Description

[0001] The invention relates to a sanitary hose shower according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] The hose shower accordingly comprises a shower body with a hollow cylindrical, elongated housing that functions as a handle, a fluid guide body accommodated in the housing, and a hose positioned upstream of the shower body in the direction of fluid flow. The hose, with a fluid outlet-side end region, is guided through a hose connection opening in the housing into the housing and is fluidly coupled to the fluid guide body. Furthermore, the hose shower includes a release lock that prevents the hose from moving out of the housing against the direction of fluid flow.

[0003] Such a hose shower can be used, for example, in shower heads or hand showers, as well as kitchen showers. The hose shower can, in particular, be a sanitary hand shower, e.g., in the form of pull-out hose devices, such as those commonly found as pull-out shower heads on kitchen sinks and other vanities, and as pull-out hand showers on bathtubs.

[0004] In shower heads of this and similar types, the shower body housing serves as a user interface that can be grasped by the user with one hand. The user can remove and / or pull the shower body and hose from a stationary, remaining part of the device, e.g., from a shower head holder or from an outlet pipe of a spout fitting housing mounted on or near a kitchen sink or vanity unit, or directly from the edge of a washbasin or sink, or similar.

[0005] It is generally desirable for the surface of the shower head or handle to have a pleasant feel, with no or very few edges, gaps, or separations between components. A one-piece housing design with its elongated, hollow cylinder shape can contribute to this. This not only has a positive effect on the feel, but also minimizes the accumulation of dirt and germs, particularly on the surface of the shower head or the handle area of the housing. A further difficulty with conventional hose showers, and especially handheld showers such as pull-out hose showers, is that they often have many components inside the shower head, which can create cavities in which dirt can accumulate.

[0006] On the outlet side, the shower head releases a fluid, typically water, supplied via the hose in the desired manner. The fluid outlet characteristics can be influenced in a desired manner, for example, by a fluid outlet element provided there. The fluid outlet element can, for example, comprise a conventional jet regulator element, flow limiter element, aerator element, and / or sieve element. It can also comprise a user-operated valve element, for example to release the fluid as a shower jet with switchable multiple jet types. The fluid guide body is coupled to the hose directly or, with the interposition of a suitable coupling element, indirectly.

[0007] A sanitary hose shower of the type mentioned above is disclosed in utility model DE 20 2022 101 669 U1 in the form of a pull-out hose shower. The release lock, which secures the hose against moving out of the shower head housing against the direction of fluid flow, is implemented by the hose bearing against an inner annular shoulder of the housing with an outer annular flange of a connection nipple of the hose. The fluid guide body bears against another annular shoulder of the housing against the direction of fluid flow and is held in the direction of fluid flow by a fluid outlet element fixed to the housing on the fluid outlet side. This requires that the hose and connection nipple be threaded through the housing with the end facing away from the fluid outlet, against the direction of fluid flow, until the nipple's outer ring flange is in positive contact with the inner ring shoulder of the housing. Before or after this, the fluid guide body is plugged or coupled to the hose connection nipple. Finally, the fluid outlet element is secured to the housing.

[0008] The invention is based on the technical problem of providing a sanitary hose shower of the type mentioned at the outset, which offers advantages over the above-mentioned prior art, in particular with regard to its construction and its manufacturing / assembly effort.

[0009] The invention solves this problem by providing a sanitary hose shower with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims, the wording of which is hereby incorporated by reference into the description. This includes, in particular, all embodiments of the invention resulting from the combinations of features defined by the references in the subclaims.

[0010] In the sanitary hose shower according to the invention, the hose and the shower body are configured to pass the fluid outlet-side end portion of the hose through the hose connection opening of the housing. Furthermore, the release lock comprises a locking body, which is axially fixed radially onto the fluid outlet-side end portion of the hose and is passed through the hose connection opening of the housing, and a counter-locking means in the housing, with which the locking body interacts to form a locking connection that prevents axial movement counter to the direction of fluid flow.

