Description

Title of the invention: Assembly formed of a support plate intended to support electrical equipment, a covering plate and an additional functional member TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The invention relates to an assembly formed from a support plate configured to be fixed to any support, in particular a box to be embedded in or projecting from a wall, and to support electrical equipment, for example of the switch or socket type, a covering plate configured to be secured to the support plate and an additional functional member, for example of the label holder or communication gateway type, configured to be secured to the support plate. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] European patent EP 3 104 478 discloses an electrical device intended to be installed in or on a wall, which comprises a mounting frame on which a label holder, electrical equipment and a covering plate are assembled.

[0003] The covering plate is provided with a window opposite which the label holder is arranged to be visible from outside the electrical device.

[0004] The label holder has an elongated middle portion and ends on either side of the elongated middle portion, the mounting frame is provided with forward projections and cutouts forming openings adjacent the projections and in which the opposite ends of the label holder are received, which ends thus extend behind the projections.

[0005] In other words, in the device of European patent EP 3 104 478, since the projections are offset forward, the opposite ends of the label holder do not protrude from a rear face of the mounting frame, which can therefore be mounted by its rear face without being hindered by the label holder. Statement of the invention

[0006] The present invention aims to provide an assembly of a similar type, which is particularly simple, convenient and economical.

[0007] To this end, the invention relates to an assembly formed from a support plate and at least one covering plate and at least one additional functional member configured to be mechanically secured to the support plate, which support plate has a rear face, a front face opposite the rear face, a plurality of snap-fastening zones provided on the front face and the support plate is configured to be fixed by its rear face to any support and to support on its front face of an electrical apparatus, the at least one covering plate has a window and a plurality of first guide and latching members configured to be mechanically secured in certain of the respective latching zones of the support plate, and the at least one additional functional member is configured to be arranged opposite the window of the at least one covering plate and has a plurality of second guide and latching members distinct from the first guide and latching members and configured to be mechanically secured in certain other of the respective latching zones of the support plate.

[0008] The assembly according to the invention allows the securing of both at least one covering plate and at least one additional functional member on any snap-fastening zones among the plurality of snap-fastening zones of the support plate.

[0009] In other words, the support plate is provided with identical snap-in zones which can accommodate both a covering plate and an additional functional member.

[0010] Thanks to the assembly according to the invention, it is therefore perfectly possible to mount at least one covering plate and at least one additional functional member as described above on a so-called conventional support plate.

[0011] Indeed, conventional support plates can be rectangular and can have one or more snap-in areas on each side of the support plate, whereas it is possible to mount a trim plate using the snap-in areas present on only two sides.

[0012] Thanks to the assembly according to the invention, an additional functional member can thus be mounted on the support plate using the unused snap-in zones of the support plate, in particular on another of the sides of the support plate.

[0013] Preferred, simple, convenient and economical characteristics of the assembly according to the invention are presented below.

[0014] Each latching zone of the support plate may be provided with at least one opening, at least one guide recess and at least one latching lug arranged between the opening and the guide recess.

[0015] The at least one opening, the at least one guide recess and the at least one latching lug are accessible from the front face of the support plate.

[0016] Each first guide and latching member of the at least one covering plate can be configured to be introduced into the at least one opening and to latch with the at least one latching lug of one of the latching zones of the support plate.

[0017] At least one first guide and latching member may be provided with a mounting tab extending in a projecting manner and, on a first side of the mounting tab, latching grooves configured to cooperate with the latching lug of one of the latching zones of the support plate and, on a second side of the mounting tab opposite the first side, at least one reinforcing rib.

[0018] In an assembled configuration, the detent grooves of the mounting tab may cooperate with the detent pin, and the mounting tab is elastically deformed and tends to bias the detent pin.

[0019] For example, the mounting tab may be movable between a first stable position and a second position in which the mounting tab is biased in a first direction from the first side to the second side relative to the first stable direction, when the detent grooves of the mounting tab cooperate with the detent lug. In other words, the mounting tab is elastically deformed and tends to bias the detent lug in a second direction opposite the first direction.

