Description

[0001] The invention relates to a pressing tool and a method for producing a pressing tool.

[0002] Press tools, such as press plates, endless belts, or embossing rollers, are used in the woodworking industry, for example, to produce workpieces such as furniture, laminates, or panels. The workpieces are pressed with the pressing surface of the press tool, resulting in surfaces that match the pressing surface.

[0003] WO 2009 / 062488 A2 discloses a press plate with a structured pressing surface. The structured pressing surface comprises a mountain-like surface with valleys and peaks. The structured pressing surface is produced by deep etching and includes a full-surface chromium layer, which adheres to the material plate during pressing.

[0004] WO 03 / 016034 A1 discloses another press plate with a structured pressing surface. To reduce wear on the press plate, the structured pressing surface is coated with a carbon coating with diamond-like layers and a surface hardness of over 1800 HV according to the Vickers scale.

[0005] WO 2008 / 120058 A1 discloses a pressing tool whose pressing surface is formed by a layer consisting of a metal matrix with mineral or ceramic particles embedded therein.

[0006] WO 2017 / 081008 A1 discloses a polyetheretherketone press sheet having a structured press surface with varying degrees of gloss. The polyetheretherketone is enriched with at least 10 to 50% carbon fiber, graphite powder, or a thermally conductive material.

[0007] DE10124710 A1 describes a method for producing press laminates in a double-belt press, in which at least one surface of a material web is provided with an embossed structure between circulating endless belts by passing a surface-structured embossed belt through the press with the material web. This embossed belt has a surface structure produced by roll embossing.

[0008] US 2011 / 052905 A1 describes a process for manufacturing laminated articles by coating or plating the press surfaces with a hard coating impregnated with a fluoropolymer. Typical coatings that can be used with the fluoropolymer are nickel, chromium, combinations thereof, and alloys thereof.

[0009] DE 20 2010 004448 U1 describes a tabletting punch for compressing powdered or granular substances into a tablet, comprising a pressing head with a pressing surface, wherein at least part of the pressing surface is coated with a plastic coating consisting of a non-elastomeric plastic matrix and a hard material particle filling embedded in the plastic matrix.

[0010] EP 2 119 550 A1 describes a molding film containing a base material, on which at least one ink layer is provided, and a surface molding layer formed on the ink layer, in contact with the ink layer, and covering the entire surface. The surface molding layer is a layer obtained by crosslinking and curing a curable resin composition, and the surface of the surface molding layer has a convex shape and also a concave pattern. EP 2 119 550 A1 discloses a pressing tool according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0011] The object of the invention is to provide an improved pressing tool with a pressing surface.

[0012] The object of the invention is achieved by a pressing tool with the features of claim 1.

[0013] A further aspect of the invention relates to a method for producing the pressing tool according to the invention, comprising coating the basic structure with the lacquer or plastic layer with the addition of the mineral particles, e.g. in the form of a mineral powder.

[0014] The pressing tool according to the invention is, for example, an endless belt, an embossing roller, or preferably a pressing plate, and comprises the pressing surface. The pressing surface can be smooth or, preferably, comprise a structure of elevations and depressions, i.e., a structured pressing surface. This gives the workpiece a structured surface corresponding to the structure of the pressing surface.

[0015] The workpiece is, for example, a material board. This comprises a substrate, such as an MDF board or a particle board, which is pressed with a resin- or plastic-coated or impregnated substrate, such as paper, using the pressing tool. The material board can also be a so-called luxury vinyl tile (LVT).

[0016] The pressing tool comprises the base structure made of metal, particularly steel. If the pressing surface has the structure, the base structure is structured accordingly. The structured base structure can be produced, for example, by applying masks and etching, as is familiar to those skilled in the art.

[0017] During workpiece production, the pressing surface is in contact with the workpiece and is therefore subject to wear. To reduce wear, the pressing surface should be relatively wear-resistant, which is why conventional pressing tools are coated with at least one hard chrome layer forming the pressing surfaces. However, the pressing tool according to the invention comprises the paint or plastic layer in which the mineral particles are embedded. Due to the embedded mineral particles, the wear resistance of the paint or plastic layer is significantly increased.

[0018] The mineral particles are formed, for example, as mineral powder.

[0019] By using a lacquer or plastic layer with embedded mineral particles, a chrome layer, the production of which is relatively environmentally unfriendly, can be omitted. This makes the production of the press tool according to the invention relatively environmentally friendly.

[0020] When the pressing tool is used to produce the workpieces, the pressing surface and thus the paint or plastic layer with embedded mineral particles wear away. A worn pressing tool according to the invention can be relatively easily reconditioned, as it may be possible to relatively easily remove the worn paint or plastic layer with embedded mineral particles and replace it with a new paint or plastic layer with embedded mineral particles.

