Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: System for holding a movable leaf Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of leaf closures, in particular devices for locking a leaf in the open position. It is particularly applicable to hinged shutters. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] In the field of joinery, there are numerous devices for holding a leaf in position against a wall, for example against a wall, the leaf making it possible to obstruct an opening in a wall where, for example, a window is located.
[0003] There are technical solutions for holding devices for holding the leaf fixed relative to the wall and for which the locking control is directly accessible from the opening. These holding devices generally comprise a blocking portion configured to cooperate by wedging with a latch fixed relative to the wall. The cooperation between the blocking portion and the latch being controlled via a transmission member having a length adjusted to the dimension of the leaf.
[0004] These types of devices have the disadvantage of having to provide a holding device whose length of the transmission member depends on the dimensions of the leaf and the positioning of the latch. This requires the production of custom-made equipment which can be expensive.
[0005] In order to address this problem, document FR3129966A1, illustrated in [Fig.l] provides a device comprising a portion fixed to the leaf and a movable portion, the movable portion being able to be adapted easily and less expensively to any leaf dimension.
[0006] However, this type of device has the disadvantage of having to drill several holes in the leaf itself to be installed. Installing such a device involves potential damage to the leaf and therefore poor operation of the device.
[0007] An object of the present invention is therefore to propose an optimization of a system making it possible to maintain a fixed leaf relative to the wall.
[0008] Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description and accompanying drawings. It is understood that other advantages may be incorporated. SUMMARY
[0009] To achieve this objective, according to a first aspect, a system is provided for holding a movable leaf relative to a frame, the system comprising a hinge comprising at least a first through hole, preferably at least a first and a second through hole, capable of receiving a first fixing element so as to fix the hinge to a leaf, and a holding device comprising a fixed portion capable of being fixed to a leaf, and a movable portion, the movable portion comprising: • a control portion comprising a transmission member extending in a main direction of extension, • a locking portion integral in movement with the control portion so that the locking portion is controlled in movement by the control portion, the locking portion being configured, in a locking configuration, to prevent a leaf from moving relative to a frame, and the control portion being able to be actuated manually so as to move the holding device from the locking configuration to a configuration for unlocking a leaf relative to a frame, characterized in that the holding device is positioned on one face of the hinge and in that the holding device comprises at least one through opening located in correspondence with the first through hole so as to jointly fix the hinge and the device by the first fixing element on a leaf.
[0010] Thus, the system can be installed easily and without additional drilling of a leaf. Indeed, the use of pre-existing holes of a hinge in order to fix the holding device makes it possible to avoid unnecessary damage to a leaf. In addition, installation on a hinge having already existing characteristics makes it possible to limit the cost, time and complexity of the system installation operation. Finally, this system can be provided on the window installation already in place by reusing the holes of the hinges already in place without having to buy new hinges for existing shutters.
[0011] According to another aspect, a method is provided for fixing the system to a leaf having a transverse dimension, comprising: • positioning of a hinge on a leaf, the hinge extending along the transverse dimension of a leaf and having at least one through hole, • an alignment of at least one through opening of the holding device with the at least one through hole of the hinge, the holding device having its extension dimension parallel to the transverse dimension of a leaf, • fixing of the holding device and the hinge via the same fixing element configured so as to jointly fix the device and the hinge to a leaf.
[0012] Thus, the installation process is facilitated. The use of the existing holes allows for simple installation of the device on the hinge. In addition, an installer does not need any significant tools to carry out the installation of the system. A very coherent and resistant assembly is formed thanks to the combination of the hinge and the holding device.
[0013] Another aspect relates to an assembly comprising a leaf and the system.
[0014] Thus, the system can be present directly on shutters to be installed.
[0015] Alternatively, a building opening is provided comprising a peripheral frame delimiting a passage and the assembly.
[0016] Thus, the system can be installed on any leaf, whether it is, for example, a window or door leaf or even a French window. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0030] Before beginning a detailed review of embodiments of the invention, optional features which may possibly be used in combination or alternatively are set out below.
