Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Pivoting base for a vehicle seat, in particular a motor vehicle, associated seat and motor vehicle
[0001] The present invention relates to a pivoting base for a vehicle seat, in particular a motor vehicle. The present invention also relates to a vehicle seat comprising such a pivoting base and a motor vehicle comprising such a seat.
[0002] Some vehicles, particularly recreational vehicles such as motorhomes, also known as "camper vans" or "vans" in English, are often equipped with seats mounted on a swivel base, so that the seats can be turned, depending on the circumstances and the choice of a user, towards the front or the rear of the vehicle. This swivel base generally comprises two plates, which are made of metal sheets and which are mounted to pivot relative to each other using a rotation system. One of the plates is fixed to the seat, while the other plate is fixed to the floor of the vehicle. The plates are fixed to the corresponding element, seat or floor, generally by means of screws or bolts. It is thus possible to equip a non-swivel seat with a swivel base, or to remove a defective base.
[0003] The rotation system generally comprises parts fitted with grooves and welded directly onto the plates. However, the welding generates deformations which lead to manufacturing hazards, which can alter the final quality of the rotation system, or sometimes even its proper functioning. Indeed, since the size of the plates must be very small to limit the raising of the seat, a small manufacturing defect can prevent the proper functioning of the rotation system.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is to overcome the drawback explained above, by proposing a new pivoting base for a vehicle seat which is not subject to manufacturing hazards linked to welding.
[0005] For this purpose, the invention relates to a pivoting base for a seat of a motor vehicle, in particular a camper van. The pivoting base comprises a first plate, which extends along a first plane and which is configured to be fixed to a floor of the motor vehicle, a second plate, which extends parallel to the first plate and which is configured to be fixed to the seat, the second plate being pivotally mounted about a pivot axis relative to the first plate, in an assembled configuration of the pivoting base, and the second plate being held at a distance from and facing the first plate, a flange ... and which is configured to be fixed to the seat, the second plate being pivotally mounted about a pivot axis relative to in the foreground, which is fixed relative to, and opposite, the first plate, the flange and the first plate being assembled by means of at least one fixing device. Each fixing device comprises a first member, which comprises a bearing head and a threaded rod passing through the first plate, a second member, which comprises a bearing head and a body, the body passing through the flange and being tapped to receive the threaded rod in the assembled configuration and a washer which surrounds the threaded rod. The base is characterized in that, in the assembled configuration, the washer is elastically deformable and interposed between the second member and the first plate, the second member bears against the washer, and exerts on the washer a predefined force of compression of the washer, and the predefined force of compression of the washer is defined by a maximum torque for screwing the first and second members onto each other.
[0006] Thanks to the invention, the parts, in particular the flange, are screwed onto the plates, in particular onto the first plate, so it is no longer necessary to weld the parts onto the plates. This makes it possible to avoid manufacturing hazards linked to welding and, thus, to obtain a more reliable manufacturing process, and higher quality swivel bases, with better operation. In addition, the invention makes it possible to precisely control the distance between the flange and the first plate, therefore, between the two plates and, thus, to ensure that the two plates are parallel to each other. Thus, easy pivoting of the second plate relative to the first plate is ensured.
[0007] According to advantageous but not obligatory aspects of the invention, such a pivoting base may incorporate one or more of the following characteristics taken in isolation or in any technically admissible combination: - one of the first and second members comprises a screwing head, carried by the support head of this member, configured to detach from the support head when a torque equal to the maximum screwing torque is applied to the screwing end; - the maximum screwing torque is between 0.2 and 5 Nm, preferably between 0.5 and 1 Nm; - the first organ is a stud; - the stud is fixed on, preferably set in, the first plate; - the washer is a Grower washer; - the body of the second organ is a threaded socket; and - a distance between the first and second plate, measured parallel to the pivot axis is less than 19 mm, preferably less than 15 mm, preferably less than 13 mm.
[0008] The invention also relates to a seat for a motor vehicle, the seat comprising a seat and a swivel base as described above, wherein the seat is fixed to the second plate of the swivel base.
[0009] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle, in particular a camper van, comprising the seat as described above, in which the first plate of the pivoting base is fixed to a floor of the motor vehicle.
[0010] The invention will be better understood in the light of the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the drawings in which: - [Fig.l] [Fig.l] is a schematic longitudinal section of a motor vehicle in accordance with the invention, comprising a seat mounted on a pivoting base, also in accordance with the invention; - [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a partially exploded perspective view of a part of the seat; - [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a perspective section along the section line IV-IV' of the base of [Fig.2] in the unassembled configuration; - [Fig.4] [Fig.4] is a section of the base in assembled configuration according to the section line IV-IV' in [Fig.2].
