Description

Title of the invention: Stator for axial flux rotating electrical machine and rotating electrical machine

[0001] The invention relates to a stator for an axial flux rotating electrical machine and to an axial flux rotating electrical machine equipped with such a stator.

[0002] A stator for a rotating electrical machine with axial flux comprising a rotor having an axis of rotation (A) is known from application WO2016034570A1, the stator comprising:

[0003] - elementary core sectors, each elementary core sector forming teeth capable of interacting with the rotor, each elementary core sector comprising a body as well as a first breech and a second breech, the first breech and the second breech being located circumferentially at the two ends of the body,

[0004] - elementary windings, each elementary winding being wound around a first yoke of an elementary core sector and a second yoke of an adjacent elementary core sector, so that each winding overlaps two adjacent elementary core sectors.

[0005] The elementary kernel sectors are inserted on a ring having an opening.

[0006] Such a stator has the disadvantage of being particularly complex and difficult to assemble. Indeed, the opening in the ring prevents the ring from holding at least one core sector. This core sector must have a different fastening system and therefore cannot be identical to the other core sectors. The number of different parts required to manufacture the stator results in a significant stator cost and thus a high cost for the rotating electrical machine. Furthermore, the presence of a hole in the core sectors for the ring insertion prevents the production of core sectors by radial stacking of laminations. The core sectors must therefore be made of more expensive materials such as soft magnetic composites (SMCs).This results in a high stator cost and therefore a high cost for the rotating electrical machine with high axial flux.

[0007] The present invention aims to resolve all or part of these drawbacks.

[0008] The invention relates to a stator for a rotating electrical machine with axial flux comprising a rotor having an axis of rotation, the stator comprising: - elementary core sectors, each elementary core sector forming teeth capable of interacting with the rotor, each elementary core sector comprising a first yoke and a first body, the first body extending axially between a first side and a second side of the elementary core sector, and the first yoke extending from the first body and having an orthoradial axis, - elementary windings, the elementary windings each being wound around the first yoke of an elementary core sector along the orthoradial axis of the first yoke, the elementary windings extending along the orthoradial axis between a first end of the elementary winding and a second end of the elementary winding, the first end of the elementary winding facing the first body of the elementary core sector around which the elementary winding is wound, in which two adjacent elementary core sectors are in contact in a first contact zone located circumferentially at the level of the second end of the winding or circumferentially distant from the winding.

[0009] Such a stator allows for simplified manufacturing. Indeed, such elementary core sectors, each carrying an elementary winding, are easily radially assembled. Furthermore, the elementary core sectors and windings are standardized. It is thus possible to reduce the cost of the axial flux rotating electrical machine. Such a stator also allows for a reduction in the size of the windings, the windings being portions of the elementary windings that extend radially inside and outside the first yokes.

[0010] According to a further feature of the invention, the elementary core sectors each comprise a first tooth foot extending circumferentially from the first body on the first side of the elementary core sector, a first notch space being formed between the first tooth foot and the elementary core sector adjacent to the first tooth foot.

[0011] The use of such a first tooth root improves the magnetic flux between the rotor and the stator. The performance of the rotating electrical machine is therefore improved. Furthermore, such a first tooth root reduces torque ripple in the axial flux rotating electrical machine. The noise of the axial flux rotating electrical machine is thus reduced.

[0012] According to a further feature of the invention, the elementary core sectors each comprise two first tooth feet extending circumferentially from the first body on the first side and the second side of the elementary core sector, with first notch spaces being formed between the first tooth feet and the elementary core sector adjacent to the first tooth feet.

[0013] The use of first tooth roots on each side of the elementary core sectors and therefore on each side of the stator makes it possible to improve the magnetic fluxes between the stator and two rotors located axially on either side of the stator. In effect, the first teeth allow for better channeling of the magnetic flux lines in the air gap between the teeth and the rotors. The performance of the rotating electrical machine is therefore improved.

[0014] According to a further feature of the invention, the elementary core sectors each comprise a second tooth foot extending circumferentially from the first body in a circumferentially opposite direction to the first tooth foot, the notch space being formed between the first tooth foot and second tooth foot of two adjacent elementary core sectors.

[0015] The use of such a second tooth in addition to the first tooth further improves the magnetic flux between the rotor and the stator. The performance of the rotating electrical machine is therefore enhanced. Furthermore, the use of a second tooth in addition to the first tooth allows, for the same notch spacing, a reduction in the length of the first tooth. Shorter tooth feet facilitate the fabrication of the elementary core sectors. The robustness of the rotating electrical machine is also improved.

[0016] According to a further feature of the invention, the elementary core sectors each comprise two second tooth feet extending circumferentially from the first body in a circumferentially opposite direction to the first tooth feet, notch spaces being formed between one of the first tooth feet and one of the second tooth feet of two adjacent elementary core sectors and between the other of the first tooth feet and the other of the second tooth feet of the two adjacent elementary core sectors.

[0017] The use of such second tooth feet in addition to the first tooth feet allows for a further improvement in the magnetic flux between the rotor and the stator. The performance of the rotating electrical machine is therefore improved. Moreover, the use of second tooth feet in addition to the first tooth feet allows, for an equal notch spacing, a reduction in the length of the first tooth feet. Shorter tooth feet facilitate the manufacturing of the elementary core sectors. The robustness of the rotating electrical machine is also improved.

[0018] According to an additional feature of the invention, the first contact zone is a first connection by complementary shapes allowing a hold between the two adjacent elementary core sectors in the circumferential direction and in the axial direction and allowing a sliding in the radial direction between the two adjacent elementary core sectors, the first connection by complementary shapes being in particular a dovetail connection or a T-shaped connection or a cylindrical sliding connection.

