Total pressure sensor for water-based canister system

Abstract

A system for dispensing paint by a painting robot. The system comprises a common line, a paint distributor containing a multitude of valves connected to a paint source and the common line, a solvent / air distributor containing a multitude of valves connected to a solvent source or an air source and the common line, and a vacuum distributor containing a multitude of valves and a vacuum generator connected to the common line. A total pressure sensor is positioned in the common line and measures or detects one or more of the paint pressure, solvent pressure, air pressure, vacuum, and paint / solvent / air leaks at various times during system operation.