[0011] A motor vehicle 10 is shown in [Fig.l]. The motor vehicle 10, also called “vehicle 10”, is here a camper van. Here, the vehicle 10 comprises a body 12 which provides an internal volume V12 intended to accommodate people, the driver or passengers of the vehicle 10. The body 12 rests on wheels 14, which rest on the ground 16. The ground 16 is assumed to be horizontal, the following description being made in relation to the orientation of the various elements of the vehicle 10 as shown in the figures, knowing that it may be otherwise in reality.
[0012] The body 12 comprises a floor 12A, which extends parallel to the ground 16. The floor 12A is therefore horizontal here. The vehicle 10 is configured to move in a preferred direction, defining a forward direction DA of the vehicle 10. The forward direction DA is here oriented towards the left of [Fig.l]. The vehicle 10 provides a driving position, represented schematically by a steering wheel 18, which is located on a front side of the vehicle 10. The front side of the vehicle 10 is here located on the left of [Fig.l]. A rear side of the vehicle 10 is a side opposite the front side. The rear side of the vehicle 10 is here located on the right of [Fig.l].
[0013] The vehicle 10 comprises a seat 20, which is received in the interior volume V12 and which is fixed to the body 12, the seat 20 being designed to accommodate a person in a seated position. The seat 20 is here a driver's seat, that is to say a seat arranged facing the steering wheel 18. In a variant not shown, the seat 20 is a passenger seat, for example a seat next to the driver, or even a seat located in a rear row relative to the driver's seat.
[0014] The seat 20 comprises a seat 22, on which the driver sits, and a backrest 24. The seat 20 also comprises a pivoting base 100. The seat 20 is fixed to the floor 12A by means of the pivoting base 100, in an assembled configuration of the seat 20. In the assembled configuration of the seat 20, the seat 22 extends substantially parallel to the floor 12A.
[0015] The pivoting base 100, also simply called “base 100” hereinafter, is here fixed to the floor 12A by means of a base 102. The base 102 is here shown schematically and has a generally parallelepiped shape. The base 102 is here used to adjust the height of the seat 22 relative to the floor 12A. In a variant not shown, the base 102 is omitted, in which case the base 100 is fixed directly to the floor 12A.
[0016] When the pivoting base 100 is inserted between the seat 20 and the floor 12A, or between the seat 20 and the base 102, this seat 20 is raised relative to the floor 12A or to the base 102. By being raised in this way, the seat 20 must comply with various regulatory constraints, in particular the fact that the elevation of the seat 20 resulting from the addition of the base 100 remains less than 25 millimeters (mm).
[0017] With reference to [Fig. 2], the base 100 comprises a first plate 110 and a second plate 120. The first plate 110 and the second plate 120 are each manufactured from a metal plate, preferably a steel plate, and are for example manufactured by cutting and / or stamping. The plates 110 and 120 are chosen to be sufficiently thick to mechanically withstand dynamic forces, in particular in the event of an accident or crash test, while remaining as thin as possible, to avoid unnecessary weight. Thus, generally speaking, the first plate 110 and the second plate 120 each have a thickness of between 3 mm and 6 mm. In the example illustrated, the first plate 110 and the second plate 120 each have a thickness equal to 4 mm.
[0018] The first plate 110 has a substantially planar shape and extends along a first plane PI 10. The first plate 110 is configured to be fixed to the floor 12A of the vehicle 10 by means of first screws 201. In the example illustrated, the first plate 110 is fixed to the floor 12A via the base 102 by means of the first screws 201.
[0019] The first plate 110 here has a generally rectangular shape, with four angles 112, one of the first screws 201 being arranged in the vicinity of each of the angles 112 of the first plate 110.
[0020] The shape of the first plate 110 is not limiting.
[0021] Alternatively, the first plate 110 has a trapezoidal shape or another shape, especially polygonal.
[0022] The first plate 110 provides a first orifice 114. The first orifice 114 is here located substantially at the barycenter of the four angles 112 and has a generally circular contour centered on a first axis Al 14, which is orthogonal to the first plane PI 10. Alternatively, the first orifice 114 is offset relative to the barycenter of the four angles 112, so as to benefit from the offset during and / or at the end of a rotation of the seat 20.
[0023] The second plate 120 has a substantially planar shape and extends along a second plane P120. The second plate 120 is configured to be fixed to the seat 22 by means of second screws 202. In the example illustrated, the second plate 120 is fixed to the seat 22 by means of slides 23.
