Abstract
Description
The subject matter of the invention is a device for feeding and positioning inserts into an injection molding tool according to the preamble of claim 1.In general, a feed unit is used to feed an insert part, which can be designed, for example, as a threaded bushing or as a threaded insert, to an injection molding machine. In the injection molding machine, the insert is then surrounded by, laminated behind or injection molded from a material, generally a thermo- or thermosetting plastic, in order to create a multi-component component. The insert parts which are injection-molded are frequently made of metallic materials, it also being possible to use ceramic materials.Conventional feed units insert the insert part via a robot or a portal gripper into the opened mold halves of an injection mold, wherein the mold halves are closed via a closing unit in a next step and the insert part is subsequently injection molded with the liquefied material under pressure. The closing unit serves to close, hold and re-open the forming tool. The closing unit consists of the mold itself, which is separable into at least two halves (mold parting plane). The halves are mounted on two mounting plates, of which the nozzle-side is rigid and faces the nozzle of the injection unit, and the ejector-side, which is movable. It can be moved hydraulically or electromechanically away from the nozzle side or pressed with force onto it.In the tool, the injected material changes back into the solid state by cooling or by a cross-linking reaction and is removed together with the insert as a finished part after the opening of the tool.In this process, different materials are processed to a single part in order to achieve a hard-soft connection, for example. Examples are closure caps with injection-molded soft seals or keyboards, in which the pressure point is achieved with an injection-molded silicone seal. With this method, directly usable molded parts can be produced cost-effectively in large numbers. However, the cost of the tool is a great part of the investment necessary. As a result, even with simple tools, the threshold of economy is only reached at several thousand parts. It is precisely the feed unit that causes a large part of the costs, since the feed unit must engage with the opened mold halves in order to feed the insert part. This engagement increases the mold opening time since the injection molding machine must wait until the feed unit is removed from the opened mold halves. The patent specification EP 0 823 299 B1 shows an alternative embodiment of a feed unit for the continuous feed and positioning of insert parts into a mold space of an injection molding machine, wherein a feed channel is provided which leads into the region of the mold and serves for receiving and feeding insert parts. The insert parts are separated by a rotary disk which, for receiving an individual part, has a continuous bore which, after a 90° rotation, is aligned with the feed channel, in order to thus enable the shaped pin which is movable in the feed channel to engage on the insert part. The mold pin thus allows the insert to be positioned correctly in the mold. However, the rotary disk can cause jamming between the forming pin and the bore in the event of a premature rotation of the rotary disk. Also, the synchronization of the movable feeding parts with each other is difficult to achieve.EP 2 599 607 B1 discloses a device for the continuous feeding and positioning of insert parts into a mold space of an injection molding tool, wherein at least one channel is provided which leads into the region of the mold tool and serves for receiving and feeding the insert parts, and wherein a linearly displaceable element pushes the insert part introduced in the channel into the mold space of the mold tool. However, the mechanical actuation of this element can result in a tilting of the insert part, as a result of which the insert part can tilt within the guide. The object of the present invention is to develop a feed unit for an injection molding tool so further that a faster and reliable feed is possible and thus shorter machine cycle times, fast production cycles and a greater ejection of molded parts are given. The objects underlying the invention are achieved by the features of the independent patent claim, while advantageous embodiments and developments of the invention can be gathered from the dependent claims. An essential feature is that an upper channel is connected in an air-tight manner via a bending channel to the lower channel arranged parallel thereto in order to convey the insert part, which is acted upon by a compressed air pulse, through the upper channel in front of the mold pin movably mounted in the lower channel. In the following, the terms compressed air pulse and air pulse are used interchangeably. Thus, even with a small channel cross section, tilting