Abstract
Description
VEHICLE FRONT PART STRUCTURE
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a vehicle front end assembly.
[0002] An electric car or the like that uses an electric motor as a power source is equipped with a battery unit. For example, in WO 2014 - 034 377 A, a battery unit is mounted under the floor of the passenger compartment (underfloor structure).
[0003] In one circuit, an electric power conversion unit with a DC-DC converter for performing boost / buck operation and an inverter for DC / AC conversion is provided between the electric rotating machine and the battery pack. When the electric rotating machine and the electric power conversion unit are mounted in an engine compartment at the front of the vehicle, a high-voltage cable is drawn from the rear surface of the electric power conversion unit. This high-voltage cable extends rearward and downward and is connected to the front surface of the battery pack located under the floor. This means that the high-voltage cable is arranged in an S-shape in a side view, with the right side being assumed to be the front of the vehicle.
[0004] Furthermore, front wheels are arranged on respective sides of the engine compartment, and a suspension element, which serves as a framework for suspending the front wheels, is provided under the engine compartment. If the battery unit is mounted under the floor, the suspension element is positioned in front of the battery unit.
[0005] For a better understanding of the present invention, reference is further made to WO 2014 - 167 976 A1, JP 2017 - 197 018 A, and JP 2006 - 240 325 A. It is an object of WO 2014 - 167 976 A1 to provide "a contactless power supply device capable of accurately aligning a power receiving portion on a vehicle side with a power supply portion on a road surface side so that they face each other with steering feel, in a manner that enables the vehicle to be parked at a predetermined stop position in a parking space."It is also the object of JP 2017 - 197 018 A to provide "a vehicle battery fixing structure that can prevent damage to cables", and the object of WO 2014 - 167 976 A1 to provide "a non-contact power supply device that can correctly align the power supply unit on the road side and the power receiving unit on the vehicle side so that they face each other, with the same feeling as when parking the vehicle in a certain stop position in a parking space".
[0006] During a vehicle frontal collision (hereinafter referred to as a "frontal collision"), the suspension member is pushed and repelled by an obstacle. At this time, the high-voltage cable becomes entangled between the suspension member and the battery unit, which may result in damage to the cable. Accordingly, it is an object of the present disclosure to provide a vehicle front end structure in which entanglement of the high-voltage cable between the suspension member and the battery unit during a frontal collision can be prevented.
[0007] The present disclosure relates to a vehicle front part structure. According to a first aspect of the present disclosure, a vehicle front part structure includes a battery unit, an electric power conversion unit, a suspension member, and a high-voltage cable. The battery unit is arranged under the floor of a vehicle compartment. The electric power conversion unit is arranged in an engine compartment in front of the vehicle compartment. The suspension member is arranged under the electric power conversion unit and in front of the battery unit. The high-voltage cable extends upward and forward from a front surface of the battery unit and is connected to the electric power conversion unit. Two floor-side extension members are formed, in the vehicle width direction, on at least a lower surface of a lower partition panel or a floor panel forming the floor of the vehicle compartment.a floor plate arranged to protrude downward in front of the front surface of the battery unit with the high-voltage cable interposed therebetween. Two component-side extension members are arranged to protrude upward at positions facing the two floor-side extension members in the vehicle longitudinal direction at a rear end edge of the suspension member. The vehicle front part structure is characterized in that opposite sides of the two floor-side extension members and the two component-side extension members, which are opposite to each other in the vehicle longitudinal direction, are inclined surfaces inclined downward toward the rear of the vehicle, and the opposite sides of the two component-side extension members are inclined to be more horizontal than the opposite sides of the two floor-side extension members.
[0008] According to the above structure, when the suspension member is retracted during a frontal collision, the component-side extension members and the floor-side extension members collide before the rear surface of the suspension member collides with the front surface of the battery unit. Therefore, a gap is formed between the rear surface of the suspension member and the front surface of the battery unit, preventing the high-voltage cable from becoming entangled between them.
[0009] After the floor-side extension members and the component-side extension members collide with each other according to the above-mentioned structure, the suspension member is deflected downward and rearward (diagonally downward) along the slope of the opposing surfaces. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the suspension member from intruding into the passenger compartment.
