AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing heat exchange devices have limited exchange surface and thermal efficiency, with external radial ribs having a relatively small surface area, leading to inefficiencies and increased production costs.

Method used

A heat exchange device with a tubular body featuring internal and external ribs, where external ribs have a curvilinear profile with longitudinal fins on one face, increasing the exchange surface and thermal efficiency, and are produced through extrusion or casting for cost-effectiveness.

Benefits of technology

The device enhances heat exchange efficiency by up to 10-20% and reduces production costs through a more extensive exchange surface and simplified construction.

Abstract

A heat exchange device (10) comprises a tubular body (11) with a longitudinal central axis (H) adapted to define therein a heating chamber (4), a plurality of internal ribs (12) which extend from the tubular body (11) towards the central axis (H), a plurality of external ribs (13) which extend radially from the tubular body (11) towards the external. Each of the external ribs (13) has two opposite faces (13a, 13b) and it is provided with one or more longitudinal heat dissipating fins (14', 14"; 16', 16") all of which extend in the same direction from only one of the opposite faces (13a, 13b) from circumferentially aligned radial positions. A heater (1) for heating air and / or water comprises a combustion chamber (4), a jacket (6) arranged peripherally to the chamber (4), a first interspace (7) for the discharge of a combustion gas generated by the flame tube, a second interspace (8) for the heating of an air flow, an outer casing (2) adapted to define with said jacket (6), a third interspace (T) for the heating of water, wherein the heat exchange device (10) is of the type described above.
