Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF REVELATION 1. Area of Revelation
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a heating device configured to supply heated air. 2. Description of the state of the art
[0002] A heater is a device that generates heat through a heat-generating operation and is widely used in various systems, such as a hot air blower or a vehicle air conditioner. Such a heater can be implemented as a PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heater, whose heating value is adjusted by controlling the applied current based on a PWM duty cycle.
[0003] In hybrid or electric vehicles, a heating system that uses electrical energy is mainly used because the coolant of an internal combustion engine, which is needed for heating, is insufficient or not available.
[0004] Recently, a heater has been mounted on one side of a grill, from which the air is discharged. However, such a heater has a fixed configuration that heats the air without a separate function for controlling the airflow direction.
[0005] To improve heat dissipation efficiency, the heater is also configured with the heat dissipation plates offset from each other. However, this arrangement creates resistance to airflow. Furthermore, it is not possible to selectively provide radiant heat through the heater, and a portion of the heat energy is always used or consumed as radiant heat, resulting in a deterioration in the efficiency of convection heat transfer.

[0035] The heating device according to the present disclosure can be used in an air conditioning system for mobility vehicles and also in various other systems for providing heat for heating.
[0036] The heating device according to the present disclosure can be realized in various embodiments.
[0037] The heating device comprises a housing 100 with an air flow space S defined therein. The housing 100 is shaped differently depending on the intended use and has an inlet and an outlet through which air can flow.
[0038] The air flow space S in the housing 100 is flowed through by air, and a heat-conducting plate 200 and a heater 300 are provided in the air flow space S.
[0039] The heat-conducting plate 200 is provided in multiple copies. The plurality of heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged and rotatably mounted in the airflow space S of the housing 100, and a plurality of ventilation holes H are formed in the plurality of heat-conducting plates 200.
[0040] The heating device 300 is present in multiple copies. The plurality of heating devices 300 are coupled to the heat-conducting plates 200 and serve to generate heat. The heating devices 300 can be foil heaters that can be attached to the heat-conducting plates 200.
[0041] The heat-conducting plates 200 may be made of aluminum and the heating devices 300 may be designed as PTC heating devices.
[0042] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, as shown in Fig. 2, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged transversely to the airflow space S in the housing 100 and rotatably mounted to change the flow direction of the air flowing through the airflow space S. For example, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, or they may be arranged to be elongated in the airflow direction in the airflow space S. Accordingly, the heat-conducting plates 200 can adjust the flow direction of the air flowing through the airflow space S.
[0043] Since the plurality of ventilation holes H are formed in the heat-conducting plates 200, air can flow through the ventilation holes H even when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S.
[0044] Since the heaters 300 are coupled to the heat-conducting plates 200, the heaters 300 can be adjusted in position along with the heat-conducting plates 200. The heaters 300 serve to heat air flowing through the airflow space S and supply heat to the heat-conducting plates 200 through their heat-generating operation, thereby improving the convection heat transfer performance.
[0045] In order to rotate the heat-conducting plates 200, the heating device according to the present disclosure further includes a connecting unit 400 connected to rotation centers P of the heat-conducting plates 200, and a driving unit 500 connected to the connecting unit 400 to move the connecting unit 400 and thus rotate the heat-conducting plates 200.
[0046] The connecting unit 400 may be configured to be connected to the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 and to convert their linear motion into a rotational motion of the heat-conducting plates 200 by the drive unit 500. The drive unit 500 may be embodied as a motor, for example, and the connecting unit 400 may be connected to the heat-conducting plates 200 via a rack and pinion mechanism. Accordingly, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be rotated simultaneously with the operation of the drive unit 500. The drive unit 500 may be controlled by a controller.
[0047] The drive unit 500 may be mounted outside the housing 100 so as not to impede the airflow, and the connection unit 400 extends through the housing 100 to be connected to the heat-conducting plates 200.
[0048] According to the present disclosure, when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the heat-conducting plates 200 may partially overlap in the air flow direction.
[0049] When the heat-conducting plates 200 are changed in their rotational position so that they face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the heat-conducting plates 200 partially overlap, thereby improving the efficiency of radiant heat by the heaters 300.