[0011] The shower head according to the invention offers an easy-to-install, compact, and cost-effective solution for applications where, in addition to the feel, cleanliness and hygiene, and the simplest possible installation are important. The surface or exterior of the spout body can be realized with comparatively few edges and gaps, whereby the handle area can preferably be designed entirely without such edges and gaps, and moreover, the shower head can be realized with a relatively small number of components. In addition to reducing the formation of dirt and germs on the shower head, this also enables it to be easily cleaned. In addition, the interior of the shower head can be designed so that there are also few edges and gaps or component separations, as well as few cavities.

[0012] Since the hose and shower head are designed to pass the fluid outlet end of the hose through the hose connection opening of the housing, the hose can be inserted directly into the housing from this fluid inlet opening with its fluid outlet end facing the fluid flow direction, eliminating the need to thread its fluid outlet end through the housing against the fluid flow direction. This contributes to minimal assembly effort.

[0013] The special design of the release lock makes it advantageously easy to secure the hose inserted into the housing at its fluid outlet end against movement out of the housing against the direction of fluid flow. This also keeps assembly effort comparatively low. All that is required is for the locking element to be placed on the hose and passed through the hose connection opening of the housing, where it engages with the movement limiting stop on the fluid guide element or on the housing. When assembled, the locking element is preferably completely or largely invisible within the housing, i.e., concealed by the housing.

[0014] The hose shower according to the invention can, if desired, be realized in such a way that no screw connections are required to hold the fluid guide body and the fluid outlet-side end region of the hose fixed in the housing of the shower body.

[0015] The aforementioned characteristics of the hose shower according to the invention also provide the prerequisite for optionally disassembling the hose from the shower head with relatively little disassembly effort. To do this, the locking connection of the release lock only needs to be designed to be detachable. Releasing the locking connection then removes the locking of the hose against its movement out of the housing against the direction of fluid flow, allowing the hose to be pulled out of the shower head housing with its fluid outlet-side end section.

[0016] In a further development of the invention, the locking body has a radially elastically projecting locking tongue, and the counter-locking means has an axial movement limiting stop for the locking tongue on the fluid guide body or on the housing. This represents a functionally reliable implementation for these locking connection elements that can be manufactured with relatively little effort. Alternatively, the locking body and the counter-locking means can be implemented in another, conventional manner, e.g., as a radially elastically movable locking pin and a corresponding pin receptacle.

[0017] In one embodiment of the invention, the locking body comprises a locking sleeve part that surrounds the hose at least partially around its circumference and on which the locking tongue is formed. Because the locking sleeve part surrounds the hose at least over part of its circumference, it can be stably supported or guided by the hose. In alternative embodiments, the locking body can be designed in a different, conventional manner, e.g., as a locking web element extending axially along the outside of the hose.

[0018] In a further embodiment of the invention, the locking sleeve part surrounds the hose by at least one-third and at most two-thirds, and the locking body has a further sleeve part that surrounds the hose circumferentially in a circumferential section left free by the locking sleeve part. This dimensioning of the locking sleeve part proves advantageous from a stability and assembly perspective, in that the locking sleeve part surrounds the hose circumferentially sufficiently, which contributes to the stable support and guidance of the locking sleeve part on the hose, and on the other hand, surrounds only sufficiently far that the locking sleeve part can be simply placed or clipped onto the outside of the hose in a radial direction and does not necessarily need to be pushed onto the hose from the hose end.The additional sleeve part contributes to stabilization and centering by surrounding the hose in at least part of the hose circumference section left free by the locking sleeve part. In alternative designs, the locking sleeve part surrounds the hose, for example, only over less than one-third of the hose circumference or over more than two-thirds of the hose circumference, including the possibility of the locking sleeve part being implemented as a circumferentially closed sleeve part that is pushed axially onto the hose.