[0010] Due to the support structure of the suspension member, during a frontal impact, the suspension member is sometimes retracted such that the rear end of the suspension member is inclined downward; this means that the opposing surfaces of the component-side extension members are raised. Accordingly, it becomes possible to make the opposing surfaces of the component-side extension members and the opposing surfaces of the floor-side extension members parallel to each other by pre-designing the opposing surfaces of the component-side extension members to be more horizontal than the opposing surfaces of the floor-side extension members when the suspension member is retracted.
[0011] According to an advantageous development of the present disclosure, the two bottom-side extension elements in the above disclosure can be provided under a portion of at least one lower partition plate or splash plate or a floor plate on which a reinforcing element is provided on its upper surface.
[0012] Although installation positions of the floor-side extension members may protrude toward the interior of the passenger compartment on at least one of the lower partition panel and the floor panel upon impact of the component-side extension members on the floor-side extension members during a frontal collision, it becomes possible to prevent such protrusion and reduction of the space of the passenger compartment by arranging the installation positions below the portion of either the lower partition panel or the floor panel on the upper surface of which the reinforcement member is present.
[0013] According to a second aspect of the present disclosure, a vehicle front end assembly includes a battery unit, an electric power conversion unit, a suspension member, and a high-voltage cable. The battery unit is disposed under the floor of the passenger compartment. The electric power conversion unit is disposed in an engine compartment in front of the passenger compartment. The suspension member is disposed under the electric power conversion unit and in front of the battery unit. The high-voltage cable extends upward and forward from a front surface of the battery unit and is connected to the electric power conversion unit.A floor-side extension member comprises two floor-side protrusion portions arranged in the vehicle width direction on a lower surface of at least one lower partition panel or a floor panel forming the floor of the passenger compartment, the two floor-side protrusion portions protruding downward in front of the front surface of the battery unit with the high-voltage cable arranged therebetween. A component-side extension member comprises two component-side protrusion portions, the two component-side protrusion portions protruding upward in the vehicle longitudinal direction at a rear end edge of the suspension member at positions facing the two floor-side protrusion portions. The vehicle front part structure is characterized in that opposite sides of the two floor-side extension elements and the two component-side extension elements, which are opposite to each other in the vehicle longitudinal direction, are inclined surfaces inclined downwards towards the vehicle rear, and the opposite sides of the two component-side extension elements are inclined so as to be more horizontal than the opposite sides of the two floor-side extension elements.
[0014] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to prevent the high-voltage cable from being caught between the suspension member and the battery unit at the time of a frontal collision.
[0015] Embodiments of the present disclosure are described with reference to the following figures, wherein: Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing a vehicle front part structure according to the present embodiment; Fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view illustrating the vehicle front part structure according to the present embodiment; Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing a rear portion of the vehicle front body structure according to the present embodiment; Fig. 4 a sectioned side view along the line AA in Fig. 3 is; Fig. Figure 5 is a side view illustrating the behavior of a suspension element at the time of a frontal impact; Fig. 6 is a side view (1 / 3) illustrating conditions surrounding component-side extension and floor-side extension during a frontal impact; Fig. Figure 7 is a side view (2 / 3) illustrating conditions surrounding component-side extension and floor-side extension during a frontal impact; Fig. 8 is a side view (3 / 3) illustrating the conditions surrounding the component-side extension and the floor-side extension during a frontal impact; and Fig. 9 is a perspective view illustrating a vehicle front part structure according to another aspect of the present embodiment.
[0016] Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a vehicle front part structure according to the present embodiment, and Fig. 2 shows an exploded perspective view of the vehicle front end structure.
[0017] In Fig. 1 to Fig. 8, the axis indicated by the designation FR represents the vehicle's longitudinal direction, and the axis indicated by the designation RB represents the vehicle's width direction. The axis indicated by the designation OB represents the height direction. The designation FR is an abbreviation for "front," and with respect to the longitudinal direction axis FR, the vehicle front is assumed to be the positive direction. The designation RB is an abbreviation for "right width," and with respect to the width direction axis RB, the right width direction is assumed to be the positive direction. In addition, the direction with respect to the height axis OB is assumed to be the positive upward direction.
