AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing dispensing systems damage sensitive test substances when dispensing liquid vertically into wells due to nozzle alignment perpendicular to the dispensing cassette.

Method used

The dispensing system is modified to align nozzles parallel to the dispensing cassette, ensuring the liquid is dispensed without damaging the test substances in the wells.

Benefits of technology

This alignment prevents damage to sensitive test substances during dispensing, maintaining their integrity.

Abstract

Dispensing cassette with angled nozzles, characterized in that the nozzles (2) are installed at an angle in the cassette not perpendicular to the dispensing cassette (1) and thus the fluid jet (3) does not impinge perpendicularly on the test substance (6), but on the side wall of the well (5) of the microtiter plate (4).

Description

[0001] In known dispensing systems, such as those offered by various manufacturers, the nozzles (2) are typically aligned perpendicular to the dispensing cassette (1) ( Fig. 1).

[0002] During dispensing, the liquid (3) is dosed vertically into the individual wells (5, wells: wells of the plate).

[0003] This damages sensitive test substances (6) that have been previously introduced into the wells (5).

[0004] The invention specified in claim 1 makes it possible to carry out the dispensing in such a way that the test substances in the wells are not damaged ( Fig. 2).

[0005] The problem is solved by the feature listed in claim 1. List of reference symbols 1 dispensing cassette 2 nozzles 3 Fluid jet 4 microtiter plates 5 Well 6 Test substance

Claims

[1] Dispensing cassette with angled nozzles, characterized by that the nozzles (2) are installed at an angle in the cassette not perpendicular to the dispensing cassette (1) and thus the fluid jet (3) does not hit the test substance (6) perpendicularly, but rather the side wall of the well (5) of the microtiter plate (4).