[0019] In a further development of the invention, the counter-locking means has a locking opening or a locking groove on a sleeve section of the fluid guide body on the hose inlet side. This represents a functionally reliable and easily manufactured implementation for the counter-locking means, especially when, as in this case, the fluid guide body has a sleeve section on the hose inlet side, i.e., a sleeve section that serves as an inlet for inserting the fluid outlet-side end region of the hose. In alternative embodiments, the counter-locking means is implemented differently, e.g., by a locking opening or locking groove on the shower body housing.

[0020] In a further development of the invention, the housing has a release opening through which a release tool for releasing the locking connection between the locking body and the counter-locking means can be inserted. This further development of the invention therefore comprises a detachable implementation of the locking connection, wherein the locking connection can be released very easily by the user inserting the release tool through the release opening provided for this purpose on the housing. In alternative embodiments, the locking connection is designed to be detachable in a different, conventional manner or is non-detachable, i.e., cannot be released without causing damage.

[0021] In one embodiment of the invention, the release tool comprises a release pin with a pin end region that can be inserted into the release opening, or a release clip that can be placed against the housing on part of its circumference and has a release mandrel that can be inserted into the release opening. The release pin is a very easy-to-provide release tool. The variant with the release clip as the release tool has the advantage that the release tool can be guided in a stabilizing manner on the shower body housing for the release or unlocking movement by the release clip being in contact with the corresponding section of the circumference of the shower body housing. It is understood that in alternative embodiments, another suitable, conventional release tool can be provided, tailored to the implementation of the locking connection, such as a screwdriver, a bent-up paper clip or a similar household, pen-like object.

[0022] In another embodiment of the invention, the shower head has a push-button operating element held on the housing and / or on the fluid guide body and positioned in a recess in the housing, and the release opening adjoins the recess. This advantageously combines the presence of the push-button operating element on the shower head with the measure of providing the release opening for inserting the release tool on the shower head housing. By having the release opening adjoin the recess for the push-button operating element, these two components can be manufactured contiguously and / or contribute to a favorable appearance of the shower head by avoiding the need for two spatially distinct openings in the shower head housing due to the release opening and the recess.

[0023] In a further development of the invention, the fluid guide body is held in the housing by a stop device preventing axial movement counter to the fluid flow direction and by a locking connection preventing axial movement in the fluid flow direction. This measure allows the fluid guide body to be held in the shower body housing in an advantageously simple manner. In particular, no screw connections are required for this purpose. It is understood that in alternative embodiments, the fluid guide body can be held in the shower body housing using one or more other conventional connections, e.g., by means of one or more screw connections.

[0024] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings. These and other embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below. In the drawings: Fig. 1 a perspective exploded view of a hose shower with shower body, hose, release lock and pin-shaped release tool, Fig. 2 a detailed view of Fig. 1 with partially cut shower head, Fig. 3 a half longitudinally cut side view of the shower head with inserted hose, Fig. 4 a perspective view of a variant of the hose shower of Fig. 1 with clamp-shaped release tool and Fig. 5 the view of Fig. 3 for the variant of Fig. 4 with attached release tool.

[0025] As illustrated in the figures using two exemplary embodiments, the hose shower according to the invention, also referred to as a shower for short, comprises a shower body 1 with a hollow cylindrical, elongated housing 2 functioning as a handle and a fluid guide body 3 received in the housing 2. Furthermore, the shower comprises a hose 4 which is arranged upstream of the shower body 1 in a flow direction (FR) of the fluid to be dispensed by the shower, preferably water, i.e. is located upstream thereof, and serves to supply the fluid to the shower body. The hose 4 is guided with a fluid outlet-side end region 4a through a hose connection opening 5 of the housing 2 into the housing 2 and is fluidically coupled to the fluid guide body 3, i.e. is connected to it in such a way that the fluid passes from the hose 4 into the shower body in order to be able to be dispensed from the latter as a shower jet.Furthermore, the hose shower according to the invention includes a release lock 6 which secures the hose 4 against moving out of the housing 2 against the fluid flow direction FR.

