Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a cable storage and dispensing device for storing and at least partially dispensing a charging cable for electric motor-driven vehicles, comprising a charging cable with a vehicle connection end, a conveying device, a storage device and a control device.
[0002] The use of electric vehicles, i.e., vehicles with an electric motor and a battery as energy storage, is increasing due to the need to reduce CO2 emissions. Consequently, the demand for efficient and user-friendly charging devices for charging the batteries installed in the vehicle is also growing. In addition to public charging devices, there is a growing need for such charging devices in private homes, as a charging process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours.
[0003] Cable storage and dispensing devices are used for the safe and space-saving storage of electrical charging cables, which establish an electrically conductive connection between the vehicle and the charging device. Charging cables are particularly useful for bridging large distances between the two electrical contact points. The charging cable can usually be manually removed from the cable storage and dispensing device in the length required for use and reinserted after use, for example, via a manually operated rotating rod connected to a cylindrical frame for storing the charging cable as a coil. Coiling charging cables on a coil prevents kinking and thus the risk of damage to the charging cable. However, depending on the length of the cable provided, increased resistance forces arise, which can require considerable effort if the cable is inserted completely manually. A further disadvantage of charging cable storage in a coil is the complex electrical connection between the charging cable and the charging device using a rotatably mounted connection arrangement. In addition, a cuboid-shaped installation space with an almost square cross-section is required to accommodate the coil. When used in confined spaces, such as garages with parked vehicles, the design of the installation space can be of enormous importance in order to ensure efficient use and storage. For example, DE 10 2019 112 112 A1 by the applicant discloses a charging cable storage system for a vehicle charging cable, which has at least two rotatably mounted first rollers and at least two rotatably mounted second rollers over which the charging cable is guided in the operating state.
[0004] DE 10 2019 104 110 A1 describes a charging station for electric vehicles with a housing and a control and storage device arranged therein, which is designed as a container with two openings for inserting and removing the charging cable. The charging cable lies randomly in the storage device. Motor-driven guide rollers are arranged at one opening, which have a cylindrical shape or a convex circumferential surface. The motor supports a user's pulling or pushing force for inserting and removing the charging cable from the charging station. A stop fixed to the charging cable ensures that part of the charging cable always remains in the storage device.
[0005] EP 2 690 735 A1 describes a cable storage device in a hybrid vehicle. The device has a cable receiving space with two openings for receiving the cable in a meandering manner. Outside the cable receiving space and in front of one of the openings, a conveyor in the form of two cylindrical rollers driven by an electric motor is provided. A plug arranged on the charging cable is stowed in a compartment for storage.
[0006] CN 107 265 202 A describes a cable storage device for an electric vehicle, wherein the cable storage device has a cable receiving space. A semicircular guide element with rollers is arranged in the cable receiving space and guides the charging cable. The charging cable is withdrawn from the cable storage device by pulling. The semicircular guide element is moved from an upper position to a lower position, in which it is spring-loaded. The tensile force of the springs automatically retracts the charging cable after use. When retracted, the charging cable essentially has an R-shape when viewed from the side.
[0007] DE 10 2010 040 787 A1 describes a cable storage and dispensing device in an electric vehicle, comprising a charging cable with a plug connection, a conveyor device formed by rollers, and a storage device. The device further comprises a control device, among other things, for controlling the drive of the rollers. The charging cable is inserted into the storage device without additional guidance and is arranged in a meandering pattern within the cable receiving space due to the geometry of the storage space.
[0008] DE 102 35 261 B3 describes a cable storage unit with a cable receiving space, in particular for fiber optic cables. The cable receiving space has two openings for passing through a fiber optic cable, wherein the fiber optic cable is arranged, in particular, in a circular or figure-eight twisted configuration within the cable receiving space, so that the resulting torsion on the cable is compensated when a portion of the cable is removed from the receiving space.
[0009] DE 10 2017 203 327 B4 describes a cable storage unit in an electric-powered vehicle, comprising a connector for a charging station, a conveyor device in the form of two motor-driven rollers, a control device, and a storage device. The storage device has two openings for guiding the charging cable, with the charging cable being stored in a meandering manner within the storage device.
