Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Notched conditioning device
[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic product packaging device comprising a first part, the first part includes a neck, the neck comprising a given surface, the given surface having a thread.
[0002] Packaging device means any packaging which allows the sale, transport, protection and storage of the product it contains.
[0003] A cosmetic product is advantageously a product as defined in Regulation (EC) No 1223 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products.
[0004] The product contained in the device according to the invention is, for example, a makeup product, such as mascara, eyeliner or any other viscous cosmetic product.
[0005] The thread allows a second part to be secured to the first part by screwing.
[0006] It is known to produce mascara packaging and application devices with a raised area on the container at the base of the neck and a fin on the closure cap that can pass through the raised area by elastic deformation in order to generate a tactile and / or audible sensation, perceived by the consumer as confirming the closure of the container.
[0007] It turns out that the plastic material wears down and deforms plastically by undergoing a mating phenomenon as a result of the multiple successive openings of the container, so that the said sensation tends to decrease in intensity, or even to become imperceptible.
[0008] Document EP 2 253 554 Al proposes, instead, that one of the parts has an elastically deformable tab and the other part has a relief, the tab and the relief being arranged to cooperate in such a way that the rotation of the second part relative to the first causes the tab to cross the relief by flexing, with a flexing component parallel to the axis of rotation, this crossing being accompanied by the production of a tactile and / or audible sensation that can be felt by the user.
[0009] However, this requires that each of the two pieces have a particular shape, one with the paw and the other with the relief, so that this makes the production of the pieces more complex.
[0010] In addition, there is a risk of wear when bending the leg.
[0011] One object of the invention is therefore to obtain a cosmetic product packaging device offering a simple and solid sensory feedback of screwing to a user.
[0012] To this end, the invention relates to a conditioning device of the aforementioned type, in which the given surface is further provided with a radially projecting ramp, the ramp having a radial dimension increasing in a screwing direction of the thread up to one notch, the ramp being arranged on the given surface so that a surface interacting with the thread comes into contact with the ramp.
[0013] The progressive increase in the radial dimension of the ramp results in an increase in the tightening force. The user is thus informed of the progress of the tightening by this resistance. Furthermore, the ramp is suitable for interacting with a surface without additional raised features, such as a fin or a flexible tab. In addition, the ramp is not a deformable part, susceptible to permanent deformation. Finally, since the contact between the ramp and the surface interacting with the thread is radial, extending along a circumferential band, the contact area between these two elements is large, which prevents the parts from becoming worn over time. Finally, when the surface interacting with the thread comes into contact with the ramp, a localized elastic ovalization phenomenon occurs in the part with this surface; maintaining the deformation of the part with the surface within the elastic range improves the durability and reliability of the tactile sensation generated, which the consumer perceives as confirming the closure of the container.
[0014] The device according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following features, taken individually or in any technically possible combination:
[0015] - the neck has a distal end, the distal end of the neck being an end of the first piece, the thread being arranged between the ramp and the distal end of the neck;
[0016] This allows the hard point to be towards the end of the screwing.
[0017] - the given surface is an external surface of the neck;
[0018] Such a geometry is suitable for any bottle, such as gloss, foundation, mascara or eyeliner.
[0019] - the first part is a container suitable for holding a cosmetic product;
[0020] Screwing until the hard notch is passed allows, for example, the The container must be properly closed.
[0021] - the ramp has a reduction in radial dimension after the notch;
[0022] The sudden change in radial dimension after the notch results in a clicking sensation due to the variation in resistance, in particular due to the relaxation of the surface cooperating with the thread.
[0023] - the ramp is such that the crossing of the notch by a surface interacting with the threading results in a tactile production that can be felt by a user;
[0024] The clicking sensation informs the user of the progress of screwing.
[0025] - the conditioning device comprises a second part having a surface featuring an additional tapped hole designed to cooperate with the thread of the first part to allow closure of the conditioning device by screwing the second part onto the first part, the ramp being arranged so that the surface of the second part comes into contact with the ramp when screwing the second part onto the first part;
[0026] The second part closes the first part by screwing, the notch allowing sensory feedback to the user regarding the closure of the device.
[0027] - the second part comprises at least one axially projecting outgrowth of a linked end of the second piece, an inner surface of at least one protrusion being able to come into contact with the ramp when screwing the second piece onto the first piece;
[0028] At least one protrusion contributes to increasing the contact between the ramp and the second part and thus to providing sensory feedback to the user
[0029] - at least one protrusion is arranged such that at least one protrusion is the first part of the second part in contact with the ramp when the second part is screwed onto the first part; and / or
[0030] - the first part comprises at least one radially projecting stop downstream of the ramp, the protrusion extending against the stop in the closed position of the conditioning device.
