[0024] Hereinafter, the embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings. Figure 1 It should be noted that in the second to fifth embodiments, the same components as those in the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals and the description thereof is omitted, and mainly the differences are described.

[0025] [First embodiment]

[0026] Figure 1 is a cross-sectional view of a bearing structure 100 provided with a seal structure 1A according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 It is a cross-sectional view of the sealing structure 1A. In the bearing structure 100 provided with the sealing structure 1A, a rolling element 200 constituting the bearing is provided between the inner peripheral side member 3 to which the wheel is connected and the outer peripheral side member 2 provided on the outer side relative to the inner peripheral side member 3, and grease is sealed in order to make the rotation of the rolling element 200 smooth. It should be noted that, in the example shown in the figure, although two rolling elements 200 are provided, the number of rolling elements 200 is not particularly limited. The sealing structure 1A is provided in order to prevent leakage of the sealed grease or intrusion of foreign matter into the space (sealed object space) sealed with the grease.

[0027] The sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment of the present invention realizes the sealing between the outer peripheral member 2 and the inner peripheral member 3, the outer peripheral member 2 and the inner peripheral member 3 can rotate relative to each other and a rolling element 200 is provided therebetween, and the sealing structure 1A includes: an outer sealing member 4, which is mounted on the outer peripheral member 2 and has an outer lip portion (grease lip 412 and side lip 413) that is in sliding contact with the inner peripheral member 3 or an object mounted on the inner peripheral member 3; and an inner sealing member 5, which is mounted on the inner peripheral member 3 and has an inner lip portion 512 that is in sliding contact with the outer peripheral member 2 or an object mounted on the outer peripheral member 2. The grease lip 412 and the side lip 413 are provided at a position closer to the sealing object space side than the inner lip portion 512, and the inner sealing member 5 is mounted on a recess 321 formed in the inner peripheral member 3.

[0028] In the following, for convenience of explanation, arrow a (refer to Figure 2 ) direction is set as one side, and the arrow b( Figure 2 In addition, in the direction perpendicular to the axis x (hereinafter also referred to as the "radial direction"), the direction away from the axis x ( Figure 2 The direction of arrow c) is set as the outer peripheral side, and the direction close to the axis x ( Figure 2 In the following description, when describing the positional relationship and direction of each component, it is only to show the positional relationship and direction in the drawings, not to show the positional relationship and direction when assembled in an actual vehicle.

[0029] The outer member 2 is a so-called outer ring and is non-rotatable relative to the vehicle, etc. The outer member 2 has a cylindrical portion 21 extending along the axis x direction at a portion where the outer seal member 4 is provided. The cylindrical portion 21 opens to one side in the axis x direction.

[0030] The inner peripheral member 3 is a so-called inner ring that is rotatable relative to the outer peripheral member 2 and has a wheel mounting flange 30 for connecting a wheel. It should be noted that the inner peripheral member 3 can be divided into a plurality of parts. Figure 2 The portion shown may not be directly connected to the wheel. That is, the inner circumferential side member 3 only needs to be a component that rotates with the wheel. The inner circumferential side member 3 has: a cylindrical columnar portion 31, extending along the axis x direction and arranged on the inner circumference of the tubular portion 21; and a flange portion 32, which is continuous with the end of one side of the columnar portion 31 in the axis x direction and extends toward the outer circumference. A recess 321 is formed on the surface 322 of the flange portion 32 facing the other side of the axis x direction. In addition, the portion of the flange portion 32 in which the recess 321 is formed extends along a surface orthogonal to the axis x direction, and in particular, becomes a portion on the outer circumferential side in such a plane. In addition, the position where the recess 321 is formed is a position opposite to the end face 212 of the outer circumferential side member 2 in the axis x direction.

[0031] The inner circumferential surface 211 of the cylindrical portion 21 and the outer circumferential surface 311 of the columnar portion 31 are arranged with a gap, and a rolling element is provided in the gap and grease is sealed. That is, the space between the inner circumferential surface 211 and the outer circumferential surface 311 becomes the sealed object space. In addition, the direction from the other side toward the one side in the axis x direction is the direction from the sealed object space side toward the atmosphere side, and the direction from the inner circumferential side toward the outer circumferential side is the direction from the sealed object space side toward the atmosphere side.

[0032] The outer sealing member 4 includes an outer elastic body portion 41 and an outer reinforcing portion 42 mounted on the outer elastic body portion 41, and the outer sealing member 4 is mounted on the inner peripheral surface 211 of the cylindrical portion 21. The elastomer of the outer elastic body portion 41 is, for example, a rubber material such as fluororubber, acrylic rubber, nitrile rubber, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, etc. The outer reinforcing portion 42 is, for example, made of metal and manufactured by stamping or forging, and the outer elastic body portion 41 is molded by cross-linking (vulcanization) molding using a molding die. The outer elastic body portion 41 and the outer reinforcing portion 42 are integrally molded.

