Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a pinch protection device which is suitable for attachment to doors, in particular to the handle and / or to the push pin of the door handle.

[0002] Pinch guards for attaching to doors are designed to protect children in particular from injuries caused by accidentally pinching their fingers between the door leaf and the door frame. They are used primarily in daycare centers and private households with small children, but also in retirement homes, for example, and represent a simple yet effective means of preventing accidents.

[0003] Various designs of pinch protection systems are known from the state of the art, but they have various disadvantages. Many commercially available solutions consist of soft foam or rubber profiles that are attached to the door leaf or frame. However, these materials often offer only limited protection and exhibit increased wear with regular use. Furthermore, rigid pinch protection systems are often difficult to install and lack the flexibility to adapt to different door types or opening directions.

[0004] Particularly simple anti-pinch devices known from the prior art are elongated elements which are arranged with a first end on one side of the door leaf and with a second end on the opposite side of the door leaf, or which are arranged with a first end on a door handle and with a second end on the opposite door handle, so that the middle part of these elongated elements is located between the door leaf and the door frame when attempting to close the door, thus ensuring anti-pinch protection.

[0005] A significant practical problem with such anti-pinch devices, however, is that they must be manually removed or deactivated to fully close the door. When the door is subsequently opened, they must be reattached or reactivated to ensure the anti-pinch protection. However, this additional step is often forgotten in practice, so the anti-pinch device is not active the next time the door is closed and does not fulfill its protective function. This poses a significant safety risk, especially in environments with small children.

[0006] In addition to the aforementioned mechanical anti-pinch devices, electronic anti-pinch devices are also known. An electronic anti-pinch device known from the prior art is described, for example, in DE 10 2017 209 064 A1. The anti-pinch device disclosed therein comprises a light source and a light sensor, which can be arranged relative to one another on a door leaf and / or a door frame in such a way that a light path between the light source and the light sensor can be interrupted by an external object between the door leaf and the door frame. A safety device prevents the door from closing upon detecting an interruption in the light path. Object of the invention

[0007] It is the object of the present invention to provide an alternative anti-pinch device for attachment to doors, which overcomes the aforementioned disadvantages known from the prior art and is characterized in particular in that, when arranged on a door, it offers automatic anti-pinch protection, for which it does not have to be removed or deactivated to close the door and for which it does not have to be reattached or activated to subsequently open the door. General description of the invention

[0008] The invention solves this problem with the features of the claims and in particular with a pinch protection device for attachment to doors, comprising - a bracket with a recess for arranging the bracket on a door handle or a handle pin, - a central part having a first end and an opposite second end, the central part being connected at its first end to the holder by means of an articulated connection, and - a squeezing region which is connected to the middle part at the second end thereof, wherein the middle part, which is arranged with its longitudinal axis substantially vertically, is adapted to move from a first position to a second position by means of the articulated connection when the orientation of the holder changes.

[0009] The anti-pinch device according to the invention comprises or consists of three components: the holder, the central part, and the pinch area. The anti-pinch device according to the invention is arranged on a door handle or a handle pin of a door by guiding the door handle or handle pin through the recess in the holder.

[0010] For the anti-pinch protection provided by the anti-pinch device according to the invention, it is necessary that the connection between the holder and the central part is articulated, because the invention is based on the idea that when a door handle to which the anti-pinch device is attached is pressed down, or the orientation of the holder changes, the central part with the pinch area arranged thereon tilts towards the door opening, where the pinch area protrudes beyond the door leaf and thus offers effective anti-pinch protection. Accordingly, the holder of the anti-pinch device according to the invention is preferably designed to remain unchanged on the door handle or the handle pin when the door handle is actuated, when arranged on the door handle or on the handle pin, and to change its orientation together with the door handle or the handle pin when the door handle or the handle pin moves.Preferably, the longitudinal axis of the holder is arranged vertically when the holder is arranged on a door handle or on a handle pin of a closed door when the door handle is not actuated.

[0011] The pinch area of the pinch protection device according to the invention is firmly, but not necessarily inseparably, connected to the central part, so that it moves together with the central part when it moves.