[0018] As in Fig. 1, the FR axis, the RB axis, and the OB axis are perpendicular to each other. Hereinafter, the front part of the vehicle according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to these three axes as appropriate. For example, a "front end" refers to an end portion of any member located on the positive direction side of the FR axis, and a "rear end" refers to an end portion of any member located on the negative direction side of the FR axis. The "widthwise inner side" refers to a relative inner side in the vehicle width direction along the RB axis, and the "widthwise outer side" refers to the relative outer side in the vehicle width direction along the RB axis. Furthermore, unless expressly stated otherwise, the "widthwise direction" refers to the vehicle widthwise direction.Furthermore, the “top” refers to the side of the relatively positive direction of the OB axis, and the “bottom” refers to the side of the relatively negative direction of the OB axis.
[0019] The Fig. 1 and Fig. The vehicle front end assembly shown in Figure 2 is mounted in an electric car that uses an electric machine 10 as a power source. The vehicle front end assembly includes front side members 12, 12, an electrical power system assembly 14, a suspension member 16, and a battery pack 18.
[0020] The front side members 12, 12 are two framework members arranged on corresponding sides in the vehicle width direction (right and left), and each member extends rearward from the front end of the vehicle. For example, the front side members 12, 12 extend from an engine compartment 20 at the front of the vehicle to a front portion of the passenger compartment 22 (cabin) behind the engine compartment 20.
[0021] The electrical power system assembly 14 and the suspension member 16 are mounted in the engine compartment 20. The electrical power system assembly 14 is an assembly in which numerous high-voltage devices are assembled. The electrical power system assembly 14 is formed by assembling the electric rotary machine 10, a charging unit 24, and an electrical power converter unit 26 on an engine compartment cross member 28.
[0022] The electric machine 10 is, for example, a drive source of the vehicle and is mounted on the underside of the engine compartment cross member 28. The electric machine 10 consists, for example, of a permanent magnet synchronous motor.
[0023] The charging unit 24 and the electrical power converter unit 26 are mounted on the top of the engine compartment cross member 28. The charging unit 24 is connected, for example, to a charging port (not shown) and can be charged, for example, from a charging station outside the vehicle.
[0024] The electrical power conversion unit 26 is connected between the electric machine 10 and the battery unit 18 and performs electrical power conversion. The electrical power conversion unit 26 is configured to include, for example, an inverter for converting between alternating current and direct current and a DC-DC converter for performing step-up / step-down operations. The electrical power conversion unit 26 accommodates the inverter and the DC-DC converter in, for example, a cuboid-shaped housing. Furthermore, the rear surface of the housing is connected to a high-voltage cable 30 connected to the battery unit 18. Furthermore, the lower surface of the housing is connected to the high-voltage cable 30 (not shown) connected to the electrical machine 10.
[0025] The engine compartment cross member 28 is a framework element attached to the two right and left front side members 12, 12. For example, the engine compartment cross member 28 is a frame element with a substantially rectangular shape and has an opening formed in its center such that it penetrates vertically. The high-voltage cable (not shown) connecting the electric machine 10 and the electric power converter unit 26 passes through this opening.
[0026] The electric machine 10, the charging unit 24, and the electric power converter unit 26 are mounted on the engine compartment cross member 28 to form the electric power system assembly 14. In the vehicle assembly step, the electric power system assembly 14 is lifted from below. After aligning the height positions of the engine compartment cross member 28 and the front side members 12, 12, the engine compartment cross member 28 is then attached to the front side members 12, 12 by brackets (not shown). As a result of such assembly, the electric power converter unit 26 is formed as shown in Fig. 1 shown positioned above the front longitudinal members 12.
[0027] The suspension element 16 is positioned under the electrical power system assembly 14 with the electrical power converter unit 26. Furthermore, the suspension element 16 is as shown in Fig. 1 is provided in front of the battery unit 18. This means that the suspension element 16 is positioned so that it is aligned with the battery unit 18 in height (height direction).