[0031] The stop marks the closure of the device.

[0039] The packaging device 10 illustrated in figures 1 to 4 is, for example, intended to contain mascara, eyeliner or any other viscous cosmetic product.
[0040] The device 10 comprises a first part 12.
[0041] The first part 12 is, for example, a container suitable for holding the cosmetic product.
[0042] The first part delimits an internal volume for receiving the cosmetic product.
[0043] The device 10 further comprises a second part 14, for example an application member.
[0044] The first part 12 has a collar 16.
[0045] The collar 16 extends mainly around a principal axis A-A'.
[0046] The main axis A-A' extends along a main direction.
[0047] The collar 16 here delimits an access passage 18 to the interior volume.
[0048] The access passage 18 is intended to allow partial passage of the second part 14.
[0049] The neck 16 has a distal end 20 opposite the rest of the first piece 12.
[0050] The distal end 20 is an end of the first part along the main axis A-A'.
[0051] The access passage 18 is delimited at the distal end 20.
[0052] The collar 16 has a thread 22 on a given surface 24, more particularly on an external surface of the collar 16.
[0053] Each of the thread 22 and the given surface 24 extends around the main axis A-A'.
[0054] The thread 22 has a distal end 30 and a proximal end 32.
[0055] The distal end 30 is the end of the thread 22 closest to the distal end 20 of the neck 16.
[0056] The proximal end 32 is the end of the thread 22 closest to the interface between the neck 16 and the rest of the first part 12.
[0057] The thread 22 forms a helix around the axis A-A' between the distal end 30 and the proximal end 32 on the outer surface 24 of the neck 16.
[0058] The thread 22 has a screwing direction going from the distal end 30 to the proximal end 32.
[0059] The direction of screwing is represented by an arrow F in the figures.
[0060] The given surface 24, here the outer surface of the neck 16, is further provided with minus a 34 radially projecting ramp.
[0061] The ramp or each ramp 34 is arranged on the given surface 24 so that a surface having a tapping interacting with the thread 22 comes into contact with the ramp 34, more particularly at the end of the screwing of the tapped surface with the thread 22.
[0062] The ramp or each ramp 34 is arranged at a distance from the proximal end 32 of the thread 22 along the main direction, for example between 1.7 mm and 2.0 mm.
[0063] Said distance is chosen according to the arrangement of the surface intended to interact with the thread and the ramp 34.
[0064] In the example shown, the given surface 24 is provided with two ramps, the ramps being the image of each other by rotation of 180° around the axis A-A'.
[0065] The given surface 24 is, for example, provided with a given number of ramps, the ramps being the image of each other by rotation by an angle around the axis A-A', the angle being equal to 360° divided by the given number of ramps.
[0066] The collar 16, more particularly the given surface 24, has an increased radial dimension at the level of the ramp(s) 34 by said ramp(s) 34.
[0067] The ramp or each ramp 34 is adapted so that the contact between the ramp 34 and the surface having the tapping interacting with the thread 22 increases progressively from a point contact to a maximum surface contact, then, in a particular embodiment, decreases from the maximum surface contact to a reduced surface contact.
[0068] The contact causes a localized elastic deformation of the surface interacting with the ramp 34.
[0069] The maximum surface contact area is, for example, between 4.5 mm2 and 5.5 mm2 for each ramp.
[0070] The maximum surface contact corresponds, for example, to a localized displacement of the surface interacting with the ramp 34 of a volume of 1 mm3 for each ramp.
[0071] Said localized displacement here results in an ovalization of said surface.
[0072] The reduced surface contact is strictly less than the maximum surface contact. The ratio of the reduced surface contact to the maximum surface contact is, for example, less than or equal to 0.8.
[0073] The reduced surface contact is, for example, between 3.5 mm2 and 4.4 mm2.
[0074] The reduced surface contact approaches, for example, a linear contact, or alternatively to a one-off contact.
[0075] The reduced surface contact extends, for example, over a radial portion representing at least 30° around the axis A-A'.
[0076] The ramp 34 here has an increasing radial dimension in the screwing direction F of the thread 22 up to a notch 36.
[0077] The notch 36 forms an end of the ramp 34 in the screwing direction or the ramp 34 has a reduction in its radial dimension after the notch 36.