[0020] Each second guide and latching member of the at least one additional functional member may be provided with a guide tab configured to be introduced into the guide recess and a complementary lug configured to be introduced into the at least one opening and to latch with the at least one latching lug.

[0021] The guide tab may extend projecting over a first determined length and have a generally frustoconical shape narrowing towards a free end of the guide tab.

[0022] The complementary lug may extend projecting over a second determined length and opposite the guide tab and comprise at a free end a tooth directed towards the guide tab.

[0023] Each second guide and latching member may be provided with an orifice arranged in the immediate vicinity of the complementary lug and configured to allow the passage of a tool to mechanically unfasten the additional functional member from the support plate.

[0024] Each second guide and latching member may further be provided with a recess provided in the immediate vicinity of the complementary lug and opposite the guide tab.

[0025] The guide tab can extend projecting over a first determined length and the complementary lug can extend projecting over a second determined length less than the first determined length.

[0026] The at least one additional functional member may be formed by at least one of a label holder, a communication module and a light source.

[0027] The at least one covering plate may be configured to be mechanically secured to the support plate by the cooperation of two or more first guide and latching members with certain of the latching zones, and the at least one additional functional member may be configured to be mechanically secured to the support plate by the cooperation of two second guide and latching members with certain other of the latching zones.

[0028] The support plate has the shape of a frame having several branches each provided with one or more snap-fastening zones, and the at least one additional functional member can be configured to be mechanically secured to the support plate by the cooperation of two second guide and snap-fastening members with certain other snap-fastening zones arranged either on the same branch of the frame, or on separate branches of the frame.

[0029] The assembly may comprise at least one electrical device supported by the support plate.

[0030] The electrical apparatus may be formed by an electrical outlet, an electrical switch with or without a dimmer, or any other apparatus which may be combined with an additional functional member as described above. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0043] Figures 1 and 2 schematically represent an assembly 1 formed of a support plate 2, as well as a covering plate 6, an additional functional member here formed by a label holder 8 and an electrical device 4 which are configured to be mechanically secured to the support plate 2.

[0044] Such an assembly 1 is configured to be fixed, by means of the support plate 2, to any support, in particular a box (not shown) for example to be embedded in or to be projecting from a wall.

[0045] In the example illustrated, the electrical apparatus 4 is a power outlet which is supported by the support plate 2.

[0046] The label holder 8 and the covering plate 6 are configured to be secured to the support plate 2 with the label holder 8 being interposed between the support plate 2 and the covering plate 6.

[0047] The covering plate 6 is configured to at least partially cover the support plate 2 while leaving the electrical equipment 4 accessible and the label holder 8 visible from the outside of the assembly 1.

[0048] The support plate 2 here has the shape of a substantially flat and generally rectangular frame, defined by a first outer peripheral edge 13 and a first inner peripheral edge 14 which delimits a first receiving opening 15 in which the electrical equipment 4 can be housed.

[0049] The support plate 2 has a rear face 11 and a front face 12 opposite the rear face 11, front face 12 on the side of which the electrical equipment 4 is introduced and the label holder 8 and the covering plate 6 are mounted.

[0050] The first receiving opening 15 of the support plate 2 is provided, on its first inner peripheral edge 14, with mounting members, here snap-fastening members, which comprise for example a hooking rib 22 forming an edge falling from the front face 12 of the support plate 2.

[0051] The electrical apparatus 4 comprises a base 24 comprising side walls 26. The base 24 is provided, on its side walls 26, with projecting latching teeth 27 configured to hook onto a respective hooking rib 22 of the support plate 2.

[0052] The label holder 8 has a mounting face 28 and a visible face 29 opposite the mounting face 28. In particular, the label holder 8 is configured to be secured by its mounting face 28 on the front face 12 of the support plate 2.

