Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a diaper product having a multi-layer absorber, which enables the absorbent article to be reused a second time after removing one of the absorbers in the absorber. Background Art
[0002] Diaper products for personal hygiene such as disposable adhesive diapers, disposable pants, and adult incontinence underwear are designed to absorb and contain various body exudates, including urine, menstrual fluid, and fecal matter. There is a need for a diaper product having multiple absorbers that enables it to be reused a second time after the first soiling. Such a diaper product needs to have multiple absorbers, where a first absorber can be removed after the first soiling, thereby exposing another absorber. Such a diaper product having multiple absorbers can provide convenience by enabling the soiled absorber to be removed without completely removing the clothes. This convenience may be particularly needed during vacations or during cold seasons. A diaper product having multiple absorbers can also provide protection for the material.
[0003] Diaper products having multiple absorbers are known in the art, such as in US5,613,959, US2017 / 0216111A, US 2017 / 0216106A, and US 2017 / 0239099A. Although such diaper products are known, they may need improvement in actual use.
[0004] For example, those diaper products known in the art may not consider enabling the first absorber to be smoothly removed from the rest of the product. For example, those diaper products known in the art may not have practical measures to keep the absorber for the second use intact during the first use. For example, those diaper products known in the art may not consider providing sufficient sealing, leak prevention, or wearing comfort before and after removing the first absorber.
[0005] Based on the foregoing, there is a need for a diaper product having a multi-layer absorber that enables the first absorber to be smoothly removed after use while maintaining the inhibitory performance and wearing comfort for the first and second uses. There is also a need for a diaper product that addresses the concerns of consumers who are aware of the sustainable use of materials. Summary of the Invention

[0029] Definitions
[0030] As used herein, the following terms shall have the meanings specified below:
[0031] "Diaper product" means a wearing article including an application member, which may be in the form of an adhesive diaper, a pant diaper, an incontinence brief, a feminine hygiene undergarment, etc. Diaper products such as feminine pads that require separate parts (such as pins, tapes, or undergarments) for wearing are not considered "diaper products".
[0032] "Longitudinal" means the direction extending substantially perpendicular from one waist edge of the article to the opposite waist edge and generally parallel to the greatest linear dimension of the article.
[0033] "Transverse" means the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
[0034] "Proximal" and "distal" refer to positions closer to or farther from the longitudinal center of the article, respectively.
[0035] "Facing the wearer" and "facing the garment" respectively refer to the relative position of an element or the relative position of the surface of an element or a group of elements. "Facing the wearer" means that during wearing, the element or surface is closer to the wearer than some other element or surface. "Facing the garment" means that during wearing, the element or surface is farther from the wearer than some other element or surface (i.e., the element or surface is close to the wearer's garment, which may be worn over the disposable diaper product).
[0036] "Disposed" means that an element is positioned at a particular site or location.
[0037] "Joined" refers to configurations in which an element is directly secured to another element by attaching one element directly to the other element; it also refers to configurations in which an element is indirectly secured to another element by attaching the element to an intermediate member and then attaching the intermediate member to the other element.
[0038] "Film" refers to a sheet-like material where the length and width of the material far exceed the thickness of the material. Typically, the film has a thickness of about 0.5 mm or less.
[0039] "Nonwoven", "nonwoven layer", or "nonwoven web" are used interchangeably and refer to an engineered fiber assembly that is primarily planar and has been given a designed level of structural integrity by physical and / or chemical means, but does not include weaving, knitting, or papermaking (as defined in ISO 9092:2019). Oriented or randomly oriented fibers are bonded by friction and / or cohesion and / or adhesion. These fibers can be derived from natural sources or synthetic sources and can be staple fibers or continuous filaments or fibers formed in situ. Commercially available fibers have a diameter range of less than about 0.001 mm to greater than about 0.2 mm, and they come in several different forms, such as staple fibers (known as chemical staple fibers or cut fibers), continuous single fibers (filaments or monofilaments), untwisted continuous filament tows (tows), and twisted continuous filament tows (yarns). Nonwoven webs can be formed by many methods, such as meltblowing, spunbonding, solution spinning, electrostatic spinning, carding, and airlaid. The basis weight of a nonwoven web is typically expressed in grams per square meter (g / m2 or gsm).
[0040] "Water permeability" and "water impermeability" refer to the permeability of materials within the intended use range of disposable diaper products. Specifically, the term "water permeability" refers to a layer or laminated structure having pores, openings, and / or interconnected void spaces that permits liquid water, urine, or synthetic urine to pass through its thickness without applied pressure. In contrast, the term "water impermeability" refers to a layer or laminated structure through which liquid water, urine, or synthetic urine cannot pass through its thickness without applied pressure (other than natural forces such as gravity). According to this definition, a water-impermeable layer or laminated structure may be permeable to water vapor, i.e., may be "vapor permeable".
[0041] "Hydrophilic" describes a substrate surface that can be wetted by an aqueous fluid (e.g., an aqueous body fluid) that can be deposited on these substrates. Hydrophilicity and wettability are generally defined in terms of the contact angle and the moisture permeability time of a fluid through, for example, a nonwoven fabric. This is discussed in detail in a publication of the American Chemical Society entitled "Contact angle, Wettability and Adhesion" (Copyright 1964) edited by Robert F. Gould. When the contact angle between the fluid and the surface is less than 90°, or when the fluid tends to spread spontaneously along the substrate surface, it can be said that the substrate surface is wetted by the fluid (i.e., hydrophilic), and these two conditions generally coexist. In contrast, if the contact angle is greater than 90° and the fluid cannot spread spontaneously along the fiber surface, the substrate is considered "hydrophobic".
[0042] "Extensibility" and "extensible" mean that the width or length of a member in a relaxed state can be extended or increased.
[0043] "Elastic" and "elasticized" mean that a member includes at least a portion made of an elastic material.