of the insert part and thus tilting can be prevented. Even if the insert part has an outer profile, such as a hexagonal shape, for example, the distance between the inner wall and the corners of the hexagon can be kept small. This also has an advantage in the case of possible soiling, for example by chips which can be blown out of the channel or channels by the compressed air pulse. For continuous feeding and positioning of the insert parts into a mold space of an injection molding machine, the feed channel leading into the region of the mold is provided, which serves for receiving and feeding the insert parts, as well as a mold pin arranged in the feed channel, which conveys the insert part arranged in the feed channel into the mold space of the mold. The insert is conveyed by the compressed air pulse from a separating device into the feed channel, where the mold pin then pushes the insert in the direction of the mold. Thus, a particularly efficient continuous feeding and positioning of insert parts into a mold space of an injection molding tool can be realized.Preferably, a stop is found at the end of the channel, which stops the air-induced movement of the insert part in front of the mold space.Preferably, the stop is formed by two retaining clips which can be pivoted apart from one another in the opposite direction and which open briefly to receive the insert part acted upon by the compressed air pulse, in order to receive and fix the insert part at least partially between them. The retaining clamps pivot apart briefly by the compressive force of the end face of the insert part onto the circumferential region of an opening present between the retaining clamps and then at least partially lie around a depression in the central region of the insert part. Thus, after a first collar of the insert has passed through, the retaining clamps snap towards each other and, for example, abut a cylindrical surface of reduced diameter compared to this collar. In order to support the insertion into the already present opening, the insert part has a chamfer on its front side. The opening is preferably formed by two semicircular and opposite recesses of the retaining clips, each of which has an inner profile edge on its inner wall, which corresponds to the depression of the insert partThe two holding clamps are connected to one another via a screw forming a rotational axis and are counter-pivotably pivotable against the pressure force of a spring.Depending on the method step, the retaining clips have different positions:During the injection process, the clamps are opened. The mold pin then retracts and the clamps close. The air pulse starts. The air impulse blows the insert in the direction of the closed clamps. This allows the insert to enter the opening between the clamps, but is prevented from moving further because it is held between the clamps. Thus, no slipping of the insert part is possible, the clamps are in the clamping position. The mold pin then moves in the direction of the injection position, wherein the insert is received and rests firmly on the contour of the pin, the clamps open. The mold pin then presses on the rear side against the insert part fixed between the retaining clips in order to release the insert part for feeding into the mold space. The shaped pin has a receiving bolt on the end face, which is adapted to the inner contour of the hollow cylindrical insert part. The insert part can also be conveyed by a compressed air pulse from a singulating device into the feed duct. In this case, the feed channel is fed by the singulating device, which feeds the insert parts individually from a collecting container connected via a feed tube. The external feed tube merges via a bend into a horizontal elongate chamber of a singulating device. The chamber ends in a receptacle of a drum body rotatable about an axis of rotation, wherein the insert part comes to rest against a stop during the introduction into the receptacle. The drum body has a plurality of radially arranged receptacles which receive the insert part and transport it to a transfer point during a rotational movement about the axis of rotation. The singulating device thus enables the inserts to be fed individually to the feed channel adjoining the singulating device. In a preferred embodiment, the singulating device rotates 180° and the insert is located at the transfer point after the rotation and is acted upon here by a compressed air pulse which conveys the insert through the feed duct into the feed unit. After a rotation of a drum body of the separating device, the inserts supplied from the feed tube are discharged to an upper channel, from where they are conveyed in the direction of the feed channel under the influence of the compressed air pulse. The separating device consists of a drum body rotatable about an axis of rotation, with radially arranged receptacles for the transport