[0053] The covering plate 6 has a masked face 31 and a front face 32 opposite the masked face 31. In particular, the covering plate 6 is configured to be fixed by its masked face 31 on the front face 12 of the support plate 2.

[0054] The covering plate 6 makes it possible to mask the support plate 2 and serves in particular to provide an aesthetic function to the assembly 1.

[0055] The covering plate 6 has the shape of a substantially flat frame defined by a second outer peripheral edge 33 and a second inner peripheral edge 34 which delimits a second opening 35 for receiving the electrical equipment 4.

[0056] In the example illustrated, the support plate 2, the electrical equipment 4 and the covering plate 6 here have a generally square shape.

[0057] In particular, the support plate 2, respectively the covering plate 6, comprise four first branches 16, 17, 18, 19, respectively four second branches 36, 37, 38, 39, forming the frames and delimiting the first receiving opening 15, respectively the second receiving opening 35, which here also have a generally square shape.

[0058] The second receiving opening 35 is sized so that the electrical apparatus 4 fills the second receiving opening 35.

[0059] The covering plate 6 comprises a window 42 arranged so as to come opposite the label holder 8 when the covering plate 6 is mechanically secured to the support plate 2.

[0060] The visible face 29 of the label holder 8 is then visible through the window 42 from the outside of the assembly 1 when the covering plate 6 is fixed to the support plate 2.

[0061] The window 42 is here provided on one of the second branches 36, 37, 38, 39 of the covering plate 6 and has a shape corresponding overall to that of the visible face 29 of the label holder 8.

[0062] The covering plate 6 can further be provided with a translucent glass (not shown) closing the window 42.

[0063] In particular, the glass can be arranged so as to be flush with the front face 32 of the covering plate 6.

[0064] The support plate 2 will now be described in more detail, with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5.

[0065] The support plate 2 here comprises a structure 44 made of metallic material and a skin 45 made of insulating synthetic material overmolding the metallic structure 44.

[0066] The skin 45 made of insulating synthetic material envelops the majority of the metallic structure 44.

[0067] The insulating material forming the skin 45 is for example a plastic material such as a polymer loaded with glass fibers or an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).

[0068] Each of the first branches 16, 17, 18, 19 of the support plate 2 is provided, in its center, with a fixing orifice 46, 47, 48, 49.

[0069] These fixing orifices 46, 47, 48, 49 have a keyhole shape, which extends generally circularly, being centered on a center C of the first receiving opening 15.

[0070] Each fixing orifice 46, 47, 48, 49 is configured to allow the passage of a threaded body of a fixing screw intended to be screwed into any support, such as the box to be embedded in or to be projecting from the wall.

[0071] Around each fixing orifice 46, 47, 48, 49, the metallic structure 44 is visible and the skin 45 forms an excess thickness.

[0072] The support plate 2 also comprises, on each of the four sides of its first outer peripheral edge 17, assembly members 53, 54 to another support plate of the same type.

[0073] In particular, the assembly members 53, 54 provided on each side comprise, projecting from the latter, a male element 53, and, in hollow, a female element 54 of complementary contour, located at a distance from the male element 53, in correspondence with the latter.

[0074] In the example illustrated, the male element 53 is a lug and the female element 54 is a notch.

[0075] The support plate 2 is such that the association of support plates with the assembly members 53, 54 forms a determined center distance, for example 71 millimeters, that is to say that the spacing between the centers C of the first receiving openings 15 of the support plates is of the order of this determined center distance, for example 71 millimeters.

[0076] The support plate 2 comprises, on two first opposite parallel branches 17, 19, two detachable portions 56, 57 which each extend over the entire length of the corresponding first branch of the support plate 2.

[0077] Each detachable portion 56, 57 is connected in one piece to the corresponding first branch of the support plate 2 by a break line 59 of lesser resistance.

[0078] Furthermore, each corresponding first branch 13, 15 comprises, on the one hand, projecting from said break line 59, a lug 61 which said detachable portion 56, 57 bypasses by a notch, and, on the other hand, at a distance from this lug 61 and in correspondence with it, a notch 62 of complementary contour.