[0021] Minerals are mostly inorganic, homogeneous, and mostly crystallized substances found primarily in the Earth's crust. The majority of minerals known today and recognized as independent minerals by the International Mineralogical Association are inorganic.

[0022] The mineral particles of the paint or plastic layer in particular have a Mohs hardness of at least 8.

[0023] According to one embodiment of the pressing tool according to the invention, the mineral particles have a size in the nanometer or micrometer range. This allows the mineral particles to be embedded relatively homogeneously in the paint or plastic layer, giving it a relatively uniform hardness across its entire surface. The sizes of the individual mineral particles can be different or essentially the same.

[0024] The mineral particles preferably have a volume fraction of at least 50% relative to the volume of the paint or plastic layer with embedded mineral particles. The desired degree of hardness of the paint or plastic layer with embedded mineral particles can be adjusted based on the size, volume fraction, and type of minerals in the mineral particles.

[0025] The mineral particles are, in particular, diamond particles. The diamond particles are, in particular, industrial diamond particles, meaning that diamond particles, or mineral particles in general, can be artificially produced. However, the minerals silicon carbide, boron nitride, boron carbide, aluminum oxide, and titanium oxide, in particular, can also be used as mineral particles.

[0026] The mineral particles are formed, for example, as mineral powder, in particular as diamond powder and preferably as industrial diamond powder.

[0027] The plastic layer preferably comprises polyetheretherketone or consists of polyetheretherketone.

[0028] The pressing surface preferably comprises the structure of elevations and depressions so that the basic structure is structured according to the structure of the pressing surface.

[0029] The base structure, in particular the structured base structure, can be treated before arranging or coating the base structure with the lacquer or plastic layer, so that the lacquer or plastic layer preferably adheres better to the base structure. This treatment can be a mechanical treatment of the base structure, due to which, for example, the surface of the base structure is roughened so that the lacquer or plastic layer adheres better to the base structure. The treatment of the base structure can comprise a galvanic and / or chemical treatment of the base structure and / or the treatment of the base structure with a laser. As a result of the treatment of the base structure, the structure of the base structure can be refined, for example.

[0030] According to the pressing tool according to the invention, the lacquer or plastic layer with the embedded mineral particles is a partial lacquer or plastic layer with the mineral particles embedded therein, which is arranged only in predetermined areas. Wear of the pressing tool or its pressing surface is particularly pronounced in the areas of the elevations, at least in the area of certain elevations. According to the invention, the lacquer or plastic layer with the embedded mineral particles is therefore a partial lacquer or plastic layer with the mineral particles embedded therein, which are arranged on the base structure only in predetermined areas that are assigned to the elevations or predetermined elevations of the pressing surface.

[0031] The production of this variant of the pressing tool preferably comprises a partial coating of the basic structure with the lacquer or plastic layer with the addition of the mineral particles.

[0032] This variant of the pressing tool can be produced in particular depending on the image data associated with the structure of the pressing surface, ie the production of this variant of the pressing tool preferably comprises a partial coating of the basic structure with the lacquer or plastic layer with the addition of the mineral particles depending on the image data associated with the structure of the pressing surface.

[0033] The pressing surface is, in particular, associated with a natural material, such as wood or stone. To obtain the structure of the pressing surface, it may be provided that a template, e.g., a piece of wood or stone, is scanned to obtain image data. This image data includes, in particular, information about the structure the pressing surface is intended to have.

[0034] The image data obtained by scanning can, for example, be manually processed to obtain the image data associated with the structure of the press surface.

[0035] According to one embodiment of the pressing tool according to the invention, it comprises a further lacquer or plastic layer formed as a full-surface lacquer or plastic layer. The lacquer or plastic layer with the embedded mineral particles is then preferably a partial lacquer or plastic layer with the embedded mineral particles, with the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer being arranged between the base structure and the partial lacquer or plastic layer. In particular, the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer is arranged directly on the base structure, and the partial lacquer or plastic layer is arranged directly on the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer.Preferably, the partial lacquer or plastic layer with the mineral particles embedded therein is arranged on the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer only in predetermined areas, which are preferably associated with the elevations or predetermined elevations of the pressing surface.

[0036] The partial lacquer or plastic layer and the areas of the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer that are free from the partial lacquer or plastic layer form, in particular, the pressing surface.

[0037] The production of this variant of the pressing tool preferably comprises a full-surface coating of the basic structure with the further or the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer, in particular with the addition of further mineral particles, and a partial coating of the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer with the partial lacquer or plastic layer with the addition of the mineral particles.

