Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a hinge for furniture with a side part that can be fixed to a furniture body and a hinge part that is pivotally held on the side part via a joint mechanism, which hinge part comprises a mounting plate that can be fixed to a door and a fastening part that is releasably fixed to the mounting plate and that are held together by a locking mechanism, wherein the locking mechanism has a rotatable pawl that is preloaded by a spring and can be brought into engagement with a contact surface on a bolt, and a method for mounting a hinge part.
[0002] EP 0 763 642 A1 discloses a hinge for glass doors, in which an anchoring device of a hinge comprises a retaining plate that can be attached to a glass door and hooked onto a coupling part. A spring-loaded rocker arm is mounted on the coupling part, which can engage behind a hook-like projection of the retaining plate. While such an anchoring ensures secure fixation of the glass door, manufacturing tolerances can lead to movement between the coupling part and the retaining plate, which can cause noise.
[0003] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a hinge for furniture and a method for assembling a hinge part which ensure a play-free connection between a mounting plate and a fastening part.
[0004] This object is achieved with a hinge having the features of claim 1 and a method for assembling a hinge part having the features of claim 15.
[0005] A hinge according to the invention comprises a side part that can be fixed to a furniture body and a hinge part that is pivotally held on the side part via a joint mechanism. The hinge part comprises a mounting plate that can be secured to a door and a fastening part that is releasably fixed to the mounting plate and that are held together by a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a rotatable pawl that is preloaded by a spring and can be brought into engagement with a contact surface on a bolt. The pawl has an eccentric clamping curve that clamps against the contact surface of the bolt due to the force of the spring. As a result, the eccentric clamping curve can prevent play between the mounting plate and the fastening part by rotating the pawl, since the clamping curve clamps the pawl relative to the contact surface of the bolt, regardless of the manufacturing tolerances.Due to the eccentric design, turning the latch, the force of the spring can shift the hinge part relative to the mounting plate until there is no more play. The eccentric clamping curve can, for example, extend over an angular range between 10° and 160°, in particular 20° and 100°.
[0006] Preferably, the fastening part is rotatable about an axis relative to the mounting plate for assembly or disassembly, and the latch preloads the axis into a bearing receptacle in the assembled position. This ensures not only a positive but also a force-locking fixation of the hinge part to the mounting plate.
[0007] A guide cam is preferably formed on the latch, which, when the fastening part is pivoted about an axis relative to the mounting plate, rotates the latch against the force of the spring until shortly before the locked position. Tensioning of the latch against the force of the spring can thus occur automatically when the fastening part is pivoted relative to the mounting plate, since the guide cam rotates the latch until shortly before the locked position. Only shortly before reaching the mounting position, for example, within a pivoting range of less than 5° before the mounting position, is the latch released from the guide cam and can rotate under the force of the spring to clamp the hinge part to the mounting plate. This release and rotation of the latch can be perceived both haptically and acoustically, so that when the fastening part is mounted on the mounting plate, the user hears an acoustic sound that confirms correct installation.
[0008] For secure locking of the latch, the contact surface can be flat and is preferably part of a V-shaped receptacle into which the eccentric clamping cam is inserted in the mounted position. The contact surface and a surface on the mounting plate are preferably arranged at an angle between 40° and 90°, preferably 50° and 80°, and the clamping cam is arranged between the contact surface and the surface.
[0009] The latch preferably includes a projection or a tool holder so that the projection or tool holder can be rotated against the force of the spring using a tool to release the latch from the mounting plate by rotation, allowing the fastening part to be pivoted again relative to the mounting plate. This allows for easy disassembly.
[0010] Preferably, at least one latch is rotatably mounted on the mounting plate, and the latch is rotatably mounted on the fastening part. The locking mechanism can also be configured in reverse, so that the latch is rotatably mounted on the mounting plate and the latch is mounted on the fastening part. The arrangement of the latch on the mounting plate has the advantage that it can be formed in one piece, with the mounting plate being glued to a door, for example, if the door is a glass door or made of another material that is difficult to machine. Fastening the mounting plate using other or additional fastening means, such as screws, is also possible in a modified embodiment of the mounting plate.
[0011] For stable fixation of the fastening part to the mounting plate, two latches, each with a contact surface, are preferably provided on the mounting plate. An eccentric clamping curve of the latch engages each latch. This allows the eccentric clamping curve to exert tension at at least two positions along the axial length of the latch. A projection on the latch can be formed between the two latches on the mounting plate, by means of which the latch can be rotated using a tool. For this purpose, a receptacle or recess can be provided on the fastening part to rotate the projection, enabling a compact design.