[0078] The notch 36 is arranged beyond the proximal end 32 of the thread 22 according to the screwing direction F.
[0079] The ramp 34 is such that the crossing of the notch 36 by a tapped surface interacting with the thread 22 results in a tactile production likely to be felt by a user manipulating the device 10.
[0080] The ramp 34 extends between an upstream end 38 and a downstream end 40.
[0081] The radial dimension of the ramp 34 increases from the upstream end 38 to the notch 36.
[0082] The notch 36 is coincident with the downstream end 40 or the radial dimension of the ramp 34 decreases strictly from the notch 36 to the downstream end 40.
[0083] In the example shown, the downstream end 40 is distinct from the notch 36. The radial dimension of the ramp 34 increases from the upstream end 38 to the notch 36 and then decreases strictly from the notch 36 to the downstream end 40.
[0084] The notch 36 is alternatively a point location or a location having an angular radial extent.
[0085] In the example shown, the notch 36 extends over a radial angular extent greater than or equal to 10°, here between 10° and 15°.
[0086] At the notch, the radial dimension of the ramp 34 is substantially constant.
[0087] Between notch 36 and downstream end 40, ramp 34 has a break 37 here. The radial dimension of the ramp 34 decreases more strictly here after the break 37 than before the break 37.
[0088] In the example shown, the ramp 34 has between the beginning of the notch 36 and the break 37 a radial angular extent of between 30° and 35°.
[0089] The thread 22 is arranged between the ramp 34 and the distal end 20 of the neck 16. More particularly, the thread 22 is arranged between the ramp 34 and the distal end 20 of the neck 16 in the main direction.
[0090] The upstream end 38 extends substantially in alignment with the proximal end 32 of the thread 22 along the main direction.
[0091] In the example shown, the ramp 34 has a lateral surface 41 and a top surface 42.
[0092] The ramp 34 extends between the upper surface 42 and a base 43 in the axial direction parallel to the main axis A-A'.
[0093] The base 43 is here perpendicular to the principal axis A-A'.
[0094] Base 43 is, for example, confused with the base of collar 16.
[0095] The lateral surface 41 extends parallel to the main axis A-A'.
[0096] The lateral surface 41 defines the radial end of the ramp 34, so that the The radial dimension of the ramp 34 is measured at the lateral surface 4L
[0097] The upper surface 42 extends opposite the thread 22.
[0098] The upper surface 42 connects the lateral surface 41 to a portion of the surface given 24, more particularly a cylindrical portion of the given surface 24, extending between the ramp 34 and the thread 22. More particularly, the lateral surface 41 and the upper surface 42 are connected by a fillet and the upper surface 42 and said portion of the given surface are connected, for example by a fillet.
[0099] In a first portion extending from the upstream end 38 to an intermediate peak of the upper surface 42, for example to notch 36, here to the beginning of notch 36 from the upstream end 36, the ramp 34 has a height, measured along the axial direction between the base 43 and the upper surface 42, increasing from the upstream end 38 towards the intermediate apex along the circumferential direction.
[0100] In the first portion, the upper surface 42 is substantially flat and forms an angle α between 3° and 10°, more particularly equal to 5°, with the local radial direction, said radial direction being defined for each half-plane extending from the principal axis A-A' and including said principal axis A-A'.
[0101] In the first portion, the upper surface 42 is inclined so that the inside of the upper surface is closer to the thread 22 in the main direction relative to the outside of the upper surface.
[0102] In a second portion extending from the intermediate summit opposite the first portion, the height of the ramp 34 decreases from the intermediate summit in the circumferential direction.
[0103] More specifically, here, at notch 36, the height of the ramp 34 is substantially constant. Then, at the end of notch 36, the height of the ramp 34 decreases rapidly to a quasi-linear zone all the way to the downstream end 40.
[0104] The quasi-linear zone extends over an angular radial extent between 17° and 23°.
[0105] The first part 12 further advantageously comprises at least one radially projecting portion of the given surface. This portion is a stop 44. More particularly, the first part 12 comprises a stop 44 by ramp 34.
[0106] Each stop 44 extends at the level of the downstream end 40 of the corresponding ramp 34.
[0107] The stop or each stop 44 extends in a radial plane with respect to the main axis A-A'. Here, the two stops 44 extend in the same radial plane.
[0108] More particularly, the stop or each stop 44 comprises a surface extending along the respective radial plane, said surface forming the stop element.
