Description

Title of the invention: ASSEMBLY OF A COVER BY BONDING TO A DOOR LINING OF A VEHICLE AUTOMOBILE Technical field

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of motor vehicles, more particularly the field of the structure of motor vehicles. Prior art

[0002] The doors of motor vehicles comprise an outer wall and a sheet metal lining usually requiring a covering ensuring a seal with respect to the passenger compartment. Conventionally, the covering corresponds to a sealing cover formed from a sheet of waterproof material mounted on an opening of the lining, by means of a bead of glue which is put under pressure, generally by an external means, until the sealing cover is finally bonded to the corresponding surface of the lining.

[0003] Although the known solutions for assembling waterproofing panels involving the use of glue are effective from a waterproofing point of view, they are however less economical and time-consuming because they require an operation of pressurizing the bead of glue before obtaining a definitive bond.

[0004] Published patent document KR 10 2007 0087973 A discloses a sealing cover for covering an opening in a lining of a motor vehicle door, the cover comprising a screw connected to the body of the cover by a rod, said screw being intended to fix the cover to the lining.

[0005] However, the screw mounting proposed by the document may prove less effective than a glue mounting. Statement of the invention

[0006] The present invention aims to overcome at least one of the drawbacks of the aforementioned state of the art. More particularly, the invention aims to propose a simple and economical solution for quickly assembling a cover on a panel, while guaranteeing sealing.

[0007] To this end, the invention relates to an assembly comprising: - a panel comprising an opening with an inner peripheral edge; - a cover for closing the opening, comprising an outer peripheral edge fixed against the inner peripheral edge by means of a bead of glue; remarkable in that one of the inner peripheral edge and the outer peripheral edge includes a groove configured to engage with the other of the outer peripheral edge inner spherical and outer peripheral edge, so as to ensure pressure on the glue bead when assembling the cover on the panel.

[0008] According to one embodiment, the groove has a shoulder forming a retaining surface for the other of the inner peripheral edge and the outer peripheral edge, ensuring the pressure of the bead of glue.

[0009] According to one embodiment, the other of the inner peripheral edge and the outer peripheral edge has a curved end forming a rounded engagement surface with the groove.

[0010] According to one embodiment, the curved end is curved at an angle of between 70° and 110° relative to a mean plane of the cover and the panel.

[0011] According to one embodiment, the peripheral edge comprising the groove further comprises a surface for receiving the bead of glue and the other of the inner peripheral edge and the outer peripheral edge, opposite the retaining surface.

[0012] According to one embodiment, the receiving surface extends beyond the retaining surface towards the outside of the groove.

[0013] According to one embodiment, the receiving surface is formed by an end portion of the corresponding peripheral edge, inclined towards the retaining surface so as to deform elastically during assembly of the cover on the panel and allow the engagement of the inner and outer peripheral edges.

[0014] According to one embodiment, the peripheral edge comprising the groove is the outer peripheral edge.

[0015] According to one embodiment, the panel is a motor vehicle door lining.

[0016] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising an assembly of a panel comprising an opening, forming a body lining, and a cover closing the opening, remarkable in that the assembly is according to the invention.

[0017] The measures of the invention are advantageous in that the engagement of the peripheral edges of the cover and the panel makes it possible to effectively press the bead of glue and thus ensure sealing without requiring pressure to be applied by an operator or by an external tool, which remains necessary for the bonding solutions known from the state of the art.

[0018] To this end, the assembly of the invention includes a significant economic advantage linked to a reduction in the assembly time of the covers on the panels, thus making it possible to considerably reduce the assembly times of motor vehicles. Brief description of the drawings

[0019] [Fig-1] represents a door of a motor vehicle according to the invention, comprising a panel forming a door lining comprising an opening closed by means of a cover guaranteeing watertightness;

[0020] [Fig.2] schematically illustrates a sectional view along the axis AA of [Fig.l], when the cover is in an undeformed state, prior to engagement of said cover with the opening of the panel;

[0021] [Fig.3] schematically illustrates a sectional view along the axis AA of [Fig.l], when the cover is in a deformed state after the engagement of said cover with the opening of the panel. Detailed description

[0022] [Fig. 1] represents a door 4 of a motor vehicle 2 according to the invention, comprising a panel 6 forming a door lining 6 fixed with an outer wall 8. The lining 6 comprises an opening closed by means of a cover 10 guaranteeing sealing.