[0024] In a variant not illustrated, the slides 23 are omitted, and the second plate 120 is directly fixed to the seat 22 by means of the second screws 202.
[0025] According to another variant not illustrated, the first plate 110 is fixed to the floor 12A by means of the slides 23, that is to say that the slides 23 are interposed between the pivoting base 100 and the floor 12A.
[0026] The second plate 120 here has a generally rectangular shape, with four angles 122, one of the second screws 201 being arranged in the vicinity of each of the four angles 122 of the second plate 120.
[0027] The shape of the second plate 120 is not limiting.
[0028] Alternatively, the second plate 120 has a trapezoidal shape or another shape, especially polygonal.
[0029] Preferably, the external shape of the second plate 120 is similar to the external shape of the first plate 110. More preferably, the second plate 120 is identical to the first plate 110. What is valid for the first plate 110 is transposable to the second plate 120.
[0030] The second plate 120 provides a second orifice 124. The second orifice 124 here has a circular shape centered on a second axis A124, which is orthogonal to the second plane P120.
[0031] In an assembled configuration of the pivoting base 100, the second plate 120 is pivotally mounted relative to the first plate 110, and is held at a distance from and facing the first plate 110 by means of a spacer 131, the first plane PI 10 being parallel to the second plane P120.
[0032] The second plate 120 is guided in rotation relative to the first plate 110 according to a rotational movement F100 around a pivot axis A100 orthogonal to the first plane PI 10. The rotational movement F100 is represented, in FIGS. 1 and 2, by a circular double arrow centered on the pivot axis A100. The pivot axis A100 is here merged with the first and second axes A1 14 and A124.
[0033] The rotational movement F100 of the second plate around the pivot axis A100 is advantageously facilitated by a sliding bearing 132, which borders the orifice 124, and into which the second plate 120 is inserted. The sliding bearing 132 is, for example, made of two L-section gaskets, made of polymer and derivatives. Alternatively, a single U-section gasket can be used to form the sliding bearing 132.
[0034] The distance dl between the first and second plates 110 and 120, measured parallel to the pivot axis A100, is notably chosen as a function of their respective thicknesses, so as to comply with the various regulatory constraints, in particular so that the elevation of the seat 20 caused by the addition of the base 100 remains less than 25 mm. In the case where the plates 110 and 120 have a thickness of 3 mm, they are spaced apart by a chosen distance dl of less than 19 mm, and in the case where the plates 110 and 120 have a thickness of 6 mm, they are spaced apart by a chosen distance dl of less than 13 mm. In the example illustrated, the first and second plates 110 and 120 each have a thickness equal to 4 mm, thus they are spaced apart by a distance dl of less than 15 mm. Thus, a height d3, measured parallel to the pivot axis A100 between the opposite faces of the first and second plates 110 and 120, is less than or equal to 25 mm.
[0035] The spacer 131 is arranged between the first and second plates 110 and 120, bears against the first plate 110 and is substantially annular, in order to follow the contours of the orifice 114 without blocking it. The spacer 131 is substantially planar, and parallel to the plane PI 10, in order to maintain the distance between the first plate 110 and the second plate 120 constant, when the base 100 is in the assembled configuration. The spacer 131 is advantageously composed of three thirds of a spacer, distributed around the first orifice 114 and assembled together to form the complete spacer 131 which is annular and surrounds the first orifice 114.
[0036] A flange 130 is arranged parallel to the plane PI 10, beyond the second plate 120 relative to the first plate 110. The flange 130 is generally annular, in order to follow the contours of the orifice 124 without substantially blocking it. In the assembled configuration, it is assembled to the first plate 110, parallel to the plane PI 10 and held at a distance from and facing the first plate 110. The flange 130 is assembled to the first plate 110 by means of at least one, preferably several, fixing devices 140, visible in Figures 3 and 4. Each fixing device 140 passes through an orifice 130a of the flange 130 and a corresponding orifice 110a of the first plate 110, the orifices 110a and 130a being facing each other when the base 100 is in the assembled configuration.
[0037] Each fixing device 140 comprises a first member 141, a second member 145 and a washer 150. A140 denotes a central axis of the fixing device 140.
[0038] The first member 141 is typically a fastening member such as a screw or a stud. The first member 141 comprises a threaded rod 142 and a bearing head 143. The threaded rod 142 is threaded over at least part of its length and passes through a first element, here the first plate 110. More precisely, the threaded rod 142 passes through one of the orifices 110a of the first plate 110.