[0031] According to one example, the fixed portion comprises a guide relay, the guide relay comprising a relay through-opening in a direction perpendicular to the main direction of extension positioned so as to be aligned with the first through-hole of the hinge so as to commonly fix the hinge and the device by the first fixing element. Fixing at least a portion of the fixed portion of the device to a pre-existing hole of the hinge with a single common fixing element allows reuse of the existing holes of a hinge already in place. This allows for ease of installation while limiting costs.
[0032] According to one example, the fixed portion comprises a protective housing, the protective housing comprising a main through opening in a direction perpendicular to the main direction of extension, positioned so as to be aligned with a second through hole of the hinge so as to commonly fix the hinge and the device by a second fixing element. The fixing of at least another part of the fixed portion of the device on a second pre-existing hole of the hinge with a single common fixing element allows reuse of the existing holes of a hinge already in place. This allows for ease of installation while limiting costs. In addition, the use of two spaced holes allows for robust fixing on the transverse dimension of a leaf.
[0033] According to one example, the protective housing has additional through openings and in which the hinge has additional through holes, the additional through openings and the additional through holes being configured so as to be placed two by two in correspondence so as to jointly fix the hinge and the device by additional fixing elements. This allows, according to one embodiment, a robust fixing in a vertical direction of the holding system on a leaf. Indeed, this allows a better grip on the hinge at the level of the strike plate and therefore better solidity in the locking configuration.
[0034] According to one example, the first, second and additional fixing elements are taken from screws or rivets. Each of the fixing elements can therefore be universal and facilitate the installation of the device.
[0035] According to one example, the system comprises a strike plate having a longitudinal dimension, the strike plate being positioned on a frame with its longitudinal dimension along the main direction of extension and being configured so as to cooperate by obstacle with the device for maintaining in the locked configuration. The strike plate positioned longitudinally makes it possible to have a portion of it directly in contact with the hinge and no portion in direct contact with a leaf. Thus, the direct contact with the hinge which can be made of metal makes it possible to avoid damage to a leaf when switching to the locked configuration without adding an additional protective base. The number of parts is thus limited, subsequently limiting the cost and difficulty of installation.
[0036] According to one example, the transmission member comprises at a first end a gripping element configured to allow manual control of the control portion. This makes it possible to switch to the unlocked configuration when the device is on the hinge.
[0037] According to one example, the gripping element is an additional part having a groove configured so as to fix the additional part on the transmission member and in which the additional part has two gripping zones positioned on either side of the groove so as to manually catch the holding device. This allows easy installation of the movable part of the device on the fixed part of the device installed on the hinge and consequently facilitates the installation of the system on the hinge. In addition, alternatively the ergonomics of this additional part makes it possible to easily unlock the system despite the curvature of the hinge.
[0038] According to one example, a step of fixing the strike plate to a frame is carried out after the step of fixing the holding device and the hinge so that the longitudinal dimension of the strike plate is parallel to the main direction of extension of the holding device. The strike plate is thus only in contact with the holding device and / or with the hinge. This thus allows the strike plate not to be in contact with a leaf, avoiding damage to the latter when changing from an unlocked configuration to a locked configuration.
[0039] According to one example, a step of positioning the strike plate using a template is carried out before the step of fixing the strike plate. The template makes it possible to mark the wall to facilitate the positioning of the strike plate and therefore to facilitate the installation of the system.
[0040] According to one example, the fixing of the strike plate is carried out via a strike plate fixing element. The strike plate fixing element may be a screw. Thus, this makes it possible to avoid using additional tools for the installation of the system.
[0041] The term "first and second faces of the leaf" means the main faces, that is to say the opposite faces having the largest face. The first face and the second face should be understood as the largest faces of the smallest possible parallelepiped in which the leaf would be inscribed.