[0010] DE 10 2017 112 038 A1 describes a building-mounted charging device for an electric vehicle, which includes a charging cable with a connector. The charging cable is housed within a pivoting arm, with spring elements guiding the charging cable back into the pivoting arm after it has been pulled out. The charging device also includes modules for lighting or Wi-Fi connection, among other things.
[0011] WO 2017 / 221 207 A1 describes a charging cable storage device for mounting on a ceiling, comprising a control system operable via a button or Bluetooth, a storage device for storing a charging cable with a vehicle connection end, and a conveyor device for conveying the charging cable into and out of the storage device. The conveyor device comprises, in particular, conveyor wheels and guide wheels, which are preloaded against each other and thus press a charging cable between them.
[0012] The invention therefore has the object of providing a simple cable storage and dispensing device with a design that can be selected as freely as possible.
[0013] This object is achieved by a cable storage and dispensing device for storing and at least partially dispensing a charging cable for electric-motor-driven vehicles, comprising a charging cable with a vehicle connection end, a conveyor device, a storage device, and a control device, wherein the storage device has a cable receiving space with two openings through which the charging cable can be guided, the conveyor device conveys the charging cable into and out of the cable receiving space such that the vehicle connection end of the charging cable is closer or further away from the cable storage and dispensing device, wherein at least 3% of the length of the charging cable and / or at least 0.5 m of the length of the charging cable is located in the cable receiving space at any time, wherein the charging cable is arranged in the storage device in a partially disordered manner and a section of the charging cable is fixed within the cable receiving space by means of holders, so that this portion of the cable length is arranged in an orderly manner in the storage device, wherein the disordered section of the charging cable arranged following the ordered section of the charging cable is arranged in a maximally fed state of the charging cable into the cable storage and dispensing device essentially as a freely formed figure eight of different shapes arranged one above the other in the storage device.
[0014] Advantageously, the conveying device is electrically driven and controllable via the control device, so that, on the one hand, no great effort is required from the user during feeding and discharging, and, on the other hand, the cable storage and dispensing device can be arranged anywhere, particularly within a garage, since it does not have to be accessible to the user. Rather, it is precisely according to the invention and advantageous to attach the cable storage and dispensing device to a ceiling above the vehicle, which also includes roofs of, for example, loading ramps and can easily be done at heights of 6 m or more. In this way, a user cannot injure themselves by becoming trapped on the device during feeding or discharging the charging cable. The device can also be arranged as centrally as possible above one or more vehicles, so that a user can always reach the vehicle connection point unhindered, regardless of the arrangement of the vehicle-specific vehicle connection point.
[0015] A particularly significant advantage is that the partially random arrangement of the charging cable within the storage device allows the installation space of the cable storage and dispensing device to be designed to be as flat as possible, making it ideally located on the ceiling, particularly in a garage or carport, and even taller vehicles can fit underneath. It can also be attached to a side wall; the flat design neither interferes with parking nor prevents people from passing by. Particularly advantageously, at least 3% and / or 0.5 m of the charging cable length is always located in the storage device. This prevents damage to the charging cable, particularly due to an insufficient bending radius and kinking during feeding or feeding out, and also facilitates the geometrically indeterminate, free feeding of the cable.
[0016] If a portion of the charging cable according to the invention is always arranged in the storage device, a certain directional specification of the curvature of the further introduced charging cable is provided. Particularly advantageously, the ordered portion of the charging cable in the storage device influences the arrangement of the further, disordered portion of the charging cable fed in such a way that the charging cable is deposited in the storage device in the form of overlapping figure eights. With such an arrangement, the installation space is used efficiently, and the charging cable can be reliably fed in and out without kinking or twisting.