[0109] The stop or each stop 44 forms a radially projecting stop downstream of the corresponding ramp 34.
[0110] The stop or each stop 44 forms a stop for a displacement along the circumferential direction.
[0111] The first part 12 is solid, that is to say non-deformable.
[0112] The first piece 12 is here made of glass.
[0113] An example of a second part 14 is partially shown in transparency in figures 5 and 6.
[0114] The second part 14 is movable between a product application configuration in which the second part 14 is outside the inner volume of the first part 12 and a storage configuration in which the second part 14 is partially inserted into the internal volume and held fixed on the first part 12.
[0115] The second part 14 has a linked end 46.
[0116] The second part 14 and the first part 12 are joined together in the configuration storage at the linked end level 46.
[0117] In the storage configuration, the bound end 46 of the second part 14 extends around the neck 16 of the first part.
[0118] The second part 14 has a surface 47 with an additional thread 48 suitable for cooperating with the thread 22 of the first part 12 to allow a closure, here watertight, of the device 10 by screwing the second part 14 onto the first part 12.
[0119] The second part 14 includes, here, a gripping member 50, which here also forms a stopper.
[0120] The grasping organ 50 has a general cylindrical shape.
[0121] The second part 14, here the gripping member 50, has internally the complementary thread 48.
[0122] The surface 47 is an internal surface of the second part 14, here of the grasping organ 50.
[0123] The closure is such that it corresponds to a stop of the second part 14 relative to the first part 12 in a precise configuration, in particular thanks to the cooperation of the second part 14 with the stop 44.
[0124] The second part 14, more particularly here the grasping organ 50, is, for example, provided with at least one axially projecting outgrowth 52, more particularly at the level of the linked end 46.
[0125] More particularly, the second part 14 includes an outgrowth 52 by stop 44 of the first part 12.
[0126] Each protrusion 52 has an interior surface included in the surface 47.
[0127] The inner surface of each protrusion 52 extends in continuity with the surface carrying the tapping in the direction parallel to the main axis of the tapping 48.
[0128] Each outgrowth 52 has a thickness, measured radially, equal to the thickness of the rest of the grasping organ.
[0129] Each protrusion 52 also has a radial surface 54, extending along a radial plane with respect to the main axis of the tapped hole 48.
[0130] Each protrusion 52 is adapted to extend against, more particularly so that the radial surface 54 extends against, the corresponding stop 44, when the second part 14 is fully screwed onto the first part 12, as will be described more precisely below.
[0131] The ramp 34 is arranged so that the surface 47 comes into contact with the ramp 34 when screwing the second part 14 onto the first part 12, more particularly at the end of screwing the second part 14 onto the first part 12.
[0132] The inner surface of each protrusion 52 is arranged to come into contact with the corresponding ramp 34, when screwing the second part 14 onto the first part 12.
[0133] At least one protrusion is arranged such that at least one protrusion 52 is the first part of the second part 14 in contact with the ramp 34 when screwing the second part 14 onto the first part 12.
[0134] The second part 14 further comprises a rod extending the gripping member 50 and an application element located at one end of the rod.
[0135] In the storage configuration, the gripping member 50 is integral with the first part 12 and forms a plug by closing the internal volume of the first part 12, the rod passing through the access passage 18 of the first part 12 and the application element being located in the internal volume.
[0136] The gripping member 50 is capable of elastically deforming in contact with the ramp 34.
[0137] Furthermore, in an advantageous embodiment, the rod includes a sealing element intended to allow a tight closure of the first part 12, by screwing the second part 14 onto the first part 12.
[0138] The sealing element is, for example, a skirt arranged around the stem, near the gripping element 50.
[0139] Alternatively, the sealing element is, for example, a compressible seal.
[0140] The rod and the application element are adapted to be engaged in the internal volume of the first part.
[0141] The application element is for example a mascara brush having a twisted metal core and bristles held transversely between the turns of the core or a tip, flocked or not, elastically deformable or not, or a foam, or a felt, or a brush or a brush without a metal core for example a brush or a comb made by injection of plastic material.
[0142] An example of a method for using the cosmetic product packaging device will now be described.
[0143] The device is supplied, the second part 14 being in application configuration, i.e. detached from the first part 12.
[0144] To join the first part 12 and the second part 14, a user grasps the gripping member 50 of the second part 14.
[0145] The user then screws the second part 14 onto the first part 12 by cooperation of the thread 22 and the complementary tapping 48, the screwing being carried out in the screwing direction F.