[0042] In the remainder of the description, the term "on" does not necessarily mean "directly on". Thus, when it is indicated that a part or member A is supported "on" a part or member B, this does not mean that the parts or members A and B are necessarily in direct contact with each other. These parts or members A and B may be either in direct contact or be supported on each other by means of one or more other parts. The same applies to other expressions such as, for example, the expression "A acts on B", which may mean "A acts directly on B" or "A acts on B by means of one or more other parts".
[0043] In this document, the term mobile or movement corresponds to a rotational movement or a translational movement or even to a combination of movements, for example the combination of a rotation and a translation.
[0044] In this document, when two parts are indicated as distinct, this means that these parts are separate. They are: • positioned at a distance from each other, and / or • mobile relative to each other and / or • secured to each other by being fixed by added elements, this fixing being removable or not.
[0045] A single-piece unit cannot therefore be made up of two separate parts.
[0046] In this document, the term "solidar" used to describe the connection between two parts means that the two parts are connected / fixed relative to each other, according to all degrees of freedom, unless explicitly specified differently. For example, if it is indicated that two parts are solidar in movement in a direction X, this means that the parts can be movable relative to each other except in the direction X. In other words, if one part is moved in the direction X, the other part performs the same movement.
[0047] In the present document, an elastic means may for example be a spring, such as a coil spring, elastic washers such as Belleville washers, an elastomer, a rubber.
[0048] In this document a longitudinal dimension will be understood as the longest dimension of the object.
[0049] In the following detailed description, terms such as "horizontal", "vertical", "longitudinal", "transverse", "upper", "lower", "top", "bottom", "front", "rear", "inside", "outside" may be used. These terms must be interpreted relatively in relation to the normal position of the holding device and / or the leaf and / or the wall. For example, the concept "transverse" corresponds to the width direction of the leaf.
[0050] In the prior art and as illustrated in [Fig.l], a holding device 1 is generally capable of being positioned on a leaf 2. Preferably, in an opening configuration, a leaf 2 comprises a face facing a wall of a frame 3 located next to an opening. That is to say, having a face facing a wall of a frame 3, the holding device 1 is located between a leaf 2 and the wall of a frame 3.
[0051] Just as in the prior art, the system for holding a leaf 2 movable relative to a frame 3 illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3 is capable of being positioned on a leaf 2.
[0052] The holding system advantageously comprises at least one hinge 5 (and typically at least two). The hinges are parallel to each other and spaced vertically, with a lower hinge 5 and another higher one. The hinge 5 may be a right-angle hinge. The hinge 5 allows a leaf 2 to be suspended securely and to open. Thus, the hinge 5 extends longitudinally along the transverse dimension of a leaf 2. It comprises a node making it possible to produce a pivot connection with a hinge secured to the frame.
[0053] The hinge 5 visible in [Fig.2] comprises at least a first through hole 5a. The first through hole 5a is capable of receiving a first fixing element 6a. Thus the passage of the fixing element 6a in the first through hole 5a allows the hinge 5 to be fixed on a leaf 2. Preferably, the hinge 5 comprises a second through hole 5b. The second through hole 5b being distant from the first through hole 5a, preferably in a direction Xn4 described below.
[0054] The holding system comprises a holding device 1. The holding device 1 comprises a movable portion. The movable portion of the holding device 1 allows a user to unlock a leaf 2 in order to close it.
[0055] The movable portion then comprises a control portion 11. The control portion 11 comprises a transmission member 114 extending in a main direction of extension Xn4. The main direction of extension Xn4 being parallel to the longitudinal dimension of the hinge 5. The control portion 11 being able to be actuated manually so as to cause the holding device 1 from the locking configuration to an unlocking configuration of a leaf 2 relative to a frame 3. The actuation of the control portion 11 by a user causes the translation along the main direction of extension Xn4 of the transmission member 114. Preferably, the transmission member 114 comprises a metal rod which may have a rectangular section, preferably the transmission member 114 comprises a profile with a solid rectangular section. The transmission member 114 is then configured so as to be able to assemble with a blocking portion 112.
