AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing applicators lack a mechanism to prevent bacterial contamination during use, particularly when a Luer-Lock adapter is involved, and do not have a locking system to ensure the product remains sealed without user intervention.

Method used

A sterile applicator with a locking system and Luer-Lock adapter, comprising a bottle with a coarse internal thread, a component with a female Luer-Lock adapter, and a pipette/dropper, all with coarse threads, ensuring secure attachment and a locking mechanism to prevent unauthorized opening.

Benefits of technology

The solution effectively prevents bacterial contamination by ensuring the applicator remains sealed and secure, maintaining sterility until use.

Description

The invention relates to a sterile applicator with a locking system and a luer lock adapter. The applicator is three-piece and comprises:(1) a shaped bottle having a coarse internal thread;(2) a coarse threaded component and a female luer lock adapter, said coarse thread being threaded into the bottle of (1);(3) a component with pipette / dropper and coarse thread which can be screwed again into the same bottle. The applicator has a cover and a locking mechanism to allow the product to be visually observed and not opened without force by the end user. The combination of the luer lock adapter and the locking system prevents bacterial contamination by the user.DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURESFIG. 1 a : External view of the applicator with cover FIG. 1 b : external view of the pipette / dropper FIG. 1 c : Cross-sectional view of pipette / dropper FIG. 1d : Cross-sectional view of the upper part of the bottle onto which the pipette / dropper / pipes are screwed FIG. 1 e : Component with female Luer lock adapter FIG. 2 a : partial cross-sectional view of the locking system in the closed state FIG. 2 b : top view of the locking system FIG. 2c: Bottom view of the locking system FIGS. 3a-3c : Schematic illustration of the sequence of the attachment of the pipette / dropper / pipette to the bottle

Claims

A sterile locking system luer lock adapter applicator, the applicator comprising three parts: (1) a contoured rough internal thread bottle; (2) a rough thread component and a female luer lock adapter, the rough thread being threaded into the bottle according to (1); (3) a pipette / dropper component and a rough thread which can be screwed back into the same bottle.
