Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present application relates to an electric field therapy system and a flexible electrode thereof. Background Art
[0002] Medium frequency alternating electric field therapy has been proven to be an effective method for tumor treatment. It can interfere with the mitosis process of cancer cells, induce apoptosis of cancer cells, and can be used to treat tumors. The electric field therapy system usually includes an electric field generator, an adapter, and multiple pairs of electrodes. The electric field generator generates an alternating electric signal and transmits the alternating electric signal to the electrode through the adapter. The electrodes are applied in pairs on the surface of the patient's skin on opposite sides, and an alternating current signal is applied between each pair of electrodes, thereby non-invasively applying a tumor treatment electric field to the target area.
[0003] During the application of the electric field, due to the existence of the induction heating phenomenon, the alternating electric field generates eddy current electricity, which intensifies the molecular movement and then generates different losses in tissues with different conductivity. The losses are transferred outward in the form of heat, and the lower the conductivity of the tissue, the greater the heat generated. The electrodes used in the electric field therapy system need to be close to the skin, which aggravates the temperature rise effect on the surface of the skin with low conductivity. The temperature of the skin should not be exposed to above 41°C for a long time. Therefore, the temperature of the skin surface needs to be monitored in real time during the electric field therapy of tumors. Existing electrodes usually use thermistors packaged with thermistor chips as temperature sensing units, and ceramic sheets as dielectric sheets for applying AC signals. The dielectric sheet made of ceramic material has a certain thickness, and an opening can be set in the center to accommodate the temperature sensing unit. The temperature sensing unit is sealed by dispensing glue in the opening. However, as polymer film materials are used as dielectric elements in electrodes, their thickness has been greatly reduced compared to traditional ceramic sheets. If traditional thermistors are still used as temperature sensing units, the temperature sensing units will protrude too far from the side of the dielectric sheet close to human skin. In addition, after the thermistor is welded and fixed, a sealing colloid must be provided outside the thermistor to seal the thermistor to prevent the DC signal of the thermistor from being non-capacitively coupled with the human body during the temperature measurement process. This will cause the sealed thermistor to protrude further from the side of the dielectric sheet close to human skin, causing discomfort when the electrode is applied to the skin.
[0004] Therefore, it is necessary to provide an electric field therapy system and a flexible electrode thereof to solve the problems existing in the prior art. Utility Model Content

[0008] Furthermore, it also includes an adhesive member arranged on the flexible circuit board, the dielectric layer is covered with an alloy layer, and the adhesive member covers the alloy layer.
[0009] Furthermore, the main body includes a main body portion, a conductive sheet disposed on a side of the main body portion facing the dielectric layer, and an insulating layer covering the main body portion and allowing a corresponding portion of the conductive sheet to be exposed.
[0010] Furthermore, part of the main body is provided with a conductive pad electrically connected to the temperature sensing unit, and the conductive pad is provided on a side of the main body facing the dielectric layer and is insulated from the conductive sheet and arranged in an interval manner.
[0011] Furthermore, the sealant has a distance of no more than 700 μm from a side of the main body facing the dielectric layer.
[0012] Furthermore, the dielectric layer is arranged on the main body in a manner of covering the insulating layer, the conductive sheet and the sealant surface of the temperature sensing unit; or the dielectric layer is arranged on the main body in a manner of covering the insulating layer and exposing the conductive sheet of the insulating layer.
[0013] Furthermore, it also includes a reinforcing plate which is arranged on the other side of the flexible circuit board and corresponds to the position of the temperature sensing unit.
[0014] Furthermore, the projection area of the reinforcement plate is not less than the projection area of the temperature sensing unit.
[0015] The present application also provides another technical solution: an electric field therapy system, which includes an electric field generator and the aforementioned flexible electrode.
[0016] The present application provides a lightweight flexible electrode, in which the maximum distance from the sealant sealing the temperature sensing unit to the surface of the dielectric layer of the main body of the flexible circuit board is no more than seven times the thickness of the main body, which can reduce the height difference from the sealant sealing the temperature sensing unit to the main body of the flexible circuit board, and avoid the temperature sensing unit protruding too much and affecting the application experience.

The electric field generator 10 generates an alternating current signal required for treatment, and the adapter 20 receives the alternating current signal output from the electric field generator 10 and transmits the alternating current signal to the flexible electrode 30, so that a therapeutic electric field for treating tumors is generated between the same pair of flexible electrodes 30.