[0044] "Elongatable material", "extensible material", or "stretchable material" are used interchangeably and refer to a material that, when a biasing force is applied, can be stretched to an elongation length of at least about 110% of its relaxed initial length (i.e., can be stretched more than 10% beyond its initial length) without breaking or fracturing and exhibits minimal recovery when the applied force is released, i.e., the recovery is less than about 20% of its elongation without completely breaking or fracturing, and the recovery is measured by the EDANA method 20.2 - 89. In the event that such an elongatable material recovers at least 40% of its elongation when the applied force is released, the elongatable material will be considered "elastic" or "elastomeric". For example, an elastic material with an initial length of 100 mm can be extended to at least 150 mm and, when the force is removed, retracts to a length of at least 130 mm (i.e., exhibits 40% recovery). In the event that the material recovers less than 40% of its elongation when the applied force is released, the elongatable material will be considered "substantially inelastic" or "substantially non - elastomeric". For example, an elongatable material with an initial length of 100 mm can be extended to at least 150 mm and, when the force is removed, retracts to a length of at least 145 mm (i.e., exhibits 10% recovery).
[0045] Unless otherwise specified, the "dimensions", "length", "width", "spacing", "diameter", "aspect ratio", "angle", and "area" of an article are measured in the following state: the article is stretched to its full - stretch perimeter W1, which is in accordance with the "Full - article force value measurement" herein and using a ruler or a small magnifying glass.
[0046] "Viewing the original image" refers to a visual representation that can be observed by the naked eye, provided by printing or other means and having color. Printing includes various methods and equipment well - known to those skilled in the art, such as lithographic printing techniques, screen - printing techniques, flexographic printing techniques, and gravure ink - jet printing techniques.
[0047] As used herein, "color" or 'colored' includes any base color other than white, i.e., black, red, blue, purple, orange, yellow, green, and indigo, as well as any variations thereof or mixtures thereof. According to the CIE L* a* b* color system, white is defined as those colors having an L* value of at least 94, an a* value equal to ±2, and a b* value equal to ±2. Detailed Description
[0048] Diaper products and absorbent components
[0049] Figures 1A to 1BPerspective view of an embodiment of a pant - type diaper product (10) of the present invention, which includes an absorbent assembly (20) and an application member (40). The absorbent assembly (20) includes a first absorbent body (38), a second absorbent body (39) disposed on the clothing - facing side of the first absorbent body, and a chassis (100) disposed on the clothing - facing side of the second absorbent core, wherein the first absorbent body (38) and the second absorbent body (39) are adhesively bonded with a temporary adhesive portion (TB), which enables the removal of the first absorbent body (38) from the rest of the diaper product (10). The diaper product (10) of the present invention has a multi - layer absorbent body (38, 39), such that the diaper product (10) can be used more than once. Thus, the chassis (100) and the application member (40) can be used more than once, contributing to the sustainable use of materials. In addition, the first absorbent body (38) can be removed from the rest of the diaper product (10) without completely removing the diaper product (10) from the wearer, facilitating easy diaper changing.
[0050] Figure 2A and Figure 2B is a schematic plan view of an embodiment of the absorbent assembly of the present invention, showing the front side at the top and the rear side at the bottom. The absorbent assembly (20) has a longitudinal centerline LX that also serves as a longitudinal axis, and a transverse centerline TX that also serves as a transverse axis. The figure below TX shows the hoop elements, while the figure above TX removes the hoop elements. That is, referring to Figure 3 , there are hoop elements (31, 35, 33, and 34) along the left and right transverse edges of the absorbent assembly. In Figure 2A and Figure 2B , these elements are removed above TX, thus showing the first topsheet (241) and any elements extending beyond the size of the first topsheet (241). Towards Figure 2A and Figure 2B 's upper left side, the elements of the first absorbent body (38) below the first topsheet (241) are exposed and shown. In addition, the elements of the second absorbent body (39) below the first outer cover (421) are exposed and shown. Figure 2A and Figure 2B show the state in which any elastic hoop elements (33, 35) are fully stretched below TX. Towards Figure 2A and Figure 2B 's lower left side, the elements of the chassis (100) below the non - woven material forming the outer chassis hoop (34) are exposed and shown.
[0051] Refer to Figure 2A , Figure 2B and Figure 3, the first absorbent body (38) and the remainder (39, 100) of the diaper product each carry basic components to provide the functions as an absorbent diaper product (10). Specifically, the first absorbent body (38) includes a first water-permeable topsheet (241), a first water-impermeable backsheet (251), a first absorbent core (621) disposed between the first topsheet and the first backsheet, and a first outer cover (421). The first outer cover (421) serves as an interface between the second absorbent body (39) on which a temporary adhesive portion (TB) is provided. The second absorbent body (39) includes a second water-permeable topsheet (242) and a second absorbent core (622). The second topsheet (242) serves as an interface between the first absorbent body (38) on which a temporary adhesive portion (TB) is provided. The chassis (100) is disposed on the clothing-facing side of the second absorbent core. The chassis (100) includes a water-impermeable chassis backsheet (252), which can be used as a barrier to prevent the leakage of the effluent absorbed and contained in any absorbent body within the absorbent assembly (20). When only the first absorbent body and the second absorbent body (38, 39) are present, the second absorbent body (39) may not have a second backsheet. When there are more than two absorbent bodies, the second absorbent body (39) may further include a second backsheet and a second outer cover, and the second outer cover serves as an interface between the third topsheet of the third absorbent body on which another temporary adhesive portion (TB) is provided. In a similar manner, more layers of absorbent bodies can be included in the absorbent assembly (20), and the absorbent body closest to the clothing-facing side may not have a backsheet and an outer cover.
[0052] The absorbent assembly (20) of the present invention can be assembled with an application component (40) to form a diaper product (10), where the application component (40) is selected from the group consisting of fastening components and elastic bands (40). Refer to Figure 5A , the diaper product (10) can be in the form of a pant diaper including an elastic band (40), where the elastic band (40) can be formed by combining non-woven materials and / or woven materials with elastic materials (such as elastomers and elastic films). Although not shown, the diaper product (10) can be in the form of an adhesive diaper including a fastening component. The fastening component can be, for example, a pair of elongated members and a receiving member, and the elongated members project laterally from the left and right lateral edges of the rear region and can be fastened to the receiving member provided on the front region.