[0026] The hose 4 and the shower body 1 are designed to pass the fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4 through the hose connection opening 5 of the housing 2. This means that the hose 4, in particular in its fluid outlet-side end region 4a, and the hose connection opening 5 on the housing 2 are dimensioned to match one another such that the hose 4 can be inserted with its fluid outlet-side end region 4a into the hose connection opening 5 in the fluid flow direction FR or can be inserted through the hose connection opening 5 into the housing 2.

[0027] The release lock 6 comprises, on the one hand, a locking body 7 which is axially fixed and radially placed on the fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4 and is guided with it through the hose connection opening 5 of the housing 2, and, on the other hand, a counter-locking means 8 in the housing 2, with which the locking body 7 cooperates to form a locking connection 9 securing against axial movement against the fluid flow direction FR, as shown in particular in the Fig. 3 and 5 shown.

[0028] In advantageous embodiments, the locking body 7, as in the examples shown, includes a radially elastically projecting locking tongue 7a, and the counter-locking means 8 includes an axial movement limiting stop 8a for the locking tongue 7a on the fluid guide body 3, as in the examples shown, or on the housing 2.

[0029] In corresponding implementations, the locking body 7, as in the examples shown, has a locking sleeve part 7b which surrounds the hose 4 at least partially on the circumference and on which the locking tongue 7a is formed. In preferred embodiments, the locking sleeve part 7b surrounds the hose 4 at least one-third and at most two-thirds, and the locking body 7 is designed in several parts by including a further sleeve part 7c which surrounds the hose 4 on the circumference in a circumferential section left free by the locking sleeve part 7b. This is the case in the examples shown, wherein in these cases the locking sleeve part 7b and the further sleeve part 7c each surround the hose 4, more precisely the fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4, on the circumference by approximately half, i.e. the locking sleeve part 7b and the further sleeve part 7c each form a sleeve half-shell.The locking sleeve part 7b and the further sleeve part 7c are optionally held together by form-fitting against axial relative movement, e.g. by, as in . Fig. 2 As can be seen, projections projecting in the circumferential direction on one of the two parts 7b, 7c engage in corresponding recesses on the other part.

[0030] In corresponding implementations, the counter-locking means 8 includes a locking opening 10, as in the examples shown, or a locking groove on a sleeve section 3a of the fluid guide body 3 on the hose inlet side. The axial movement limiting stop 8a of the counter-locking means 8 for the locking tongue 7a is in this case formed by the edge of the locking opening 10 on its upstream side, ie opposite to the fluid flow direction FR.

[0031] In advantageous embodiments, the shower body housing 2, as in the examples shown, has a release opening 12 through which a release tool 11 can be inserted to release the locking connection 9 between the locking body 5 and the counter-locking means 8. In the examples shown, the locking connection 9 is released by radially pressing in the locking tongue 7a using the release tool 11 inserted through the release opening 12.

[0032] In corresponding implementations, the release tool 11 comprises, as in the embodiment of the Figures 1 and 2 , a release pin 11a with a pin end portion 13 insertable into the release opening 12. In an alternative embodiment, the release tool 11 includes, as in the embodiment of the Figures 3 and 4, a release clamp 11b, which can be placed against the shower body housing 2 along part of its circumference and has a release pin 14 that can be inserted into the release opening 12. In the example shown, the release clamp 11b is semi-circular and thus rests against the shower body housing 2 around approximately half the circumference thereof. This placement against the shower body housing 2 enables guidance and corresponding stabilization of the handling of this release tool 11 by the user for releasing the locking connection 9.

