Apparatus and method for providing solar tiles on a roof structure

Abstract

An apparatus comprising at least one extruded rail 200 suitable for mechanically fixing to a roof structure and which is configured to support a row of two or more solar tiles 300 along its length. The rail has first and second 550 electrical conductors to couple electrical power produced by the solar tiles to an external connector. The rail may be formed of metal, aluminium, or plastic. The rail 200 may act as the first electrical conductor. The rails may be mounted horizontally and / or attached to multiple rafters. The solar tile enters a recess of the rail via a linear motion and is then latched into the recess by a rotational motion.