[0033] The outer elastic body portion 41 includes an annular portion 411 formed in an annular shape around the axis x, a grease lip 412 and a side lip 413 as an outer lip portion protruding from the inner peripheral end of the annular portion 411. The annular portion 411 ensures sealing between the cylindrical portion 21 and the outer reinforcing portion 42 by bringing the outer peripheral edge of the annular portion 411 into contact with the inner peripheral surface 211 of the cylindrical portion 21.

[0034] The grease lip 412 protrudes toward the inner circumference side and is inclined toward the other side of the axis x direction as it moves toward the inner circumference side, and the grease lip 412 is in sliding contact with the outer circumferential surface 311 of the columnar portion 31. The side lip 413 protrudes toward one side of the axis x direction and is inclined toward the outer circumference side as it moves toward one side of the axis x direction, and the side lip 413 is in sliding contact with the surface 322 of the flange portion 32 that is toward the other side of the axis x direction. The side lip 413 is provided at a position closer to the atmosphere than the grease lip 412, and foreign matter such as muddy water is prevented from entering between the grease lip 412 and the columnar portion 31. In addition, in the present embodiment, one side lip 413 is provided.

[0035] The outer reinforcing portion 42 integrally includes a cylindrical portion 421 extending along the axis x direction and an annular portion 422 extending toward the inner circumference. The cylindrical portion 421 extends along the axis x direction and the annular portion 422 is continuous with an end portion of the cylindrical portion 421 on one side in the axis x direction. The outer elastic portion 41 is provided to cover a surface of the annular portion 422 on one side in the axis x direction.

[0036] The inner sealing member 5 includes an inner elastomeric portion 51 and an inner reinforcing portion 52 installed on the inner elastomeric portion 51, and the inner sealing member 5 is installed on the recess 321 of the inner peripheral member 3. It should be noted that the installation method of the inner sealing member 5 to the recess 321 is not particularly limited, for example, it can be installed by metal fitting. The elastomer of the inner elastomeric portion 51 is, for example, a rubber material such as fluororubber, acrylic rubber, nitrile rubber, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, etc. The inner reinforcing portion 52 is, for example, made of metal and manufactured by stamping and forging, and the inner elastomeric portion 51 is molded by cross-linking (vulcanization) molding using a molding die. The inner elastomeric portion 51 and the inner reinforcing portion 52 are integrally molded.

[0037] The inner elastic body portion 51 includes a mounting portion 511 disposed in the recess 321, and an inner lip portion 512 protruding from the mounting portion 511 toward the other side in the direction of the axis x. The outer peripheral surface portion 511A of the mounting portion 511 having a substantially rectangular cross section is not covered by the inner reinforcing portion 52 and is exposed, and the outer peripheral surface portion 511A contacts the inner peripheral surface of the recess 321. In addition, the outer peripheral surface portion 511A is inclined toward the outer peripheral side as it goes toward the other side in the direction of the axis x (so that the radial dimension decreases as it goes toward the bottom of the recess 321), and has a convex portion 511B at the end portion on the other side in the direction of the axis x.

[0038] The inner lip 512 is inclined toward the outer peripheral side as it moves toward the other side in the axis x direction (i.e., toward the outer peripheral side member 2), and the base end 512B is formed to be thinner than the front end 512A (the radial dimension becomes smaller). That is, the front end 512A is heavier and more rigid than the base end 512B, and the base end 512B is easier to deform than the front end 512A.

[0039] The front end portion 512A slides with the end surface 212 on one side of the axis x direction of the cylindrical portion 21, so that the inner lip portion 512 is in linear contact with the outer peripheral member 2. In addition, the end surface 212 is flat along a plane perpendicular to the axis x direction, and the inner lip portion 512 slides with respect to such a flat portion.

[0040] The grease lip 412 and the side lip 413 as the outer lip are provided on the sealed space side relative to the inner lip 512. That is, the inner lip 512 prevents foreign matter such as muddy water from entering between the grease lip 412 and the side lip 413 and the inner peripheral member 3. In addition, the inner lip 512 is provided on the outer peripheral side relative to the grease lip 412 and the side lip 413.