[0017] According to the invention, the storage device is designed in such a way that it offers sufficient space for a random cable arrangement that resets itself with each feeding process. The inventive ratio between the width and length of the storage device is between 1:1.5 and 1:2.5, advantageously around 1:2. This ratio is decisive for the shape of the charging cable arrangement; the smaller the length compared to the width, the flatter the figure eight shape. Each charging cable has a specific minimum bending radius, compliance with which increases the service life of the charging cable. The charging cable is essentially arranged twisted with its minimum bending radius. In any case, the dimensions of the storage device must be selected such that the charging cable does not fall below its individual bending radius, above which damage could occur. The ratio according to the invention is particularly advantageous because, in this area, the radii formed by the arrangement correspond to the minimum bending radius of the charging cable, allowing the cable to be stored within the storage device without significant internal stress or deformation. The greater the length compared to the width, the more elongated the shape of the charging cable arrangement. The greater the height of the storage device, the more figure-eights can be arranged one above the other.
[0018] In a further development of the invention, the conveying device comprises at least one driven conveying means, in particular a conveying wheel, wherein the conveying device comprises at least one guide means, in particular at least two guide wheels, arranged along a circumference of the conveying means and radially spaced from its circumference. This advantageously enables the charging cable to be conveyed into and out of the storage device in an efficient manner. The conveying wheel is rotationally driven by an electric motor. The use of a conveyor belt, a conveyor screw, or several conveyor wheels as the conveying means is also in accordance with the invention. The conveying means conveys the charging cable evenly and without strong shear forces acting on the charging cable, thus reducing abrasion of an outer sheath of the charging cable.Likewise, the conveyor, together with the guide, conveys the charging cable in such a way that unwanted twisting of the charging cable or its jumping out of the conveyor wheel is prevented. The distance between the guide and the conveyor is selected such that the charging cable is positioned flush against both the guide and the conveyor, but not pressed against it.
[0019] In an embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the axes of the at least one conveyor wheel and the guide wheels are arranged parallel to one another and the at least one conveyor wheel and the guide wheels are designed to be vertically centered relative to one another, wherein the circumference of the at least one conveyor wheel and the guide wheels each has a substantially concave contour. In order to efficiently accommodate the charging cable with a substantially circular cross-section between the conveyor wheel and guide wheels, the latter have a concave circumferential contour such that the charging cable is embedded within this contour. The parallelism of the axes ensures reliable conveying and guidance of the charging cable without it becoming jammed and / or damaged between the means of the conveying device. The radius of the concave contour of the circumferences advantageously corresponds at least to the radius of the charging cable. The opposing arrangement of the concave peripheries of the conveyor wheel and guide wheel prevents the charging cable from protruding, even if the cable has a smaller radius than the concave contours. Furthermore, this arrangement creates play in the charging cable within the conveyor device, allowing the charging cable to twist within the guide device without damaging it.
[0020] A particularly advantageous development of the invention provides that the charging cable is arranged so as to be in continuous contact with at least 25% of the circumference of the conveyor wheel, with a guide wheel being arranged essentially at one end of the continuous contact between the conveyor wheel and the charging cable, the guide wheels being spring-loaded in a radial position to the conveyor wheel axis so that the charging cable is pressed against the circumference of the conveyor wheel at one position by a guide wheel. This creates a sufficiently large friction surface between the conveyor wheel and the charging cable so that slipping does not occur. The conveyor wheel transmits a shearing force to the charging cable and conveys it optimally, regardless of the output length of the charging cable and a corresponding weight force acting counter to the shearing force. The contact pressure of the guide wheels also creates frictional resistance between the charging cable and the conveyor wheel.
[0021] In an embodiment of the invention, the conveyor wheel has at least one, advantageously at least two, preferably four angularly equidistant rotation markers. The rotation markers of the conveyor wheel can be determined via a sensor connected to the control device. The sensor can be designed as an optical, inductive, or capacitive sensor, with the rotation markers advantageously being designed as permanent magnets. In this way, a conveying speed and thus an outgoing or incoming length of the charging cable can be determined. This occurs within the scope of sufficient accuracy of a whole, a half, or a quarter of the circumferential length of the conveyor wheel. This also prevents conveying beyond a predefined maximum outgoing / incoming length of the charging cable.