[0012] The hinge is preferably designed as a seven-joint hinge and comprises a joint mechanism with seven joint axes and four levers, each of which is connected relative to one another via one or more axes. Alternatively, the hinge can also be designed as a four-joint mechanism or with another joint mechanism.
[0013] Preferably, the contact between the eccentric clamping cam and the contact surface creates tolerance compensation in the x-direction, so that the axle is held in the bearing mount without play. The x-direction is arranged parallel to a plane of the mounting plate that extends perpendicular to a rotational axis of the latch. A y-direction extends perpendicular to the plane of the mounting plate. The latch can be held in the locked position in a self-locking manner by frictional contact between the eccentric clamping cam and the contact surface.
[0014] In the method according to the invention for assembling a hinge part with a mounting plate that can be secured to a door and a fastening part, the fastening part is arranged on a bearing receptacle for an axis or an axis on the mounting plate in order to then rotate the fastening part about the axis relative to the mounting plate. A pawl of a locking mechanism for fixing the fastening part to the mounting plate is moved as far as a guide cam of a latch in order to then simultaneously rotate the pawl against the force of a spring by means of the guide cam by further rotating the fastening part relative to the mounting plate about the axis. Upon further rotating the fastening part relative to the mounting plate, the pawl is then released from the guide cam in order to then rotate the pawl under the force of the spring, with an eccentric tensioning cam on the pawl being clamped to a contact surface of the latch. This allows the latch to be automatically fixed and tightened to the bolt.
[0015] The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of a hinge according to the invention with a tool; Fig. 2A to 2C several views of the hinge of the Fig. 1 when mounting a hinge part to a mounting plate; Fig. 3A to 3E show several detailed views of the locking mechanism for fixing the hinge part to the mounting plate during assembly; Fig. 4 an exploded view of the hinge part of the hinge and the mounting plate of the Fig. 1; Fig. 5A and Fig. 5B two views of the mounting plate; Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B two views of the fastening part; Fig. 7A and Fig. 7B two views of the bolt, and Fig. 8A to 8C show several views of the hinge part being removed from the mounting plate.
[0016] A hinge 1 comprises a side part 2 that can be fixed to a furniture body and a hinge part 4 that is connected to the side part 2 via a joint mechanism 3. The hinge part 4 comprises a mounting plate 5 that can be attached to a door and a fastening part 6 that is releasably fixed to the mounting plate 5. The fastening part 6 is held to the mounting plate 5 via a locking mechanism. The mounting plate 5 can be fixed to the door, for example, by gluing or other fastening means. The fastening part 6 can be detached from the mounting plate 5 using a tool 30.
[0017] In Fig. Figure 2A shows the hinge 1 before the fastening part 6 is mounted on the mounting plate 5. The fastening part 6 forms a unit with the side part 2 via the joint mechanism 3. The joint mechanism 3 here comprises four levers 31, 32, 33, and 34, which are connected to each other via seven joint axes. The hinge 1 is thus designed as a seven-joint hinge.
[0018] An axle 11 is provided on the fastening part 6, by means of which the lever 32 is also rotatably mounted. The axle 11 is used to fix the fastening part 6 to the mounting plate 5. For this purpose, a bearing receptacle 10 is formed on the mounting plate 5, which essentially surrounds the axle 11 in a semicircular manner. After inserting the axle 11 into the bearing receptacle 10, the fastening part 6 can be pivoted about the axle 11 relative to the mounting plate 5.
[0019] In Fig. Figure 2B shows the position when a latch 7 on the fastening part 6 contacts a guide cam 21 on a latch 9 of the mounting plate 5. The latch 7 is supported by the guide cam 21, and the latch 7 is mounted for rotation about an axis 13. By pivoting the fastening part 6 about the axis 11, the latch 7 is pivoted about the axis 13 as long as the latch 7 is supported on the guide cam 21 of the latch 9.
[0020] In Fig. Figure 2C shows the assembled position in which the fastening part 6 is fixed to the mounting plate 5. The latch 7 is fixed to the bolt 9, with an eccentric clamping cam 14 on the latch 7 resting against the contact surface 15 of the bolt 9.
[0021] A projection 18 is optionally provided on the mounting plate 5. During the assembly process, a central axle 12 can be arranged adjacent to this projection 18 on the fastening part 6 to prevent movement of the axle 11 from the bearing receptacle 10. The axle 12 creates a rotatable mounting of the lever 31. Thus, in the optional embodiment, the projection 18 serves as an insertion aid for the fastening part 6 relative to the mounting plate 5. Furthermore, the projection 18 can transfer a vertical load in the event of a high vertical load on the door.
