Description

[0001] In medicine, drains must be securely fixed after insertion into the body to prevent accidental removal. There is no standard method for fixation. Instead, surgeons use different, individualized methods. These have various disadvantages, primarily inadequate fixation. If drains are accidentally loosened or pulled out, this can lead to infections and the need for additional medical treatment.

[0002] The invention defined in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating an aid that enables the reliable and standardized production of secure fastening seams on drains.

[0003] This problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1.

[0004] The invention ensures that drains can be reliably and safely fixed using a standardized procedure and the probability of accidental removal is significantly reduced compared to existing procedures.

[0005] An advantageous embodiment of the invention is presented in claims 2 to 7. The instrument can be placed around the drain through a recess in the center and, with the marked puncture points, serves as a template for the suture stitches. Determining the puncture points using the template enables a standardized and error-free procedure. The instrument must lie directly on the skin and is therefore made of a flexible material. The material must also be sterile to prevent infection. After the stitches have been applied to the template, the threads must be wrapped around the drain and attached to the adapter. The adapter must therefore have attachment eyelets. After the sutures have been applied, the template is removed. This is made possible by a perforation that can be torn open and by incisions in the material that lead to the puncture points.

[0006] An embodiment of the invention is described with reference to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 explains. It shows: Fig. 1 Top view of the template

[0007] The figure shows the template (1) and the drainage (2). The template has marked (4) puncture points (5) in the form of circular recesses in the material of the template.

[0008] The surgeon places the template around the drain. Then, he places the stitches at the puncture sites in the order of the markings. After all stitches have been placed, the perforation (6) is torn open, and the template is removed by cutting it along the perforation and the incisions (7).

[0009] Fig. 2 adapters with drainage

[0010] The figure shows the adapter (3) with a tapered tip (8) and two fastening eyelets (9).

[0011] The surgeon inserts the adapter into the drainage, performs the sutures as described under Fig. 1, using the template, wrap the threads around the drainage and finally fix them to the fastening eyelets (9). Claims

[1] Instrument for making fixation sutures on medical drains characterized by that a template (1) is placed around the drainage (2) and an adapter (3) is inserted into the drainage. [2] Instrument according to claim 1, characterized by that the template is provided with marked (4) puncture points (5). [3] Instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the stencil is made of a sterile, flexible and tearable material that lies directly on the skin. [4] Instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the template is used as part of a fastening method. This includes the punctures marked on the template, which must be made in the sequence specified by the markings. [5] Instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized bythat the template is removed after completion of the fastening seam and this is made possible by a perforation (6) and incisions (7). [6] Instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the adapter has a tapered tip (8) so that it is suitable for different drainage cross-sections. [7] Instrument according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the adapter has eyelets (9) to which the fastening thread can be fixed.
