[0002] A fan for motor vehicles typically comprises a housing which is often reduced to a ventilation nozzle, a ventilation propeller and a motor. The ventilation propeller and the motor are housed in the ventilation nozzle. In particular, the motor is housed in a motor housing covered on one side by the ventilation nozzle. The ventilation nozzle is typically made of plastic, on which the motor is fixed.
[0003] Such a fan may be provided in various parts of the motor vehicle. Thus, it may be subjected to various environments. In some of these environments, it is important to protect the engine from heat emanating, by radiation, from other elements of the motor vehicle. Also, it is sometimes necessary to protect the engine from projections of liquid such as water, or projectiles such as gravel.
[0004] For this, a thermal protection and / or anti-splash screen is typically provided.
[0005] It is known in the art to provide a thermal protection screen of a propeller motor with openings for cooling the propeller motor. However, these openings do not provide sufficient protection for this motor from splashes and projectiles and also reduce protection against thermal radiation. To correct these drawbacks, the state of the art provides an additional screen between the thermal protection screen and the propeller motor, this additional screen also having openings but which are not arranged opposite the openings of the thermal protection screen. In order to allow air to circulate between these two screens, it is necessary to space them apart from each other. This technique has the following disadvantages, namely that the ventilation box includes several parts to only perform the protection function and due to the necessary spacing between the screens, the size of the ventilation box is greater. [0025] [Fig.l] illustrates a ventilation box 1 according to the invention. This ventilation box 1 comprises: - a ventilation nozzle 2 which comprises a ventilation propeller housing 3 configured to receive a ventilation propeller, the ventilation nozzle 2 having a motor housing 4 configured to receive a fan motor 40 and - a protective screen 5 assembled on the ventilation nozzle 2 so as to cover the motor housing 4 in a direction parallel to an axis of rotation X of the ventilation propeller, the protective screen 5 being configured to protect the motor 40 from the heat of splashes and / or projectiles, the protective screen 5 comprising at least one opening 6 configured to let out the heat generated by the fan motor 40, characterized in that the protective screen 5 comprises protective means 7 configured to partially cover the at least one opening 6, the protective means 7 being integral with the protective screen 5 and in that the protective screen 5 is produced from metallic material, preferably an aluminum alloy.
[0026] Being made of one material, the protective screen 5 allows, on its own and without additional parts, to fulfill the protective function while allowing ventilation of the fan motor 40.
[0027] The aluminum alloy has the particular advantage of protecting the electronic components of the propeller propulsion motor 40 from electromagnetic disturbances.
[0028] The protective screen 5 directly covers the motor housing 4. It is thus understood that between the protective screen 5 and the motor 40, there are no interposed elements.
[0029] The protective screen 7, in order to function properly, requires that the fan motor 40 be completely or almost completely protected.
[0030] The at least one opening 6 is arranged axially to the axis of rotation X of the ventilation propeller.
[0031] According to an alternative not illustrated in the figures, the at least one opening 6 is arranged radially to the axis of rotation X of the ventilation propeller.
[0032] As is clearly visible in Figures 2 and 3, the protection means 7 are arranged opposite the opening 6 and from a border 72 linked to the opening 6.
[0033] The protection means 7 extend in a direction opposite to the motor housing 4.
[0034] Alternatively and in a manner not illustrated in the figures, the protection means 7 extend towards the motor housing 4.
