Description

Title of the invention: Packaging device with remote clamping zone, and associated assembly method

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic product packaging device comprising a main body and a dispensing tip, the main body having a neck delimiting an opening in which the dispensing tip is arranged, the main body having a distal end, the distal end forming a free edge of the neck, the dispensing tip being inserted into the neck, so that the packaging device has a clamping zone in which the tip exerts a radial force on the neck.

[0002] By packaging device is meant any packaging which allows the sale, transport, protection and storage of the product it contains.

[0003] A cosmetic product is advantageously a product as defined in Regulation EC No. 1223 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, dated November 30, 2009, relating to cosmetic products.

[0004] The product contained in the device according to the invention is, for example, a makeup product, such as a foundation, or a cream or serum for treating the surface of the epidermis.

[0005] The production of such a packaging device is known, in which the main body is made of copolyester, in particular a semi-aromatic copolyester, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and the tip is made of a more resilient material, for example polyolefin, such as polyethylene (PE).

[0006] In such a device of the state of the art, the clamping zone between the tip and the main body is located at the free edge of the neck.

[0007] The clamping area allows for fixing and sealing between the tip and the main body.

[0008] The more resilient material allows the force to be absorbed in the clamping zone, which is arranged at the distal end. Thus, the force is not transmitted to the constituent material of the main body at the neck.

[0009] However, the use of a polyolefin type material for the tip complicates possible recycling, at least partially, of the packaging device.

[0010] The proposal of eco-responsible, environmentally friendly solutions whose design and development take into account environmental issues is becoming a major concern to help meet global challenges.

[0011] It is therefore essential to design more durable products, thus making it possible to reduce the quantity of materials used and / or to replace them with more durable materials. environmentally conscious and / or use recyclable materials to reduce the product's carbon footprint.

[0012] In this context, it is important to offer recyclable packaging containing in particular separable elements and / or made up of a minimum of materials and / or free from materials that are difficult to recycle in order to facilitate their end of life.

[0013] Thus, it is necessary to develop packaging made from environmentally friendly recyclable materials to enable the re-use of packaging at the end of its life and avoid pollution of recycling channels.

[0014] The aim of the invention is then to propose a device for packaging a cosmetic product, offering the possibility of providing better recyclability of the device, while preserving the integrity and reliability of the sealed assembly between the tip and the main body.

[0015] For this purpose, the invention relates to a packaging device as described above, in which the distance between the clamping zone and the distal end is greater than or equal to a quarter of the internal diameter of the neck in the clamping zone, preferably greater than or equal to a third of the internal diameter of the neck in the clamping zone, the tip not exerting any radial force on the neck, neither between the clamping zone and the distal end, nor on the distal end.

[0016] By moving the clamping zone away from the free edge, this makes it possible to limit the forces applied to the neck near the free edge, which is a relatively fragile area. The minimum distance provided between the clamping zone and the free edge is particularly relevant with regard to moving the forces away from the fragile area, taking into account the curvature of the neck.

[0017] Thus, this offers, for example, the possibility of using the same material, for example PET, for the main body and the end piece. Using the same material facilitates recycling. However, by using the same material, the material of the end piece no longer has additional resilience, compared to the neck, so that it no longer absorbs the radial clamping force existing between the end piece and the main body to ensure a reliable and sealed assembly of these elements, a radial force which is then reflected on the neck. With a clamping zone located at the free edge of the main body, this is likely to cause a flaring of the free edge, possibly resulting in the appearance of crack(s).Such a phenomenon of flaring, or even cracking of the neck of the main body, is moreover all the more likely to occur if the cosmetic product contained within the main body and intended to be dispensed through the nozzle contains alcohol or a branched higher alkane, such as isododecane. Thus, by providing a clamping zone at the intended distance from the free edge, the radial clamping forces are exerted on the neck at a distance from the relatively fragile zone, a relatively fragile zone which is located close to the free edge, this . which greatly reduces the risk of flaring, and thus of cracking, even when the tip and the main body are made of the same material, for example PET, which is a particularly easily recyclable material worldwide.

[0018] In the case where the internal diameter of the neck is not constant in the axial portion in which the clamping zone extends, the distance between the clamping zone and the distal end is greater than or equal to a quarter of the minimum internal diameter in the clamping zone, preferably greater than or equal to a third of the minimum internal diameter in the clamping zone.

