Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwashing basket, or a part thereof.
[0002] Wire baskets are well known, especially washing or rinsing baskets, which are used, for example, in dishwashers. These are typically made of wires that are possibly bent and often only locally welded together to form a frame. The frame is then coated with a plastic, for example, in a sintering process.
[0003] It is known to cross two wires with their side walls lying against each other and to weld them at certain points in the contact area.
[0004] The problem is that the wire hits the plastic coating, causing damage to the plastic coating, particularly at the bluntly cut wire ends, where it tears, breaks, or flakes off, causing the wire basket or part of the wire basket at that point to corrode. The described intersection points, where two wires cross with their side walls adjacent to each other, can also pose a risk of the plastic coating tearing, breaking, or flakes off at those points or at the protruding ends.
[0005] To apply the plastic coating to the wire frame, it is known to mount the wire basket or part of it on a suspension device to coat the wire frame from as many sides as possible. However, after the coating process and removal from the suspension device, an uncoated area remains, namely the contact surface of the wire frame on the suspension device, where the wire basket or part of the wire basket can begin to corrode.
[0006] The object of the invention is therefore to propose an alternative wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwasher basket, or a part thereof.
[0007] The object is achieved according to the invention by a wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwasher basket, or a part thereof having the features of claim 1.
[0008] Advantageous embodiments and further developments are specified in the dependent claims.
[0009] The wire basket according to the invention, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwashing basket, or part of a wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwashing basket, has at least one base wire with a side wall and a longitudinal axis and at least one sacrificial wire arranged on the base wire, wherein the sacrificial wire has a first end, a second end, a side wall and a longitudinal axis, wherein the sacrificial wire is connectable or connected at its second end during the manufacturing and coating process to a suspension device which is separated from the sacrificial wire with a cut after the manufacturing and coating process, so that an uncoated surface remains at the second end of the sacrificial wire, and wherein the sacrificial wire has an end face at its first end and the sacrificial wire is fastened to the base wire by the end face.In particular, the end face can be in contact with the base wire at least partially or completely.
[0010] A sacrificial wire is generally understood to be a short piece of wire which is attached to the wire basket or part of the wire basket and to which a suspension device can be arranged in order to be able to move the wire basket or part of the wire basket in a suspended manner through a coating process so that the coating can be applied from all sides. After the coating process, the suspension device can be separated, leaving an uncoated surface at the second end of the sacrificial wire. However, this uncoated surface is usually the only surface that does not have a coating. The uncoated surface can remain exposed, for example if the sacrificial wire is made of stainless steel. The uncoated surface is preferably covered with a protective cap or touched up with paint after the suspension device has been removed. If the sacrificial wire is attached with its end face to the side wall of the base wire, a particularly compact design is achieved. In particular, the intersection of the sacrificial wire and the base wire can be avoided, resulting in fewer weak points in the coating. In particular, the base wire and the sacrificial wire can be arranged essentially in one plane.
[0011] In addition to the side wall, the base wire typically has two end faces. It is possible for the sacrificial wire to be arranged on one of the end faces of the base wire, in particular such that the longitudinal axis of the sacrificial wire extends in line with the longitudinal axis of the base wire. Advantageously, however, the end face of the sacrificial wire is arranged on the side wall of the base wire, which can offer advantages during the manufacturing process. With such an arrangement, the longitudinal axis of the sacrificial wire runs transversely, for example perpendicularly, to the longitudinal axis of the base wire.
[0012] As part of a wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwasher basket, on the one hand a part arranged pivotably or tiltably on a base frame of the wire basket, such as a folding rake or a spiked rake, a plate holder or a glass holder, or another separate insert, but also a section of the base frame of the wire basket can be regarded.
[0013] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the base wire is made of steel and the sacrificial wire is made of stainless steel. Steel wires are inexpensive to manufacture and weld well, while also being cost-effective. Since the base wire is fully coated, the use of ordinary steel for the base wire is sufficient. However, the sacrificial wire is preferably made of stainless steel, as this leaves an uncoated area, thus reducing the risk of corrosion on the sacrificial wire.
[0014] The sacrificial wire is particularly preferably made of chrome steel, which is particularly insensitive to moisture and does not corrode.