[0022] The function of the locking mechanism when mounting the fastening part 6 on the mounting plate 5 is described in the Fig. 3A to 3E shown in detail.
[0023] In Fig. 3A, the fastening part 6 has been pivoted about the axis 11 relative to the mounting plate 5 to such an extent that the latch 7 rests with an actuating surface 22 against the guide cam 21 of the bolt 9. The bolt 9 forms a V-shaped receptacle with a surface 16 on the mounting plate 5 for later receiving the latch 7, wherein the contact surface 15 and the surface 16 can be arranged at an angle between 40° and 90°, preferably 50° and 80°.
[0024] The fastening part 6 can be mounted with little effort by pivoting the fastening part 6 about the axis 11 relative to the mounting plate 5. Since the pawl 7 rests with the actuating surface 22 against the guide cam 21, the pawl 7 cannot be moved further downward freely with the fastening part 6, but is pivoted about the axis 13 against the force of a spring 8 while the fastening part 6 is pivoted further. In this embodiment, the pawl 7 is turned counterclockwise and the spring 8 is further tensioned.
[0025] In Fig. 3C, the fastening part 6 has been pivoted onto the mounting plate 5, whereby the latch 7 with the actuating surface 22 has just lost contact with the guide cam 21 on the latch 9. As a result, the latch 7 can now be rotated clockwise by the force of the spring 8, as shown in Fig. 3D. An eccentric tensioning curve 14 of the latch 7 engages with the contact surface 15 on the latch and begins to clamp the fastening part 6 relative to the mounting plate 5. In this embodiment, the fastening part 6 is displaced to the left.
[0026] In Fig. Figure 3E shows the assembled position, in which the eccentric clamping cam 14 rests against the contact surface 15 and the fastening part 6 rests against the surface 16 of the mounting plate 5. The relatively rapid movement of the latch 7 by the spring 8 can be perceived haptically and acoustically, so that a clicking sound reassures the installer that the fastening part 6 is locked to the mounting plate 5.
[0027] The contact between the eccentric clamping curve 14 and the contact surface 15 creates a tolerance compensation in the x-direction, so that a play-free bearing of the axis 11 in the bearing holder 10 is ensured.
[0028] Furthermore, the contact between the clamping cam 14 and the contact surface 15 moves the fastening part 6 in the y-direction until contact is established between the fastening part 6 and the mounting plate 5 in the area of surface 16. This ensures that the system is also free of play in the y-direction, and no disturbing noises are generated by the movement of the parts relative to each other. For optimal force transmission, the contact point between the mounting plate 5 and the fastening part 6 is located below the axis 13.
[0029] In addition, self-locking occurs through the interaction of the clamping curve 14 and the contact surface 15 in the event of a tensile load in the y-direction. In this case, the resulting friction causes the latch 7 to rotate along the spring force of the spring 8, thus securing the connection between the mounting plate 5 and the fastening part 6.
[0030] In Fig. 4 shows the hinge part 4 with the mounting plate 5 and the fastening part 6. The mounting plate 5 can be formed in one piece and comprises two bars 9 protruding from the plate, between which a recess 17 is formed. In a central region of the mounting plate 5, two projections 18 are optionally formed, which form a stop for the axis 12. Furthermore, the mounting plate 5 has the bearing holder 10 for the axis 11, as well as two strips 24 for securing the fastening part 6 in the transverse direction of the mounting plate 5. For the positioning of the fastening part 6 on the mounting plate 5, further surfaces 25 and 67 are formed on the two components. The surface 25 is formed on a side surface of the bar 9 and the surface 67 on an inner side of the side wall 60 of the fastening part 6, which ensure optimal positioning in the y-direction during assembly thanks to a run-in bevel on the upper side of the surface 25.Furthermore, forces in the transverse direction can be absorbed in the mounted position via the contact between the two surfaces 25 and 67.
[0031] The fastening part 6 is frame-shaped and comprises two side walls 60, each of which has three openings 61, 62, and 63 formed thereon to accommodate the axes 11, 12, and 13. As a result, the axes 11, 12, and 13 are fixed to the fastening part 6 on opposite sides.