[0019] According to other advantageous aspects of the invention, the packaging device comprises one or more of the following characteristics, taken individually or in all technically possible combinations:

[0020] - the main body and the dispensing tip are made of the same material, more particularly in polyethylene terephthalate (PET);

[0021] This improves the recyclability of the packaging device as such. Indeed, since the tip and the main body are made of the same material, these two constituent elements of the packaging device can be placed in the same recycling channel, in particular without requiring a prior disassembly operation. PET is also an easily and widely recyclable material. Furthermore, PET offers a Young's modulus greater than 1.5 GPa, is transparent and is sufficiently strong to form a main body containing the cosmetic product, which maintains its shape with a conventional thickness (except in the case of a deformable portion specifically designed to deform).Furthermore, the use of PET to form the main body and the tip is particularly advantageous because this material has good compatibility with a wide range of cosmetic products intended to be contained within the main body and intended to be dispensed through the tip.

[0022] - the neck has a thickness in the clamping area, the distance between the clamping area clamping and the distal end being greater than or equal to twice the thickness of the neck in the clamping area;

[0023] Such a distance is also suitable for reducing the radial forces applied to the relatively fragile area located near the free edge of the neck.

[0024] - the dispensing tip and the neck do not have radial contact between the area of clamping and the distal end and at the distal end;

[0025] Thus, in the absence of radial contact, the dispensing tip does not apply radial force to the neck between the clamping zone and the free edge, nor at the free edge.

[0026] - the dispensing tip has a circumferential relief on an outer surface at the clamping area and / or the neck has a circumferential relief on an inner surface at the clamping area;

[0027] The circumferential relief allows the establishment of a radial clamping force by force insertion between the tip and the main body.

[0028] - the dispensing tip has a circumferential relief on a surface ex inner, the circumferential relief cooperating with a clamping portion of an inner surface of the neck in the clamping zone, so that the circumferential relief presses against said clamping portion of the inner surface;

[0029] The circumferential relief against the clamping portion allows the establishment of a radial clamping force by forcefully inserting the tip into the opening, and furthermore, in this case, a seal.

[0030] - the inner surface of the neck has a snap-in relief between the end distal and the clamping portion, the inner diameter of the neck at the level of the snap-on relief being strictly less than the outer diameter of the dispensing tip at the level of the circumferential relief;

[0031] This allows the tip to be snapped into the neck, i.e. the snap relief forms an axial stop preventing unintentional disengagement of the tip from the main body.

[0032] - the main body has a shoulder, the neck extending between the shoulder and the distal end, the distance between the clamping zone and the distal end is greater than or equal to one third of the longitudinal distance between the shoulder and the distal end.

[0033] Such a distance is also suitable for reducing the radial forces applied to the relatively fragile zone located near the free edge of the neck.

[0034] The invention further relates to a method of assembling a packaging device as previously described, comprising the following steps:

[0035] - providing a main body, the main body having a neck delimiting a opening, the main body having a distal end, the distal end forming a free edge of the neck,

[0036] - provision of a dispensing tip, and

[0037] - forcibly inserting the dispensing tip into the neck, so that the tip dispensing nozzle is arranged in the opening and until the dispensing nozzle and the main body cooperate in a clamping zone in which the dispensing nozzle exerts a radial force on the neck, wherein the distance between the clamping zone and the distal end is greater than or equal to one quarter of the inner diameter of the neck in the clamping zone, preferably greater than or equal to one third of the inner diameter of the neck in the clamping zone, the dispensing nozzle exerting no radial force on the neck either between the clamping zone and the distal end or on the distal end.

[0038] This assembly method may further have the following characteristic:

[0039] - when inserting the dispensing tip into the neck, the circumferential relief exceeds the snap relief, so that after insertion, the snap relief extends between the circumferential relief and the distal end.

[0040] The invention will appear more clearly on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the drawings in which:

[0041] [Fig-1] [Fig.l] is a partial sectional view of a packaging device according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention,

[0042] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is an enlarged view of frame A of [Fig.l], and

[0043] [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a partial sectional view of a packaging device according to a second exemplary embodiment of the invention.

[0044] An example of a cosmetic product packaging device 10 according to the invention is partially shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.

[0045] The packaging device 10 comprises a main body 12 and a dispensing nozzle 14.

[0046] The main body 12 is adapted to contain the cosmetic product.

[0047] The main body 12 delimits a receiving volume 16 of the cosmetic product.