[0050] Specifically, the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are located on the same line. Each of the heat-conducting plates 200 includes one side portion 210 and the other side portion 220, which are formed opposite each other with respect to the rotation center and extend in a straight line. When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, one side portion 210 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the other side portion 220 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 may overlap each other.
[0051] Since the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are located on the same line, it is easy to form a structure in which the heat-conducting plates 200 are connected to each other via the connecting unit 400 and rotated simultaneously. Furthermore, since the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are located on the same line, when the heat-conducting plates 200 are rotated to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, one side portion 210 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the other side portion 220 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 can overlap each other in an oblique direction. One side portion 210 and the other side portion 220 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 can be formed to have the same length.
[0052] When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, one side portion 210 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the other side portion 220 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 may be spaced apart from each other so that air flows between them.
[0053] Furthermore, when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the ventilation holes H formed in different heat-conducting plates 200 may be offset from each other. When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to be elongated in the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the heater 300 coupled to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may face an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200.
[0054] In other words, as in Fig. 2, when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, they are oriented in the same oblique direction, and one side portion 210 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the other side portion 220 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 face each other because the heat-conducting plates 200 are simultaneously rotated at the same angle. In this case, since the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the oblique direction, one side portion 210 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the other side portion 220 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 are spaced apart from each other, and thus air flows between them.Accordingly, the air flowing through the air flow space S in the housing 100 flows through the ventilation holes H in the heat-conducting plates 200 and spreads between one side portion 210 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the other side portion 220 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200, whereby a heating area by the heaters 300 can be increased.
[0055] When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to extend in the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the heater 300 coupled to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 can also provide heat to an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200, as shown in Fig. 3. As a result, the heat-conducting plates 200 can dissipate radiant heat, which can improve the convection heat transfer performance.
[0056] In the state where the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged facing the airflow direction in the airflow space S, the heaters 300 can be arranged on the surfaces of the heat-conducting plates 200 opposite to the airflow direction. Accordingly, the radiant heat transfer performance is ensured because the heaters 300 generate heat in a direction in which heat is to be provided in the airflow space S of the housing 100.
[0057] As described above, according to the present disclosure, the rotational position of the heat-conducting plates 200 is determined depending on the modes. That is, in the radiation mode, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, and in the convection mode, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to be elongated in the airflow direction in the airflow space S.
[0058] The radiation mode is a mode for improving the radiant heat transfer performance. As in Fig. 2, the heat-conducting plates 200 partially overlap each other in an oblique direction because the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged facing the air flow direction in the air flow space S. Accordingly, the heaters 300 coupled to the heat-conducting plates 200 are aligned in the air flow direction, thereby improving the efficiency of radiant heat transfer. Furthermore, the air is heated by the heaters 300 while flowing between the heat-conducting plates 200.
[0059] The convection mode is a mode for improving the convection heat transfer performance. As in Fig. 3, the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to extend in the air flow direction in the air flow space S, thereby reducing the resistance to the air flowing through the air flow space S. In particular, since the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face each other, the heat generated by the heater 300 coupled to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 is transferred to an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200. This reduces the amount of energy wasted as radiant heat, allowing the temperature of the convection heat to be slightly increased.
[0060] According to another embodiment, as in Fig. 4, the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are located on the same line, and each of the heat-conducting plates 200 includes a first surface portion 230 and a second surface portion 240 formed opposite each other with respect to the rotation center. The first surface portion 230 and the second surface portion 240 may be formed to be spaced apart from each other and may have a plurality of ventilation holes H formed therein.
[0061] Accordingly, when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 may partially face each other in the air flow direction.
[0062] The heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged transversely to the airflow space S in the housing 100 and rotatably mounted therein. The first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be formed such that they are spaced apart from each other, and the ventilation holes H may be formed in each of the surface element portions. Thus, the heat-conducting plates 200 can change the flow direction of the air flowing through the airflow space S depending on their rotational position.
[0063] For example, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, or they may be arranged to be elongated in the air flow direction in the air flow space S. Accordingly, the heat-conducting plates 200 can adjust the flow direction of the air flowing through the air flow space S.
[0064] Specifically, the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are located on the same line, and when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 may be arranged to be spaced apart from each other in the air flow direction.
[0065] As in Fig. 4, it is possible to form a structure in which the heat-conducting plates 200 are connected to each other via the connecting unit 400 and are rotated at the same time because the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are on the same line.