[0028] The suspension member 16 is a framework member for suspending the front wheels (not shown). The suspension member 16 has a shape of approximately parallel crosses, and both widthwise sides of the front end portion and both widthwise sides of the rear end portion are shaped to protrude outward in the width direction. Beam members 32A and 32B are respectively fixed to both widthwise sides of the front end portion and both widthwise sides of the rear end portion. The beam members 32A and 32B are further fixed to the lower surface of the front side members 12, 12. That is, the suspension member 16 is suspended and supported by the front side members 12 via the beam members 32A and 32B.
[0029] Furthermore, two component-side extensions 34, 34 (component-side extension elements) are provided at the rear end of the suspension element 16. As shown in Fig. 4, the component-side extension 34 is attached from a rear end of the upper surface 16A to an upper end of the rear surface 16B of the suspension member 16 and fixed so as to be hooked to the rear end of the suspension member 16.
[0030] For example, the component-side extension 34 is a substantially box-shaped rigid member made of a metal material such as aluminum, and an opening in the box-shaped member is covered with the rear end of the upper surface 16A and the upper end of the rear surface 16B of the suspension member 16 to form a closed profile structure.
[0031] The component-side extension 34 may be secured to the suspension member 16 by a fastener such as nuts and bolts, or may be connected to the suspension member 16 by, for example, welding. Additionally, the component-side extension 34 may be formed as a portion of the suspension member 16 by machining the rear end of the suspension member 16 to protrude upward.
[0032] The component-side extension 34 protrudes upward from the upper surface of the suspension element 16. Furthermore, the component-side extensions 34, 34 are as shown in Fig. 1 shown at positions opposite the floor-side extensions 36, 36 in the vehicle longitudinal direction at a rear end edge 16C of the suspension element 16. Related to Fig. 4, the rear end edge 16C of the suspension member 16 is an edge or ridge that defines the boundary between the rear end of the upper surface 16A and the upper end of the rear surface 16B of the suspension member 16, and the component-side extensions 34, 34 are arranged on the ridge. With reference to Fig. 3, the component-side extensions 34, 34 are further provided in the vehicle width direction with the high-voltage cable 30 arranged therebetween.
[0033] Related to Fig. 4, opposing sides or facing surfaces 34A are formed opposite the bottom-side extensions 36 in the vehicle longitudinal direction on the component-side extensions 34. The opposing sides 34A are inclined surfaces inclined downward toward the rear of the vehicle. As described below, by using an inclined surface as the opposing sides 34A, it is possible to push the suspension member 16 toward the bottom of the vehicle at the time of a frontal impact.
[0034] In addition, an inclination angle θ1 of the opposing sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 with respect to the horizontal surface is formed to be smaller than an inclination angle θ2 of the opposing sides 36A of the bottom-side extensions 36 with respect to the horizontal surface. That is, the opposing sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 are inclined to be more shallow than the opposing sides 36A of the bottom-side extensions 36A.
[0035] Accordingly, when the rear end of the suspension member 16 is inclined downward and the opposite sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 are raised during a frontal collision as described below, the opposite sides 36A of the floor-side extensions 36 and the opposite sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 are aligned in parallel in a side view by forming the opposite sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 to be inclined more gently than the opposite sides 36A of the floor-side extensions 36A.
[0036] Related to Fig. 1, the passenger compartment 22 is separated by a floor panel 38 and a partition panel 40. The partition panel 40 includes an upper partition panel 40A, which is an upper panel, and a lower partition panel 40B, which is a lower panel.
[0037] The upper partition plate 40A is approximately vertical. The upper end of the lower partition plate 40B is connected to the lower end of the upper partition plate 40A and extends therefrom in a curved shape in a side view. The lower partition plate 40B is bent from a vertical shape into an arc or slope shape, and its rear end becomes approximately horizontal and is connected to the front end of the floor plate 38.
[0038] The lower partition plate 40B functions as a so-called foot plate, on which the feet of a passenger in the front seat rest. Due to this function, the floor plate of the passenger compartment 22 is composed of the lower partition plate 40B and the floor plate 28.
