Abstract

To solve the problems in conventional skiving cutters that, when chamfered portions are provided on both sides of a tooth root, it is necessary to prepare a grindstone with the same dimensional size as a tooth root distance, and further, that burring of a workpiece occurs on a trailing side of a processing tooth in gear processing with a skiving cutter according to a workpiece material and a processing tooth specification after removing the chamfered portions from both sides of a tooth root in the skiving cutter.SOLUTION: In a skiving cutter 10, a plurality of processing teeth 1, 2, 3 are arrayed in a circle around a rotational axis. The skiving cutter 10 is provided with chamfering blades 11C, 12C only at one side of a tooth root 11. It is particularly effective to provide the chamfering blades 11C, 12C on a trailing side of a processing tooth.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