[0066] Since the first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 are formed to be spaced apart from each other, the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 can overlap each other in the air flow direction in the air flow space S when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction.
[0067] Each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may have a connecting end portion 250 connecting the first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240, and the connecting end portion 250 may be connected between the first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240 in such a manner as to be perpendicular thereto.
[0068] In this way, each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may include the first surface element portion 230, the connecting end portion 250, and the second surface element portion 240, and the first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240 may extend from the respective ends of the connecting end portion 250 in opposite directions so as to be perpendicular to the connecting end portion 250. The first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be formed to have the same length.
[0069] Accordingly, when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 can be arranged to be spaced apart from each other in the air flow direction, and thus air can flow between the first surface element portion 230 and the second surface element portion 240.
[0070] In addition, the ventilation holes H may also be formed in the connecting end portions 250 of the heat-conducting plates 200. When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to extend in the airflow direction in the airflow space S, the first surface element portions 230 and the second surface element portions 240 are arranged to extend in the airflow direction, so that the resistance to the airflow is reduced. In addition, since air flows through the ventilation holes H in the connecting end portions 250, the airflow loss through the connecting end portions 250 is reduced.
[0071] When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, the ventilation holes H formed in different heat-conducting plates 200 may be offset from each other. When the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to be elongated in the airflow direction in the airflow space S, the heater 300 coupled to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may face an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200.
[0072] As in Fig. 4, the first surface member portions 230 and the second surface member portions 240 are arranged transversely to the air flow space S, and the first surface member portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface member portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 face each other in a state of being spaced apart from each other because the heat-conducting plates 200 are rotated at the same angle at the same time when the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S.
[0073] Furthermore, since the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 are spaced apart from each other, air can flow between them. Accordingly, the air flowing through the airflow space S in the housing 100 flows through the ventilation holes H in the heat-conducting plates 200 and spreads between the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200, thereby increasing a heating area by the heaters 300.
[0074] If the heat-conducting plates 200, as in Fig. 5, are arranged to extend in the air flow direction in the air flow space S, air flows through the ventilation holes H formed in the connecting end portions 250 of the heat-conducting plates 200, with the first surface portions 230 of the heat-conducting plates 200 facing each other and the second surface portions 240 of the heat-conducting plates 200 facing each other. In this state, the heater 300 coupled to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 provides heat to the surface portions of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200. As a result, the heat-conducting plates 200 can dissipate radiant heat, whereby the convection heat transfer performance can be improved.
[0075] In the state where the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged facing the airflow direction in the airflow space S, the heaters 300 can be arranged on the surfaces of the heat-conducting plates 200 opposite to the airflow direction. Accordingly, the radiant heat transfer performance is ensured because the heaters 300 generate heat in a direction in which heat should be provided in the airflow space S in the housing 100.
[0076] As described above, according to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the rotational position of the heat-conducting plates 200 is determined depending on the modes. That is, in the radiation mode, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, and in the convection mode, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to be elongated in the airflow direction in the airflow space S.
[0077] The radiation mode is a mode for improving the radiant heat transfer performance. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 4, the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged facing the airflow direction in the airflow space S, so that the first surface element portion 230 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 and the second surface element portion 240 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 overlap each other in the airflow direction. Accordingly, the heaters 300 coupled to the heat-conducting plates 200 are aligned in the airflow direction, thereby improving the efficiency of radiant heat transfer. Furthermore, the air is heated by the heaters 300 while flowing between the heat-conducting plates 200.
[0078] The convection mode is a mode for improving the convection heat transfer performance. As in Fig. 5, the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged such that the first surface element portions 230 and the second surface element portions 240 are elongated in the air flow direction in the air flow space S, thereby reducing the resistance to the air flowing through the air flow space S. In particular, since the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face each other, the heat generated by the heater 300 connected to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 is transferred to an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200. This reduces the amount of energy wasted as radiant heat, allowing the temperature of the convection heat to be easily increased.
[0079] According to a further embodiment, as in Fig. 6, each of the heat-conducting plates 200 includes a fixed portion 260 arranged to extend in the air flow direction in the air flow space, a rotatable portion 270 rotatably connected to the fixed portion 260, and a plurality of ventilation holes H formed in the fixed portion 260 and the rotatable portion 270.
