Abstract

The invention relates to a rear structure of a motor vehicle comprising: - a rear chassis part (12) defining a mean plane Pm, and comprising two rear longitudinal members (14); - two suspension arms (16) connected together by a cross member (46), said two suspension arms being pivotally mounted on said rear chassis part (12) and extending rearward respectively under said two rear longitudinal members (14) to a free end (15); - two wheel hubs (32) mounted respectively on the two free ends (15) of said two arms; - two longitudinal shock absorbers (22) connected respectively to said two free ends (15) of said two arms (16). The said longitudinal shock absorbers (22) join the said rear longitudinal members (14) respectively at an angle to the mean plane Pm, moving away from the said wheel hubs (32) to allow the passage of a transmission shaft (42) connecting each wheel hub.Figure to be published with the abbreviation: Fig. 3.