[0012] Optionally, the pinch area of the pinch protection device according to the invention is made of an elastic material, which is preferably selected from the group comprising or consisting of silicone, rubber, foam and mixtures thereof.

[0013] Preferably, the central part and the pinch area of the pinch protection device according to the invention are connected to one another at a fixed angle, wherein they can also be formed in one piece and / or glued to one another.

[0014] In a preferred embodiment, when the holder is arranged on the door handle or the handle pin of a closed door, the crushing area is designed to contact the door frame, wherein the central part with the crushing area connected thereto is further designed to tilt towards the nearest edge of the door leaf when the door is opened by means of the articulated connection between the holder and the central part, so that the crushing area protrudes at least partially beyond the door leaf and thus projects into the door opening.Furthermore, the anti-pinch device is preferably designed to move the central part back into its original position (first position) via the articulated connection to the holder when the pinch zone protrudes into the door opening when the door handle to which the anti-pinch device is attached is pressed down, so that the pinch zone connected to the central part no longer protrudes into the door opening and the door can be closed again. In this way, the anti-pinch device according to the invention offers automatic pinch protection: When the door is opened, the pinch zone falls into the door opening and prevents fingers, etc., from becoming trapped, since the door can only be closed again by deliberately and completely pressing down the door handle. When the door is closed, the anti-pinch protection is automatically reactivated without the need for any additional manual action.

[0015] Preferably, the central part with the associated crushing area is configured to tilt by 1-45°, preferably 10-40°, more preferably 20-40°, and most preferably 26-36° toward the nearest edge of the door leaf when the door is opened by means of the articulated connection between the bracket and the central part, wherein the crushing area protrudes at least partially beyond the door leaf. The angle at which the central part tilts toward the nearest edge of the door leaf depends in particular on the length of the central part. The central part preferably has a length of 40-70 mm from its first end to its second end.

[0016] The crush zone preferably has a width of 45 mm, measured from the lowest point of the crush zone, which, when the anti-pinch device is mounted on a handle pin, is located centrally above the handle pin of the door handle, to the point where the crush zone contacts the door frame. This width is preferred because the usual shortest distance between a handle pin and a door frame is 45 mm.

[0017] According to a preferred embodiment, the anti-pinch device according to the invention enables, in addition to the automatic anti-pinch protection described above, permanent anti-pinch protection. For this purpose, when the holder is arranged on a door handle or on a handle pin of an open door, in which the central part is in a third position, in which the second end of the central part connected to the pinch area is further away from the same end of the central part in the first position than in the second position, the pinch area is designed to protrude at least partially beyond the door leaf, both when the door handle is not actuated and when the door handle is partially or fully pressed down. In this embodiment, it is therefore impossible to close the door by simply pushing it shut, even when the door handle is pressed down, without deactivating the permanent anti-pinch protection of the anti-pinch device, i.e.to adjust the middle section with the crushing area arranged on it so that the crushing area no longer protrudes beyond the door leaf.

[0018] Preferably, the pinch protection device according to the invention also enables deactivated pinch protection in addition to the automatic pinch protection described above and the permanent pinch protection described in the previous paragraph. For this purpose, the pinch zone is configured so that, when the bracket is arranged on a door handle or on a handle pin, with the central part in a fourth position, in which the second end of the central part connected to the pinch zone is farther away from the nearest edge of the door leaf than the same end of the central part in the first position, it does not protrude beyond the door leaf, both when the door handle is not actuated and when the door handle is partially or fully depressed and the door is open. Detailed description of the invention

[0019] The invention will now be described in more detail by means of embodiments and with reference to the figures in which - Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of a holder 2 of an anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention; - Fig. 2 shows a schematic representation of a holder 2 of an anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention, which is arranged on a push pin; - Fig. 3 shows a schematic representation of various embodiments of pinch areas 5 of an anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention, each of which is arranged on a central part 4; - Fig. 4 shows a schematic representation of a pinch protection device 1 according to the invention arranged on a push pin; and - Fig. 5 shows a schematic representation of a further anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention arranged on a push pin;

