Design method and design device for induction heating coil

Abstract

To provide a design method for designing induction heating coils that can reduce the computational load associated with heat treatment analysis and improve analysis accuracy.SOLUTION: An induction heating coil is arranged around an object to be heated so as to heat the object with rotation of the object and has one or more arc-shaped coil parts. A design method includes processes of: (a) creating a two-dimensional model that represents the induction heating coil and is represented by one or more sets of cross sections symmetrical with respect to a central axis; (b) setting control conditions for current that corresponds to the one or more arc-shaped coil parts and is passed through one or more annular coil parts, the control conditions including periodically changing the current; (c) simulating a surface temperature of the object to be heated and evaluating a combination of the two-dimensional model and the control conditions; and (d) repeating the processes (a) to (c) to perform optimization processing and determine a shape of the induction heating coil.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