[0056] Thus, the movable portion also comprises a locking portion 112. The locking portion 112 being integral in movement with the control portion 11 so that the locking portion 112 is controlled in movement in the main direction of extension Xn4 by the control portion 11. In a non-limiting manner, the present description may describe a translational movement, the translational movement being able to be replaced by a rotational movement along an axis perpendicular to the main direction of extension Xn4. This may be a horizontal or diagonal translation relative to the ground. The locking portion 112 being configured, in a locking configuration, to prevent a leaf 2 from moving relative to a frame 3.
[0057] Advantageously, the control portion 11 is located at a first end of the holding device 1 and the locking portion 112 is located at a second end of the holding device 1. Preferably, the second end being at the opposite end from the first end. Preferably, the translational movement of the locking portion 112 is carried out in solidarity with the movement of the control portion 11, in a direction connecting the first end to the second end and in the direction starting from the locking portion 112 towards the control portion 11.
[0058] The holding device 1 is thus structurally configured to allow the holding device 1 to pass from a locking configuration to an unlocking configuration of a leaf 2 relative to a frame 3.
[0059] The holding device 1 is positioned on one face of the hinge 5. Thus one face of the hinge 5 is in contact with a leaf 2 and another face, opposite the first, is in contact with the holding device 1.
[0060] The holding device 1 comprises at least one through opening 1151, also called relay through opening 1151. The relay through opening 1151 is located in correspondence with the first through hole 5a so as to fix the hinge 5 and the holding device 1 in a common manner by the first fixing element 6a on a leaf 2. A common fixing of the hinge 5 and the holding device 1 makes it easier to install a remote locking system without holes. additional in a leaf 2. In addition, this makes it possible to reduce the material required for the installation of the device 1.
[0061] More specifically, the holding system comprises a fixed portion capable of being fixed to a leaf 2. At least part of this fixed portion will now be described with reference to FIGS. 4A and 4B.
[0062] According to one example, the fixed portion comprises a guide relay 115. The guide relay 115 may be configured so as to be fixed integrally to a leaf 2. To do this, the guide relay 115 may comprise a relay through opening 1151 in a direction perpendicular to the main direction of extension Xn4. This through opening 1151 may then be positioned so as to be aligned with the first through hole 5a of the hinge 5 so as to jointly fix the hinge 5 and the device 1 by the first fixing element 6a. The fixing of at least a part of the fixed portion of the device 1 on a pre-existing hole of the hinge 5 with a single common fixing element allows reuse of the existing holes of a hinge 5 which may already be in place. This facilitates installation while limiting costs.
[0063] According to one example, the guide relay 115 comprises an opening configured to allow the transmission member 114 to slide relative to a wall of a frame 3 and thus facilitate its translational guidance. The guide relay 115 further comprises a protective surface configured to come, in a locking configuration, into contact with a wall of a frame 3 in order to stop the rotation of a leaf 2 relative to the wall of a frame 3 without damaging the covering of the wall.
[0064] At least one other part of the fixed portion as well as one part of the movable portion will now be described with reference to Figures 5A and 5B.
[0065] According to one example, the fixed portion comprises a protective housing 113a. The protective housing 113a comprises a main through opening 1131 in a direction perpendicular to the main direction of extension Xn4. The main through opening 1131 can then be positioned so as to be aligned with a second through hole 5b of the hinge 5. Thus, the alignment of the main through opening 1131 and the second through hole 5b of the hinge 5 makes it possible to fix the hinge 5 and the holding device 1 in a common manner. To do this, the fixing can be carried out by a second fixing element 6b. The fixing of at least another part of the fixed portion of the device 1 on a second pre-existing hole 5b of the hinge 5 with a single second common fixing element 6b allows reuse of an existing hole 5b of a hinge 5 already in place. This makes installation easier while limiting costs.Additionally, the use of the first 5a and second 5b through holes which are spaced apart allows for a robust fixing on the transverse dimension of a leaf 2. .
[0066] According to one example, the protective housing 113a also comprises a helical spring, the protective housing 113a being configured so as to allow movement under stress of the locking portion 112 relative to a striker 4.