[0022] Advantageously, the charging cable's length can be selected by the user, especially controlled, and preferably also stored. Depending on the size of the vehicle, the arrangement of the cable storage and dispensing device relative to the vehicle, and the individual requirements of the user, different charging cable lengths—especially stored and easily accessible—are available.
[0023] In a further development of the invention, it is provided that it has a receiving device for the vehicle connection end, wherein the receiving device has a receiving sleeve and a receiving shaft for the vehicle connection end of the charging cable, wherein the receiving sleeve is made of an abrasion-resistant material, in particular of stainless steel and / or the receiving shaft is made of a plastic, in particular of a coated plastic. The vehicle connection end of the charging cable is thus completely received within the receiving device and thus protected. The receiving sleeve is made of an abrasion-resistant material in order to withstand the high frictional forces that occur due to the undefined routing of the charging cable on the receiving sleeve. The receiving shaft is advantageously coated or provided with a noise-reducing material so that the device operates quietly.
[0024] Finally, in one embodiment of the invention, it is further provided that it has an end position detection device, wherein the end position detection detects the maximum feeding of the charging cable into the cable storage and dispensing device, wherein the end position detection device is formed from at least one emitter and at least one receiver, wherein one of the emitter and receiver is arranged on the charging cable and the other on a housing of the cable storage and dispensing device. Preferably, the emitter is a permanent magnet and is arranged on the charging cable. The receiver is arranged on the housing and connected to the control device via active and data lines. If the emitter is detected via the receiver, the control device interrupts the feeding of the charging cable.
[0025] The housing, consisting of a frame made of preferably stainless steel and side panels made of aluminum, offers high stability and strength to absorb high tensile forces, such as those that can occur when the charging cable is pulled improperly. The removable, force-locking or positive connection between the frame and side panels facilitates maintenance work and access to the interior of the device.
[0026] In a further development of the invention, the cable storage and dispensing device can be controlled by remote control, in particular via radio, Bluetooth, WLAN, infrared, or by direct operation, in particular via switches connected to the cable storage and dispensing device by cables. The invention can thus be controlled via a smartphone, a tablet, or the vehicle itself, just as it can be controlled via a conventional remote control or via switches or touch panels mounted on a building wall.
[0027] Furthermore, an embodiment of the invention provides for at least one lighting device. If the cable storage and dispensing device is mounted on a ceiling, the room's lighting needs are advantageously met. The lighting device is particularly advantageously designed as LED strips arranged on the housing, in particular as LED strips that can be dimmed via the control device.
[0028] The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the figures of the drawing, in which identical components are provided with the same reference numerals. Fig. 1 a perspective view of the cable storage and dispensing device, Fig. 2 a section in a plan view of the cable storage and dispensing device with the charging cable in a first position, Fig. 3 a section in a plan view of the cable storage and dispensing device with the charging cable in a second position, Fig. 4 a detailed view of the conveyor device and Fig. 5 a second perspective view of the cable storage and dispensing device.
[0029] Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the cable storage and dispensing device 1, which has a housing 26 with a frame 28 and side parts 29 arranged thereon. The frame 28 is non-positively connected to the side parts 29 by screws 31. The receiving device 20 is arranged on a side wall 41 of the cable storage and dispensing device 1, with the receiving sleeve 21 protruding beyond the side wall 41. The receiving shaft 22 is arranged behind the receiving sleeve 21 and protruding into the interior of the cable storage and dispensing device 1. The receiving sleeve 21 and the receiving shaft 22 are arranged concentrically to one another.