of the individual insert parts. In the device according to the invention, there is thus the advantage that it can be attached to the tool halves, so that the opening path of the individual tools or mold halves is shorter, since according to the invention the insert can be introduced from behind and thus an engagement between the mold halves is dispensed with. This results in a reduction of the cycle time in conjunction with a space-saving design. From a collecting container, inserts are supplied to the supply unit via an external supply tube. The collecting container can be designed, for example, as a vibrating container. The injection molding tool can have further feed units which serve to enable further insert parts to be fed in a parallel method step. This further unit has its own feed pipe which is likewise fed from the collecting container. Alternatively, a plurality of feed pipes can also be used. The supply duct located in the interior of the supply unit is, for example, tubular and can be designed as a separate insert depending on the desired throughput size of the insert. In the interior of the feed channel, the insert is thus moved, caused by the compressed air pulse, until the positioning unit is reached. The positioning unit consists of the upper channel and the lower channel, wherein the two channels are connected to one another in an air-tight manner via the bending channel. Due to this curved channel, an insert arriving from the feed channel in the upper channel is conveyed into the lower channel. In the lower channel, the mold pin is in the waiting position, which is moved in a next step and thus comes into contact with the insert part. For this purpose, in a preferred embodiment, the shaped pin has a receiving bolt on the end face, which is adapted to the inner contour of the insert part. As a result, the mold pin can securely receive the insert part and transport it in the direction of the mold.In a further embodiment, at least the end face of the mold pin is designed magnetically in order to thus enter into a brief connection with the insert part.Such a mold pin can be operated, for example, via a hydraulic unit.In a further embodiment, the horizontally movable forming pin is designed as a toothed rack, wherein a stationary gear wheel engages in the teeth of the toothed rack in order to move the forming pin along the feed channel. With this rack-gear combination, rotational movements of the gear can be converted into linear movements of the rack. This gear wheel is driven by a further toothed rack, which is preferably movable in the vertical direction. A space-saving design is thus possible.Depending on how strong the air impulse acting on the insert is, the insert is stopped by the stop or remains in the supply channel. If the insert is now moved by the mold pin, the stop opens and thus enables the insert to be introduced and positioned in the mold space. In a further embodiment, the stop is present directly in the mold space in the cavity and is removed shortly before the injection of the plastic. Alternatively, the stop can also be removed only after the injection process. In a further embodiment, the insert previously introduced forms with its rear end face a stop for the following insert. Once the first insert part has been fully injection-molded, the multicomponent part formed in this way is removed and the second insert part is positioned in the mold half via the mold pin.In a further embodiment, in the case of a multicomponent part, the previously injected molded part can also form a receptacle for the subsequently introduced insert part, wherein in a next method step the two parts are molded on or injection molded. The subject matter of the present invention results not only from the subject matter of the individual patent claims, but also from the combination of the individual patent claims with one another. All the details and features disclosed in the documents, including the summary, in particular the spatial configuration illustrated in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention, provided they are novel, individually or in combination, compared with the prior art.The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings which represent a plurality of exemplary embodiments. The collecting container 2 can be designed, for example, as a vibrating container. The feed unit according to FIG. 1 has a further unit 22, which serves to allow a further insert part 13 to be fed in a parallel method step. This further unit 22 has its own feed pipe which is likewise fed from the collecting container 2.On the front end face of the feed unit 1 there are centering columns 23 to which the tool is connected. The external feed tube 3 merges via a bend 5 into a horizontal elongate chamber 9 of a separating device 6.The chamber 9 ends in a receptacle 31 of a drum body 32 rotatable about the axis of rotation 