[0020] In the Fig. 1 schematically shows a holder 2 of an anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention. This holder has a recess 3 by means of which the holder 2 can be mounted on a door handle or a handle pin. At one end of the holder 2, it has a guide by means of which the holder 2 can be connected to a central part 4 by pushing the central part 4 onto the guide 2. An elongated part of the guide extends essentially parallel to and centrally between the opposite long sides of the holder 2. This elongated part of the guide opens into an arcuate part of the guide. When the central section 4 is attached to the bracket 2, a guide element of the central section 4 can move freely in the central part of the curved section of the guide, thus causing the central section 4 to tilt to the right or left in the central part of the curved section of the guide when the door handle on which the bracket 2 is arranged is operated, until the guide element reaches one of the two markings in the curved section. The guide element can be moved manually by applying pressure beyond the two markings to the opposite ends of the curved section of the guide. These positions are important for the embodiment with permanent anti-pinch protection (guide element located in the left part of the curved section) and deactivated anti-pinch protection (guide element located in the right part of the curved section).

[0021] The Fig. 2 shows the same bracket 2 arranged on a push pin.

[0022] The Fig. 3 shows a schematic representation of various embodiments of crushing areas 5 of an anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention, each of which is arranged on a central part 4. The crushing areas 5 can have any symmetrical or asymmetrical shape. To save material, the crushing areas 5 can also have recesses, such as the smaller palm in the left-hand embodiment, the eye sockets in the middle embodiment, and the elongated recess in the right-hand embodiment. The crushing area 5 preferably has a width of 45 mm in each embodiment, measured from the lowest point of the crushing area 5, which lies above the longitudinal center axis of the central part 4 on a common straight line therewith, to the point at which the crushing area 5 contacts the door frame when arranged on a door handle or a handle pin and when the door is closed. This width is preferred because the usual shortest distance between a handle spindle and a door frame is 45 mm.

[0023] In the Fig. Figure 4 shows an anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention arranged on a handle pin. The anti-pinch device 1 comprises a holder 2, which is arranged on the handle pin of a door handle by means of a recess 3. Furthermore, the anti-pinch device 1 has a central part 4 with a first end and an opposite second end, wherein the central part 4 is connected at its first end to the holder 2 by means of an articulated connection and is connected at its second end to the pinch area 5.

[0024] The figure shows the pinch protection device 1 with the central part 4 in a second position, in which the pinch zone 5 connected to the central part 4 protrudes beyond the door leaf of an open door (indicated by the straight line in the right-hand part of the image) and, with the part of the pinch zone 5 located to the right of the dashed line, protrudes into the door opening, thereby providing pinch protection. Only by fully pushing down the door handle does the central part 4 move back to the first position via the articulated connection to the bracket 2, so that the pinch zone 5 no longer protrudes into the door opening and the door can be closed again.

[0025] In the Fig.Figure 5 shows another anti-pinch device 1 according to the invention, mounted on a handle pin. The anti-pinch device 1 comprises a differently shaped pinch area 5, but is otherwise identical in construction. The width of the pinch area 5 is 45 mm from the lowest point of the pinch area 5, which lies above the longitudinal center axis of the middle part 4 on a common straight line with the latter, to the point at which the pinch area 5 contacts the door frame when mounted on a handle pin of a closed door.

[0026] In the embodiment shown, the height of the middle section 4 is 50mm. When the door is opened, the middle section 4 moves from the first position in which it is shown, by means of the articulated connection to the bracket 2, into a second position by tilting 36° to the right, in the direction of the door opening, and in this position protrudes partially beyond the door leaf and thus offers anti-pinch protection. By fully pressing down the door handle, however, the middle section 4 with the anti-pinch area 5 arranged thereon moves back into the first position shown and the door can be closed, whereby the anti-pinch protection remains automatically activated, i.e. when the door is opened again, the anti-pinch device 1 would tilt towards the door opening again as described, so that part of the anti-pinch area 5 would protrude beyond the door leaf and prevent the door from closing without the door handle being fully pressed down. This is seen as the particular advantage of the anti-pinch device according to the invention, since it reactivates itself after each use simply by closing the door, without the need for any additional manual action, which in practice could often be forgotten.

[0027] The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the claims and in the figures may be essential both individually and in any combination for the realization of the invention in its various embodiments. QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
