AI Technical Summary
Existing escape door guards are susceptible to manipulation and lack a secure, permanent method to indicate the next or last inspection date, compromising their integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
An escape door guard with a visual and mechanical manually adjustable date indicator, protected by a transparent cover, allows authorized personnel to set and display the last or next inspection date, using combined rotary disks.
Ensures secure and tamper-proof indication of inspection dates, enhancing compliance and reliability of escape door guards.

Abstract
Description
Introduction:Escape doors in buildings must not be closed in order to be able to leave the building quickly on the direct path in an emergency. In order to be informed about the use of an escape door which is not to be used in daily use, a so-called escape door monitor is used [cf. FIG. 1 ]. This technical device is attached to / below the opening device of the escape door in such a way that although it is possible to use the opening device of the escape door, the escape door monitor is activated in parallel by horizontal or vertical displacement [cf. FIG. 2 ]. The escape door monitor reports the actuation of the opening device in the form of a loud acoustic or electronic main signal. The deactivation of the signal and the opening of the escape door guard are possible only by an authentication method (key, numerical code).Problem:The escape door guard is a device with mechanical and electronic components which are subject to natural wear. Because an escape door guard is installed in an escape route, its functioning is elementary. The use is effected in the industrial and public sector and is subject to a regular test obligation in the course of the legally defined risk assessment and on the basis of the technical rules for workplaces. The specification of the next test, but also the proof of a test that has taken place, often takes place in the form of a test plate chain that is bonded to the surface and can easily be manipulated by unauthorized third parties.Problem:A solution that can be used permanently and is secure against manipulation is to be found, which makes it possible to indicate to the user the time of the next check or else of the last check that has taken place on the escape door guard. In this case, the manko of a solution which is applied to the surface and can be manipulated (removed), for example in the form of an adhesively bonded test plate chain, is to be eliminated. A comparable solution is not known on the market according to the current state of the art.Object Solution:The escape door guard is intended to receive a visual and mechanical manually adjustable date indicator which is mounted behind a transparent protective cover [cf. FIGS. 5 and 6 ]. This display should be adjustable only by authorized persons who simultaneously have the authentication method for opening the escape door guard housing. The date value is set inside the escape door guard. The display is intended to allow a date to be set which can be identified by an additional text message as the last check date or next to be encountered. The display takes place in the form of combined rotary disks [cf. FIGS. 3 and 4 ].List of reference charactersFIG. 1 : escape door guard in a rectangular construction FIG. 2 : Escape door guard mounted below a door latch with functioning FIG. 3 : date indication-rotating disks with a vertical center axis FIG. 4 : date indication - rotary disk with horizontal center axis FIG. 5 : Application example - Rotary disks with a vertical center axis FIG. 6 : Application example - Rotary disks with horizontal center axis
Claims
The claim extends to (1) A manually adjustable date indicator provided for multiple use within an escape door guard, which can be optically read on its surface and is secured by a transparent protective screen. (2) A date indicator according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the date indicator consists of one or more rotary disks. (3) Date indicator according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the rotary disks have central axes which are aligned horizontally or vertically.