[0038] Partial coating is preferably carried out depending on the image data associated with the structure of the press surface.

[0039] The full-surface paint or plastic layer and the partial paint and plastic layer each have different gloss levels. These two gloss levels are preferably different, so that the surface of the workpiece produced with the press tool also has areas of different gloss levels.

[0040] The different gloss levels of the paint or plastic layers can be achieved, for example, by hardening the paint or plastic layers, e.g. by UV irradiation, electron beam or laser hardening, or by exposure to different temperatures.

[0041] To further increase the wear resistance of the pressing surface, according to a further embodiment of the pressing tool according to the invention, additional mineral particles are embedded in the additional or full-surface lacquer or plastic layer. The production of this variant of the pressing tool preferably comprises a full-surface coating of the base structure with the additional lacquer or plastic layer with the addition of additional mineral particles.

[0042] The mineral particles and the other mineral particles may have the same size, the same volume fraction relative to the volume of their layer and / or the same type of mineral.

[0043] The additional mineral particles are, in particular, diamond particles, preferably industrial diamonds. However, the minerals silicon carbide, boron nitride, boron carbide, aluminum oxide, and titanium oxide can also be used as mineral particles. The additional mineral particles or diamond particles are, in particular, formed as an additional mineral or diamond powder.

[0044] As already mentioned, the lacquer or plastic layer wears away over time. In order to make this wear visible in a relatively simple manner, according to a variant of the pressing tool according to the invention, the tool comprises an indicator layer which is arranged beneath the lacquer or plastic layer or beneath the further lacquer or plastic layer. The indicator layer is intended to indicate wear of the lacquer or plastic layer arranged on the indicator layer, and in particular also wear of the pressing surface. Therefore, the indicator layer has a different optical property than the lacquer or plastic layer or the further lacquer or plastic layer. If the lacquer or plastic layer or the further lacquer or plastic layer is at least partially worn away to such an extent that it has been completely removed at least in some areas, the indicator layer is visible in these areas.Due to the different optical properties, this becomes particularly visible to the human eye, so that a person can relatively easily recognize when the pressing tool is too worn.

[0045] The production of this variant of the pressing tool preferably comprises arranging the indicator layer on the base structure, in particular coating the base structure with the indicator layer and coating the indicator layer with the lacquer or plastic layer or the further lacquer or plastic layer.

[0046] The base structure, in particular the structured base structure, can be treated before arranging or coating the base structure with the indicator layer, so that the indicator layer preferably adheres better to the base structure. This treatment can be a mechanical treatment of the base structure, due to which, for example, the surface of the base structure is roughened, so that the indicator layer adheres better to the base structure. The treatment of the base structure can comprise a galvanic and / or chemical treatment of the base structure and / or the treatment of the base structure with a laser. As a result of the treatment of the base structure, the structure of the base structure can, for example, be refined.

[0047] The indicator layer is, for example, a paint indicator layer whose optical properties differ from those of the paint or plastic layer or the additional paint or plastic layer. The optical properties are, for example, color and / or fluorescence.

[0048] According to one embodiment, particles having optical properties are embedded in the indicator layer, so that the indicator layer has a corresponding optical property that differs from the optical property of the lacquer or plastic layer or the further lacquer or plastic layer.

[0049] The optical properties of the indicator layer in this variant are achieved by means of the particles embedded within it. The optical properties are, for example, color or fluorescence. The particles of the indicator layer are therefore, for example, color particles, so that the indicator layer has a corresponding color, and / or fluorescent particles, so that the indicator layer has fluorescent properties. The particles of the indicator layer can also be mineral particles, in particular mineral color particles or diamond color particles, preferably industrial diamond color particles.

[0050] The particles of the indicator layer are in particular in the micro- or nanometer range.

[0051] The production of this variant of the pressing tool comprises, for example, arranging the indicator layer on the base structure, in particular coating the base structure with the indicator layer, in particular with the addition of the particles, and coating the indicator layer with the lacquer or plastic layer with the addition of the mineral particles.

[0052] The production of this variant of the pressing tool comprises in particular an arrangement of the indicator layer on the basic structure, in particular a coating of the basic structure with the indicator layer, in particular with the addition of the particles, a full-surface coating of the indicator layer with the further lacquer or plastic layer, in particular with the addition of the further mineral particles, and a partial coating of the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer with the partial lacquer or plastic layer, with the addition of the mineral particles, in particular depending on the image data assigned to the structure of the pressing surface.