[0029] refer to Figure 2 As shown, the flexible electrode 30 includes a backing 31, an electrode array 32 adhered to the backing 31, and a plurality of adhesive members 33 covering corresponding portions of the electrode array 32. The electrode array 32 is adhered to the body surface corresponding to the patient's tumor site through the backing 31, and an alternating electric signal is applied to the patient's tumor site to generate an alternating electric field between the paired flexible electrodes 30 for interfering with or preventing the mitosis of the patient's tumor cells, thereby achieving the purpose of treating the tumor.
[0030] The backing 31 is in sheet form and is made of a flexible, breathable insulating material. The backing 31 is soft, thin, moisture-proof, and breathable, and can keep the patient's skin surface dry after being applied to the patient's body surface for a long time. The front side of the backing 31 facing the patient's body surface is coated with a biocompatible adhesive (not shown), and can fit tightly to the patient's body surface corresponding to the tumor site.
[0031] The electrode array 32 includes a plurality of electrode units 34 arranged in an array, a plurality of connecting portions 321 connecting two adjacent electrode units 34, and a wiring portion 322 extending laterally from one of the connecting portions 321. A temperature sensing unit 347 is also provided on the corresponding electrode unit 34, and the temperature sensing unit 347 can monitor and feedback the temperature of the corresponding electrode unit 34 during the process of applying an alternating current signal to the patient by the electrode unit 34, so as to prevent excessive heat accumulation on the electrode unit 34 during the tumor electric field treatment process and cause low-temperature burns to the patient's body surface skin. In this embodiment, the electrode array 32 includes 9 circular electrode units 34 arranged in a matrix of three rows and three columns. The adjacent two electrode units 34 in each column upward along the column are connected by the corresponding connecting portion 321, and the adjacent two electrode units 34 located only in the middle row upward along the row are connected by the corresponding connecting portion 321. A plurality of gold fingers 3221 are respectively arranged on the front and back sides of the wiring part 322 to avoid being arranged on the same side so as to make the wiring part 322 too large in width direction and occupy the space between the electrode units 34. A reasonable spacing is arranged between the gold fingers 3221 to avoid problems such as short circuit or signal coupling caused by too close distance. Among the nine electrode units 34 of the electrode array 32, except for the electrode unit 34 located in the second row and the second column, the other electrode units 34 are all provided with one of the above-mentioned temperature sensing units 347, that is, the electrode array 32 is provided with a total of 8 temperature sensing units 347.
[0032] Combination Figure 4 and Figure 5 As shown, Figure 4 for Figure 3 The cross-section along the AA direction, Figure 5 for Figure 4 The electrode unit 34 includes a flexible main body 341, a conductive sheet 342 disposed on the skin-facing side of the main body 341, an insulating layer 343 disposed on the conductive sheet 342 and partially exposing the conductive sheet 342, and a dielectric layer 344 disposed on the insulating layer 343 and the conductive sheet 342 exposing the insulating layer 343. [0033] The main body 341 has the characteristics of light weight, thin thickness, bendability, high deflection, etc. In this embodiment, the main body 341 is made of polyimide or polyester film material. The main body 341 is arranged in a circular sheet shape and has a thickness of no more than 300 μm. Preferably, the thickness of the main body 341 is 100 μm-300 μm.
[0034] refer to Figure 6 As shown, the conductive sheet 342 is arranged on the main body 341, which is in a circular sheet structure and is arranged concentrically with the main body 341. The conductive sheet 342 is located within the range of the outer contour of the main body 341 so as to obtain full support of the main body 341, while avoiding the risk of leakage caused by the exposure of the conductive sheet 342. Preferably, the distance between the outer contour of the conductive sheet 342 and the outer contour of the main body 341 is 1.2mm-2.5mm. The conductive sheet 342 also has an opening 3421 located at its center and arranged through it. The conductive sheet 342 also has one or more groove-shaped avoidance portions 3422 extending radially and connecting the opening 3421 and its outer periphery. The avoidance portions 3422 penetrate the conductive sheet 342 in the thickness direction and radial direction of the conductive sheet 342.
[0035] The electrode unit 34 further includes a first conductive trace (not shown) disposed on the back of the main body 341 and a second conductive trace 348 disposed on the front of the main body 341. The first conductive trace (not shown) is electrically connected to the first conductive pad 3461, and the second conductive trace 348 is electrically connected to the second conductive pad 3462. The second conductive trace 348 extends radially outward from the connection between the second conductive pad 3462 and extends out of the main body 341 through the avoidance portion 3422. The second conductive trace 348 is partially located in the avoidance portion 3422 and is spaced apart from the conductive sheet 342. In this embodiment, the first conductive trace (not shown) is a signal line of the temperature sensing unit 347, and the second conductive trace 348 is a ground line of the temperature sensing unit 347. The electrode unit 34 further includes a covering film 349 disposed on the back of the main body 341 and covering the first conductive trace (not shown) to prevent the first conductive trace (not shown) from being exposed.