[0079] By breaking one of the break lines 59 to detach a detachable portion 56, 57 in order to release the lug 61 and the corresponding notch 62 and to associate the support plate 2 with another support plate of the same type whose detachable portion has also been detached by breaking from the corresponding break line, it is possible to associate these support plates with a different center distance, for example 57 millimeters.

[0080] The support plate 2 is further provided, on its front face 12, with a plurality of snap-fastening zones 65.

[0081] In the example shown, the snap-fastening zones 65 are distributed over the first four branches 16, 17, 18, 19 of the support plate 2.

[0082] In particular, each first branch 16, 17, 18, 19 is here provided with two snap-fastening zones 65 arranged on either side of the corresponding fixing orifice 46, 47, 48, 49.

[0083] Each latching zone 65 is provided with an opening 66, a guide recess 67 and a latching lug 68 arranged between the opening 66 and the guide recess 67.

[0084] Each opening 66, each guide recess 67 and each latching lug 68 has an elongated shape along a longitudinal direction of the first branch on which the opening 66, the guide recess 67 and the latching lug 68 are respectively provided.

[0085] In particular, the openings 66, the guide recesses 67 and the latching lugs 68 provided on two first parallel opposite branches extend substantially parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to the openings 66, the guide recesses 67 and the latching lugs 68 of the other first branches.

[0086] The snap-in lug 68 has a first tooth 69 projecting into the opening 66.

[0087] The guide recess 67 is defined in particular by a lower wall 70, in the immediate vicinity of the snap-on lug 68 and by an upper wall 71 opposite the lower wall 70, and the first tooth 69 has a free end which is located at a first determined distance from the lower wall 71 of the guide recess 67 in a general direction of extension of the support plate 2.

[0088] We will now describe in more detail, with reference to [Fig.6], the covering plate 6.

[0089] The covering plate 6 is provided, on its masked face 31, with a plurality of first guide and latching members 75 configured to be mechanically secured in certain of the respective latching zones 65 of the support plate 2.

[0090] In other words, when the covering plate 6 is mechanically secured to the support plate 2, certain snap-fastening zones 65 are not secured with the first guide and snap-fastening members 75.

[0091] In the example illustrated, the covering plate 6 is provided with four first guide and snap-fastening members 75 which are distributed over two second opposite and parallel branches 36, 38 of the covering plate 6 and which are configured to cooperate with snap-fastening zones 65 arranged on two first opposite and parallel branches 16, 18 of the support plate 2.

[0092] In other words, when the covering plate 6 is mechanically secured to the support plate 2, the snap-fastening zones 65 arranged on the two other first parallel opposite branches 17, 19 of the support plate 2 do not cooperate with the first guide and snap-fastening members 75.

[0093] In particular, each first guide and latching member 75 is configured to be introduced into the opening 66 and to latch with the latching lug 68 of one of the latching zones 65 of the support plate 2.

[0094] Each first guide and latching member 75 is here provided with a mounting tab 75 extending projecting from the masked face 31 of the covering plate 6 and, on a first side 76 of the mounting tab, with latching grooves 77 and, on a second side 78 of the mounting tab 75 opposite the first side 76, with reinforcing ribs 79 extending between the second side 78 of the mounting tab 75 and the masked face 31 of the covering plate 6.

[0095] In the illustrated example, the mounting tabs 75 are arranged in pair(s), with the mounting tabs 75 of each pair having their second side 78 spaced apart and facing each other.

[0096] Here, the mounting tabs 75 of each pair are arranged on either side of the second receiving opening 35, that is to say on second opposite and parallel branches 36, 38.

[0097] Each mounting tab 75 is movable between a first stable position and a second position in which the mounting tab 75 is moved in a first direction from its first side 76 to its second side 78 relative to the first stable position and elastically deformed.