[0048] The main body 12 comprises a side wall 18 at least partially delimiting the receiving volume 16.

[0049] The main body 12 here extends mainly along a main axis X.

[0050] The side wall 18 has, for example, a rotational symmetry around the main axis X.

[0051] Alternatively, the side wall 18 extends around the main axis X, each section of the side wall perpendicular to the main axis X having a shape. The shape is, for example, an oval, a square or any polygon.

[0052] The main body 12 has a neck 20 delimiting an opening 22.

[0053] The opening 22 forms an outlet for the cosmetic product containing in the body main 12, more particularly in the reception volume 16.

[0054] The main body 12 has a distal end 24, more particularly here along the main axis X.

[0055] The distal end 24 forms a free edge of the neck 20.

[0056] The neck 20 has an inner surface 26, and here an outer surface 28.

[0057] The inner surface 26 and the outer surface 28 are here delimited by the same wall, here surrounding the main axis X.

[0058] The neck 20 extends around the main axis X.

[0059] The opening 22 extends along the main axis X.

[0060] More particularly, the neck 20 has a rotational symmetry around the main axis X.

[0061] The neck 20 here has an internal diameter, defined at the level of the internal surface 26, for any plane perpendicular to the main axis X passing through the distal end 24.

[0062] The inner surface 26 of the neck 20 has a clamping portion 30.

[0063] The clamping portion 30 is adapted such that, when the tip 14 is inserted into the neck 20, then the tip 14 exerts a radial force on the clamping portion 30.

[0064] More particularly, the opening 22 has a reduced passage section at the level of the clamping portion 30 compared to the passage section between the distal end 24 and the clamping portion 30 (excluded), with the exception of a possible snap-fastening relief, as described below, where applicable.

[0065] More particularly here, the neck 20 has an internal diameter, defined at the level of the internal surface 26, measured at any point of the clamping portion 30 strictly less than the internal diameter of the neck 20 between the distal end 24 and the clamping portion 30 (excluded), with the exception of a possible snap-fastening relief, as described below, where applicable.

[0066] The clamping portion 30 of the neck 20 here has a circumferential relief.

[0067] The inner surface 26 of the neck 20 here also has a snap-in relief 32. between the distal end 24 and the clamping portion 30.

[0068] More particularly, the opening 22 has a reduced passage section at the level of the snap-fastening relief 32 compared to the passage section at the level of the clamping portion 30.

[0069] More particularly here, the neck 20 has an internal diameter measured at any point of the snap-fastening relief 32 strictly less than the internal diameter of the neck 20 in the clamping portion 30.

[0070] The snap-in relief 32 extends over a circumference of the inner surface 26 of the neck 20.

[0071] The snap-in relief 32 is, for example, a relief extending over the entire circumference.

[0072] Alternatively, the snap-in relief 32 comprises a plurality of reliefs distributed over the entire circumference.

[0073] The snap-in relief 32 here has a shape to allow the passage of a relief, here the circumferential relief 44 described below, from the distal end towards the clamping zone 30 and to block said relief in the opposite direction.

[0074] The snap-in relief 32 has two edges arranged on either side in the direction of the main axis.

[0075] The snap-in relief 32 has, for example, a height increasing more gradually on its edge closest to the distal end 24 than on its other edge.

[0076] The snap-in relief 32 is, for example, here adjacent to the clamping portion 30.

[0077] Here, the internal diameter of the neck 20 decreases from the clamping portion 30 to the snap-on relief 32, then increases to one or more values strictly greater than the internal diameter of the neck in the clamping portion 30.

[0078] Alternatively, the snap-in relief 32 extends at any other location between the clamping portion 30 and the distal end 24.

[0079] In an alternative embodiment, the inner diameter of the neck 20 at the clamping portion 30 is, for example, substantially equal to the inner diameter of the neck 20 in an area between the clamping portion (excluded) and the distal end 24, more particularly between the snap-fastening relief 32 (excluded) and the distal end 24.

[0080] In the example shown, the main body 12 has a shoulder 34, the neck 20 extending between the shoulder 34 and the distal end 24.

[0081] Alternatively, the neck 20 extends in the extension of the main body 12, the neck 20 being aligned with the side wall 18 along the main axis X.

[0082] The neck 20 has a thickness e in the clamping portion 30.

[0083] The thickness e corresponds to the distance between the inner surface 26 and the outer surface 28 of the neck 20 in the clamping portion 30.