7, wherein the insert part 13 comes to rest against a stop during the introduction into the receptacle 31. The drum body 32, which is shown for example in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, has a plurality of radially arranged receptacles 31, which receive the insert parts 13 and convey them to a transfer point 10 during a rotational movement about the axis of rotation 7.The singulating device 6 thus enables the inserts 13 to be fed individually to a feed duct 12 adjoining the device 6.In a preferred embodiment, the singulating device 6 rotates by 180° and the insert part 13 is located at the transfer point 10 after the rotation and is acted upon here by an air pulse 11 which conveys the insert part 13 in the arrow direction 21 through the feed duct 12 into the feed unit 1.The feed channel 12 located in the interior of the feed unit 1 is, for example, tubular and can be formed as a separate component depending on the desired passage size of the insert part. In the interior of the feed channel 12, the insert part 13, caused by the air pulse 11, is thus conveyed in the direction of the arrow 21 until the positioning unit 14 is reached. The positioning unit 14 has a venting groove 30, through which excess air can escape so that the insert part is not stopped by a compressed air cushion. The positioning unit 14, which is illustrated in detail in FIG. 4, consists of an upper channel 15 and a lower channel 16, wherein the two channels 15, 16 are continuously connected to one another via a curved channel, in the following bending channel 17.Due to this bending channel 17, an insert 13 arriving from the supply channel 12 in the upper channel 17 is conveyed in the direction of the arrow 20 into the lower channel 16.In the lower channel 16 there is a mold pin 19 in the waiting position, which is moved in the arrow direction 21 in a next step and thus comes into contact with the insert part 13.For this purpose, in a preferred embodiment, the shaped pin 19 has a receiving bolt 29 on the end face, which is adapted to the inner contour of the insert part. As a result, the mold pin 19 can securely receive the insert and carry it along in the direction of the arrow 21.In a further embodiment, at least the end face of the mold pin is designed magnetically in order to establish a short-term connection with the insert part.Such a mold pin can be operated, for example, via a hydraulic unit.FIG. 2 shows the insert 13 which is received by the mold pin 19 and has been transported to the end of the channel 16 facing the injection molding machine. At the end of the channel 16 there is a stop 18 which prevents an undesired escape of the movable insert part 13.Depending on the intensity of the air pulse 11 acting on the insert, the insert 13 is stopped by the stop 18 or remains in the channel 16.If the insert 13 is now moved in the direction of the arrow 21 by the mold pin 19, the stop 18 opens and thus enables the insert to be introduced into the mold space 26.By means of the mold pin 19, the insert 13 is supplied precisely in position into the predetermined end position in the mold.FIG. 4 shows the inserts 13 introduced into the feed channel 12 at the transfer point 10, wherein the feed channel merges in the region of the positioning unit 14 into the concentric channel 15, which in turn merges into the bending channel 17 which opens into the lower channel 16. The movement of the insert part 13 is decelerated by the stop 18. Excess air of the air introduced into the channels 12, 15, 17 and 16 by the air pulse 11 can escape through the venting groove 30 in the exemplary embodiment shown here. In the lower channel 16, the forming pin 19 with the receiving bolt 29 is in the waiting position.FIG. 5 shows the insert 13 inserted into the mold space 26 via the mold pin 19, and the mold space is formed between the left mold half 27 and the right mold half 28.FIG. 6 shows further exemplary embodiments of such a stop, wherein such a stop is also present, for example, directly in the mold space in the cavity and is removed shortly before the injection of the plastic.Alternatively, the stop can also be removed only after the injection process. In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the previously inserted insert 13 aconstitutes a rear-side stop 18 afor the following insert 13 b. Once the first insert 13 ais fully injection-molded, the multicomponent part is removed and the second insert 13 bis positioned via the mold pin in the mold half.In a further embodiment, in the case of a multicomponent part, the previously injected molded part can also form a receptacle for the subsequently introduced insert part, wherein in a next method step the two parts are molded on or injection molded. In a further embodiment, an insert already located in the mold space can also form with its rear end face the stop for a trailing insert.FIGS. 7 and 8 show an