[0033] In corresponding embodiments, the shower body 1, as in the examples shown, includes a push-button operating element 16 held on the housing 2 and / or on the fluid guide body 3, which is positioned in a recess 2a of the housing 2. With the operating element 16, a fluid control valve, e.g. a shut-off valve, arranged in the shower body housing 2 can be actuated by the user in a manner known per se and therefore not further explained here. The release opening 12 for inserting the release tool 11 adjoins the recess 2a in the shower body housing 2 for the operating element 16, i.e. the recess 2a and the release opening 12 form a single, common opening or perforation of the housing 2. The release opening 12 adjoins the upper, i.e.The release clamp 11b is provided with a recess 19 for the operating element 16, which is located opposite to the fluid flow direction FR, of the recess 2a for the operating element 16, which extends elongatedly parallel to the fluid flow direction FR, so that the release tool 11 can be inserted into the release opening 12 directly above the operating element 16. The release opening 12 is thus visually inconspicuously integrated into the appearance of the operating element 16 and the associated housing recess 2a. In the variant with the release clamp 11b as the release tool 11, the release clamp 11b is provided with a recess 19 in order to be able to place the release clamp 11b radially against the shower body housing 2 without being hindered by the operating element 16 and thus to be able to insert the release pin 14 into the release opening 12.

[0034] In advantageous embodiments, the fluid guide body 5, as in the examples shown, is held in the housing 2 by a stop lock 17 against axial movement counter to the fluid flow direction FR and by a locking connection 18 against axial movement in the fluid flow direction FR. This enables the fluid guide body 3 to be held in the shower body housing 2 in a locking or snap-in manner on both sides against axial movement. In the examples shown, the stop lock 17 is formed in that the hollow cylindrical fluid guide body 5 rests with a front end 17b of its sleeve section 3a on the hose inlet side, which is located counter to the fluid flow direction FR, against an inner annular shoulder or a radially inwardly projecting annular flange 17a of the housing 2, as can be seen from the Figures 3 and 5The locking connection 18, which secures against axial movement of the fluid guide body 5 in the fluid flow direction FR, is formed in that the fluid guide body 3 is provided on its outer circumference with a radially outwardly projecting, elastically yielding locking arm 18a, which bears against an inner stop shoulder or a radially inwardly projecting stop flange 18b of the shower body housing 2.

[0035] The fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4 can, as in the examples shown, be provided with a hose connection nipple 20 in a conventional manner. In the examples shown, the connection nipple 20 has a radially outwardly projecting annular flange 21, with which a respective annular groove 22, 23 on the locking sleeve part 7b and on the sleeve part 7c interact in a form-fitting manner, whereby the locking sleeve part 7b and the further sleeve part 7c can be pre-fixed or placed on the fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4, secured against axial movement.

[0036] To assemble the hose shower in the versions shown, the fluid guide body 3 is first pushed into the housing 2 against the fluid flow direction FR through an opening 24 on the fluid outlet side of the hollow cylindrical shower body housing 2 until the front end 17b of the fluid guide body 5 comes to rest against the stop flange 17a of the housing 2 and the locking arm 18a, which is initially pressed radially elastically inwards, springs back radially outwards and rests against the stop shoulder 18b of the housing 2. As a result, the fluid guide body 5 is held axially secured in the housing 2. In addition, it is guided in the radial direction with its outer side on the inside of the housing 2 and is held largely free of play.

[0037] Subsequently, the locking sleeve part 7b and the further sleeve part 7c are placed radially from the outside onto the fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4 and inserted together with it in the fluid flow direction FR through the hose connection opening 5 into the shower body housing 2, in this case specifically into the hose inlet-side sleeve section 3a of the fluid guide body 3, whereby the hose 4 with its fluid outlet-side end region 4a is fluidically coupled to the fluid guide body 3. In this case, the locking body 7 and the counter-locking means 8 engage to form the locking connection 9, i.e. the release lock 6 enters its secured state, in which it secures the hose 4 with its fluid outlet-side end region 4a against moving out of the shower body housing 2 and thus also out of the fluid guide body 3 located there.