[0053] Regardless of whether it is a pant type or an adhesive type, the diaper product (10) of the present invention can be used more than once and also has an appropriate thickness, so it is comfortable to wear. According to the measurements herein, the diaper product (10) of the present invention can have a folded thickness of no more than about 12.5 mm. By providing a diaper product within such a folded thickness, the product provides an aesthetic and tactile feeling similar to that of a diaper product with a single absorbent body.
[0054] Top sheet, back sheet and outer cover
[0055] Reference Figure 2A 、 Figure 2B and Figure 3 and, the absorbents (38, 39) of the present invention each include a water-permeable topsheet (241, 242) that can be positioned to at least partially contact or be adjacent to the wearer. The first and second absorbents (38, 39) can use the same or different materials. Suitable topsheets (241, 242) can be made from a wide range of materials such as porous foams; reticulated foams; open-cell plastic films; or woven or non-woven fiber webs made of natural fibers (e.g., wood fibers or cotton fibers), synthetic fibers (e.g., polyester fibers or polypropylene fibers), or combinations of natural and synthetic fibers. The topsheets (241, 242) are generally compliant, feel soft, and are non-irritating to the wearer's skin. The topsheets (241, 242) are liquid-permeable, thereby allowing body fluids to easily penetrate through the thickness of the topsheets (241, 242). Exemplary topsheets (241, 242) suitable for the present invention include those made from a carded nonwoven substrate containing PE / PET bicomponent fibers and purchased from Xiamen Yanjiang New Materials Co., Ltd., those with the trade name H30501221 purchased from Fibertex Nilai, Malaysia, or those with the trade name SB1206169 purchased from FQN Hazlet NJ, USA. As is known in the art, any portion of the topsheets (241, 242) can be coated with a lotion or skin care ingredient. Examples of suitable lotions include those described in U.S. Patent Nos. 5,607,760; 5,609,587; 5,635,191; and 5,643,588.
[0056] The first absorbent body (38) and the chassis (100) of the present invention each include a liquid-impermeable backsheet (251, 252) that is designed to prevent soiling of articles, such as sheets and undergarments, that may come into contact with the diaper article (10) by the effluent absorbed by and contained within the absorbent cores (621, 622). The first absorbent body (38) and the chassis (100) may use the same or different materials. The backsheets (251, 252) may be positioned such that they extend beyond the absorbent cores (621, 622) disposed on the wearer-facing side of the particular backsheet (251, 252) in both the longitudinal and transverse directions. Suitable backsheet (251, 252) materials include films, such as those sold under the trade name PLBA NBBS 10-12GSMPR V1 by Plaster Argentina. Other suitable backsheet (251, 252) materials may include breathable materials that allow vapor to escape from the diaper article (10) while still preventing effluent from passing through the backsheet (251, 252). Exemplary breathable materials may include materials such as woven fiber webs, non-woven fiber webs, composite materials such as film-coated non-woven fiber webs, and microporous membranes, such as those manufactured by Daika Japan under the trade name MPF DKH-180 15G V7 and by Berry Nashville, TN under the trade name BR-137P V13. Such breathable composite materials are described in more detail in PCT Application No. WO 95 / 16746 and U.S. Patent No. 5,865,823. Other breathable backsheets including non-woven fiber webs and apertured formed films are described in U.S. Patent No. 5,571,096. Exemplary suitable backsheets are disclosed in U.S. Patent No. 6,107,537. Other suitable materials and / or manufacturing techniques may be used to provide a suitable backsheet, including but not limited to surface treatment, specific film selection and processing, specific filament selection and processing, etc.
[0057] The first absorber (38) includes a first outer cover (421) that serves as an interface between the second absorbers (39). The first outer cover (421) can be made of a soft nonwoven material. The first outer cover (421) and the first backsheet (251) can be joined together by an adhesive or any other suitable material or method. Optionally, a chassis outer cover (422) can be provided on the garment-facing side of the chassis backsheet (252) to provide a diaper product with a finished appearance. Exemplary outer covers (421, 422) suitable for the present invention include those with the trade name S31921A made from a spunbond nonwoven substrate containing PP fibers and purchased from Crown & Hygiene Products Co., Ltd., the trade name A10160EJ–MALAYSIA purchased from Fibertex Nilai, Malaysia, and the trade name SM1104174 purchased from FQN Hazlet NJ, New Jersey, USA.
[0058] Absorbent core
[0059] Reference Figure 2A 、 Figure 2B and Figure 3 、, the absorbers (38, 39) of the present invention each include an absorbent core (621, 622) disposed on the wearer-facing side for absorbing and containing body exudates. The absorbent core (621, 622) can include an absorbent layer and a collection system. The absorbent layer is a region where an absorbent material such as a superabsorbent polymer with a high retention capacity is present. The absorbent layer can be substantially free of cellulose. Alternatively, the absorbent layer can contain cellulose. There can be an absorbent layer mainly containing cellulose and another absorbent layer mainly containing a superabsorbent polymer.
[0060] The superabsorbent polymer of the absorbent layer can be disposed between a first material layer and a second material layer fixed by a fibrous layer of a thermoplastic adhesive material. The first material layer and the second material layer can be nonwoven fiber webs, including synthetic fibers such as single-component fibers of PE, PET, and PP, and multicomponent fibers such as side-by-side type, core / shell type, or sea-island type fibers. Such synthetic fibers can be formed by a spunbond method or a meltblown method. Some portions of the absorbent layer can be configured to be substantially free of absorbent material to form one or more channels. The channels can be used to allow the absorbent core (621, 622) to bend when swollen by fluid, so that the crotch region conforms to the wearer's body after swelling and prevents the diaper product (10) from sagging. A plurality of absorbent layers can be provided in the absorbent core (621, 622).