[0146] When the surface 47 having the complementary thread 48, and here also including the inner surface of the protrusion 52, comes into contact with the ramp 34, the force to be applied to continue screwing increases by interaction, in particular in the radial direction, of the surface 47 of the second part 14 with the increase in the radial dimension of the first part 12 at the level of the ramp 34.
[0147] The contact between the ramp 34 and the surface 47 increases progressively from a point contact to the maximum surface contact, visible in [Fig.5], then, in the present particular embodiment, decreases from the maximum surface contact to the reduced surface contact, visible in [Fig.6].
[0148] In the embodiment shown, the inner surface of the protrusion 52 first comes into contact with the ramp 34, followed by the portion of the surface extending between the thread and the connected end 46.
[0149] Then, the user continues to screw the second part onto the first part.
[0150] The contact between the ramp 34 and the surface 47 increases, so that the screwing force to be applied increases.
[0151] The contact causes a localized elastic deformation of the surface 47.
[0152] The variation of the radial dimension and here of the height of the ramp then increases the contact area between the surface 47 and the ramp 34. This allows in particular a distribution of the forces applied on the surface 47.
[0153] The ramp allows for a progressive deformation of the surface 47 in contact with the ramp 34, both here in the radial direction and in the direction of the principal axis A-A'. This notably prevents the surface from being damaged by a sudden contact which would not allow this deformation.
[0154] Here, the contact between the ramp 34 and the surface 47 corresponds to the maximum surface contact when the inner surface of the protrusion 52 passes through the level of the notch 36.
[0155] Then, after passing the maximum surface contact and the notch, the screwing force decreases.
[0156] The variation of the radial dimension and here of the height of the ramp also makes it possible to reduce the contact area between the surface 47 and the ramp 34.
[0157] In addition, the stress exerted on the surface 47 by the progressive deformation is released, here abruptly, which gives a sensation of click to the user, which informs him of the passage of the notch 36.
[0158] In the storage configuration, contact is minimal.
[0159] In addition, in the storage configuration, the radial surface 54 of the protrusion 52 extends against the stop 52.
[0160] Thus, the ramp initially causes a sensation of increased tightening due to the increase in the radial dimension of the ramp, and then, in a second stage, a relaxation by releasing the stress exerted on the surface, giving a sensation of clicking to the user.
[0161] When the surface 47 crosses the notch 36, here in the screwing direction F, this results in a tactile production likely to be felt by the user manipulating the device 10.
[0162] Crossing the notch, and the corresponding tactile production, then indicates to the user that the second part 14 is screwed onto the first part 12, i.e. in the storage configuration of the second part 14, represented on the [Fig.6].
[0163] Thus, the first part 12 is closed by the second part 14.
[0164] Conversely, to use the device, the user grasps the gripping organ 50 of the second part 14 and applies a force to unscrew the second part 14 from the first part 12 in the opposite direction to the screwing direction F.
[0165] The notch 36 also represents a maximum, at least locally, of the radial dimension in the opposite direction to the screwing direction F.
[0166] Thus, the passage of the notch 36 requires the application of a force strictly greater than the displacement force of the complementary tapping 48 on the thread 22.
[0167] Thus, notch 36 has a function to prevent unintended unscrewing of the second part, for example self-unscrewing or unscrewing by a child, by requiring the application of additional force for the passage of notch 36.
[0168] When the surface 47 crosses the notch 36, here in the opposite direction to the screwing direction F, this also results in a tactile production likely to be felt by the user handling the device 10.
[0169] The cooperation of the surface 47 with the ramp 34 then slows down the first part of the unscrewing.
[0170] The user then continues to unscrew the second part 14 from the first part 12 until the additional tapping 48 no longer cooperates with the thread 22.
[0171] The application element extends outside the first part 12.
[0172] The user can then apply the cosmetic product.
[0173] The device of the invention therefore provides sensory feedback to the user regarding the screwing of a second part onto the first part, advantageously presenting a braking function when opening the device and an anti-self-unscrewing function.
[0174] The ramp forms a rigid contact with the threaded surface, so that the parts do not deform irreversibly.
[0175] In addition, the force exerted by the user is distributed over the large contact area between the ramp and the second part, in particular compared to the passage of a simple fin, so that the parts do not wear noticeably.
[0176] Furthermore, the second part 14 does not have a special shape, but only a standard threaded surface. Thus, adding a ramp 34 to the first part 12 does not require adapting the design of the second part 14.
