkler branch pipe is connected to one end of the sprinkler main pipe away from the output port 430 to transport the fire extinguishing material to the energy storage unit 121 of each installation position 120 in each layer.
[0051] Furthermore, the control terminal 300 controls the opening and closing of the liquid infusion main valve 223 through the size of the liquid flow obtained by the first liquid flow meter 224, thereby controlling the output of the fire extinguishing material.
[0052] The spray head 221 may be worn out after long-term use. In one embodiment, the spray head 221 is detachably mounted on the spray branch pipe, so that the staff can directly open the door of the installation cabinet 100 to replace the spray head 221 .
[0053] Please refer to Figures 2 and 3. In one embodiment, the mixing chamber 440 is provided with a first chamber 441 and a second chamber 442 which are connected in sequence along the direction from the first input port 410 to the output port 430. The fire extinguishing material generating mechanism also includes a contraction member 450. The contraction member 450 is arranged in the first chamber 441 and has an input end 451, an output end 452 and a contraction channel 453. The input end 451 is connected to the output end 452 through the contraction channel 453. The input end 451 is connected to the inner wall of the first chamber 441 and is arranged toward the first input port 410. The output end 452 is arranged toward the second chamber 442. The cross-sectional diameter of the contraction channel 453 gradually decreases along the direction from the input end 451 to the output end 452, and the cross-sectional diameter of the second chamber 442 gradually increases along the direction from the first input port 410 to the output port 430.
[0054] The liquid introduced from the first input port 410 flows through the first chamber 441 to the second chamber 442. When it flows to the contraction piece 450, the flow rate of the liquid will increase sharply due to the gradual decrease in the cross-sectional diameter of the contraction piece 450. At this time, the pressure is reduced, which is conducive to the mixing of the liquid and carbon dioxide. Subsequently, the liquid mixed with carbon dioxide enters the second chamber 442. Since the cross-sectional diameter of the second chamber 442 gradually increases, the flow rate of the liquid mixed with carbon dioxide decreases, and the pressure rises. Under the shear and crushing action of the fluid, bubbles are generated in the liquid mixed with carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide liquid with bubbles has better cooling and fire source suppression capabilities, thereby improving the fire extinguishing effect.
[0055] Please refer to Figure 3. In one embodiment, the mixing chamber 440 is further provided with a connecting chamber 443. The first chamber 441 is connected to the second chamber 442 through the connecting chamber 443. The outer wall of the contraction piece 450 is spaced apart from the inner wall of the first chamber 441 to form an air inlet chamber 444. The connecting chamber 443 and the second input port 420 are both connected to the air inlet chamber 444.
[0056] The connecting chamber 443 is located between the first chamber 441 and the second chamber 442. When the liquid flows to the contraction piece 450, the flow rate of the liquid increases sharply due to the gradual decrease in the cross-sectional diameter of the contraction piece 450. At this time, the pressure decreases, and carbon dioxide enters the connecting chamber 443 through the air inlet chamber 444 to facilitate mixing with the liquid with reduced pressure.
[0057] Further, please refer to Figure 3, the input end 451 of the contraction member 450 is connected to the inner wall of the first chamber 441, and the output end 452 is spaced apart from the connection between the first chamber 441 and the connecting chamber 443, so that carbon dioxide can be mixed with the liquid in the process of the liquid entering the connecting chamber 443 from the output end 452.
[0058] Please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 . In one embodiment, the fire extinguishing material generating mechanism further includes a bubble generating membrane 460 . The bubble generating membrane 460 is disposed on one side of the second chamber 442 close to the output port 430 .
[0059] The bubble generating membrane 460 can filter the liquid with carbon dioxide in the second chamber 442 to generate small-sized carbon dioxide nanobubbles. The fire extinguishing material carrying the carbon dioxide nanobubbles has better ability to cool down and suppress the fire source, thereby improving the fire extinguishing effect.
[0060] Furthermore, the bubble generating membrane 460 includes an inorganic hydrophilic AAO (Anodic Aluminum Oxide) membrane, the surface of which has a nanoporous structure, and when filtering a liquid containing carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide nanobubbles with a size of less than 1 μm are generated.
[0061] Please refer to Figures 1 to 2. In one embodiment, the liquid storage mechanism 500 includes a liquid storage member 510 and a pressure gas cylinder 520. The liquid storage member 510 has a connected liquid storage cavity, an air inlet 511 and a liquid outlet 512. The liquid storage cavity is used to store liquid. The air inlet 511 is connected to the pressure gas cylinder 520, and the liquid outlet 512 is connected to the first input port 410.
[0062] The pressure gas cylinder 520 applies pressure to the liquid storage chamber through the air inlet 511 , and the liquid in the liquid storage chamber enters the first input port 410 through the liquid outlet 512 under the action of pressure, so as to realize the transportation of the liquid in the liquid storage chamber.