[0061] Alternatively, the absorbent core (621, 622) may comprise a highly fluffed material containing superabsorbent polymer. The term "highly fluffed" refers to a low density, loose fabric compared to a flat paper fabric. A highly fluffed fibrous web is characterized by a relatively high porosity. This means that there is a relatively high amount of void space in which the superabsorbent polymer particles can be distributed. The highly fluffed material (without superabsorbent particles) may have a density of less than 0.20 g / cm 3 at a pressure of 4.14 kPa (0.6 psi), particularly a density in the range of 0.05 g / cm 3 to 0.15 g / cm 3 The highly fluffed layer (without superabsorbent particles) may have a density of less than 0.20 g / cm 3 at a pressure of 2.07 kPa (0.3 psi), particularly a density in the range of 0.02 g / cm 3 to 0.15 g / cm 3 The highly fluffed layer (without superabsorbent particles) may have a density of less than 0.15 g / cm 3 at a pressure of 0.83 kPa (0.12 psi), particularly a density in the range of 0.01 g / cm 3 to 0.15 g / cm 3 and a basis weight of 15 gsm to 500 gsm, preferably 30 gsm to 200 gsm, such as those described in US 2021 / 0361497 Al. The absorbent core (621, 622) comprising a highly fluffed material containing superabsorbent polymer may also include channels.
[0062] The absorbent core (621, 622) may also include a collection system for facilitating the collection and distribution of bodily effluents, and may be placed between the topsheet (241, 242) and the absorbent layer. The function of the collection system is to rapidly collect fluid from the topsheet (241, 242) away from the wearer-facing side and / or distribute it over a larger area so that it is more effectively absorbed by the absorbent core. The collection system may comprise cellulose fibers. Channels may also be formed in the collection system and may be configured to at least partially match the channels of the absorbent layer in the thickness direction. Such another liquid management layer may also be placed between the backsheet (251, 252) and the absorbent layer. The liquid management layer may be a spunlace nonwoven fabric containing viscose, PET, CoPET / PET fibers, and combinations thereof.
[0063] Temporary adhesive portion
[0064] The absorbent assembly (20) of the present invention has a first outer cover (421) and a second topsheet (242) adhesively bonded together by a temporary bond (TB) for enabling the first absorbent body (38) to be removed from the remainder of the diaper article (10) after a first use. A temporary bond (TB) having an appropriate peel strength is provided between two nonwoven layers, namely the first outer cover (421) and the second topsheet (242). The temporary bond (TB) can be provided by any one of an adhesive, thermal energy, ultrasonic energy, or a combination thereof. According to the peel strength measurements herein, the temporary bond (TB) has a peak force of about 16 N or less, or a peak force of about 4 N to about 15 N, or a peak force of about 4 N to about 10 N, or a peak force of about 6 N to about 15 N, or a peak force of about 10 N to about 15 N, and an average force of about 0.3 N or more, or an average force of about 0.4 N to about 15 N, or an average force of about 1 N to about 15 N, or an average force of about 0.4 N to about 14 N. The peel strength measurements herein are intended to simulate the removal action of a wearer or caregiver (collectively referred to hereinafter as "user") when removing the first absorbent body (38) from the remainder of the diaper article by starting to tear the temporary bond (TB) from either the front end or the back end of the first absorbent body (38) towards the other end of the front end or the back end. The average force is similar to the force observed during the middle of the removal action. By having an average force of about 0.3 N or more, the temporary bond (TB) is strong enough to withstand the forces generated by the wearer during the first use. The peak force is similar to the maximum force experienced during the removal action. By having a peak force of about 16 N or less, the temporary bond (TB) is not so strong that the bond can be torn without much effort and without damaging other components of the diaper article (10). For example, when the temporary bond (TB) is too strong, the first outer cover (421) can be damaged and cause some of the first outer cover (421) to remain adhered to the second topsheet (242) and / or expose the first backsheet (251). Both of these situations are undesirable because they provide a perception of being damaged and thus non-functional to the remaining diaper article.
[0065] As long as the above-mentioned peak force and average force according to the peel strength measurements herein are achieved, the first outer cover (421) and the second topsheet (242) can be any nonwoven materials suitable for use as a diaper article (10). Exemplary first outer cover (421) materials can be selected from those having a basis weight of about 6.5 gsm to about 25 gsm, preferably about 8 gsm to about 20 gsm. Exemplary second topsheet (242) materials can be selected from those having a basis weight of about 11 gsm to about 40 gsm, preferably about 15 gsm to about 40 gsm. The basis weight of the first outer cover (421) can be lower than the basis weight of the second topsheet (242).
[0066] Figures 4A to 4C is a schematic plan view of an embodiment of the temporary bonding portion (TB) of the present invention. The temporary bonding portion (TB) is disposed at least partially along the lateral edges of the second topsheet (242) and extends in the longitudinal direction. As Figures 4A to 4B shown, the temporary bonding portion (TB) can be a substantially straight line along the left and right lateral edges of the second topsheet (242). Alternatively, as Figure 4C shown, the temporary bonding portion (TB) can be a continuous line extending at least partially along the lateral edges of the second topsheet (242), such as in an oval shape. The shape of the continuous line can be rectangular or other polygons.
[0067] Referring to Figure 2A , Figure 2B and Figures 4A to 4C , the first outer covering (421) includes a front longitudinal edge region within about 5 mm of the front end of the first outer covering (421) and within about one-third of the lateral dimension of the first outer covering (421) from the longitudinal axis. The first outer covering (421) includes a rear longitudinal edge region within about 5 mm of the rear end of the first outer covering (421) and within about one-third of the lateral dimension of the first outer covering (421) from the longitudinal axis. There may be no temporary bonding portion (TB) in the front and rear longitudinal edge regions. Referring to Figure 4A , the temporary bonding portion (TB) can extend in the longitudinal direction up to the front and rear ends of the first outer covering (421). Referring to Figure 4B , the temporary bonding portion (TB) can extend in the longitudinal direction, leaving the front and rear ends of the first outer covering (421) unbonded. By not providing the temporary bonding portion (TB) in the front and rear longitudinal edge regions, this facilitates inserting a finger between the first outer covering (421) and the second topsheet (242) to initiate the removal action.
