Abstract

The application relates to a method for preparing a polyether ester thermoplastic elastomer based on aromatic polyester. The aromatic polyester is mixed with a high-boiling-point solvent and a catalyst, is heated and dissolved, and depolymerization and ring reaction of the polyester are carried out to generate a cyclic oligoester mixture, linear products are separated by standing, and the cyclic oligoester mixture is obtained after removal of the solvent by distillation; the cyclic oligoester mixture is mixed with a polyether diol, and a polyether ester multi-block copolymer is prepared by ring-opening-condensation cascade polymerization in the presence of a catalyst. The method utilizes the different solubilities of linear and cyclic oligoesters in the solvent, separates them by standing after solution cooling, simplifies the separation and purification steps, improves the efficiency, and the cyclic oligoester yield can reach 92% at most. The polyether ester multi-block copolymer obtained by the method is a high-value thermoplastic elastomer, thereby providing a recycling and high-value utilization method of aromatic polyester.