alternative drive form of the forming pin 19, wherein the forming pin 19 that is horizontally movable in the feed channel 12 is designed as a toothed rack, wherein a stationary gear 34 engages into the teeth of the toothed rack and moves the forming pin along the feed channel. This gear 34 is driven by a further toothed rack 35, which is preferably movable in the vertical direction in the direction of arrow 36 and is driven, for example, by a hydraulic cylinder unit. A space-saving design is thus possible. The feed channel 12 is fed by a vertical downpipe 37, which discharges an insert part 13 separated by the separating device 6.The vertical toothed rack 35 can be in contact simultaneously with a further toothed wheel 34 aand drive a further shaped pin 19 avia said further toothed wheel. The mold pin 19 acan also feed an insert part 13 to the mold space 26 simultaneously or offset in time.FIGS. 9-14 show a further embodiment of the feed unit 1 with a preferred stop 18.FIG. 9 shows the shaped pin 19 of the feed unit 1 protruding from the channel, with an insert part 13 in plan view. In addition, the sectional guide X-X can be seen from the views described in the following FIGS. 10 a- f.The feed unit 1 serves for the continuous feed and positioning of insert parts 13 into a mold space 26 of an injection mold, wherein a channel 12, 15, 16, 17 leading into the region of a mold of the injection mold is provided, which channel serves for receiving and feeding insert parts 13, and wherein a mold pin 19 movable in the feed channel 16 conveys the insert part 9 introduced in the feed channel 15, 16, 17 into the mold space 26 of the mold. The insert 13 is conveyed by a compressed air pulse 11 from a singulating device, not shown, into an upper feed channel 12, the upper channel 15 and via the bending channel 17 adjoining it in an air-tight manner into the channel 16 located beneath it in front of the forming pin 19 which is movably mounted there and then displaces the insert 13 in the direction of the forming space 26.Initially, however, the insert 13 moved by the compressed air pulse 11 is stopped in front of the mold space 26 by means of a stop 18 at the end of the lower channel 16, wherein the stop 18 is formed by two retaining clips 40 a, bwhich can be pivoted apart from one another in the opposite direction and which open briefly to receive the insert 13 acted upon by the compressed air pulse, in order to receive and fix the insert 13 at least partially between them.Due to the compressive force of the end face 39 of the insert 13 on the circumferential region of an opening 46 formed by the retaining clips 40 a, b, these are pivoted apart briefly and then rest around a depression 33 in the central region of the insert.Subsequently, the mold pin 19 presses on the rear side against the insert 13 fixed between the retaining clips 40 a, bto release the insert for feeding into the mold space 26.FIG. 10 a shows, first of all, the injection position in which the retaining clamps 40 a, billustrated in FIG. 11 are open. The feed channel 12 located in the interior of the feed unit 1 is, for example, tubular and can be formed depending on the desired passage size of the insert part 13. In the interior of the feed channel 12, the insert part 13, caused by the air pulse 11, is thus conveyed in the direction of the arrow 21 until the positioning unit 14 is reached. The positioning unit 14 consists of the upper channel 15 and the lower channel 16, wherein the two channels 15, 16 are connected to one another continuously and in an air-tight manner via the bending channel 17.Due to this curved channel 17, an insert 13 arriving from the supply channel 12 in the upper channel 15 is conveyed in the direction of the arrow 20 into the lower channel 16.FIG. 10 ashows how the mold pin 19 is extended at most in the direction of the arrow 21 in order to introduce the insert part 13 into the mold space 26. At the end of the channel 16 there is the stop 18, which prevents an undesired escape of the movable insert part 13. In FIG. 10 a, this stop formed by the retaining clips 40 a, bis open and allows the shaped pin 19 to pass through and allows the insert part 13 previously held by the retaining clips 40 a, bto be carried along. In the next step according to FIG. 10 b, the mold pin 19 is retracted counter to the arrow direction 21 into a waiting position and a new insert is conveyed from the upper channel 15 through the bending channel 17 into the lower channel 16. This is done by applying the air impulse 11 to the insert part 13.According to FIG. 10 c, the accelerated insert part 13 abuts with its end face 39 against the rear sides of the retaining clips 40 a, bin the region of the circumferential surfaces of the semicircular recesses 43 a, bwhich form a circular opening in the closed position of the retaining clips. Since the end face 39 of the insert 13 has a chamfer, the