[0068] Still referring to Figures 4A to 4B , an auxiliary temporary bonding portion (ATB) can also be provided between the first outer coverings (421), wherein according to the peel strength measurements herein, the auxiliary temporary bonding portion (ATB) provides the same or lower peak force as the temporary bonding portion (TB). The auxiliary temporary bonding portion (ATB) can be disposed between the temporary bonding portions (TB) extending in the lateral direction, wherein there is no auxiliary temporary bonding portion (ATB) in the front and rear longitudinal edge regions. The auxiliary temporary bonding portion (ATB) can be connected to the left and right temporary bonding portions (TB). As Figures 4A to 4B shown, the auxiliary temporary bonding portion (ATB) can be disposed adjacent to the longitudinal edge region. Referring to Figure 4A, the auxiliary temporary bonding part (ATB) can be a straight line extending in the lateral direction. The auxiliary temporary bonding part (ATB) can be set at a position about 5 mm to about 40 mm away from the front longitudinal edge and the rear longitudinal edge of the first outer cover (421). By setting the auxiliary temporary bonding part (ATB) at this position, the user has enough space to insert a finger between the first outer cover (421) and the first outer cover (421) to start the removal action, without leaving too many unbonded areas. When there are many unbonded areas left towards the front longitudinal end and the rear longitudinal end of the first absorbent body (38), this may cause unnecessary folding. Refer to Figure 4B , the temporary bonding part (TB) can be a curved part having a concave part facing the front end or the rear end and extending in the lateral direction. The auxiliary temporary bonding part (ATB) can be set at a position where the concave part closest to the front end or the rear end is about 5 mm to about 40 mm away from the front longitudinal edge and the rear longitudinal edge of the first outer cover (421).
[0069] Refer to Figure 1B and Figure 7A , on the side of the first absorbent body (38) facing the clothing, that is, the first outer cover (421), a marking area (SZ) can be provided. The marking area (SZ) includes markings for visually guiding the user to be able to pinch the first absorbent body (38) at a place to effectively start the removal action of the first absorbent body (38) from the rest of the diaper product (10). The marking area (SZ) can be provided adjacent to the front end and / or the rear end of the first outer cover (421), and can overlap with the front longitudinal edge area or the rear longitudinal edge area of the second topsheet (242). It may be advantageous to provide the marking area (SZ) adjacent to the front end of the first outer cover (421) to guide the user to start the removal action from the front side, because it is relatively more hygienic than starting the removal action from the rear side. It may be advantageous to provide the marking area (SZ) adjacent to the front end of the first outer cover (421) to guide the wearer himself / herself to start the removal action from the front side in a sitting position. It may be advantageous to provide the marking area (SZ) adjacent to the rear end of the first outer cover (421) to guide the caregiver to start the removal action from the rear side, because it is convenient to start the removal action when the wearer is in a standing position. It may be advantageous to provide the marking area (SZ) adjacent to the front end and the rear end of the first outer cover (421) so that the user can start the removal action according to various habits as described above or otherwise. It may be advantageous to provide the marking area (SZ) adjacent to the front end and the rear end of the first outer cover (421) so that the caregiver can remove the first absorbent body (38) from both the front side and the rear side when changing the diaper when the wearer is in a lying position. Refer to Figures 7B to 7D, the marking can be a color and / or pattern distinguishable from the rest of the first outer cover (421), a material and / or topography distinguishable from the rest of the first outer cover (421), such as words like "open", "peel off here", and / or in combination with signs such as arrows. Figures 7B to 7D Any marking of Figures 7B to 7D can be provided by printing, physical treatment (such as embossing, quilting, slitting, or heating), by attaching additional materials, or any combination thereof. Refer to Figure 7E , a marking can be provided by changing the shape of the sign zone (SZ), for example, by providing a protrusion at the transverse center. This changed shape of the first outer cover (421) can optionally match other materials of the first absorber (38), such as the first topsheet (241) and / or the first backsheet (251).
[0070] Refer to Figures 7G to 7M , the marking of the sign zone (SZ) can also include a start component for initiating a removal action. The start component can be a protrusion, such as a piece of additional material added to the sign zone (SZ). Refer to Figure 7F and Figure 7G , the protrusion can be attached adjacent to the edge of the sign zone (SZ) and can be used for pinching. Refer to Figure 7J and Figure 7K , the marking can include additional material forming a fold for inserting a finger. Refer to Figure 7L and Figure 7M , the marking can include an opening for inserting a finger. Figures 7B to 7M Any of the markings in Figures 7B to 7M can be combined with each other.
[0071] Dimensions
[0072] Refer to Figure 2A , Figure 2B and Figure 3 , the components for forming the absorbent assembly (20) can have specific relationships with each other to ensure that the second absorber (39) remains intact during the first use, while maintaining wearing comfort and enabling the smooth removal of the first absorber (38) after use. Hereinafter, it is defined that the first backsheet (251) has a transverse dimension T1 and a longitudinal dimension L1, the first outer cover (421) has a transverse dimension T2 and a longitudinal dimension L2, the second topsheet (242) has a transverse dimension T3 and a longitudinal dimension L3, and the chassis backsheet (252) has a transverse dimension T4 and a longitudinal dimension L4.
[0073] A temporary bonding part (TB) for bonding the first absorber and the second absorber (38, 39) is provided between the first outer cover (421) and the second topsheet (242), so that the first absorber (38) can be removed from the rest of the diaper product (10) after the first use. In order not to soil the second absorber (39) during the first use, T1 can be set to be equal to or greater than T3. Preferably, T1 can be set to be greater than T3 by about 5 mm to about 15 mm. In addition, for the same purpose, T2 can be set to be equal to or greater than T3. Preferably, T2 can be set to be greater than T3 by about 5 mm to about 45 mm.
[0074] Reference Figure 3 , the first absorber (38) may further include a first outer cover folding part (43) connected to the first outer cover (421), wherein the lateral edge of the first backsheet (251) is sandwiched between the first outer cover (421) and the first outer cover folding part (43). By providing the elements of the first absorber (38) in this configuration, better protection is provided along the lateral edge of the absorbent assembly (20), and the visual exposure of the first backsheet (251) to the user can be avoided. Generally, the visual exposure of the backsheets (251, 252) is avoided to provide a finished appearance for the product, and also to avoid exposing the color of the effluent after soiling the absorbent assembly (20). To determine the dimension T2, only the first outer cover (421) is considered, and the dimension of the first outer cover folding part (43) is not included.