[0030] Fig. Figure 2 shows a section in a top view of the cable storage and dispensing device 1 with the charging cable 2 in a first position, wherein the receiving device 20 is arranged at a distance from an outfeed side 32 of the conveying device 4, and the storage device 5 is arranged at a distance from an infeed side 33 of the conveying device 4, wherein the outfeed side 32 and infeed side 33 are arranged substantially orthogonally to one another. The charging cable 2 is guided through one of the two openings 8 of the storage device 5 in order to electrically connect its cable connection end 9 to the control device 6. A short section of the charging cable 2 is fixed within the cable receiving space 7 by holders 44, so that this portion of the cable length is arranged in an orderly manner in the storage device 5, substantially along a width side 45 and a length side 46 of the storage device 5.The holders 44 are advantageously designed as detachable cable clamps, which, on the one hand, prevent damage to the control device 6 due to improper pulling on the charging cable 2 and, on the other hand, secure the charging cable 2 in such a way that reliable feeding and discharging of the disordered portion of the charging cable 2 in freely forming figure eights of varying shapes is ensured. Following the ordered portion of the charging cable 2, the latter is arranged in a disordered manner in a plan view in the storage device 5, essentially in the shape of an eight. The first position shows an arrangement of the entire charging cable 2 within the cable storage and dispensing device 1. The charging cable 2 continues from the cable receiving space 7 via a storage device outlet 34, which is formed by a second opening 8, via the conveying device 4 and via the receiving device 20 with its vehicle connection end 3 into a handle 43.On a side of the discharge side 32 remote from the conveyor 10, an end position detection device 23 is arranged, said end position detection device comprising an emitter 24, which is arranged on the charging cable 2, and a receiver 25, which is arranged on the conveyor device housing 47.
[0031] Fig. 3 shows a section in a plan view of the cable storage and dispensing device 1 with the charging cable 2 in a second position, wherein the charging cable 2 is maximally conveyed out of the cable storage and dispensing device in a second position. The length of the charging cable 2 is particularly advantageously between 10 and 15 m, although other lengths of the charging cable 2 are also according to the invention. By defining the ordered portion of the charging cable 2 by the holders 44, the disordered portion of the charging cable 2 located in the cable receiving space 7 essentially forms an S-shape. This shape prefers a certain spreading and thus storage direction of the charging cable 2 during conveyance, such that, as in Fig. 2, essentially in an 8-shape. Furthermore, the conveyor device 4 comprises conveyor means 10 (not visible here) which are driven by an electric motor 36. The electric motor 36 is arranged on a conveyor device housing 47, on which a sensor 48 is also arranged for detecting the angular frequency of the conveyor means 10. Guide means 13 (not visible here) are arranged at a distance of one quarter of the circumference of the conveyor means 10. The guide means 13 are spring-loaded, the spring preload being directed centrally onto an axis of the conveyor means 10 and formed by tension bearings 49.
[0032] Fig. 4 shows a detailed view of parts of the conveyor device 4, wherein said device comprises conveying means 10 in the form of a conveyor wheel 11. Rotation markers 18 are arranged on an end face 19 of the conveyor wheel 11, wherein the rotation markers are arranged on a circular path 37 having a smaller radius than the conveyor wheel 11. A guide means 13 in the form of two guide wheels 14 is arranged at a distance of one quarter of the circumference 12 of the conveyor wheel 11. Axles 15 of the wheels 11, 14, which are perpendicular to the plane of the drawing, are arranged parallel to one another. The charging cable 2 is arranged between the conveyor wheel 11 and the guide wheels 14, wherein it rests continuously against the conveyor wheel 11 from one end 16, which is defined by one guide wheel 14, to a second end 16, which is defined by the other guide wheel 14.The spring-loaded bearing of the guide wheels 14 towards the conveyor wheel axis 17 presses the charging cable 2 via the guide wheels 14 onto the circumference 12 of the conveyor wheel 11. The circumference 12 and the circumference of both guide wheels 14 are convex.
[0033] Fig. Figure 5 shows a second perspective view of the cable storage and dispensing device 1, wherein a top side 42 of the housing 26 has spacers 38 and holes 39 for attaching the cable storage and dispensing device 1 to a wall. The spacers 38 are arranged within an edge region 40 of the top side 42 and have a substantially partially spherical shape. The plurality of holes 39 enables the cable storage and dispensing device 1 to be individually attached to a wall.