[0041] The inner reinforcing portion 52 integrally includes a cylindrical portion 521 and an annular portion 522, the cylindrical portion 521 extending along the axis x direction, the annular portion 522 being continuous with the end of the cylindrical portion 521 on one side in the axis x direction and extending toward the outer circumference, and the inner reinforcing portion 52 is formed in an L-shaped cross section. The inner reinforcing portion 52 covers a portion of the inner circumferential surface and the surface on one side in the axis x direction of the mounting portion 511 having a substantially rectangular cross section. At least on the other side in the axis x direction, the total radial dimension of the mounting portion 511 and the inner reinforcing portion 52 is equal to or slightly larger than the radial dimension of the recess 321, and the mounting portion 511 is in close contact with the inner surface of the recess 321 to ensure sealing.

[0042] In the sealing structure 1A as described above, when foreign matter such as muddy water is about to intrude from the atmosphere side toward the sealed object space side, the intrusion is first suppressed by the inner lip 512. When the foreign matter passes through the inner lip 512, the intrusion is next suppressed by the side lip 413. At this time, since the inner lip 512 and the side lip 413 are arranged staggered with each other (extending from the inner peripheral member 3 and the outer peripheral member 2, respectively), the foreign matter passing through the inner lip 512 passes near the front end of the inner lip 512 and easily reaches the base end of the side lip 413. That is, it is difficult for the foreign matter that has passed through the inner lip 512 to pass through the side lip 413.

[0043] Thus, foreign matter is prevented from entering the grease lip 412, and rust or wear of the lips due to foreign matter is prevented. In addition, the reduction of sealing performance due to rust or wear, or the increase of friction force and the increase of torque (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "torque") for wheel rotation are prevented.

[0044] When the inner circumference member 3 rotates, the inner lip 512 inclined toward the outer circumference is further moved toward the outer circumference due to the centrifugal force generated by the rotation. As a result, the force of the inner lip 512 pressing the outer circumference member 2 is reduced, reducing the torque for rotating the wheel.

[0045] Thus, according to the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment of the present invention, the inner sealing member 5 is mounted on the recessed portion 321 of the inner peripheral member 3, thereby eliminating the need to provide a slinger or extend the slinger for mounting the inner sealing member 5, thereby suppressing the complexity of the structure. In this way, the inner sealing member 5 can be easily installed, and the sealing performance can be improved compared to a structure in which the sealing is achieved only by a seal provided on the outer peripheral member 2.

[0046] In addition, by providing the inner sealing member 5, the number of seals can be reduced in the outer sealing member 4, and the centrifugal force can be easily used to reduce the torque in the rotating inner sealing member 5. Therefore, compared with the structure in which the seal is provided only on the outer peripheral member 2, even if the total number of seals is the same, the total torque can be reduced.

[0047] In addition, the inner lip portion 512 extends toward the outer peripheral side as it approaches the outer peripheral member 2 in the axis x direction, and can be deformed by centrifugal force, thereby reducing the torque.

[0048] Furthermore, in the inner lip portion 512 , the base end portion 512B is more easily deformed than the front end portion 512 , and as described above, deformation using centrifugal force is more likely to occur, making it easier to reduce torque.

[0049] In addition, the inner sealing member 5 has the inner reinforcing portion 52, so that the deformation of the inner elastic body portion 51 can be suppressed. At this time, the outer peripheral surface 511A of the inner elastic body portion 51 is brought into contact with the inner surface of the recessed portion 321, so that the sealing performance therebetween can be improved. In particular, the convex portion 511B is formed on the outer peripheral surface 511A, so that the convex portion 511B can be easily pressed against the recessed portion 321.

[0050] [Second Embodiment]

[0051] like Figure 3 As shown, in the sealing structure 1B of the present embodiment, compared with the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment, the inner sealing member 5B and the outer elastic body portion 41B of the outer sealing member 4 are different, and the other structures are the same.

[0052] The inner sealing member 5B does not have an inner reinforcing portion, but the inner peripheral surface, outer peripheral surface, and surface on one side of the axis x direction of the mounting portion 511 are in contact with the inner surface of the recessed portion 321. In addition, the inner lip portion 513 of the inner sealing member 5B has a substantially constant wall thickness, and the ease of deformation is the same from the base end to the front end.

[0053] The outer elastic body portion 41B has a middle lip 414 disposed between the grease lip 412 and the side lip 413 . The middle lip 414 is in sliding contact with a transition region between the columnar portion 31 and the flange portion 32 .

[0054] According to the sealing structure 1B of the present embodiment, similarly to the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment, it is possible to improve the sealing performance while suppressing the complexity of the structure.

[0055] [Third Embodiment]

[0056] like Figure 4 As shown, in the sealing structure 1C of the present embodiment, the inner sealing member 5C is different from the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment, and the other structures are the same.

[0057] The inner sealing member 5C does not have an inner reinforcing portion like the inner sealing member 5B in the second embodiment, but has a mounting portion 511 of the same form. In addition, the inner sealing member 5C has an inner lip portion 512 similar to that of the first embodiment.