[0032] The pawl 7 is designed as a sleeve arranged around the axis 13. The pawl 7 has an opening 26 in a central region in which a spring 8 is mounted on the axis 13. The pawl 7 is pretensioned in a rotational direction by the spring 8, here in the form of a helical spring. The spring 8 can be supported at one end on the fastening part 6 and at the opposite end on the pawl 7. Two eccentric tensioning curves 14 are formed on the pawl 7, with one eccentric tensioning curve 14 each coming into contact with one of the two latches 9. It is advantageous if the two surfaces of the tensioning curve 14 and the contact surface 15 are provided with a roughness in order to reinforce the self-locking effect. Furthermore, two actuating surfaces 22 are formed on the pawl, each of which interacts with a guide cam 21 on the latches 9 during the assembly process.A release element 19 is formed between the two eccentric clamping curves 14, which is used for disassembly. The release element 19 is designed as a projection here.
[0033] In the Fig. 5A and Fig. 5B shows the mounting plate 5 in detail. The mounting plate 5 has a flat surface on the side opposite the latch 9 and can be glued there to a plate-shaped object, in particular a glass door. Fastening using other fastening means, e.g., screws, is also possible. The mounting plate 5 can be manufactured in one piece with the two latches 9, the projections 18, the strips 24, and the bearing support 10, for example, from plastic or metal.
[0034] In the Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B shows the fastening part 6, which has two side walls 60 connected to a recess 66 in the region of the axis 13 via a connecting section 64. The unlocking element 19 can be inserted into the recess 66 when the latch 7 is released. A further connecting section 65 is formed between the side walls 60 in the region of the axes 11 and 12.
[0035] In the Fig. 7A and Fig. 7B, the latch 7 is shown in detail. The latch 7 comprises a bearing receptacle 20 for inserting the axle 13. Two eccentric clamping cams 14 are formed at two spaced locations, the radial distance of which varies from the axle 13. At the same locations, on a different circumferential surface of the latch 7, the two actuating surfaces 22 are formed. A release element 19 is formed between the two clamping cams 14 and actuating surfaces 22. As shown in the side view in Fig. As shown in Figure 7B, the release element 19 is hook-shaped. The opening 26 for the spring 8 is provided on the side of the latch 7 opposite the release element 19. The stop 23 is formed on the end faces of the latch 7, adjacent to the bearing receptacle 20.
[0036] In Fig. 8A, the hinge 1 is shown with a tool 30 in the form of a screwdriver, which engages with a tip 35 in the fastening part 6 and there engages between the release element 19 and the mounting plate 5. The tool 30 can now be pivoted, as shown in Fig. 8B, so that the pawl 7 is pivoted against the force of the spring 8, whereby the eccentric tensioning cam 14 is moved past the guide cam 21 on the bolt 9. In Fig. 8B further shows that contact is established between the tool 30 and a part of the joint mechanism 3. This contact point serves as a pivot point and facilitates the disassembly of the fastening element 6, since the tool 30 is held in place in this manner and, after the latch 7 is unlocked, the fastening element 6 is pivoted down from the mounting plate 5 by the force applied. Depending on the design of the joint mechanism 3, the contact point with the tool 30 can also change during the disassembly process.
[0037] In Fig. Figure 8C shows the unlocked position, in which the latch 7 has been released from the two locks 9 on the mounting plate 5. If the tool 30 is now removed from the fastening part 6, the latch 7 can be pivoted back into its original position by the force of the spring 8, so that the fastening part 6 is ready for the next assembly process. In this initial position, the latch 7 rests against the surface 68 of the fastening part 6 via the stop 23.
[0038] If the mounting plate 5 is adhesively attached to the door, the Fig.8 is particularly advantageous. During the disassembly process, the tangential contact surface between the contact surface 15 and the clamping curve 14 exerts a force component on the mounting plate 5 primarily in the x-direction, i.e., along the mounting plate 5, and only very slightly in the y-direction. The force in the x-direction can be effectively compensated or diverted via the latches 9 and the receptacle 10. This prevents a peeling effect on the adhesive surface and ensures a long-lasting attachment of the mounting plate 5.
[0039] In the illustrated embodiment, the pawl 7 is rotatably mounted on the fastening part 6 in order to fix the fastening part 6 to the bars 9 of the mounting plate 5. Conversely, it is of course also possible to provide the pawl 7 on the mounting plate 5 and to arrange bars 9 on the fastening part 6, to which the eccentric clamping curve 14 can be fixed. The number of eccentric clamping curves 14 on the pawl 7 can be modified; for example, only a single eccentric clamping curve 14 can be provided on the pawl 7. Alternatively, more than two clamping curves 14 can be provided. A number of bars 9 corresponding to the clamping curves 14 must be provided accordingly.