[0039] A floor tunnel 39 is formed at the center in the width direction of the lower partition plate 40B and the floor plate 38. If an internal combustion engine is mounted in the vehicle, an exhaust pipe extends through this floor tunnel 39. For an electric car in which no internal combustion engine is mounted, the exhaust pipe is unnecessary, and therefore, for example, a battery control unit (ECU) 42 for monitoring and controlling a battery is mounted in the floor tunnel 39.
[0040] Furthermore, the floor tunnel 39 is related to Fig. 3 is reinforced by a reinforcing element called a tunnel reinforcement 44. The tunnel reinforcement 44 covers the floor tunnel 39 and extends in the width direction on both sides of the floor tunnel 39 (on the upper surface of the lower partition plate 40B and on the floor panel 38) to the floor panel areas. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, the bottom extensions 36, 36 are arranged below these extending portions. That is, the bottom extensions 36, 36 are arranged below a portion of at least the lower partition plate 40B or the floor plate 38 forming the floor panel, with the reinforcement element (tunnel reinforcement 44) provided on its upper surface.
[0041] Back to Fig. 1, the battery unit 18 is positioned beneath the floor of the passenger compartment, i.e., beneath the floor panel 38. Numerous battery cells (electric cells) are mounted in the battery unit 18. The battery cell consists, for example, of a lithium-ion battery, a nickel-hydrogen battery, or a solid-state battery. For example, numerous battery cells are connected in parallel to form a battery group, and numerous battery groups are further connected in series.
[0042] The high-voltage cable 30 is connected to the width direction center of a front surface 18A of the battery unit 18 (see Fig. 4). The high-voltage cable 30 extends upward and forward from the front surface 18A of the battery unit 18 and is connected to the electrical power converter unit 26 of the electrical power system assembly 14. For example, the high-voltage cable 30 is as shown in Fig. 1 shown placed in an inverted S-shape in a side view, with the left side being assumed to be the front of the vehicle.
[0043] The two floor extensions 36, 36 (floor extension members) are provided on the lower surface of the lower partition plate 40B, which is a portion of the floor panel forming the floor of the passenger compartment 22. The floor extensions 36, 36 are provided in front of the front surface 18A of the battery unit 18. Thus, the floor extensions 36 are as shown in Fig. 4, for example, on the lower surface of the lower partition plate 40B such that at least the opposite sides 36A, which are opposite to the component-side extensions 34, are located in front of the front surface 18A of the battery unit 18.
[0044] Although the bottom extensions 36, 36 in the example in Fig. 1 are provided on the lower surface of the lower partition plate 40B, the present embodiment is not limited to this form. In summary, the floor-side extensions 36, 36 only need to be provided on the lower surface of the floor of the passenger compartment 22 so as to be located in front of the front surface 18A of the battery unit 18. Specifically, the floor-side extensions 36, 36 only need to be provided on the lower surface of at least one of the lower partition plate 40B and the floor plate 38 constituting the floor of the passenger compartment 22 so as to be located in front of the front surface 18A of the battery unit 18. For example, the floor-side extensions 36, 36 may be provided on the lower surface of the floor plate 38 or across the lower surfaces of both the lower partition plate 40B and the floor plate 38.
[0045] The bottom-side extensions 36 project downward from the lower surface of the lower partition plate 40B such that the opposing sides 36A are opposite the opposing sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 in the vehicle longitudinal direction. For example, the component-side extensions 36, 36 are substantially box-shaped rigid elements made of a metallic material such as aluminum, and an opening in the box-shaped element is covered with the lower partition plate 40B to form a closed profile structure.
[0046] With reference to Fig. 4, the opposing sides 36A of the bottom-side extensions 36 are inclined surfaces that slope downward toward the rear of the vehicle. As described below, these inclined surfaces act as sliding surfaces during a frontal impact to push the suspension element 16 toward the bottom. To ensure that the suspension element 16 is pushed downward, an inclination angle θ2 of the opposing sides 36A with respect to the horizontal surface can be nearly vertical, such as greater than 90 degrees and less than 135 degrees (90 degrees < θ2 < 135 degrees).