[0036] The connection portion 321 has a connection bar (not shown) connected to the main body 341 of the electrode unit 34, and a trace (not shown) arranged on the connection bar (not shown) and electrically connected to the first conductive trace (not shown), the second conductive trace 348 and the conductive sheet 342 on the electrode unit 34. The connection portion 322 also has a connection bar (not shown) connected to the connection bar (not shown) of the connection portion 321, and a trace (not shown) arranged on the connection bar (not shown) and electrically connected to the first conductive trace (not shown), the second conductive trace 348 and the conductive sheet 342 on the electrode unit 34 through the trace (not shown) of the connection portion 321. The connection portion 321 and the connection portion 322 also have insulating films 3210 and 3220 corresponding to and integrally formed with the insulating layer 343 of the electrode unit 34, respectively, and the connection portion 321 and the connection portion 322 also have insulating films (not shown) integrally formed with the cover film 349 of the electrode unit 34, respectively.
[0037] The main body 341 of the electrode unit 34, the conductive sheet 342 and the conductive pad 346 provided on the main body 341, the first conductive trace (not shown) and the second conductive trace 348 respectively arranged on the two opposite sides of the main body 341, the insulating layer 343 provided on the corresponding parts of the main body 341 and the conductive sheet 342, the covering film 349 provided on the back side of the main body 341 and covering the first conductive trace (not shown), and the connecting portion 321 and the wiring portion 322 together constitute the flexible circuit board 320 of the electrode array 32. The main body 341 of the electrode unit 34, the conductive sheet 342 and the conductive pad 346 disposed on the main body 341, the first conductive trace (not shown) and the second conductive trace 348 disposed on opposite sides of the main body 341, respectively, the insulating layer 343 disposed on the corresponding parts of the main body 341 and the conductive sheet 342, and the cover film 349 disposed on the back of the main body 341 and covering the first conductive trace (not shown) together constitute the main body (not numbered) of the flexible circuit board 320. The main body has a thickness between about 0.1 mm and 0.5 mm, the dielectric layer has a thickness between about 6% and 9% of the thickness of the main body, and the sealant has a maximum distance to the surface of the main body where the dielectric layer is disposed that is not more than seven times the thickness of the main body.
[0038] refer to Figure 7 As shown, Figure 7The shaded area in the figure indicates the specific structure of the insulating layer 343. The insulating layer 343 is disposed on the main body 341 and is generally arranged in a hub shape, and includes a hollow circular first insulating portion 3431 covering the conductive pad 346, a second insulating portion 3432 radially extending outward from the outer periphery of the first insulating portion 3431 and arranged in a cross shape, and a third insulating portion 3433 located at the periphery of the second insulating portion 3432. The outer contour of the first insulating portion 3431 roughly overlaps with the inner contour of the conductive sheet 342 located at the opening 3421, and the inner contour of the first insulating portion 3431 covers the outer edge of the conductive pad 346 and exposes part of the conductive pad 346. The first insulating portion 3431 can quickly locate the installation position of the temperature sensing unit 347, which helps to accurately and quickly install the temperature sensing unit 347. The second insulating portion 3432 is located on the conductive sheet 342, and can completely cover the second conductive trace 348 and the avoidance portion 3422 of the conductive sheet 342 disposed on the front of the main body 341. The thickness of the insulating layer 343 is 10 μm-50 μm, and the thickness of the main body 341 is 2 to 30 times the thickness of the insulating layer 343 .