[0084] If said distance is variable in the clamping portion 30, the thickness e is equal to the average distance between the inner surface 26 and the outer surface 28 of the neck 20 in the clamping portion 30.

[0085] The thickness e is considered excluding any possible assembly thread to a hood, if applicable.

[0086] The inner diameter D of the neck 20 is further defined in the clamping portion 30.

[0087] If the inner diameter of the neck varies in the clamping portion 30, then the inner diameter D corresponds to the minimum inner diameter in the clamping portion 30.

[0088] The dispensing tip 14 is arranged in the opening 22 delimited by the neck 20.

[0089] The dispensing tip 14 here has a through passage 36, to allow the cosmetic product to exit.

[0090] More particularly, the end piece 14 closes the opening 22 with the exception of the passage 36.

[0091] The end piece 14 here comprises a cooperation portion 38 adapted to be inserted into the opening 22 to allow the end piece 14 to be held in the neck 20 of the main body 12.

[0092] The end piece 14, more particularly the cooperation portion 38, has a geometry adapted to cooperate with the opening 22.

[0093] The end piece 14 has, for example, a rotational symmetry around an axis, here coincident with the main axis X when the end piece 14 is inserted into the main body 12.

[0094] The dispensing tip 14 is made of the same material as the main body. 12, more particularly here in polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

[0095] The dispensing tip 14 has an outer surface 40, and here also an inner surface 42.

[0096] The inner surface 42 delimits the passage 36.

[0097] The outer surface 40 and the inner surface 42 are delimited by the same wall.

[0098] The outer surface 40 extends partially opposite the inner surface 26 of the neck 20. More particularly, in the cooperation potion 38, the outer surface 40 extends opposite the inner surface 26 of the neck 20.

[0099] The dispensing tip 14 has a circumferential relief 44 on the outer surface 40.

[0100] The circumferential relief 44 is arranged such that and provided so that, when the tip 14 is inserted into the neck 20, the circumferential relief 44 cooperates with the clamping portion 30.

[0101] The outer diameter of the dispensing tip 14, defined at the level of the outer surface 40, measured at the level of the circumferential relief is strictly greater than the inner diameter of the neck 20 at the level of the circumferential relief by a clamping distance, for example between 0.05 mm and 0.15 mm, and in particular 0.1 mm.

[0102] The external diameter of the dispensing tip 14, defined at the level of the external surface 40, measured at the level of the circumferential relief is strictly greater than the internal diameter of the neck 20 at the level of the snap-on relief 32, where appropriate, for example by a distance of between 0.17 mm and 0.27 mm, in particular 0.22 mm.

[0103] The dispensing tip 14 is inserted into the neck 20, so that the packaging device 10 has a clamping zone 46 in which the tip 14 exerts a radial force on the neck 20, more particularly over the entire periphery of the neck 20.

[0104] The clamping zone 46 here allows a seal between the end piece 14 and the main body 12 when the end piece 14 is inserted into the neck 20.

[0105] In the clamping zone 46, the outer surface 40 of the dispensing tip 14 cooperates with the inner surface 26 of the neck 20, so that the dispensing tip 14 exerts a radial force against the neck 20.

[0106] The radial force here allows sealing between the distribution tip 14 and the main body 12.

[0107] The clamping zone 46 here comprises, more particularly, the circumferential relief 44, and in addition the clamping portion 30.

[0108] The distance d between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24 is greater than or equal to a quarter of the internal diameter D of the neck 20 in the clamping zone 46, corresponding to the internal diameter D of the neck in the clamping portion 30, more particu slightly greater than or equal to one third of the internal diameter D in the clamping zone 46.

[0109] The distance d is measured in an axial direction, corresponding here to the direction of the main axis X between the distal end 24 of the neck 20 and an axial end of the clamping zone 46 located closest to the distal end 24. In other words, the distance d corresponds to the minimum axial distance, measured along the main axis, separating the clamping zone 46 from the distal end 24 of the neck 20.

[0110] The circumferential relief 44 cooperates with the clamping portion 30 in the clamping zone 46, so that the circumferential relief 44 presses against said clamping portion 30, more particularly radially.

[0111] The tip 14 does not exert any radial force on the neck 20 between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24 or on the distal end 24.

[0112] The tip 14 does not exert any force on the neck 20 between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24, the clamping zone and the distal end excluded.