[0019] Such an initial connection through complementary shapes allows for good retention circumferential of the elementary core sectors relative to each other. The positioning of the stator teeth is thus more precise and the performance of the rotating electrical machine with axial flux is improved.

[0020] According to a further feature of the invention, the elementary core sectors comprise a radial stack of sheets, in particular a radial stack of flat sheets.

[0021] According to a further feature of the invention, the stator comprises an outer ring and an inner ring, the elementary core sectors comprising a radially outer surface and a radially inner surface, the radially outer surface of the elementary core sectors being in contact with the outer ring and the radially inner surface of the elementary core sectors being in contact with the inner ring.

[0022] The use of such an outer and inner ring allows for good radial positioning of the elementary core sectors. This makes it possible to improve the relative positioning between the rotor poles and the stator teeth. The performance of the electric machine is therefore improved.

[0023] According to a further feature of the invention, the stator comprises a first number (m) of phases, each phase occupying at least one distinct elementary stator sector, each elementary stator sector comprising: - a plurality of elementary core sectors and elementary windings, the elementary windings of an elementary stator sector forming a phase winding, - a first end kernel sector and a second end kernel sector, the plurality of elementary kernel sectors being located circumferentially between the first end kernel sector and the second end kernel sector, the first end core sector comprising a second body, the second body facing the second end of the elementary winding wound on the adjacent elementary core sector, the second body extending axially between a first side and a second side of the first end core sector, the first end core sector and the elementary core sector adjacent to the first end core sector being in contact in a second contact zone located circumferentially at the second end of the elementary winding wound on the adjacent elementary core sector or circumferentially distant from the elementary winding wound on the adjacent elementary core sector, the second end core sector comprising a third body and a second breech, the third body extending axially between a first side and a second side of the second end core sector, and the second yoke extending from the third body and having an orthoradial axis, an elementary winding being wound around the second yoke of the second end core sector along the orthoradial axis of the second yoke, the first end of the elementary winding facing the first body of the elementary core sector adjacent to the second end core sector, the second end core sector and the elementary core sector adjacent to the second end core sector are in contact in a third contact zone located circumferentially at the first end of the elementary winding or circumferentially distant from the elementary winding.

[0024] Such distinct elementary stator sectors for the phases make it possible to increase the number of poles of a rotating electrical machine with axial flux without reducing the width of the stator teeth. Wider stator teeth facilitate stator winding. This makes it possible to simplify stator manufacturing and thus reduce its cost. In addition, such distinct elementary stator sectors allow for a reduction of subharmonics.

[0025] According to a further feature of the invention, the first end sector and / or the second end sector comprise a radial stack of sheets, in particular a radial stack of flat sheets.

[0026] According to a further feature of the invention, the second contact zone is a second complementary shape connection allowing a hold between the first end core sector and the elementary core sector adjacent to the first end core sector in the circumferential direction and in the axial direction and allowing a sliding in the radial direction between the first end core sector and the elementary core sector adjacent to the first end core sector, the second complementary shape connection being in particular a dovetail connection or a T-shaped connection or a cylindrical sliding connection.

[0027] Such a second connection through complementary shapes allows for good circumferential support between the first end core sector and the adjacent elementary core sector. The positioning of the stator teeth is thus more precise, and the performance of the axially flux rotating electrical machine is improved.

[0028] According to a further feature of the invention, the third contact zone is a third connection by complementary shapes allowing a hold between the second end core sector and the elementary core sector adjacent to the second end core sector in the circumferential direction and in the axial direction and allowing sliding in the radial direction between the second end core sector and the elementary core sector adjacent to the second end core sector, the third connection by complementary shape being in particular a dovetail joint or a T-shaped joint or a cylindrical slide joint.

[0029] Such a third connection through complementary shapes allows for good circumferential support between the second end core sector and the adjacent elementary core sector. The positioning of the stator teeth is thus more precise, and the performance of the axially flux-rotating electrical machine is improved.

[0030] According to a further feature of the invention, the first end core sector and the second end core sector of two adjacent elementary stator sectors are separated by a flux barrier, in particular a flux barrier made of a non-magnetic material, in particular a flux barrier made of a plastic material.

[0031] Such a flux barrier makes it possible to limit magnetic leakage between the elementary stator sectors. The performance of the axial flux rotating electric machine is thus increased.

[0032] According to a further feature of the invention, the first and second end core sectors comprise a radially external surface and a radially internal surface, the radially external surface of the first and second end core sectors being in contact with the outer ring and the radially internal surface of the first and second end core sectors being in contact with the inner ring. With such a flux barrier, the dimensions of the flux barrier can be adjusted according to the actual dimensions of the elementary core sectors, the first and second end core sectors. The dimensional tolerances on the elementary core sectors, the first and second end core sectors can be increased. This simplifies stator assembly and reduces the cost of the stator.

[0033] The use of such an outer and inner ring allows for good radial positioning of the first and second end core sectors. This makes it possible to improve the relative positioning between the rotor poles and the stator teeth. The performance of the electric machine is therefore improved.

[0034] According to a further feature of the invention, the flow barriers are formed of material with the outer ring and / or the inner ring.

[0035] The invention also relates to a rotating axial flux electrical machine comprising: - a stator (2) according to one of the preceding claims, - a rotor (3) facing axially to the stator (2).

[0036] The rotating electrical machine may include a power electronic component suitable for connection to a vehicle's on-board electrical system. This power electronic component includes, for example, an inverter / rectifier that, depending on whether the rotating electrical machine is operating as a motor or a generator, can either load the vehicle's on-board electrical system or be electrically powered from it.