[0058] According to the sealing structure 1C of the present embodiment, similarly to the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment, it is possible to improve the sealing performance while suppressing the complexity of the structure.

[0059] [Fourth Embodiment]

[0060] like Figure 5As shown, the seal structure 1D of this embodiment is different from the seal structure 1A of the first embodiment in that a slinger 6 is provided, and the other structures are the same.

[0061] The slinger 6 integrally includes a cylindrical portion 61 and an annular portion 62, the cylindrical portion 61 extending in the axis x direction, the annular portion 62 connected to one end of the cylindrical portion 61 in the axis x direction and extending toward the inner circumference, and the slinger 6 is formed in an L-shaped cross section. The slinger 6 is mounted on the outer circumference member 2 in such a manner that the cylindrical portion 61 covers the outer circumference 213 of the cylindrical portion 21 and the annular portion 62 covers the end surface 212 on one side of the cylindrical portion 21 in the axis x direction. The inner lip portion 512 does not directly slide in contact with the outer circumference member 2 but slides in contact with the slinger 6 as an object mounted on the outer circumference member 2. It should be noted that an elastic member for sealing is preferably provided between the slinger 6 and the cylindrical portion 21.

[0062] According to the sealing structure 1D of the present embodiment, similarly to the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment, it is possible to improve the sealing performance while suppressing the complexity of the structure.

[0063] Furthermore, by providing the slinger 6 , the surface state (smoothness, surface roughness, etc.) of the sliding contact surface can be easily managed compared to a structure in which the inner lip portion 512 and the outer peripheral member 2 are in direct sliding contact.

[0064] [Fifth Embodiment]

[0065] like Figure 6 As shown, in the seal structure 1E of the present embodiment, the outer reinforcing portion 42E of the outer seal member 4 is different from the seal structure 1A of the first embodiment, and the other structures are the same.

[0066] The outer reinforcement portion 42E integrally includes a double cylindrical portion 421E extending in the axis x direction, an annular portion 422E that is continuous with one end of the double cylindrical portion 421E in the axis x direction and extends toward the inner circumference, and an oil slinger 423 that is continuous with one end of the double cylindrical portion 421E in the axis x direction and extends toward the outer circumference. The double cylindrical portion 421E extends cylindrically from one side to the other side in the axis x direction along the inner circumferential surface 211 of the cylindrical portion 21, and then folds back on the inner circumference to extend cylindrically toward the other side.

[0067] The slinger 423 covers the end surface 212 on one side of the axis x direction of the cylindrical portion 21. The inner lip portion 512 does not directly slide in contact with the outer peripheral member 2 but slides in contact with the slinger 423 as an object mounted on the outer peripheral member 2. It should be noted that the elastic member that seals between the outer reinforcement portion 42E and the cylindrical portion 21 is preferably provided between the slinger 423 and the cylindrical portion 21, for example.

[0068] According to the sealing structure 1E of the present embodiment, similarly to the sealing structure 1A of the first embodiment, it is possible to improve the sealing performance while suppressing the complexity of the structure.

[0069] Furthermore, by providing the slinger 423, the surface conditions such as smoothness and surface roughness of the sliding contact surface can be easily managed as in the fourth embodiment. In addition, by forming the slinger 423 integrally with the outer reinforcement portion 42E, an increase in the number of components can be suppressed.

[0070] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment, and also includes other structures that can achieve the purpose of the present invention, and the following deformations are also included in the present invention. For example, in the above-mentioned embodiment, the inner lip 512, 513 extends toward the outer peripheral side as it approaches the outer peripheral side member 2 in the axis x direction, but the inner lip may also extend along the axis x direction, or may extend toward the inner peripheral side as it approaches the outer peripheral side member in the axis x direction. In the case where the inner lip extends toward the inner peripheral side, the inner lip can be pressed against the sliding contact object by centrifugal force to improve the sealing performance.

[0071] In addition, in the above-mentioned embodiment, the grease lip 412 and the side lip 413 as the outer lip directly slide in contact with the inner circumferential side member 3, but the outer lip can also be a structure that slides in contact with an object (such as a slinger) mounted on the inner circumferential side member.

[0072] In addition, the structures shown in the first to fifth embodiments may be combined with each other. For example, the structures without the inner reinforcement portion as in the second and third embodiments may be combined with the structures with the slinger as in the fourth and fifth embodiments.

[0073] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the sealing structure of the embodiments of the present invention, but includes all the modes included in the concept and claims of the present invention. In addition, in order to make at least a part of the above-mentioned problems and effects work, each structure can also be appropriately selectively combined. For example, the shape, material, configuration, size, etc. of each structural element of the above-mentioned embodiment can be appropriately changed according to the specific use mode of the present invention.