[0039] In a variant not shown, the first element crossed by the threaded rod 142 is the flange 130.
[0040] The support head 143 is arranged to bear against the first plate 110, on its face opposite the flange 130, beyond the threaded rod 142, when the base 100 is in the assembled configuration.
[0041] The second member 145 is typically a receiving member. The second member 145 comprises a body 146 and a bearing head 147. The body 146 is hollowed out, forming a hollowed-out and threaded cylinder, like a nut, a blind nut or a socket. The body 146 passes through a second element, different from the first element, and which is here the flange 130. More precisely, the body 146 passes through one of the orifices 130a of the flange 130 and the bearing head 147 is arranged to bear against the flange 130, on its face opposite the plate 110, beyond the flange 130 relative to the body 146, when the base 100 is in the assembled configuration.
[0042] In a variant not shown, the second element crossed by the body 146 is the first plate 110.
[0043] 146a denotes an end surface of the body 146 opposite the support head 147, which defines a mouth of the body 146. In the assembled configuration of the base 100, the threaded rod 142 and the body 146 of each fixing device 140 are centered on its central axis A140.
[0044] Advantageously, one of the first or second members 141 or 145 is fixed respectively to the first plate 110 or to the flange 130. For example, the first member 141 is crimped into the first plate 110.
[0045] When the base 100 is in the assembled configuration, for each fixing device 140, the first member 141 is inserted and screwed into the second member 145. A tapping of the second member 145 and a thread of the first member 141 are thus engaged, at least over part of their length.
[0046] The washer 150 is interposed between the second member 145 and the first element, here the first plate 110. More precisely, the washer 150 is arranged on the side of the first plate 110 opposite the bearing head 143 and the second member 145 bears against the washer 150 by the end surface 146a of the body 146 opposite the bearing head 147.
[0047] The washer 150 surrounds the threaded rod 142, at least partially. Indeed, the washer 150 is advantageously an elastic washer, for example a split washer, also called a Grower washer, as shown in Figures 3 and 4. In this case, it does not completely surround the threaded rod 142, due to the gap between the two ex- ends of the washer.
[0048] The elastic washer 150 is alternatively a spring washer, a Belleville washer, which are metal washers. The elastic washer 150 may, according to another alternative, be a washer made of synthetic material, for example elastomer.
[0049] By elastic, it is meant that the washer 150 is elastically deformable during assembly and use of the base 100.
[0050] When assembling the base 100, one of the two members 141 or 145 of each fixing device 140 is screwed to the other corresponding member 141 or 145. In the case of [Fig. 3], it is the second member 145 which is screwed onto the first member 141, since the latter is fixed relative to the plate 101 by being crimped therein. More precisely, the body 146 of the second member 145 is screwed onto the threaded rod 142 of the first member 141. The screwing is carried out by applying a screwing torque to the second member 145. The screwing of the different members 141 and 145 brings the bearing heads 143 and 147 together along the central axes A140 of the fixing devices 140, which brings the flange 30 and the first plate 110 together, in a direction parallel to the pivot axis A100, and which generates a compressive force on the washer 150. This compressive force elastically deforms the washer 150.In the case of the figures, where the washer 150 is a Grower washer, this deformation causes the washer to be crushed, this crushing being advantageously partial, the ends of the washer then being slightly offset from each other in a direction parallel to the pivot axis A100.
[0051] It is then possible, knowing the screwing torque, the dimensions of the parts 110, 120, 130, 131, 132, 145 and 150, as well as the properties of the washer 150, to deduce therefrom the compressive force exerted on the washer, the elastic deformation of the washer 150 and a distance d2 between the flange 130 and the first plate 110.
[0052] Thus, a predefined elastic deformation of the washer 150 corresponds to a maximum screwing torque of the first and second members 141 and 145 onto each other, and a nominal distance d2N between the flange 130 and the first plate 110. The nominal distance d2N is chosen such that the second plate 120 is guided in pivoting between the plate 110 and the flange 130, but that this nominal distance d2N allows a very slight movement in the direction of the pivot axis A100, to facilitate the pivoting of the second plate 120 in the sliding bearing 132.
[0053] The compressive force applied to the washer 150, by the plate 110 and the body 146, when the distance d2 is equal to the distance d2N is a predefined compressive force because it is imposed by the maximum screwing torque and the dimensions of the parts 110, 120, 130, 131, 132, 145 and 150, which determine the elastic deformation of the washer 150. The predefined compression force generates an elastic reaction force of the washer, also predefined, which presses the thread of the threaded rod 142 and the tapping of the body 146 against each other, generating friction forces, which prevents the two members 141 and 145 from unscrewing. The fact that the compression force, therefore the elastic reaction force, are predefined makes it possible to ensure that the friction forces between the thread and the tapping of each assembly device 140 are sufficient so that the members 141 and 145 cannot unscrew.
