Abstract
Description
[0001] Information related to divisional application
[0002] This case is a divisional application of the invention patent application filed on December 18, 2018, with application number 201880082478.X and invention title "Double Sealing Joint and Double Sealing Joint Assembly". Technical Field
[0003] This disclosure relates in its entirety to a double-sealed joint. More specifically, this disclosure relates to a double-sealed joint for connecting a conduit to a secondary fluid transfer component in a double-sealed joint assembly. Background Technology
[0004] Double-sealed connector assemblies are designed to connect threaded and unthreaded conduits to secondary components, such as other piping or valve assemblies. Using such assemblies facilitates the connection of concentric inner and outer plastic tubing in an arrangement, allowing the outer tubing to contain any fluid leakage from the inner tubing. While such double-sealed assemblies reduce leakage issues originating from the inner tubing itself, given the corrosive nature of chemicals and the process conditions used in semiconductor manufacturing, there is a need to develop additional sealing options for potential leaks around the junction between the conduit and the secondary component. Therefore, continued development of improved connector assemblies is desired to provide additional leak protection around the intersection between the conduit and the secondary component. Summary of the Invention
[0005] According to one aspect, a double-sealed joint may include a primary conduit having a flared end, a secondary conduit having a flared end, and a double-receptacle. The secondary conduit may surround and be concentric with a first portion of the primary conduit to form a first leakage-receiving space between the primary and secondary conduits. The double-receptacle may include a flared joint portion, a primary sealing nut portion, and a through-hole therethrough. The flared joint portion may surround and be concentric with a second portion of the primary conduit to form a second leakage-receiving space between the primary conduit and the flared joint portion. The flared joint portion may be press-fitted with the flared end of the secondary conduit to connect the first and second leakage-receiving spaces. The primary sealing nut portion may surround and be concentric with the flared end of the primary conduit to form a third leakage-receiving space between the primary conduit and the primary sealing nut portion. The primary sealing nut portion may include at least one leakage through-hole to connect the third and second leakage-receiving spaces.
[0006] According to another aspect, the double-sealed connector assembly may include a primary conduit with a flared end, a secondary conduit with a flared end, a double-receptor body, and a valve assembly annular connector body. The secondary conduit may surround and be concentric with a first portion of the primary conduit to form a first leakage-receiving space between the primary and secondary conduits. The double-receptor body may include a flared connector portion, a primary sealing nut portion, and a through-hole therethrough. The flared connector portion may surround and be concentric with a second portion of the primary conduit to form a second leakage-receiving space between the primary conduit and the flared connector portion. The flared connector portion may be press-fitted with the flared end of the secondary conduit to connect the first and second leakage-receiving spaces. The valve assembly annular connector body may include a first end, a second end, and a through-hole therethrough. The first end of the annular connector body can be threaded into the primary sealing nut portion of the double-receptor body, so that the flared end of the primary pipe is pressed and engaged within the first end of the annular connector body.