[0047] Furthermore, as described above, the inclination angle θ2 of the opposing sides 36A of the bottom-side extensions 36 with respect to the horizontal surface is formed to be larger than the inclination angle θ1 of the opposing sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 with respect to the horizontal surface.
[0048] Referring to Fig. 3, the floor-side extensions 36, 36 are provided on the lower surface of the lower partition plate 40B in the vehicle width direction, with the high-voltage cable 30 arranged therebetween. For example, the floor-side extensions 36, 36 are provided at the boundary portion of the floor tunnel 39 on the floor surface of the passenger compartment 22. <Verhalten während eines Frontalaufpralls>
[0049] The behavior of the vehicle front part structure according to the present embodiment during a frontal impact is determined by the Fig. 5 to Fig. 8. As described in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, when the front surface of the vehicle collides with an obstacle 46 (a barrier), the front end of the front side member 12 engages the obstacle and is bent and deformed (kinked). As a result of this bending deformation, the support member 32A supporting the suspension member 16 on the front side member 12 is pushed back. This lifts the front end of the suspension member 16 upward and tilts the rear end downward.
[0050] While the rear end of the suspension member 16 tilts, the opposite sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 are raised, as shown in Fig. 6, and the opposing sides 34A and the opposing sides 36A of the bottom-side extensions 36 become parallel to each other in a side view. The suspension element 16 is further pushed back while maintaining the parallel state, and the opposing sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 collide as shown in Fig. 7 shown with the opposite sides 36A of the bottom extensions 36.
[0051] At the time of this impact, the load large enough to cause the floor extensions 36 to penetrate the passenger compartment is transferred to the floor extensions 36, which have absorbed the impact of the component extensions 34. As described above, the floor extensions 36 are provided below the tunnel reinforcement 44, which is a reinforcement member. That is, the floor extensions 36 are encased in the tunnel reinforcement 44. Therefore, the load of the floor extensions 36 applied to the interior of the passenger compartment 22 is absorbed by the tunnel reinforcement 44, thereby preventing the floor extensions 36 from entering the passenger compartment 22.
[0052] As the frontal impact progresses, the opposite sides 34A of the component-side extensions 34 and the opposite sides 36A of the floor-side extensions 36, which are inclination surfaces, guide the suspension element 16 as shown in Fig. 8. This means that the component-side extensions 34 slide downward and rearward relative to the floor-side extensions 36, causing the suspension member 16 to be pushed downward and rearward. Accordingly, it becomes possible to prevent the suspension member 16 from entering the passenger compartment 22. <Weiterer Aspekt der vorliegenden Ausführungsform>
[0053] Although in Fig. 1 to Fig. 8 each of the component-side extensions 34, 34 and the base-side extensions 36, 36 is separate and independent, other forms may be adopted. As in Fig. For example, as shown in Figure 9, the component-side extension 34 (component-side extension element) and the bottom-side extension 36 (bottom-side extension element) may each be a single part.
[0054] The bottom extension 36 is provided at least on the lower surface of the lower partition plate 40B or the floor plate 38 so as to be located in front of the front surface 18A of the battery unit 18. The bottom extension 36 has two bottom projection portions 37, 37 arranged in the vehicle width direction with the high-voltage cable 30 therebetween and projecting downward. The structure of the opposite sides 36A of the bottom projection portions 37, 37 may be identical to that of the opposite sides 36A of the Fig. 4 shown bottom extensions 36, 36.
[0055] Furthermore, the component-side extension 34 is provided on the rear end edge 16C of the suspension element 16. The component-side extension 34 has two component-side protrusion portions 35, 35, which protrude upward at positions opposite to the two bottom-side protrusion portions 37, 37 in the vehicle longitudinal direction on the rear end edge 16C of the suspension element 16. The structure of the opposite sides 34A of the component-side protrusion portions 35, 35 can be identical to that of the opposite sides 34A of the Fig. 4 shown component-side extensions 34, 34.
[0056] The present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described above and includes all variations and changes that do not deviate from the technical scope and the gist of the present disclosure defined in the claims.