[0080] Specifically, the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged transversely to the airflow space S in the housing 100, and each of the heat-conducting plates 200 is formed of the fixed portion 260 and the rotatable portion 270. Here, the fixed portion 260 is arranged to extend in the airflow direction in the airflow space S in the housing 100, and the rotatable portion 270 is rotatably mounted on the fixed portion 260. The rotatable portion 270 may be arranged closer to the outlet of the airflow space S than the fixed portion 260.
[0081] The ventilation holes H may be formed in the fixed portions 260 and the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200, and the heat-conducting plates 200 may adjust the flow direction of the air flowing through the air flow space S depending on the rotational position of the rotatable portions 270.
[0082] For example, the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to face the air flow direction in the air flow space S, or they may be arranged to be elongated in the air flow direction in the air flow space S, so that the heat-conducting plates 200 can adjust the flow direction of the air flowing through the air flow space S.
[0083] In particular, each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be installed in the housing 100 such that the fixed portion 260 and the rotatable portion 270 are connected to each other and a connection point between the fixed portion 260 and the rotatable portion 270 is defined as a rotation center.
[0084] As in Fig. 6, in each of the heat-conducting plates 200, the rotatable portion 270 is rotatably connected to the fixed portion 260. Since the fixed portion 260 is arranged to extend in the air flow direction in the air flow space S in the housing 100 and the rotatable portion 270 is rotated with respect to the fixed portion 260, the fixed portion 260 and the rotatable portion 270 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged in an "L" shape or an "I" shape, or they may be arranged to form an acute angle or an obtuse angle between them.
[0085] Here, the rotation centers of the heat-conducting plates 200 are on the same line, so that a structure can be easily formed in which the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 are rotated simultaneously.
[0086] In this way, the fixed portions 260 of the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged transversely to the airflow space S so as to face each other. That is, the heater 300 coupled to each of the heat-conducting plates 200 faces the fixed portion 260 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200 and provides heat to the fixed portion 260. As a result, the heat-conducting plates 200 can dissipate radiant heat, thereby improving the convection heat transfer performance.
[0087] In addition, in each of the heat-conducting plates 200, the rotatable portion 270 is rotated with respect to the fixed portion 260, and accordingly, the air flow direction and the direction of radiant heat emission of the heater 300 can be adjusted depending on the rotational position of the rotatable portion 270.
[0088] As described above, according to another embodiment of the present disclosure, the rotational position of the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 is determined depending on the modes. That is, in the radiation mode, the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S, and in the convection mode, the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 may be arranged to extend in the airflow direction in the airflow space S.
[0089] The radiation mode is a mode for improving the radiant heat transfer performance. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face the airflow direction in the airflow space S. Accordingly, the heaters 300 coupled to the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 are aligned in the airflow direction, thereby improving the efficiency of radiant heat transfer. Furthermore, the air is heated by the heaters 300 at the mounting portions 260 and the rotatable portions 270 and flows through the ventilation holes H in the rotatable portions 270.
[0090] The convection mode is a mode for improving the convection heat transfer performance. As in Fig.7, the rotatable portions 270 of the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to extend in the airflow direction in the airflow space S, thereby reducing the resistance to the air flowing through the airflow space S. Furthermore, since the fixed portions 260 of the heat-conducting plates 200 are arranged to face each other, the heat generated by the heater 300 coupled to the attachment portion 260 of each of the heat-conducting plates 200 is transferred to the attachment portion 260 of an adjacent heat-conducting plate 200. This reduces the amount of energy wasted as radiant heat, making it easy to increase the temperature of the convection heat. In addition, the direction of the airflow can be changed depending on the rotation angle of the rotatable portions 270.
[0091] As can be seen from the above description, the heating device structured as described above can provide heat for heating in various modes such as an air flow direction control mode, a special radiant heat mode, and a special convection heat mode by rotating the heat-conducting plates according to user requirements, thereby increasing user satisfaction.
[0092] In addition, the heat-conducting plates can increase the heating performance by ensuring a heat output appropriate to the intended use.
[0093] Although the preferred embodiments of the present disclosure have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, one skilled in the art will recognize that various changes, additions, and substitutions are possible without departing from the scope and spirit of the disclosure as disclosed in the appended claims.