[0098] In other words, the mounting tabs 75 of each pair are movable between a first stable position and a second position in which they are brought closer to each other relative to the first stable position and elastically deformed.

[0099] In an assembled configuration (not shown) where the covering plate 6 is mechanically secured to the support plate 2, each mounting tab 75 is introduced into the opening 66, with the snap grooves 77 which cooperate with the snap lug 68, where each mounting tab 75 is in its second position and elastically deformed.

[0100] By cooperating with the snap grooves 77, the snap lug 68 moves the mounting tab 75 from its first stable position to its second position.

[0101] In its second position, the mounting tab 75 which is elastically deformed tends to urge the latching lug 68 in a second direction opposite to the first direction, so as to keep the latching grooves 77 pressing against the latching lug 68.

[0102] The reinforcing ribs 79 are for example configured to limit the elastic deformation of each mounting tab 75, and therefore its movement in the first direction.

[0103] The label holder 8 will now be described in more detail, with reference to FIGS. 7 to 10.

[0104] The label holder 8 here has the shape of a generally rectangular plate.

[0105] As visible in Figures 7 and 8, the label holder 8 is provided with indexing elements 89, here formed by notches, arranged in the center of opposite edges of the visible face 29 and the mounting face 28.

[0106] Furthermore, the label holder 8 is provided, on its mounting face 28, with a plurality of second guide and latching members 80 configured to be mechanically secured in certain latching zones 65 of the support plate 22.

[0107] In other words, when the label holder 8 is secured to the support plate 2, certain snap-fastening zones 65 are not secured with the second guide and snap-fastening members 80.

[0108] In the example illustrated, the label holder 8 is provided with two second guide and snap-fastening members 80 spaced from one another and configured to cooperate with snap-fastening zones 65 arranged on the same first branch 17 of the support plate 2.

[0109] Thus, when the label holder 8 is mechanically secured to the support plate 2, the snap-fastening zones 65 arranged on the other first branches 16, 18, 19 of the support plate 2 do not cooperate with the second guide and snap-fastening members 80.

[0110] At least some of the snap-fastening zones 65 which do not cooperate with the second guide and snap-fastening members 80 cooperate with the first guide and snap-fastening members 75 of the covering plate 6 to mechanically secure the latter to the support plate 2.

[0111] The covering plate 6 and the label holder 8 are then mechanically secured to the support plate 2 by the cooperation respectively of first guide and latching members 75 with certain of the latching zones 65 of the support plate 2 and of second guide and latching members 80 with certain other of the latching zones 65 of the support plate 2.

[0112] In particular here, each second guide and snap-fastening member 80 of the label holder 8 is provided with a guide tab 81 configured to be introduced in the guide recess 67 and a complementary lug 82 configured to be introduced into the opening 66 and to snap into place with the at least one snap-in lug 68 of one of the snap-in zones 65 of the support plate 2.

[0113] The guide tab 81 projects from the mounting face 28 of the label holder 8 over a first determined length and has a generally frustoconical shape narrowing towards a free end of the guide tab 81.

[0114] In other words, the guide tab 81 comprises a lower face 86 and an upper face 87, opposite the lower face 86, which move closer to each other towards the free end of the guide tab 81.

[0115] The complementary lug 82 projects over a second determined length, which is here less than the first predetermined length, and opposite the guide tab 81.

[0116] Furthermore, the complementary lug 82 has at a free end a second tooth 84 directed towards the guide tab 81.

[0117] Each second guide and latching member 80 is further provided with an orifice 83 provided in the immediate vicinity of the complementary lug 82, here between the guide tab 81 and the complementary lug 82, and with a recess 85 provided in the immediate vicinity of the complementary lug 82 and opposite the guide tab 81.

[0118] The recess 85 extends generally over the entire width of the complementary lug 82.

[0119] [Fig. 11] is a sectional view showing the label holder 8 and the support plate 2 in an assembled configuration where the label holder 8 is mechanically secured to the support plate 2 by the cooperation of a second guide and snap-fastening member 80 with a snap-fastening zone 65.