[0039] Back to Figure 5 As shown, the temperature sensing unit 347 includes a bare chip 3471 and a lead 3472. The bare chip 3471 has a first conductive layer 3473 located on the bottom surface thereof and a second conductive layer 3474 located on the top surface thereof. The first conductive layer 3473 of the bare chip 3471 is welded to the first conductive pad 3461, and the second conductive layer 3474 is electrically connected to the second conductive pad 3462 through the lead 3472, so that the temperature sensing unit 347 is selectively disposed on the part of the main body 323 of the flexible circuit board 320. The projection area of the bare chip 3471 is slightly smaller than the area of the first conductive pad 3461 connected thereto, so that the bare chip 3471 is provided with bottom support through the first conductive pad 3461 to prevent the bare chip 3471 from being damaged due to the bending of the flexible electrode 30. Specifically, the bare chip 3471 and the first conductive pad 3461 are bonded and fixed by conductive silver paste (not shown), and the conductive silver paste (not shown) is evenly applied to the bottom and surrounding of the bare chip 3471, and the height of the conductive silver paste (not shown) around the bare chip 3471 does not exceed 1 / 2 of the height of the bare chip 3471. The conductive silver paste (not shown) has excellent conductivity and can achieve fixed connection and electrical connection between the bare chip 3471 and the first conductive pad 3461. The first insulating portion 3431 can also play the role of solder resistance to prevent the conductive silver paste (not shown) from flowing to the edge of the conductive sheet 342 at the opening 3421 during the welding process to cause a short circuit; at the same time, it avoids affecting the subsequent setting of the dielectric layer 344.
[0040] The temperature sensing unit 347 also includes a sealant 3475 covering the bare chip 3471 and the lead 3472. The sealant 3475 encapsulates the bare chip 3471 and the lead 3472 as a whole on the main body 341, which can ensure the safety of the bare chip 3471 and the reliability of the bonding of the lead 3472. The sealant 3475 is arranged in an approximately hemispherical shape, and its bottom in contact with the first insulating part 3431 does not exceed the outer peripheral contour of the first insulating part 3431 to prevent the sealant 3475 from flowing onto the conductive sheet 342 and affecting the electrical connection between the conductive sheet 342 and the dielectric layer 344, that is, the contact area between the bottom of the sealant 3475 and the first insulating part 3431 is located in the area surrounded by the outer peripheral contour of the first insulating part 3431. The sealant 3475 can use a curing agent with a low expansion coefficient, low water absorption rate and low fluidity, which can prevent it from flowing onto the conductive sheet 342 when sealing the bare chip 3471, the lead 3472 and the corresponding conductive pad 346, thereby affecting the surface flatness of the conductive sheet 342, causing the conductive sheet 342 to be uneven and affecting the subsequent setting of the dielectric layer 344. The sealant 3475 can preferably use a curing sealant with low fluidity and biosafety, which can be cured and formed by high temperature or light of a specific wavelength, and has excellent shock resistance and electrical corrosion resistance after forming. The material of the sealant 3475 is preferably modified epoxy resin. The maximum distance from the top of the sealant 3475 to the surface of the main body 341 facing the sealant 3475 side does not exceed 700μm, so as to avoid the temperature sensor unit 347 protruding too much from the surface of the electrode unit 34, causing the adhesive 33 and the electrode unit 34 to be unevenly attached, thereby affecting the adhesion effect between the adhesive 33 and the electrode unit 34, resulting in poor attachment experience and other problems. Compared with the traditional method of using a chip-packaged thermistor as a temperature sensing unit, in which the thermistor is welded and fixed and then a sealing colloid is set outside the thermistor to seal the thermistor, the temperature sensing unit 347 is formed by directly using a bare chip 3471 and packaging it with a sealant 3475, which can reduce the height of the temperature sensing unit 347 and improve the comfort of application.
[0041] The main body 341 is also provided with a reinforcing plate 350 on the side facing away from the skin and at the position corresponding to the position of the temperature sensing unit 347. The reinforcing plate 350 can provide support to facilitate the temperature sensing unit 347 to be arranged on the main body 341 by using the surface mounting process. The reinforcing plate 350 is preferably made of polyimide or FR-4, and its thickness is 0.05mm-1mm. In the orthographic projection direction, the projection area of the reinforcing plate 350 is not less than the projection area of the temperature sensing unit 347, and can provide rigid support during the use of the flexible electrode 30 to avoid the breakage of the lead 3472, the detachment of the connection between the lead 3472 and the conductive pad 346 and the bare chip 3471, and the detachment of the connection between the bare chip 3471 and the conductive pad 346 when the flexible electrode 30 is bent. However, the reinforcing plate 350 is not necessarily provided. In other embodiments, the reinforcing plate 350 can also be replaced by appropriately increasing the thickness of the main body 341.