[0038] Advantageously, the components of the shower head are assembled using only snap-in connections, without the need for screw connections, for example. Another advantage is that only the shower head housing 2 and the hose 4 remain visible. The fluid guide body 3 and the release lock 6 are located entirely within the housing 2.

[0039] For disassembly, the user can use the release tool 11 and with it release the locking connection 9, i.e. bring the release lock into its unlocked state by inserting the release tool 11 into the release opening 12 and using it to press the locking tongue 7a on the locking sleeve part 7b radially inwards and thereby bring it out of engagement with the axial movement limiting stop 8a on the fluid guide body 3 in the housing 2. The hose 4 with its fluid outlet-side end region 4a together with the locking body 7 held thereon in a form-fitting manner so as to prevent axial movement, i.e. the locking sleeve part 7b and the further sleeve part 7c, can then be pulled axially out of the fluid guide body 3 and the shower body housing 2 against the fluid flow direction FR.

[0040] In a corresponding embodiment, the shower hose comprises a disengagement blocking device which secures or blocks the locking connection 9 against disengaging or releasing by means of the release tool 11 and must first be released before the locking connection 9 can be released by means of the release tool 11. The disengagement blocking device can, for example, comprise a blocking sleeve (not shown), which is pushed onto the hose 4 and, after the fluid outlet-side end region 4a of the hose 4 together with the locking body 7 has been inserted through the hose connection opening 5 into the shower body housing 2, is pushed axially into an annular space left for this purpose between the hose 4 and the locking body 7 up to at least the level of the locking tongue 7a. The blocking sleeve then blocks the disengagement movement of the locking tongue radially inwards. This annular space can, for example,be formed in a section that is located upstream of the annular flange 21 of the connection nipple 20, i.e. behind the annular flange 21 in the fluid flow direction FR, and optionally terminate with a radially outwardly projecting stop flange that acts as a limit stop for the axial advancement of the blocking sleeve. For disassembly, the user must therefore first push the blocking sleeve back axially until the locking tongue 7a is again exposed radially inwards and can be pressed radially inwards into the disengaged position by means of the release tool 11. For this purpose, it can be provided that the blocking sleeve remains accessible with an operating section outside the hose connection opening 5 and the user can pull the blocking sleeve back axially at its operating section by hand or with a tool.

[0041] During operation of the hose shower, the shower fluid is supplied to the shower body 1 via the hose 4 and dispensed from there at the fluid outlet opening 24. To shape the spray of the dispensed fluid, a corresponding jet shaping element 25 can be arranged there in the usual way, as shown in the Figures 3 and 5 illustrated, e.g. a jet regulator element or a perlator or sieve element.

[0042] As the embodiments shown and the other embodiments mentioned above make clear, the invention provides a sanitary hose shower which offers advantages over conventional hose showers, among other things, with regard to its structure, its functionality, its handling, its feel, its visual appearance, its manufacturing / assembly effort and / or with regard to hygiene and cleanliness aspects.

[0043] The sanitary hose shower can be used, for example, with shower heads or hand showers, and especially with kitchen shower heads. With these hose shower heads, the housing of the shower head serves as the user interface, which the user can grasp with one hand. The user can remove the shower head from a stationary holder and move it freely using the flexible hose and / or, in the case of a pull-out hose shower head, pull the hose out of a stationary hose holder.

[0044] It is understood that the hose shower can be used not only as a preferably extendable shower on kitchen sinks and other washbasins and as a preferably extendable hand shower on bathtubs, but also for other applications, e.g. in garden irrigation technology, where there is a need for a hose shower that is relatively easy to manufacture with just a few parts and can be assembled with little effort and whose housing of the shower body, which serves as a handle, can have a surface or outer side that is as smooth and homogeneous as possible with few or no edges and gaps, which can be advantageous in particular with regard to the feel, visual appearance and / or hygiene and cleanliness aspects.