[0053] The indicator layer can be made of metal or plastic, for example, or a lacquer indicator layer. In particular, the metal version with embedded particles results in a relatively durable pressing tool. The metal indicator layer can be applied to the base structure, for example, using a galvanic or chemical process. The metal of this indicator layer is preferably chromium-free, particularly nickel or copper, which allows the pressing tool according to the invention to be manufactured in a relatively environmentally friendly manner.

[0054] Coating with the lacquer or plastic layer or with the further lacquer or plastic layer or with the indicator layer can be, for example, painting, printing, in particular by means of digital printing, or powder coating.

[0055] The pressing surface, i.e. the lacquer or plastic layer or the further lacquer or plastic layer, can also be finally processed with a laser.

[0056] Embodiments of the invention are illustrated by way of example in the accompanying schematic figures. They show: Fig. 1 shows a press plate with a pressing surface in a perspective view, Fig. 2 shows a section of a side view of a first embodiment of the press plate in a sectional view, and Fig. 3 shows a section of a side view of a second embodiment of the press plate in a sectional view.

[0057] The Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a press plate 1 with a pressing surface 2 as an example of a pressing tool.

The pressing surface 2 is assigned, for example, a wood grain.

[0060] The basic structure 10 is preferably made of steel and was produced, for example, by deep etching.

[0061] Using the press plate 1, a workpiece, e.g., a material plate, such as a laminate, can be produced by pressing. After pressing, the workpiece has a surface structured according to the structure of the press surface 2.

[0062] In the case of the Fig. 2 In the first embodiment shown, the press plate 1 comprises a lacquer or plastic layer 11 arranged on the base structure 10, in which mineral particles 12 are embedded. The lacquer or plastic layer 11 can be a partial or full-surface lacquer or plastic layer.

[0063] The mineral particles 12 are, in particular, diamond particles and have a size in the nanometer or micrometer range. The sizes of the individual mineral particles 12 can be different or essentially the same.

[0064] The mineral particles 12 preferably have a volume fraction of at least 50% based on the volume of the paint or plastic layer 11 with mineral particles 12 embedded therein.

[0065] If the lacquer or plastic layer 11 is a plastic layer, then it preferably comprises polyetheretherketone or consists of polyetheretherketone.

[0069] The production of the press plate 1 according to the first embodiment preferably comprises coating the base structure 10 with the indicator layer 13 and subsequently coating the indicator layer 13 with the lacquer or plastic layer 11. In the case of the first embodiment, the indicator layer 13 is a colored lacquer layer which may be fluorescent.

[0070] If the lacquer or plastic layer 11 is a partial lacquer or plastic layer, then it is arranged in particular only in areas that are assigned to the elevations 4 or certain elevations 4 of the pressing surface 2, directly on the basic structure 10 or directly on the indicator layer 13, e.g. by coating.

[0071] The base structure 10 can be treated before coating the base structure 10 with the indicator layer 13, so that, for example, the indicator layer 13 adheres better to the base structure 10. This treatment can include a mechanical treatment and / or a galvanic and / or chemical treatment of the base structure 10 and / or treating the base structure 10 with a laser.

[0072] In the case of the Fig. 3 shown second embodiment of the press plate 1, this comprises a partial lacquer or plastic layer 31 in which mineral particles 32 are embedded.

[0073] The mineral particles 32 are, in particular, diamond particles and have a size in the nanometer or micrometer range. The sizes of the individual mineral particles 32 can be different or essentially the same.

[0074] The mineral particles 32 preferably have a volume fraction of at least 50% based on the volume of the partial lacquer or plastic layer 31 with mineral particles 32 embedded therein.

[0075] If the partial lacquer or plastic layer 31 is a plastic layer, then it preferably comprises polyetheretherketone or consists of polyetheretherketone.

[0076] The press plate 1 of the second embodiment comprises a further lacquer or plastic layer, which is designed as a full-surface lacquer or plastic layer 35. In the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer 35, as shown in the Fig. 3 As shown, further mineral particles 36 may be embedded. [0083] The image data obtained by scanning can, for example, be manually processed to obtain the image data associated with the structure of the press surface 2.

[0084] The press plate 1 of the second embodiment was produced, for example, by adding the particles 34 and applying the indicator layer 33 to the base structure 10 using a chemical or galvanic process.

[0085] Subsequently, the indicator layer 33 was coated with the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer 35 with the addition of the additional mineral particles 36. This coating also includes, in particular, curing the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer 35, for example, by UV irradiation, or by electron beam or laser curing.

[0086] Subsequently, the full-surface lacquer or plastic layer 35 was coated with the partial lacquer or plastic layer 31, with the addition of the mineral particles 32 depending on the image data associated with the structure of the press surface 1.