[0067] Advantageously, when the control portion 11 is moved away from a latch 4, preferably under the actuation of the control portion 11 by a user, a member of the protective housing 113a is stressed in compression and is configured to return to its initial configuration as soon as it is no longer stressed.
[0068] Advantageously, the protective housing 113a is protected by a housing 113.
[0069] According to one example, the fixing elements 6a, 6b are taken from screws or rivets. Each of the fixing elements can therefore be universal and facilitate the installation of the device 1.
[0070] According to one example, the transmission member 114 comprises at a first end a gripping element 111 configured to allow manual control of the control portion 11. This makes it possible to switch to the unlocked configuration when the device 1 is on the hinge 5.
[0071] According to one example, the gripping element 111 is an additional part 111 having a slide 111c configured so as to fix the additional part 111 on the transmission member 114. More precisely, the additional part 111 can be fixed by clipping on the transmission member 114. In a similar manner, precisely, the additional part 111 can be fixed on the first end of the transmission member 114. Thus, the additional part 111 can then be secured to the transmission member 114.
[0072] According to one example, the additional part 111 has two gripping zones 111a, 111b positioned on either side of the slide 11c so as to manually grasp the holding device 1. More precisely, the two gripping zones 111a, 111b are configured so that a user can grasp them with two fingers. The two gripping zones 111a, 111b may be projecting protrusions. This allows easy installation of the movable part of the device 1 on its fixed part installed on the hinge 5. This thus facilitates the installation of the system on the hinge 5. In addition, alternatively, the ergonomics of this additional part 111 makes it possible to easily unlock the system despite the curvature of the hinge 5.
[0073] According to one example, the system comprises a latch 4 illustrated in FIGS. 6A, 6B and 6C. The latch 4 may then have a longitudinal dimension. The latch 4 may be positioned on a frame 3 with its longitudinal dimension along the main direction of extension Xn4. The latch 4 may then be configured so as to cooperate by obstacle with the holding device 1 in the locking configuration. The latch 4 may be positioned longitudinally so as to have a portion of it directly in contact of the hinge 5 and no portion in direct contact with a leaf 2. Thus, direct contact with the hinge 5 which can be made of metal makes it possible to avoid damage to a leaf 2 when switching to the locked configuration without adding an additional protective base. The number of parts is thus limited, subsequently limiting the cost and difficulty of installation.
[0074] According to one example, the striker 4, advantageously secured to the wall of a frame 3, is configured so as to cooperate with the blocking portion 112. The striker 4 advantageously comprises a cooperation portion 4b, comprising an opening configured so that the blocking portion 112 can be inserted therein and come to abut thereunder under the action of an external force to maintain a leaf 2 in an open position and advantageously parallel to the wall of a frame 3. More precisely, the cooperation portion 4b can be configured so as to allow sliding of the control portion 11. Advantageously, this will be the sliding of a beveled surface of a beak 112a of the blocking portion 112. The cooperation portion 4b can extend longitudinally in continuity with the longitudinal dimension of the striker 4.
[0075] According to one embodiment, during a locking phase of a leaf 2, the beveled surface of the beak 112a is configured to cooperate by sliding, in contact with the cooperation portion 4b until the beak 112a reaches the level of the wedging portion. According to one example, the cooperation portion 4b acts as a latch.
[0076] Preferably, the striker 4 comprises an adjustment portion 4a configured so as to allow lateral adjustment of the mounting of the striker 4 relative to the wall of a frame 3. This could in particular be an oblong hole configured to position a screw.
[0077] According to one example, the strike plate 4 comprises a support portion 4c configured so as to stop a leaf 2 in abutment and thus prevent it from touching the wall of a frame 3. The support portion 4c can then come into contact with the hinge 5. The support portion 4c is made of polymer or rubber.
[0078] According to one example, the latch 4 comprises a system of removable shims so as to allow easy adjustment with the travel of the locking portion 112.