[0015] Preferably, the sacrificial wire is welded to the base wire, which enables a stable connection between the sacrificial wire and the base wire.
[0016] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the adjacent wires are coated with a plastic coating, preferably comprising a polyamide, polypropylene, polyethylene, or PVC, particularly preferably comprising polyamide 11 or polyamide 12. Such materials can provide good corrosion protection and are easy to process.
[0017] Advantageously, the base wire has a length of 40 mm to 1400 mm, preferably 40 mm to 700 mm, particularly preferably 40 mm to 300 mm, and the sacrificial wire has a length of 10 mm to 40 mm. Preferably, the base wire and / or the sacrificial wire have a diameter of 2.5 mm to 10 mm, preferably 2.5 mm to 5 mm. Wires of this size result in stable wire baskets or parts thereof.
[0018] For example, the part of a wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwasher basket, can be designed in this way as a folding rake or spiked rake, plate holder or glass holder.
[0019] The invention is explained in detail with reference to the following figures. Fig. 1 a perspective view of a section of a wire basket with a sacrificial wire, Fig. 2 a side view of a section of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 the perspective view according to Fig. 1, wherein the sacrificial wire is covered with a protective cap and Fig. 4 the side view according to Fig. 2, where the sacrificial wire is covered with a protective cap.
[0020] The Fig. 1 to 4 illustrate different views of a part of a wire basket, in particular a washing or rinsing basket, particularly preferably a dishwasher basket, with a base wire 10 and a sacrificial wire 20 arranged thereon.
[0021] The base wire 10 has a side wall 13 and a longitudinal axis A1. It is possible for the base wire 10 to be angled. In this case, the longitudinal axis A1 refers to the straight section of the base wire 10 on which the sacrificial wire 20 is arranged. The base wire 10 has, in particular, a round cross-section and can be made of steel. The base wire 10 can have a length of 40 mm to 1400 mm, preferably 40 mm to 700 mm, particularly preferably 40 mm to 300 mm, and a diameter D1 of 2.5 mm to 10 mm, preferably 2.5 mm to 5 mm.
[0022] The sacrificial wire 20 has a first end 21, a second end 22, a side wall 23, and a longitudinal axis A2, and is in particular straight. The sacrificial wire 20 has in particular a round cross-section and can be made of stainless steel, for example chromium steel. The sacrificial wire 20 can have a length L2 of 10 mm to 40 mm and a diameter D2 of 2.5 mm to 10 mm, preferably 2.5 mm to 5 mm. At its first end 21, the sacrificial wire 20 has an end face 24. The end face 24 is in particular arranged substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A2 of the sacrificial wire 20.
[0023] In the illustrated embodiment, the sacrificial wire 20 is fastened, in particular welded, with the end face 24 to the side wall 13 of the base wire 10, in particular in such a way that the longitudinal axis A1 of the base wire 10 and the longitudinal axis A2 of the sacrificial wire 20 are arranged substantially at right angles to one another.
[0024] The wires 10, 20 welded together can be coated with a plastic coating, preferably comprising a polyamide, polypropylene, polyethylene or PVC, particularly preferably comprising polyamide 11 or polyamide 12.
[0025] The part of the dishwasher basket can, for example, be a fixed or foldable comb, such as a folding rake or spiked rake, two of which are typically arranged parallel to each other in a dishwashing basket to position plates or similar items in the dishwasher basket, or another plate or glass holder. The dishwasher basket can have a total of two to eight or more such folding or spiked rakes or other parts that move relative to the dishwasher basket.
[0026] A suspension device (not shown) can be arranged on the sacrificial wire 20 during the manufacturing and coating process.
[0027] After the coating process, the suspension device can be separated, leaving an uncoated surface 26 at the second end 22 of the sacrificial wire 20. However, this uncoated surface 26 is usually the only surface that does not have a coating. Especially when the sacrificial wire 20 is made of stainless steel, this uncoated surface 26 can remain exposed. However, the uncoated surface 26 is, as shown in the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, preferably covered with a protective cap 27 after removal of the suspension device. Alternatively, the uncoated surface 26 can also be repaired with a varnish.