[0063] Furthermore, the liquid in the liquid storage chamber is pure water.
[0064] Please refer to Figure 2. In one embodiment, the pressure gas cylinder 520 is connected to the gas inlet 511 through a gas pipeline. A gas valve 521 and a first gas flow meter 522 are provided on the gas pipeline. The gas valve 521 is electrically connected to the control terminal 300 and is used to control the on-off of the gas pipeline. The first gas flow meter 522 is electrically connected to the control terminal 300. The control terminal 300 obtains the flow rate of the gas by obtaining the first gas flow meter 522, and controls the opening and closing of the gas valve 521 according to the flow rate, thereby controlling the input amount of the gas.
[0065] 2 , in one embodiment, the liquid outlet 512 is connected to the first input port 410 through a liquid outlet pipeline, a second liquid flow meter 513 is provided on the liquid outlet pipeline, and the second liquid flow meter 513 is electrically connected to the control terminal 300. Similar to the first liquid flow meter 224, it will not be described again here.
[0066] Please refer to Figures 1 and 2. In one embodiment, the carbon dioxide storage mechanism 600 is connected to the second input port 420 through an outlet pipeline. A second gas flow meter 611 and an outlet valve 612 are provided on the outlet pipeline. The second gas flow meter 611 and the outlet valve 612 are both electrically connected to the control terminal 300. The control terminal 300 obtains the flow rate of carbon dioxide by obtaining the second gas flow meter 611, and controls the opening and closing of the outlet valve 612 according to the flow rate, thereby controlling the input amount of carbon dioxide.
[0067] Please refer to FIG. 4 . In one embodiment, the installation cabinet 100 is provided with a drainage hole 112 . The bottom wall of the cavity 110 is provided with a drainage groove 111 . The drainage groove 111 is connected to the drainage hole 112 .
[0068] The drain trough 111 disposed on the bottom wall of the cavity 110 can discharge the fire extinguishing material sprayed by the spray mechanism 220 to the outside of the installation cabinet 100, thereby improving the convenience of using the energy storage system and preventing excessive fire extinguishing material from overflowing to other installation positions 120, thereby affecting other energy storage units 121.
[0069] Furthermore, when the installation cabinet 100 is provided with at least two layers, the bottom wall of each layer is provided with a drainage groove 111 and a drainage hole 112. The drainage groove 111 passes through each installation position 120 and is connected to the outside of the installation cabinet 100 through the drainage holes 112 of each layer, so that the fire-extinguishing materials of each layer can be discharged to the outside of the installation cabinet 100.

The exhaust port of the air pump 710 is connected to the exhaust gas treatment module 720.
[0074] The vacuum pump 710 operates to extract the harmful gas in the cavity 110 from the exhaust pipe and discharge it to the exhaust gas treatment module 720 through the exhaust port. The exhaust gas treatment module 720 can treat the harmful gas to prevent the harmful gas from being discharged to the outside and affecting the environment or personnel safety.
[0075] Further, referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 4 , when at least two layers are provided in the installation cabinet 100 , each layer is connected to the exhaust pipe to ensure that each layer can effectively exhaust harmful gases.
[0076] In one embodiment, the controller of the air extractor 710 is electrically connected to the control terminal 300 so as to control the air extractor 710 to operate through the control terminal 300 .
[0077] In one embodiment, the tail gas treatment module 720 includes a purified gas box 721, in which activated carbon 722 is disposed and connected to the exhaust port. The activated carbon 722 adsorbs harmful components in the harmful gas to ensure the safety of the gas after discharge.
[0078] In one embodiment, the monitoring mechanism 210 includes a temperature sensor, and the temperature sensor is used to monitor the temperature of the energy storage unit 121 corresponding thereto.
[0079] When the temperature sensor detects that the temperature of the energy storage unit 121 corresponding to it is abnormal, an electrical signal is sent to the spray mechanism 220, thereby spraying fire extinguishing materials on the energy storage unit 121 with abnormal temperature to cool it down.
[0080] Furthermore, the temperature sensor is disposed on the partition member 130 to be close to the energy storage unit 121 corresponding thereto, thereby improving the accuracy of the temperature sensor.
[0081] As an embodiment that can be implemented simultaneously with the above-mentioned embodiment, the monitoring mechanism 210 includes a flame detector, and the flame detector is used to monitor whether the energy storage unit 121 corresponding to it is on fire.
[0082] When the flame detector detects that the corresponding energy storage unit 121 is on fire, an electrical signal is sent to the spray mechanism 220, thereby spraying fire extinguishing materials on the burning energy storage unit 121 to reduce the temperature.
[0083] The technical features of the above embodiments may be combined arbitrarily. To make the description concise, not all possible combinations of the technical features in the above embodiments are described. However, as long as there is no contradiction in the combination of these technical features, they should be considered to be within the scope of this specification.