[0075] Reference Figure 2A and Figure 2B , L3 can be set to be greater than L1. Preferably, L3 can be set to be greater than L1 by about 20 mm to about 60 mm. That is, the front end and / or the rear end of the second topsheet (242) can extend beyond the first backsheet (251) and the first outer cover (421). By providing the first absorber (38) and the second absorber (39) in this configuration, the user can conveniently remove the first absorber (38) from the rest of the absorbent assembly by inserting a finger between the first outer cover (421) and the second topsheet (242). The chassis backsheet (252) provides a barrier function for the entire diaper product (10). To provide this function, T4 can be greater than T1. Preferably, T4 can be set to be greater than T1 by about 40 mm to about 60 mm. T4 can be set to be greater than any one of T1, T2, or T3. L4 can be greater than L1 or L2. The first absorbent core is set to be smaller in size than T1, T2, L1, and L2. The second absorbent core is set to be smaller in size than T3, T4, L3, and L4. For clarity, in Figure 3 due to the exaggeration of the thickness of the first outer cover (421), T2 is shown with a size greater than T1, thus increasing the size at the left and right folding points. But actually, Figure 3The embodiments described have T1 and T2 of the same lateral dimension.
[0076] Still referring to Figure 2A and 2B , the absorbent core present on the side facing the garment, i.e., the second absorbent core (622), may have a distance between the front end of the core and the front end of the absorbent assembly (20) that is shorter than the distance between the rear end of the core and the rear end of the absorbent assembly (20). By moving the core slightly forward relative to the longitudinal center, the absorbent core can effectively receive and absorb fluid waste. When the second absorbent core (622) is arranged in such a position relative to the absorbent assembly (20), the rear ends of the first absorbent core and the second absorbent core (621, 622) may be matched, while the front end of the first absorbent core (621) is present proximal to the front end of the second absorbent core (622). By arranging the first absorbent core and the second absorbent core (621, 622) in such positions, the vicinity of the longitudinal edge of the first outer cover (421) on the front side may remain thinner due to the absence of the first absorbent core (621), thus facilitating the insertion of a finger between the first outer cover (421) and the second topsheet (242) for the removal action of the first absorbent body (38). This longitudinal dimension difference of the first absorbent core and the second absorbent core (621, 622) may be provided on the front side, where a smaller longitudinal dimension is maintained between the front ends of the absorbent cores (621, 622) and the absorbent assembly (20).
[0077] In Figure 2A and Figure 2B , the base elements of the absorbent assembly (20) are all shown as rectangles. Alternatively, the four edges of the elements of the absorbent assembly (20), especially the elements of the first absorbent body (38), may be rounded, such as Figures 1A to 1B and Figures 7A to 7F shown. This rounding can help avoid the first absorbent body (38) having sharp edges, which could otherwise also be well observed by the user during the removal action. To determine the dimensions T1, T2, T3, T4, L1, L2, L3, and L4, the maximum lateral dimension and the maximum longitudinal dimension of each element are measured.
[0078] Other components
[0079] The absorbent assembly (20) of the present invention may further include components that improve the leak - proofness, abrasion resistance, fit, or aesthetics of the resulting diaper product (10).
[0080] Referring to Figure 3 as well as Figure 2A and Figure 2BBelow the TX, the chassis (20) may also include components that improve the fit of the diaper product around the wearer's legs. A pair of chassis cuffs may be provided along the lateral edges of the chassis and extend in the longitudinal direction. The chassis cuffs may include a pair of inner chassis cuffs (31) and a pair of outer chassis cuffs (34). The inner chassis cuffs (31) may be formed from a piece of material (usually a non-woven fabric) that is partially adhered to the chassis backsheet (252) and may be partially raised and thus stand upright from the plane defined by the first topsheet (241). The inner chassis cuffs (31) have a free end edge intended to contact the wearer's skin and form a seal. The upright portion of the inner cuffs (31) typically includes elastic elements, such as one or more elastomers (35). The inner chassis cuffs (31) provide improved containment of liquids and other body exudates near the junction of the wearer's torso and legs. In addition to the inner chassis cuffs (31), the product may also include outer chassis cuffs (34) that are formed in the same plane as the chassis backsheet (252), which may be at least partially encapsulated between the material used to form the inner chassis cuffs (31) and the chassis backsheet (252), and may be placed laterally outward relative to the inner chassis cuffs (31). The outer chassis cuffs (34) may provide a better seal around the wearer's thighs. The outer chassis cuffs (34) may also include one or more elastomers (33). Compare Figure 2A and Figure 2B In each of the upper and lower portions separated by TX in the respective figures, the material used to form the outer chassis cuffs (34) covers portions of the chassis backsheet (252) that might otherwise be exposed. As described above, it is beneficial to avoid exposing the backsheet to the user as this provides an aesthetically pleasing finished appearance. Refer to Figure 3 , the outer chassis cuffs (34) may be formed from the chassis backsheet (252), chassis cuff material, and a plurality of outer cuff elastomers (33) sandwiched between the chassis backsheet (252) and the chassis cuff material, and wherein the inner chassis cuffs (31) may be formed from the same chassis cuff material that extends inwardly and includes a plurality of inner cuff elastomers (35).
[0081] Refer to Figure 2A , towards the front and rear ends, the second topsheet (242) may extend in the same dimensions as the chassis backsheet (252) such that there are no areas of the chassis backsheet (252) exposed towards the front and rear ends of the absorbent assembly (20). Alternatively, refer to Figure 2B , towards the front and rear ends, there may be small areas that extend longitudinally from the front and rear ends of the absorbent assembly (20) where the chassis backsheet (252) is exposed. Refer to Figure 6BWhen the diaper product is in the form of pants, such an area that was originally exposed can be covered by the outer sheet folding portion (93). Although not shown, when the diaper product is of the adhesive type, such an area that was originally exposed can be covered by a waistband attached along the front end and the rear end of the absorbent assembly (20), the waistband extending in the transverse direction and being elastic in the transverse direction.