[0042] The dielectric layer 344 is laid on the insulating layer 343, the conductive sheet 342 exposed from the insulating layer 343, and the sealant 3475 of the temperature sensing unit 347. The dielectric layer 344 completely covers the conductive sheet 342 to prevent the conductive sheet 342 from directly contacting the human body, thereby causing non-capacitive coupling between the electrode unit 34 and the human body and affecting the safety of the human body. Preferably, the area of the dielectric layer 344 is 1.1 to 1.3 times the area of the conductive sheet 342. The size of the dielectric layer 344 is slightly smaller than the size of the main body 341, that is, the dielectric layer 344 is located in the area surrounded by the outer contour of the main body 341, so that the dielectric layer 344 can obtain full support from the main body 341. The dielectric layer 344 is a polymer dielectric layer with a high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss, which is made of a thin film material with non-fixed crystal orientation, high flexibility and high toughness. In this embodiment, the material of the dielectric layer 344 is a polymer with a dielectric constant of not less than 20 and a dielectric strength of not less than 40V / μm to avoid breakdown under normal applied voltage. The polymer is a polymer with relaxor ferroelectric behavior, which can be a vinyl fluoride polymer, such as P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE), P(VDF-TrFE-CFE) or P(VDF-TrFE-CFE-CTFE); or a polyamide composite material, such as piperazine-biuret copolymer polyamide. The dielectric layer 344 can be formed on the surface of the conductive sheet 342, the insulating layer 343 and the sealant 3475 of the temperature sensing unit 347 by evaporation, sputtering or ion plating vapor deposition, and can also be formed on the surface of the conductive sheet 342, the insulating layer 343 and the sealant 3475 of the temperature sensing unit 347 by printing, spraying or casting. The thickness of the dielectric layer 344 is 3 μm-10 μm, and the thickness of the main body 341 is 10 to 100 times the thickness of the dielectric layer 344 .
[0043] The alloy layer 345 is disposed on the dielectric layer 344, and the adhesive member 33 is disposed on the alloy layer 345. The alloy layer 345 is used as an auxiliary layer to increase the conductivity between the dielectric layer 344 and the adhesive member 33. The size of the alloy layer 345 is slightly smaller than the size of the dielectric layer 344, that is, the alloy layer 345 is located in the area surrounded by the outer peripheral contour of the dielectric layer 344. The material of the alloy layer 345 can be one or more of zinc-aluminum alloy, zinc-copper alloy, silver-titanium, or graphite. The alloy layer 345 can be deposited on the surface of the dielectric layer 344 using a vapor deposition method. The thickness of the alloy layer 345 is inversely proportional to its dielectric loss, that is, the thicker the alloy layer 345, the lower its dielectric loss; the thickness of the alloy layer 345 is inversely proportional to the bonding tightness of the dielectric layer 344, that is, the thicker the alloy layer 345, the lower its bonding tightness with the dielectric layer 344. In order to obtain an electrode unit 34 with lower dielectric loss and stronger compactness, the thickness of the dielectric layer 344 is preferably 50 to 500 times the thickness of the alloy layer 345. The thickness of the alloy layer 345 is not greater than 100 nm, preferably 3 nm to 100 nm, to ensure good and stable bonding between the alloy layer 345 and the dielectric layer 344 while ensuring low dielectric loss through the alloy layer 345.
[0044] The adhesive member 33 is in the form of a double-sided adhesive sheet. One side of the adhesive member 33 is attached to the electrode unit 34, and the other side of the adhesive member 33 is used as an application layer and applied to the skin on the human body surface to keep the skin surface moist and relieve local pressure. The adhesive member 33 is preferably a conductive adhesive member to act as a conductive medium. Specifically, the adhesive member 33 is a conductive hydrogel.
[0045] The flexible electrode 30 also includes a wire (not shown) electrically connected to the wiring portion 322 of the electrode array 32. The end of the wire (not shown) away from the wiring portion 322 is provided with a plug (not shown) electrically connected to the adapter 20. The adapter 20 is electrically connected to the electric field generator 10 to transmit the alternating electric signal generated by the electric field generator 10 to each flexible electrode 30, so that a therapeutic electric field for treating tumors is generated between the same pair of flexible electrodes 30.
[0046] The flexible electrode 30 also includes a release paper (not shown) pasted on the outside of the adhesive member 33 and the backing 31 to protect the backing 31 and the adhesive member 33 and prevent the backing 31 and the adhesive member 33 from being contaminated. The flexible electrode 30 can be covered on the adhesive member 33 and the backing 31 by only one piece of release paper (not shown), or can be covered on the adhesive member 33 and the backing 31 by two or more pieces of release paper (not shown). When in use, tear off the release paper (not shown) and stick the flexible electrode 30 on the body surface corresponding to the tumor site of the human body.
[0047] The above is only a preferred implementation mode of the present application and is not intended to limit the present application. Any modifications, equivalent substitutions, improvements, etc. made within the spirit and principles of the present application should be included in the scope of protection of the present application.