[0113] More particularly here, the dispensing tip 14 and the neck 20 do not have radial contact between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24, the clamping zone excluded, or on the distal end 24.

[0114] More particularly here, the dispensing tip 14 and the neck 20 have no contact between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24, the clamping zone and the distal end excluded.

[0115] More particularly here, the dispensing tip 14 bears purely axially on the distal end 24 of the neck 20 by means of a front bearing surface 15 provided for example on a bearing collar. Preferably, the front bearing surface 15 of the dispensing tip 14 exerts a purely axial force on the distal end 24 of the neck 20 when the dispensing tip 14 is fixed on the neck 20 of the main body 12, so in particular that the tip is under tension in its axial portion extending between the front bearing surface 15 and the circumferential relief 44.

[0116] The internal diameter of the neck 20 at the level of the lower surface 26, at any point between the clamping zone and the distal end outside the clamping zone, is here strictly greater than the external diameter of the external surface 40 of the tip 14 opposite said point, when the tip 14 is inserted into the neck 20.

[0117] Here, the distance d between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24 is, for example, furthermore, greater than or equal to twice the thickness e of the neck in the clamping zone 46, corresponding to the thickness e of the neck in the clamping portion 30.

[0118] Here, the distance d between the clamping zone 46 and the distal end 24 is, for example, furthermore, greater than or equal to one third of the longitudinal distance, in the axial direction, between the shoulder 34 and the distal end 24.

[0119] The packaging device further comprises a cover 48.

[0120] The cover 48 is here capable of being snapped directly onto the neck 20.

[0121] A method of assembling a packaging device 10 according to the invention will now be described.

[0122] The assembly process comprises the following steps:

[0123] - provision of a main body 12 as described previously,

[0124] - provision of a dispensing tip 14 as described previously, and

[0125] - forceful insertion of the dispensing tip 14 into the neck 20, for example by a translational movement along the main axis X.

[0126] The insertion is carried out so that the dispensing tip 14 is inserted into the opening and until the dispensing tip 14 and the main body 12 cooperate in the clamping zone 46, more particularly in a sealed manner.

[0127] More particularly, the insertion is carried out until the circumferential relief 44 and the clamping portion 30 cooperate.

[0128] After insertion, the dispensing tip 14 does not exert any radial force on the neck 20 between the clamping zone 46 (excluded) and the distal end 24. More particularly here, the dispensing tip does not exert any radial force on the neck 20 outside the clamping zone 46.

[0129] In the example shown, when inserting the dispensing tip 14 into the neck 20, the circumferential relief 44 exceeds the snap-in relief 32, so that after insertion, the snap-in relief 32 extends between the circumferential relief 44 and the distal end 24.

[0130] The snap-in relief 32 here prevents disengagement of the end piece 14 and the main body 12, in addition to the radial clamping existing between these two elements in the clamping zone 46.

[0131] The snap-in relief 32 here extends adjacent to the circumferential relief 44, so that the circumferential relief 44 is in axial abutment against the snap-in relief 32.

[0132] The passage of the snap-in relief 32 here indicates that the tip 14 is inserted until the outer surface 40 of the dispensing tip 14 cooperates with the inner surface 26 of the neck 20 in the clamping zone 46.

[0133] In an alternative embodiment not shown, the tip does not have a circumferential relief on its outer surface at the clamping zone, the neck comprising a circumferential relief on its inner surface at the clamping zone, so that the outer surface of the dispensing tip cooperates with the inner surface of the neck in the clamping zone, and the dispensing tip exerts a radial force against the neck.

[0134] In an embodiment not shown, the snap-fastening is carried out differently, for example using at least one deformable tab.

[0135] Alternatively, the packaging device does not have a snap-on system.

[0136] A second example of a packaging device is shown in [Fig.3].

[0137] Only the points in which this second example differs from the first example will now be described.

[0138] The packaging device 110 here comprises, similarly to the first example, a main body 112, an end piece 114, and furthermore here a cover 148.

[0139] The cover 148 is here capable of being screwed onto the neck 120 of the main body 112, and not snapped on.

[0140] The neck 120 has, for example, on its outer wall a thread 150, complementary to a tapping of the cover 148.

[0141] In the cosmetic product packaging device according to the invention, the clamping zone is at a distance from the free edge, so that the forces applied to the neck near the free edge are limited.

[0142] This therefore limits the risk of the free edge flaring, or even crack(s), even for a packaging device made from a single material, more particularly PET.
