Angle converter adapter

Abstract

The invention relates to an angle converter adapter (1 and 2) designed to enhance the versatility of painting aids, such as extension poles (4) and brushes (3). Traditional extension poles, when directly attached to brushes or rollers, often maintain an incorrect angle relative to the painting surface. This angle converter adapter (1 and 2), positioned between the extension pole (4) and the painting tool (3), allows the angle to be adjusted from a straight position (1B) to 110 degrees in both directions, totaling a 220-degree range, and locks in place at approximately 18-degree intervals (1A and 1C). This adjustability ensures optimal paint coverage and application, whether painting high or low surfaces, thus improving work ergonomics and reducing the need for ladders or scaffolding. Constructed from plastic and metal, the adapter includes an upper part (1) with a specially sized taper for compatibility with common brushes (3) and rollers, and a lower part that accommodates either a taper (2) or universal screw (11) attachment for extension poles. The adapter components are connected via a purpose-designed j oint mechanism, allowing easy adjustment with a locking screw operable by hand. [0001] The invention pertains to a painting aid / tool. The traditional painting aid, an extension pole attached to a brush, is primarily intended for painting flat ceilings. The invention, namely the angle converter adapter, significantly extends the usability of this combination to a much wider range of painting needs and situations.Additional Information:

[0002] When using a traditional extension pole directly attached to a brush or roller, these tools often remain at an incorrect angle relative to the surface being painted. The angle adapter is placed between the extension pole and the brush or roller, allowing the angle to be adjusted to suit the surface being painted. (fig 1.) The angle of the adapter is adjustable from a straight (right-angle) position to 110 degrees in both directions, making a total range of 220 degrees. The angle locks at approximately 18-degree intervals. Paintbrush or roller can be aligned at adapter in many positions, allowing better movement at vertical or horizontal painting.

[0003] When painting higher areas, the use of the adapter reduces or eliminates the need to work from scaffolding or ladders. The adapter allows the brush to be positioned at the correct angle, ensuring paint coverage and application as if working from a ladder or scaffold. This is not possible with a straight extension pole alone.

[0006] The angle converter adapter is made of both plastic and metal. (fig 2.) Metal is used only in the locking screw (6). The upper part of the adapter (1) has a specially sized taper (9) attachment, which allows compatibility with the most common paint (3) brush and roller frames. The lower part of the adapter can accommodate two different types of extension pole attachment solutions: the first is a specially sized taper (2) attachment, and the second (Fig 3) is a universal screw (11) attachment. The parts are connected to each other with a purpose-designed (7) joint mechanism.

Claims

1. Known for comprising an upper (1) adapter and a lower (2 and 11) adapter, with a joint part (7) between them. The joint can be locked with a fastening device (6).

2. The angle converter adapter is known for being assembled from two parts, with the upper part (1) being a taper adapter (9) and the lower part allowing the selection of a suitable adapter from two options: a taper attachment (2) or a female screw (11).

3. Known for the shape and surface of the upper taper connector (9), designed to achieve wide compatibility.

4. Known for the joint part (7) being sized and designed for this specific use. The joint locking device (6) is designed to be operated with one hand's finger strength, without the need for tools for locking or unlocking.

5. Known for the lower part, option one (2), being sized to be compatible with various other commercial taper attachments via its internal taper connection surface (8).