[0054] In the case shown in the figures, where the elastic washer 150 is a Grower washer, in addition to the friction forces preventing the unscrewing of the members 141 and 145, ends of the washer 150 penetrate superficially into the material of the second member 145 and prevent the unscrewing thereof.
[0055] The fact that the compression force is predefined makes it possible to ensure that the distance d2 is indeed equal to the distance d2N, and thus, that the second plate 120 is held by the sliding bearing 132 without being tightened, which leaves the second plate 120 free to pivot around its pivot axis A100. The second plate 120 is therefore guided without play by the sliding bearing 132.
[0056] Screwing the first and second members 141 and 145 onto each other up to a maximum screwing torque that is identical for all the assembly devices 140 also makes it possible to ensure that the distance d2 between the flange 130 and the first plate 110 is identical regardless of the position considered around the axis A100 and equal to the nominal distance d2N, thus ensuring the absence of flatness defects that could hinder the pivoting of the second plate 120 relative to the first plate 110.
[0057] The maximum screwing torque, necessary to reach the nominal distance d2N, is, for example, between 0.2 and 5 Nm, preferably between 0.5 and 1 Nm.
[0058] Advantageously, the one of the fixing members among the first and second fixing members 141 or 145, which is screwed onto the other fixing member, comprises a screwing head 148. Here, it is the second fixing member 145 which comprises the screwing head 148 because the first fixing member is crimped onto the plate 110. The screwing head 148 is carried by the support head 147 of the second fixing member 145. The screwing head 148 is designed to facilitate the screwing of the second member 145 by the user, for example by its hexagonal polygonal shape, and to detach from the support head 147 when the maximum screwing torque is reached. In particular, a tapered and breakable end 149 of the screwing head 148, by which the screwing end 148 is connected to the support head 147, breaks when the maximum tightening torque is reached. Thus, in the assembled configuration shown in [Fig.4], the second member 145 no longer includes the screwing head 148. The second member . 145 can therefore no longer be screwed or unscrewed, for example with a traditional key, or with a hexagonal imprint.
[0059] Furthermore, it is necessary to prevent the unscrewing of the fastening members 141 and 145, which can be caused, among other things, by the vibrations of the vehicle 10 when it is in motion. A thread-locking paste could be used to ensure the rotational stop of the body 146 relative to the threaded rod 142, but this would constitute an expensive and unreliable solution over time, if the thread-locking paste deteriorates. As explained above, the use of the elastic washer 150 makes it possible to ensure, at a lower cost, braking of the second member 145, relative to the first member 141. In the case shown in the figures, where the washer 150 is a Grower washer, braking is further prevented by a physical blocking of the ends of the washer 150, which penetrate superficially into the material of the second member 145.
[0060] The positioning of the washer 150, between the first plate 110 and the second member 145, allows the washer 150 to fulfill the two functions described above, that is to say - maintaining the friction force between the second plate 120 and the first plate 110 at a known value as a function of the nominal distance d2N and - braking the rotation of the second member 145 relative to the first member 141, this without another component being necessary when the base 100 is in the assembled configuration.
[0061] The pivoting base 100 also comprises a locking device, which is controlled by a user and which serves to selectively lock an angular position of the first plate 110 relative to the second plate 120 around the pivot axis A100, so as to avoid untimely rotational movements F100 of the pivoting base. The locking device is not shown.
[0062] According to a variant not shown, the first element through which the threaded rod 142 of the first member 141 passes is the flange 130, through one of its orifices 130a, and the body 146 of the second element 145 passes through the second element which is the first plate 110, through one of its orifices 110a. In this case, the support head 143 is arranged to bear against the flange 130, on its face opposite the first plate 110, beyond the threaded rod 142, when the base 100 is in the assembled configuration, and the support head 147 is arranged to bear against the first plate 110, on its face opposite the flange 130, beyond the plate 110 relative to the body 146. The washer 150 is then interposed between the second member 145 and the first element which is the flange 130. More precisely, the washer 150 is arranged on the side of the flange 130 opposite the support head 143 and the second member 145 bears against the washer 150 by the end surface 146a.
[0063] Any feature described for one embodiment or variation in the foregoing may be implemented for the other embodiments and variations described above, as long as technically feasible.