[0082] As provided in a diaper product that typically has a single absorbent body, the chassis bottom sheet (252) and / or the chassis outer cover (422) can have a viewing original that can be seen from the clothes-facing side of the diaper product (10). Such a viewing original can be coordinated with the viewing original provided on a fastening member (e.g., an elastic band) to form a pants-type product.
[0083] The first absorbent body (38) and the second absorbent body (39) can have different aesthetics that can be recognized from the topsheet side, so that the user can distinguish the first absorbent body and the second absorbent body (38, 39), and / or be inspired by the presence of multiple absorbent bodies. For example, the first topsheet and the second topsheet (241, 242) can have different topographies, such as adhesion, embossing, and openings. For example, the adhesive used to bond the first topsheet or the second topsheet (241, 242) to the layer directly below can be provided in the form of colors and patterns, where the colors and / or patterns provided in the first absorbent body and the second absorbent body (38, 39) can be different.
[0084] Pant diaper product
[0085] Reference Figure 5A and Figure 5B and, the diaper product (10) of the present invention can be in the form of pants, where the applying member (40) is an elastic band (40), the elastic band (40) including a front band (84), a rear band (86), and a pair of side seams (32) that seal the transverse edges of the front band (84) and the rear band (86). The pants-type diaper product (10) can be as Figure 5A and Figure 5BThe pant-like diaper shown in has a front panel (84) and a back panel (86) that are discontinuous in the longitudinal direction and are assembled with an absorbent assembly (20). The front panel and the back panel (84, 86) are positioned on the garment-facing side of the absorbent assembly (20). A side seam (32) that seals the front panel and the back panel (84, 86) forms an annular panel. For the pant-like diaper, the front panel (84) may be referred to as the front region (26), the back panel (86) may be referred to as the back region (28), and the remaining portion may be referred to as the crotch region (30). The front panel and the back panel (84, 86) may be rectangular. At least one of the front panel and the back panel (84, 86) may be shaped (not shown). For the pant-like diaper, the longitudinal dimension (LB) of the back panel (86) may be greater than the longitudinal dimension (LF) of the front panel (84), and the distal edges (88) of the front panel (84) and the back panel (86) are matched for stitching so that the proximal edge (90) of the back panel (86) remains unsealed. The unsealed proximal edge of the back panel (86) may form a hip covering. Although not shown, the pant elastic (10) may be integral, with the front panel and the back panel (86) being continuous.
[0086] Reference Figure 5B , the front panel (84) and the back panel (86) may each be formed of a laminate including a plurality of elastomers (96) extending in the transverse direction. At least some of the elastomers (96) extend substantially parallel to each other in the transverse direction. Reference Figure 5B 、 Figure 6A and Figure 6B , the front panel (84) and the back panel (86) may each include a laminate including a plurality of elastomers (96) extending in the transverse direction, an inner sheet (94), an outer sheet (92), and an outer sheet fold (93), where the outer sheet fold (93) is an extension of the outer sheet material formed by folding the outer sheet material at the distal edges (88) of the front panel and the back panel; and the elastomers (96) are sandwiched between two of these sheets. The outer sheet folds (93) of the front panel and the back panel (84, 86) may sandwich the front longitudinal edge and the back longitudinal edge of some components of the absorbent assembly (20). The front elastic panel (84) and the back elastic panel (86) may each consist only of the elastomers (96), the inner sheet (94), the outer sheet (92), and the outer sheet fold (93). The elastomers (96) may be provided with the same or different deniers, spacings, and forces between the front and back and at different longitudinal positions of the panel.
[0087] Re-reference Figure 5B, the pant diaper product (10) is formed by an absorbent assembly (20), a front tape (84), and a rear tape (86), wherein the absorbent assembly (20) is positioned according to the front tape (84) and the rear tape (86) to provide good absorbency and good wearing comfort. When the seams of the pant diaper product (10) are not joined and in the flat and unshrunk state of the elastic members, the side seams and the pant diaper product (10) each have a longitudinal dimension. When the longitudinal dimension (LB) of either tape is greater than the longitudinal dimension (LF) of the other tape, the longitudinal dimension of the side seam is equal to LF. When the seams of the pant diaper product (10) are not joined and in the flat and unshrunk state of the elastic members, the longitudinal dimension between the proximal edges of the front side seam and the rear side seam may be about 40% to about 70%, preferably about 43% to about 60%, of the longitudinal dimension of the diaper product (10). By providing the pant diaper product (10) with this configuration, the absorbent assembly (20) can be properly positioned against the wearer to obtain wearing comfort.
[0088] In the case where the diaper product (10) is a tape-type pant as in Figure 5B , the distal edge of the front tape (84) and the front longitudinal end of the absorbent assembly (20) have a distance D1, and the distal edge of the rear tape (86) and the rear longitudinal end of the absorbent assembly (20) have a distance D2, and D1 can be set to be less than D2. By setting D1 less than D2, the absorbent assembly (20) can move forward, thereby effectively receiving and absorbing fluid waste.
[0089] Referring to Figure 6A and Figure 6B , the pant diaper product (10) of the present invention may have a chassis outer cover (422) disposed on the clothes-facing side of the chassis backsheet (252). The chassis outer cover (422) can be any non-woven material suitable for the above-mentioned first outer cover (421). In the case where the diaper product (10) is a tape-type pant as in Figure 5B , and there is a chassis outer cover (422), the chassis outer cover (422) may only partially extend longitudinally through the crotch region (30) in the front and rear regions (26, 28), so that the distal portions of the front tape (84) and the rear tape (86) are free of the chassis outer cover (422). That is, the longitudinal length of the chassis outer cover (422) can be longer than the distance between the front tape and the rear tape (84, 86) and shorter than the longitudinal length of the chassis backsheet (252). With this configuration, the distal portions of the front tape (84) and the rear tape (86) are free of the chassis outer cover (422), thereby providing a relatively thin overall product (10) and cost savings.
