[0003] A heavy-duty connector typically includes a housing, a core, and terminals. The core is fixed in the housing, and the terminals are installed in the core. In the prior art, the core cannot float relative to the housing. Therefore, if there is a misalignment between the heavy-duty connector and the mating heavy-duty connector, it will be difficult for the two to mate, and in serious cases, the two mated connectors may be damaged. Furthermore, in the prior art, there is no waterproof structure between the heavy-duty connector and the mounting plate, as well as between the heavy-duty connector and the mating heavy-duty connector, making it easy for water vapor to penetrate the interior of the heavy-duty connector, leading to damage and failure of the heavy-duty connector. The connector includes: a housing having a height direction; a core installed in the housing; and a terminal provided in the core and extending along the height direction. Claims
[1] Connector comprising: a housing (1) with a height direction (Z); a core (2) installed in the housing (1); and a terminal (3) provided in the core (2) and extending along the height direction (Z), wherein the core is floatingly installed in the housing (1) and can move with respect to the housing (1) in a direction perpendicular to the height direction (Z). [2] The connector according to claim 1, wherein a first connection hole (22) is formed in the core (2) and a first threaded bore (14) is formed in the housing (1), the connector further comprising a first threaded connecting piece (4) passing through the first connection hole (22) and screwed into the first threaded bore (14); wherein the diameter of the first threaded connecting piece (4) is smaller than the first connecting hole (22) and the axial direction of the first connecting hole (22) and the first threaded bore (14) is parallel to the height direction (Z), so that the core (2) can be moved with respect to the housing (1) in a radial direction of the first connecting hole (22). [3] The connector according to claim 2, wherein the core (2) has a first connecting ear (21) and the housing (1) has a first installation portion (11) protruding from the bottom wall of the housing (1), wherein the first connecting hole (22) and the first threaded bore (14) are formed in the first connecting ear (21) and the first installation portion (11), respectively; wherein the distance between the head (41) of the first threaded connector (4) and the first installation portion (11) in the height direction (Z) is greater than the thickness of the first connecting ear (21) in the height direction (Z), so that the core (2) can be moved with respect to the housing (1) in the height direction (Z). [4] The connector according to claim 3, wherein the first connecting ear (21) has a first upper surface and bottom surface which are opposite in the height direction (Z), and a first side surface (12b) which is connected between the first upper surface and bottom surface and is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (Y) of the housing (1); wherein the first communication hole (22) extends between the first upper surface (21a) and the first bottom surface and has a side opening formed in the first side surface (12b), so that the first communication hole (22) is a semicircular slotted hole with a side opening. [6] The connector of claim 1, further comprising: a first installation plate (5) formed with a first installation opening (501); and a first sealing ring (7) provided between the bottom wall of the housing (1) and the first installation plate (5), wherein the bottom wall of the housing (1) is fixed to the first installation plate (5) and is formed with a bottom opening corresponding to the first installation opening (501), so that a first cable can penetrate, wherein a first seal ring installation groove (17) is formed on the bottom wall of the housing (1) for installing and positioning a first seal ring (7), the first seal ring (7) surrounding the first installation opening (501) and being compressed between the bottom wall of the housing (1) and the first installation plate (5) to achieve a seal therebetween. [7] The connector according to claim 6, wherein a first anti-malfunction hole (1b) is formed in the bottom of one side of the housing (1) and a first anti-malfunction projection (5b) is formed on the first installation plate (5), wherein the first anti-malfunction projection (5b) cooperates with the first anti-malfunction hole (1b) to prevent the housing (1) from being installed on the first installation plate (5) in an incorrect orientation. [8] The connector of claim 6, further comprising: a first end cap (9) installed at one end of the core (2) and having a first locking portion (9a) abutting against the end face of one end of the terminal (3) to prevent the terminal (3) from being pulled out of the core (2), wherein a first elastic buckle (9c) is formed on the first end cap (9), and the first elastic buckle (9c) is attached to one end of the core (2); wherein a first cable hole (9b) is formed in the first end cap (9) to allow a first cable to