[0079] Another embodiment:
[0080] According to an example illustrated in [Fig.7], the protective housing 113a has additional through openings 1132. And, in correspondence, the hinge 5 has additional through holes 5c. The additional through openings 1132 and the additional through holes 5c are configured so as to be placed two by two in correspondence so as to jointly fix the hinge 5 and the device 1 by additional fixing elements 6c. This allows, according to one embodiment, a robust fixing in a vertical direction of the holding system on a leaf 2. In fact, this allows a better grip on the hinge 5 at the level of the strike plate 4 and therefore better strength in the locking configuration. The additional fixing elements 6c can be taken from screws or rivets.
[0081] According to one example, the additional through openings 1132 and the additional through holes 5c are positioned so as to be aligned along a vertical dimension. More specifically, the additional through openings 1132 and the additional through holes 5c are positioned so as to be aligned along a direction perpendicular to the main direction of extension Xn4.
[0082] According to one embodiment, the holding device 1 comprises a movable part and a fixed part relative to a leaf 2. The fixed part comprising at least one of: the guide relay 115, the protective housing 113a and the housing 113. The movable part comprising at least: the control portion 11 and the blocking portion 112, the transmission member 114.
[0083] According to a particular embodiment, the holding device 1 is configured so that the beak 112a comprises an asperity extending transversely to the main direction of extension Xn4 of the transmission member 114 so as to allow the blocking portion 112 to stop in abutment against the protective housing 113a.
[0084] According to one example, the holding device 1 can be oriented vertically relative to the ground or at an angle.
[0085] According to one example, it is possible to provide an assembly comprising a leaf 2 and the system detailed in the paragraphs above.
[0086] According to one example, it is possible to provide a building opening comprising a peripheral frame 3 delimiting a passage and the assembly.
[0087] Method of fixing the system:
[0088] According to one example, the fixing of the holding system comprises positioning a hinge 5 on a leaf 2. The hinge 5 extends along the transverse dimension of a leaf 2 and has at least one through hole 5a, 5b.
[0089] Subsequently, an alignment of at least one through opening 1131, 1151 of the holding device 1 with the at least one through hole 5a, 5b of the hinge 5. The holding device 1 may have its main extension dimension Xn4 parallel to the transverse dimension of a leaf 2.
[0090] Following the alignment step, there may be a fixing of the holding device 1 and the hinge 5 via the same fixing element 6a, 6b configured so as to fix the device 1 and the hinge 5 in a common manner to a leaf 2.
[0091] According to one example, a step of fixing the latch 4 on a frame 3 is carried out after the step of fixing the holding device 1 and the hinge 5. The latch 4 is fixed so that the longitudinal dimension of the latch 4 is parallel to the main direction of extension Xn4 of the holding device 1. The latch 4 is thus only in contact with the holding device 1 and / or with the hinge 5. This thus allows the latch 4 not to be in direct contact with a leaf 2, avoiding damage to the latter when changing from an unlocked configuration to a locked configuration.
[0092] According to one example, a step of positioning the latch 4 by means of a template 4' (illustrated in [Fig.6A]) is carried out before the step of fixing the latch 4.
[0093] According to one example, the template 4' is configured so as to be positioned in correspondence with the blocking portion 112. The template 4' may then have a shape so as to have a raised portion configured so as to mark a point on a frame 3. The template 4' thus makes it possible to mark the wall to facilitate the positioning of the strike plate 4 and therefore to facilitate the installation of the system. More precisely, the raised portion makes it possible to define the point where the adjustment portion 4a of the strike plate 4 can be positioned. Similarly, the raised portion makes it possible to define the point where a strike plate fixing element can be positioned.
[0094] According to one example, the fixing of the strike plate 4 is carried out via a strike plate fixing element. The strike plate fixing element may be a screw. Thus, this makes it possible to avoid using additional tools for the installation of the system.
[0095] The invention is not limited to the embodiments previously described and extends to all embodiments covered by the invention. The present invention is not limited to the examples previously described. Many other variant embodiments are possible, for example by combining features previously described, without departing from the scope of the invention.