[0090] As described above, it may be advantageous to guide the user to start the removal action of the first absorbent body (38) from the front end and / or the rear end of the first absorbent body (38). Referring to the front side, the longitudinal dimensions of the components of the absorbent assembly (20) may be coordinated with the components of the front tape (84) to accommodate the removal action. Referring to Figure 2A and Figure 6A , the size of the outer sheet folding portion (93) may be set such that the front longitudinal edge of the components of the second absorbent body (39) and the chassis (100) can be sandwiched between the inner sheet (92) and the outer sheet folding portion (93), while the front longitudinal edge of the components of the first absorbent body (38) is proximal to the proximal edge of the outer sheet folding portion (93). Alternatively, referring to Figure 2B and Figure 6B , the front longitudinal edge of the components of the first absorbent body (38) may be distal to the proximal edge of the outer sheet folding portion (93) and disposed on the wearer-facing side of the outer sheet folding portion (93). In Figure 6A or Figure 6B any configuration of, the removal action of the user can be accommodated. Although not shown, the longitudinal dimensions of the components of the absorbent assembly (20) may be coordinated with the components of the rear tape (86), which has a configuration similar to that described above for the front side.
[0091] Peel strength measurement
[0092] 1. Preparation of finished product samples
[0093] Samples for the following measurements were obtained from 3 finished diaper product samples. When the product is a pant, the side seams of the pant are peeled apart. Then the product is stretched in the longitudinal direction such that any longitudinally extending elastomers (such as leg elastic members) are fully stretched, and then the product is attached to a suitable plate having at least one area of the fully stretched product via any attachment means (such as tape, adhesive, hook, etc.). Identify which side of the front or rear side ("peel side") of the first absorbent body will be peeled off from the rest of the product. Cut along the width direction (transverse direction) with scissors at 10 cm from the longitudinal edge of the first absorbent body on the peel side. The portion exposed by such cutting is the measurement edge.
[0094] 2. MTS test setup and measurement
[0095] Use an MTS Criterion Model 42 running TW Elite 4.3.1.375 software, which has a standard tensiometer or equivalent. All tests were conducted in a chamber maintained at 23°C ± 2°C and 50% ± 5% relative humidity.
[0096] The initial distance between the upper gripper and the lower gripper is set to 20 mm. Grippers with a lateral dimension greater than the width of the temporary adhesive part on both the left and right sides are selected so that the samples are peeled off simultaneously at the same horizontal level. The measurement edges of the samples are clamped by the grippers such that the upper gripper clamps the first absorbent body and the lower gripper clamps the rest of the article. The samples are set such that the lateral direction of the samples matches the horizontal direction of the device. A constant extension rate of 500 mm / min is applied. The elongation measurement is taken from the point where the program starts. The upper gripper starts to move upward while the lower gripper remains stationary, so that the first absorbent body is peeled off. The program stops when the upper gripper moves 200 mm. The machine continuously measures the force (N) at a sampling rate of 50 Hz.
[0097] The peak force is the maximum force value observed during the measurement process. The average force is the average value observed between 80 mm and 160 mm of extension. For these two values, the measurement results from 3 samples are obtained and averaged, with a precision of up to 0.01 N.
[0098] Folded thickness measurement
[0099] 1. Preparation of finished product samples
[0100] Samples for the following measurements are obtained for 3 finished diaper articles. When the article is a pant, the article is used in its original form. When the article is an adhesive diaper, the article is folded in half along the longitudinal centerline of the article. The folded longitudinal center of the article is called the "bottom".
[0101] 2. Folded thickness measurement
[0102] An Ono Sokki closed-axis foot caliper is used as the device, with feet having a diameter of 24.13 mm applying 0.689 kPa on an Ames bracket, which has a caliper instrument GS-503 or equivalent; a digital readout DG-3610 or equivalent is used to measure. All tests are conducted in a room maintained at 23°C ± 2°C and 50% ± 5% relative humidity.
[0103] Samples are obtained immediately after being taken out of a newly opened package and the following measurements are performed so that the measurements can be completed within 5 minutes after opening the package:
[0104] (1) Carefully pick up the caliper feet by hand, place the sample flat on the caliper bracket and place the caliper feet on the sample such that the caliper feet are placed 5 mm from the bottom and at the lateral center. Wait about 5 seconds and read the value. This reading is the thickness of the bottom of the article.
[0105] (2) Carefully pick up the caliper feet by hand, place the sample flat on the caliper support and place the caliper feet on the sample such that the caliper feet are placed 50 mm from the bottom and at the lateral center. Wait for about 5 seconds and read the value. This value is the thickness at the bottom of the product.
[0106] (3) Calculate the average of the values obtained in steps (1) and (2).
[0107] The folded thickness is the average of the values obtained in (3) averaged over 3 samples, accurate to 0.1 mm.
[0108] Examples
[0109] Examples 1 to 2 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 are 4-yard (L-size) pant-type diaper products, which have 2 absorbent layers and all have Figure 2A , Figure 3 , Figure 4A , Figure 5B and Figure 6A configurations and dimensions and materials as shown in Table 1 below. Examples 1 to 2 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 have peel strength characteristics as shown in Figure 8 and Table 2 below. Each of Examples 1 to 2 has a folded thickness of 11.2 mm.

[0112] Table 2
[0113]
[0114] The temporary adhesive portions of the pant-type diaper products of Examples 1 to 2 withstand the forces generated during the wearer's first use and can be torn off without damaging other components of the pant-type diaper product. The temporary adhesive portion of the pant-type diaper product of Comparative Example 1 cannot withstand the forces generated during the first use, and thus there is a risk of the first absorbent body being accidentally removed from the rest of the pant-type diaper product. The temporary adhesive portions of the pant-type diaper products of Comparative Examples 2 to 4 are so strong that the first outer cover is inadvertently damaged before the removal action is completed.
[0115] Consumer acceptance
[0116] Twelve panelists in Nanjing, China, who are users of products in a similar price range as the target consumers, were recruited. They were asked to use the product they most frequently used for 2 days (hereinafter referred to as the "baseline"), and then use the sample of the pant diaper product of Example 1 for 2 days (hereinafter referred to as "Example 1"), and answer a set of questions. Table 3 shows the results of the panelists rating the attribute of "easy to apply" on a scale of 0 to 100. Table 4 shows the percentage results of the panelists who "strongly agree" or "somewhat agree" with the statement. Table 5 shows the percentage results of the panelists who agree with these statements.