pass therethrough, the first cable being electrically connected to one end of the terminal (3) and being led out of the core (2) through the first cable hole (9b), wherein the other end of the terminal (3) is used for connection to a mating terminal (3') of a mating connector (100'). [9] The connector according to any one of claims 1 to 8, further comprising: an elastic sealing ring (6) fitted onto the peripheral wall of the housing (1), wherein the elastic sealing ring (6) is arranged to be compressed between the housing (1) of the connector (100) and a counter-housing (1') of a counter-connector (100') in order to achieve a seal between the two. [10] Connector assembly comprising: the connector (100) according to any one of claims 1 to 9; and a mating connector (100') connected to the connector (100). [11] The connector assembly of claim 10, wherein the mating connector (100') comprises: a counter housing (1') which is connected to the housing (1) of the connector (100); a counter core (2') installed in the counter housing (1') and connected to the core (2) of the connector (100); and a counter terminal (3') provided in the counter core (2') and connected to the terminal (3) of the connector (100), wherein the counter core (2') is installed floatingly in the counter housing (1') and can be moved with respect to the counter housing (1') in a direction perpendicular to the height direction (Z) of the counter housing (1'). [12] The connector assembly according to claim 11, wherein a second connection hole (22') is formed in the counter core (2') and a second threaded bore (14') is formed in the counter housing (1'), the connector further comprises a second threaded connecting piece (4') which passes through the second connection hole (22') and is screwed into the second threaded bore (14'); wherein the diameter of the second threaded connecting piece (4') is smaller than that of the second connecting hole (22') and the axial direction of the second connecting hole (22') and the second threaded bore (14') is parallel to the height direction (Z), so that the counter core (2') can be moved with respect to the counter housing (1') in a radial direction of the second connecting hole (22'). [13] The connector assembly according to claim 12, wherein the counter core (2') has a second connecting ear (21') and the counter housing (1') has a second installation portion (11') arranged on the bottom wall of the counter housing (1'), wherein the second connecting hole (22') and the second threaded bore (14') are formed in the second connecting ear (21') and the second installation portion (11'), respectively; wherein the distance between the head of the second threaded connector (4') and the second installation portion (11') in the height direction (Z) is greater than the thickness of the second connecting ear (21') in the height direction (Z), so that the counter core (2') can be moved with respect to the counter housing (1') in the height direction (Z). [14] The connector assembly according to claim 13, wherein the second connecting ear (21') has a second surface (21a') and a second bottom surface opposite to each other in the height direction (Z) and a second side surface (21b') connected between the second upper surface (21a') and the second bottom surface and perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (Y) of the counter housing (1'); wherein the second communication hole (22') extends between the second upper surface (21a') and the second bottom surface and has a side opening formed in the second side surface (21b'), so that the second communication hole (22') is a semicircular slot with a side opening. [15] The connector assembly according to claim 14, wherein the counter core (2') has a pair of second connecting ears (21') opposite to each other in the longitudinal direction (Y) of the counter housing (1'), and the counter housing (1') has a pair of second installation portions (11') each corresponding to the pair of second connecting ears (21'); wherein the mating connector (100') comprises a pair of second threaded connectors (4') each connecting the pair of second connecting ears (21') to the pair of second installation sections (11'). [16] The connector assembly of claim 11, further comprising: a second installation plate (5') formed with a second installation opening (501'); and a second sealing ring (7') which is arranged between the bottom wall of the counter housing (1') and the second installation plate (5') is provided, wherein the bottom wall of the counter housing (1') is fixed to the second installation plate (5') and is formed with a bottom opening corresponding to the second installation opening (501') to allow a second cable to pass through, wherein a second sealing ring installation groove (17') is formed on the bottom wall of the counter housing (1') for installing and positioning the second sealing ring (7'), the second sealing ring (7') surrounds the second installation opening (501') and is compressed between the bottom wall of the counter housing (1') and the second installation plate (5'), to achieve a seal between the two.