[0120] The guide tab 81 of each second guide and latching member 80 is introduced into the guide recess 67 and the complementary lug 82 is introduced into the opening 66 while being latched with the latching lug 68.

[0121] The complementary lug 82 is movable between a first stable position, shown in [Fig.l 1], and a second position in which the complementary lug 82 is spaced from the guide tab 81 relative to its first stable position, in particular during assembly when the first tooth 69 of the snap-on lug 68 cooperates with the second tooth 84 of the complementary lug 82.

[0122] The second tooth 84 has a free end which is located at a second determined distance from the lower face 86 of the guide tab 81 in a general direction of extension of the label holder 8 when the complementary lug 82 is in its first position, and at a third determined distance, greater than the second determined distance, from the lower face 86 of the guide tab. 81 following the general direction of extension of the label holder 8 when the complementary lug is in its second position.

[0123] The second predetermined distance between the free end of the second tooth 84 and the lower face 86 of the guide tab 81 when the complementary lug 82 is in its first stable position, is less than the first predetermined distance between the free end of the first tooth 69 and the lower wall 70 of the guide recess 67; while the third predetermined distance between the free end of the second tooth 84 and the lower face 86 of the guide tab 81 when the complementary lug 82 is in its second stable position, is equal to or even slightly greater than the first predetermined distance between the free end of the first tooth 69 and the lower wall 70 of the guide recess 67.

[0124] In other words, the guide tab 81 and the complementary lug 82 of the second guide and latching member 80 can be introduced into or removed respectively from the guide recess 67 and the opening 66 when the complementary lug 82 is in its second position, with a view respectively to mechanically securing or mechanically unsecuring the label holder 8 from the support plate 2; whereas when the guide tab 81 is introduced into the guide recess 67 and the complementary lug 82 is introduced into the opening 66 and is in its first stable position, the label holder 8 is locked onto the support plate 2.

[0125] In the example illustrated, the orifice 83 is configured to allow the passage of a tool to move the complementary lug 82 from its first position to its second position and thus mechanically release the label holder 8 from the support plate 2.

[0126] The complementary lug 82, once introduced into the opening 66, does not protrude from the rear face 11 of the support plate 2.

[0127] Variants not illustrated are described below.

[0128] The electrical apparatus may be of a different type. For example, the electrical apparatus may be a switch, a circuit breaker or any other electrical apparatus that can be fixed to any support.

[0129] The shape of the support plate, the electrical apparatus and the cladding plate may be generally circular or rectangular rather than square.

[0130] The additional functional member may have a different or additional function than that of a label holder. For example, the additional functional member may be formed by a communication module, in particular in order to provide a communication gateway function, also called a “communication gateway” in English terminology, or a remote control function for the electrical equipment. For example, the member functional can be provided with a telecommunications antenna. The additional functional organ can also be formed by a light source.

[0131] The additional functional member may have a different shape, in particular L-shaped or U-shaped.

[0132] Several additional functional organs can be secured to the same support plate.

[0133] The first and second guide and latching members can be configured to be mechanically secured in guide zones located either on a first branch, or on two first opposite parallel branches, or on two first adjacent perpendicular branches, or on three first branches, or on all the first branches of the support plate.

[0134] Furthermore, the first and second guide and latching members can be subject to only one of the latching zones of each first branch.

[0135] Each mounting tab may be devoid of a snap-in groove on its respective first side, which then has a generally flat face. Thus, in its second position, the mounting tab which is elastically deformed tends to urge the snap-in lug in a second direction opposite to the first direction, so as to keep the generally flat face of the first side of the mounting tab pressing against the snap-in lug. The mounting tab is then held in the opening, not by snap-in, but by friction, or wedging, between the snap-in lug and the generally flat face of the mounting tab.

[0136] More generally, the invention is not limited to the examples described and represented.