[0023] Advantageously, the cover 10 for closing the opening is formed from a deformable material capable of engaging by clipping with an inner peripheral edge of the lining 6. This engagement will be detailed according to figures 2 and 3.

[0024] [Fig. 2] schematically illustrates a sectional view along the axis AA of [Fig. 1], when the cover 10 is in a non-deformed state, prior to engagement of said cover 10 with the opening 12 of the panel 6.

[0025] Here, the opening 12 is partially shown, and the lining 6 is illustrated in dotted lines because the cover is shown in its initial form before the latter is mounted on the lining 6 to close the opening 12.

[0026] Preferably, the cover 10 comprises an outer peripheral edge 10.1 provided, at an end portion of said edge 10.1, with a receiving surface 10.2 for a bead of glue 14 intended to ensure the final bonding of the cover to the inner peripheral edge 6.1 of the lining 6.

[0027] The cover 10 further comprises a groove 10.3 configured to engage with the inner peripheral edge 6.1 of the liner 6.

[0028] In the illustrated configuration, the receiving surface 10.2 is inclined towards the groove 10.3 so as to deform elastically during assembly of the cover 10 on the lining 6 and allow the engagement of the inner peripheral edges 6.1 and outer 10.1.

[0029] Preferably, the inclination of the receiving surface 10.2 is represented by an angle a between said surface 10.2 and a mean plane P parallel and / or coplanar to the lining 6. The angle a is preferably between 5° and 20°, and is more preferably equal to approximately 10°.

[0030] Advantageously, the inclination of the receiving surface 10.2 allows the de elastic formation of the end portion of the outer peripheral edge 10.1 in order to press the bead of glue 14 onto the lining 6, as can be seen in [Fig.3], which this time illustrates the cover 10 in a deformed state after its engagement with the opening 12 of the panel 6.

[0031] With reference to [Fig. 3], the groove 10.3 of the cover 10 is engaged by clipping with the lining 6, and the bead of glue 14 is pressed against said lining 6 thanks to this engagement which causes the end portion of the edge 10.1 to deform to bring the receiving surface 10.2 opposite the lining 6.

[0032] Preferably, the groove 10.3 has a shoulder forming a retaining surface 10.4 opposite the receiving surface 10.2. The latter extends beyond the retaining surface 10.4 towards the outside of the groove (along the Z axis).

[0033] The retaining surface 10.4 is capable of contacting a curved end 6.2 forming a rounded engagement surface of the inner peripheral edge 6.1. The end 6.2 is curved, preferably at an angle [3 of between 70° and 110° relative to the mean plane P of the cover 10 and the liner 6.

[0034] Advantageously, the elastic return of the material between the retaining face 10.4 and the end portion of the outer peripheral edge 10.1 makes it possible to effectively press the bead of glue 14 and thus ensure sealing without requiring pressure application by an external tool as required by the known bonding solutions of the state of the art. To this end, the assembly of the invention includes a significant economic advantage linked to a reduction in the assembly time of motor vehicles.

[0035] Alternatively, and with reference to Figures 2 and 3, the element 6 may correspond to the cover, and the element 10 may correspond to the lining. In such a configuration, the lining comprises the groove 10.3 and the cover may engage by clipping by means of its rounded end 6.2 with said 10.3. This time, it is the element 6 which is able to deform elastically to compress the bead of glue 14 against the surface 10.2 of the lining.

[0036] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited solely to an automotive application. Indeed, the cover of the assembly according to the invention is configured to close the opening on different panels which can be provided for other uses.
