Description

Title of the invention: SYSTEM FOR MOUNTING AN ELECTRIC CABLE UNDER A MOTOR VEHICLE BODY

[0001] The invention relates to a system for mounting an electric cable under a motor vehicle body and a flange of such a system.

[0002] It is known to implement a system for mounting an electric cable under a motor vehicle body, said system comprising: - on the one hand a temporary positioning tray for elements intended to be mounted under said body by moving said tray against said body, said tray having a face for receiving said elements, said tray being provided with a pair of rods projecting from said face, - on the other hand a flange made of molded plastic material, said flange being provided with two orifices for receiving each of said rods in order to index the position of said flange on said plate, said flange being further provided with a chute, intended to receive at least one electric cable, and at least one mounting orifice intended to receive a screw coming from said box for the purpose of fixing by a nut of said flange under said box.

[0003] The use of such a tray is known to allow the mounting of various elements - such as a running gear, an engine, a battery, an electric cable, etc. - below a motor vehicle body.

[0004] The various elements are positioned on the plate and locked in nominal position by indexing means such as rods coming from said plate.

[0005] The tray is then moved against the body to allow the various elements to be positioned on said body and fixed.

[0006] The heaviest elements are generally fixed by screwing, which is done automatically while the tray is still applied against the body.

[0007] As for the lightest elements, they are generally held on the body by temporary holding means, in particular by interlocking, then fixed by manual screwing once the tray is removed from said body.

[0008] In the case of a lightweight element such as an electric cable fixing clamp, it is known to mount said clamp with said cable fixed thereon.

[0009] Since the cable generally has little flexibility, it can be difficult to keep the flange in place on the plate, said cable being able to exert a force tending to move it out of its nominal position.

[0010] The aim of the invention is to propose an arrangement making it possible to overcome this in- convenient.

[0011] To this end, the invention proposes a system for mounting an electric cable under a motor vehicle body, said system comprising: - on the one hand a temporary positioning tray for elements intended to be mounted under said body by moving said tray against said body, said tray having a face for receiving said elements, said tray being provided with a pair of rods projecting from said face, - on the other hand a flange made of molded plastic material, said flange being provided with two orifices for receiving each of said rods in order to index the position of said flange on said plate, said flange being further provided with a chute, intended to receive at least one electric cable, and at least one mounting orifice intended to receive a screw from said box for the purpose of fixing by a nut of said flange under said box, said receiving orifices being provided with deformable strips resulting from molding, said strips projecting radially towards the inside of said receiving orifices so as to allow a tight hold of said rods in said receiving orifices to block the position of said flange on said plate.

[0012] It is specified here that, throughout the description, the terms “axially” and "radially" are taken in reference to the axis of extension of a rod.

[0013] With the proposed arrangement, as explained above, the blades projecting radially towards the inside of the receiving orifices allow the rods to be held tightly in said receiving orifices to lock the position of the flange on the plate.

[0014] Furthermore, the provision of two receiving orifices each cooperating with a rod makes it possible to lock the flange in rotation on the plate.

[0015] According to one embodiment, a mounting orifice has a truncated internal shape intended to guide the insertion of the screw coming from the body during the mounting of the flange under said body.

[0016] According to one embodiment, the flange is provided with two mounting holes each intended to receive a screw from the body, which makes it possible to improve the robustness of the fixing of said flange.

[0017] According to one embodiment, the system further comprises at least one clamping collar surrounding the trunking in order to ensure that a cable is held in said trunking.

[0018] According to one embodiment, a rod is mounted on the plate in an axially retractable manner, so as to allow its removal from the receiving orifice after insertion of the screw into the mounting orifice.

[0019] This avoids the risk of the flange returning with the plate being removed from the body in the event of a nut being screwed on subsequently, the mounting hole being moreover sized to allow the screw to be held in tight contact in said mounting hole, and thus ensure that said flange is held on said body while waiting for the nut to be screwed on.

[0020] The invention also relates to a flange of such a system, said flange being made of molded plastic material, said flange being provided with two receiving orifices intended to receive rods for indexing its position, said flange being further provided with a chute, intended to receive at least one electric cable, and at least one mounting orifice intended to receive a screw coming from said box, said receiving orifices being provided with deformable strips resulting from molding, said strips projecting radially towards the inside of said receiving orifices in order to allow said rods to be held tightly in said receiving orifices.

[0021] The invention will be further detailed by the description of non-limiting embodiments, and on the basis of the appended figures illustrating variants of the invention, in which: [Fig.l] is a partial schematic representation in section of a mounting system and a part of a motor vehicle body according to one embodiment, the plate being arranged against said body to ensure the mounting of the flange, [Fig.2] is a schematic perspective representation of a flange according to one embodiment.

[0022] A system 1 for mounting an electric cable 2 under a motor vehicle body is now described with reference to the figures, said system comprising: - on the one hand a tray 3 for temporarily positioning elements intended to be mounted under said body by moving said tray against said body, said tray having a receiving face 4 for said elements, said tray being provided with a pair of rods 5 (only one being shown in [Fig.l]) projecting - here perpendicularly - from said face, - on the other hand a flange 6 made of molded plastic material - for example made of loaded polyamide -, said flange being provided with two receiving orifices 7 for each of said rods in order to index the position of said flange on said plate, said flange being further provided with a chute 8, intended to receive at least one electric cable 2, and at least one mounting orifice 9 intended to receive a screw 10 coming from said box for the purpose of fixing by a nut, not shown, of said flange under said box, said receiving orifices being provided with deformable strips 11 resulting from molding, said strips projecting radially towards the inside of said receiving orifices so as to allow a tight hold of said rods in said receiving orifices to block the position of said flange on said plate.

[0023] According to the embodiment shown, a mounting orifice 9 has an internal shape truncated cone intended to guide the insertion of the screw 10 coming from the box during the assembly of the flange 6 under said box.

[0024] According to the embodiment shown in [Fig.2], the flange 6 is provided with two mounting holes 9 intended to each receive a screw 10 coming from the body.

[0025] According to the embodiment shown, the system 1 further comprises at least one clamping collar 12 surrounding the trunking 8 in order to ensure the maintenance of a cable 2 in said trunking.

[0026] According to an embodiment not illustrated, a rod 5 is mounted on the plate 3 in an axially retractable manner, so as to allow its removal from the receiving orifice 7 after insertion of the screw 10 into the mounting orifice 9.

[0027] Finally, a flange 6 of such a system 1 is described, said flange being made of molded plastic material, said flange being provided with two receiving orifices 7 intended to receive rods 5 for indexing its position, said flange being further provided with a chute 8, intended to receive at least one electric cable 2, and at least one mounting orifice 9 intended to receive a screw 10 coming from said box, said receiving orifices being provided with deformable strips 11 resulting from molding, said strips projecting radially towards the inside of said receiving orifices in order to allow said rods to be held tightly in said receiving orifices.