retaining clips 40 a, bare pressed apart against a spring force by the compressive load of the end face 39 on the circumferential surface of the recesses 43 a, b, as is shown in FIGS. 10 aand 12.In this case, the opening 46 formed by the semicircular recesses 43 a, bopens only until the first collar 38 of the insert part 13 passes through the opening 46 and the retaining clips 40 a, bshortly close thereon again, as is shown in FIGS. 10 eand 13. In this case, the semicircular recesses 43 a, bof the retaining clamps 40 a, bposit behind the first collar 38 on the diametrically reduced and circular depression 33.Since, following this depression 33, there is a second collar 48, which is enlarged in diameter compared to the depression, as seen in the longitudinal direction of the insert, the movement of the insert in the arrow direction 21 is abruptly decelerated and the insert is held between the two holding clips 40 a, b, i.e. between the recesses 43 a, b.The mold pin 19 is in the waiting position in the lower channel 16, which is moved in the direction of the arrow 21 in a next step and thus comes into contact with the insert part 13.For this purpose, in a preferred embodiment, the shaped pin 19 has a receiving bolt 29 on the end face, which is adapted to the inner contour of the insert part. As a result, the mold pin 19 can securely receive the insert 13 and carry it along in the direction of the arrow 21.If the insert part 13 according to FIG. 10 fis now moved in the direction of the arrow 21 by the forming pin 19, the stop 18 opens in which the retaining clips 40 a, bvoking in the opposite direction. In this case, the end face 39 of the collar 48 of the insert 13 presses on the circumferential region of the opening 46 and the retaining clamps pivot against a spring force. Thus, the mold pin can introduce the insert part into the mold space 26 and feed it precisely in position into the predetermined end position in the mold. After the forming pin 19 is returned again counter to the arrow direction 21, the retaining clips 40 a, bshort again, as is illustrated in FIG. 10 b.FIG. 14 shows the stop 18 formed by the diametrically opposed retaining clips 40 a, bwhich are rotatably mounted by means of a screw 41. The screw, which is a shoulder-fitting screw, for example, passes through a circular passage 42 aof the left retaining clip 40 aand a circular passage 42 bof the right retaining clip 40 blocated underneath it. The screw thus forms the pivot bearing for both retaining clips in order to pivot them along the respective arrow direction 45 a, 45 b.The regions of the retaining clamps 40 a, bwhich have the respective passage 42 a, 42 bhave each the shape of a circular arc 24 a, b. In this case, the one curved circular arc 24 a, bengages in a corresponding cutout 25 a, bin the opposite retaining clamp. These recesses have the same shape as the circular arcs 24 a, b, so that the components can engage and roll in one another.Behind the screw 41, according to FIGS. 15 and 16, a spring 49 is provided, which engages in a correspondingly corresponding recess in the respective retaining clip 40 a, band thus exerts a pressure between the two retaining clips in the closed state. As a result of this spring force, the two retaining clamps 40 a, bare closed in the unloaded state and the opening 46 formed between the recesses 43 a, bhas its smallest diameter, which is smaller than the diameter of a collar 38, 48.If an insert is clamped between the two retaining clips 40 a, b, the spring 49 is compressed and only after removal of the insert 13 relaxes the spring again and ensures that the retaining clips close and thus a stop 18 for the following inserts is formed again. The opening 46 is formed by two semicircular and opposite recesses 43 a, 43 bof the retaining clips 40 a, 40 b, each of which has on its inner wall an inner profiled edge 44 a, 44 bwhich corresponds to the depression 33 of the insert part 13.Drawing Legend1 Feed unit 2 Collecting container 3 Feed tube 4 Arrow direction 5 Bend 6 Separating device 7 Axis of rotation 8 9 Chamber 10 Transfer point 11 Air pulse 12 Feed channel (in 1) 13, 13 a, 13 b Einlegeteil part 14 Positioning unit 15 Upper channel 16 Lower channel 17 Bending channel 18, 18 aStop 19, 19 a Form pin 20 Arrow direction 21 Arrow direction 22 Further unit 23 Centering column 24 a, b Circular arc 25 a, b Cutout 26 Molding space 27 Half half 28 Half 29 Receiving bolt 30 Venting groove 31 Receiver 32 Drum body 33 Depression 34, 34 a Zahnrad 35 Vertical rack 36 Arrow direction 37 Drop tube 38 Collar 39 End face 40, 40 a, 40 b Clip 41 Screw 42 a, 42 b Durchgang 43 a, 43 b 44 a, 44 b Profil edge 45 a, 45b Arrow direction 46 Opening 47 48 Collar 49 SpringReferences included in the specificationThis list of documents cited by the applicant has been produced in an automated manner and is only included for the better information of the reader.
