DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0009] (Embodiment) Hereinafter, a thread winder 100 according to an embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is an overall schematic diagram of the thread winder 100. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the spindle 10. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the elastic body 20. Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line A in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is a side view taken along the line B in Fig. 3. Fig. 6 is a side view taken along the line C in Fig. 3. Fig. 7 is an explanatory diagram illustrating the use of the thread winder 100.
[0010] 1, a thread winder 100 according to an embodiment includes a spindle 10 having a connection part 11 that can be attached to a bobbin winding shaft MA provided in a sewing machine (not shown), and an elastic body 20 that is fitted to the spindle 10 and can frictionally support a thread winding core S (spool) through which the spindle 10 passes by biasing it in a direction away from the central axis n of the spindle 10. As such, the thread winder 100 includes the spindle 10 and the elastic body 20 that is fitted to the spindle 10, and therefore the spindle 10 and the elastic body 20 can be easily assembled by simply fitting the elastic body 20 into the spindle 10 to integrate the spindle 10, and the circumferential component of the frictional force between the thread winding core S and the elastic body 20 resists the slight torque that occurs when winding sewing thread T, preventing the thread winding core S from spinning freely relative to the spindle 10. Furthermore, since the spindle 10 has a connection part 11 that can be attached to a lower thread winding shaft MA provided on the sewing machine, the thread winder 100 can be easily attached by connecting the connection part 11 to the lower thread winding shaft MA, and the sewing thread T can be wound around a thread winding core S other than a lower thread bobbin passed through the thread winder 100. Thus, with the thread winder 100, the sewing thread T can be wound around a thread winding core S of any size and shape.
[0011] More specifically, the spindle 10 is a rod-shaped rotating body centered on a central axis n. The spindle 10 is disposed so that the central axis n is located on the axis of the rotation shaft of the bobbin winding shaft MA. A connection part 11 that can be freely attached to the bobbin winding shaft MA is provided at the base end of the spindle 10.
[0012] The connection part 11 has an engagement groove 12 that can engage with a protrusion P provided on the lower thread winding shaft MA. As a result, when the connection part 11 is connected to the lower thread winding shaft MA, the protrusion P provided on the lower thread winding shaft MA fits into the engagement groove 12, so that the spindle 10 can rotate as a unit with the lower thread winding shaft MA as the lower thread winding shaft MA rotates. This also allows the thread winder 100 to be detachably attached to the lower thread winding shaft MA. The connection part 11 may be formed in a brim shape as shown in FIG. 2. The engagement groove 12 may be a notch formed in the connection part 11 that is formed in a brim shape. By forming the connection part 11 in a brim shape, a bobbin presser lever (not shown) provided on the sewing machine can be engaged from the upper surface of the connection part 11.
[0013] The tip 13 of the spindle 10 is tapered. Since the tip 13 of the spindle 10 is tapered, it is easy to insert the elastic body 20 into the spindle 10.
[0014] Here, the spindle 10 may have a circumferential groove 15. This allows the end of the elastic body 20 fitted to the spindle 10 to be caught and locked in the circumferential groove 15, so that the elastic body 20 inserted into the spindle 10 can be prevented from slipping out and the elastic body 20 can be positioned relative to the spindle 10.
[0015] The spindle 10 may have a taper 16 continuing to the circumferential groove 15. This allows the elastic body 20 to be reliably fitted into the position where the taper 16 is formed even if there is variation in the inner diameter of the insertion hole 21 provided in the elastic body 20.
[0016] The taper 16 may have a smaller diameter toward the tip 13. This makes it easier to insert the elastic body 20 into the spindle 10.
[0017] The circumferential groove 15 may have a first circumferential groove 151 and a second circumferential groove 152 located closer to the tip than the first circumferential groove 151. This allows multiple elastic bodies 20 to be fitted onto the spindle 10. Therefore, even if the spindle 10 is long to accommodate a long thread winding core S, the multiple elastic bodies 20 can reliably frictionally support the thread winding core S in a well-balanced manner above and below.
[0018] The taper 16 may have a first taper 161 and a second taper 162 located closer to the tip 13 than the first taper 161. This allows the first elastic body 20A to be reliably fitted into the position where the first taper 161 is formed, and the second elastic body 20B to be reliably fitted into the position where the second taper 162 is formed, respectively.
[0019] As shown in Figs. 3 to 6, the elastic body 20 has an insertion hole 21 through which the spindle 10 passes, and friction pieces 22 that expand outward from the insertion hole 21. There are a plurality of friction pieces 22, like the ribs of an umbrella. It is preferable that the number of friction pieces 22 is three or more, since the elastic body 20 can be reliably positioned at the center of the core hole Sh, and is, for example, four. The elastic body 20 is, for example, an injection molded product made of polypropylene resin. The friction pieces 22 are in direct contact with the inner wall of the core hole Sh of the thread winding core S. The friction pieces 22 are appropriately provided with grooves 23. This allows the rigidity (elasticity) of the elastic body 20 to be adjusted.
[0020] The elastic body 20 may be tightly fitted to the spindle 10. This allows the elastic body 20 to be fixed and integrated with the spindle 10 without using adhesive or the like.
[0021] The outer diameter 20D of the elastic body 20 (see FIG. 3) may be larger than the inner diameter ds (see FIG. 7) of the core hole Sh of the thread winding core S through which the spindle 10 passes. This generates friction between the elastic body 20 and the thread winding core S, making it possible to support the thread winding core S with frictional force. When the thread winder 100 and the thread winding core S rotate together with the rotation of the lower thread winding shaft MA, the thread winding core S is prevented from spinning freely and is less likely to swing upward or come off.
[0022] Next, a description will be given of how to use the thread winder 100. As shown in Fig. 1, the thread winder 100 has a first elastic body 20A and a second elastic body 20B fixed to a spindle 10.
[0023] When using the thread winder 100, first, the thread winder 100 is attached to the lower thread winding shaft MA (thread winder attachment step S1). In detail, as shown in FIG. 7, the connection part 11 at the base end of the spindle 10 of the thread winder 100 is attached to the lower thread winding shaft MA provided on the sewing machine. At this time, the spindle 10 is moved downward while being positioned so that the protrusion P provided on the lower thread winding shaft MA fits into the engagement groove 12 provided on the connection part 11 of the spindle 10. Then, with the protrusion P fitted into the engagement groove 12, the connection part 11 of the spindle 10 is attached to the lower thread winding shaft MA. This allows the spindle 10 to rotate integrally with the lower thread winding shaft MA as it rotates. The spindle 10 can be removed from the lower thread winding shaft MA by lifting the spindle 10 upward.
[0024] Next, the thread winding core S is attached to the thread winding device 100 (thread winding core attachment step S2). In detail, as shown in Fig. 7, the thread winding core S is inserted onto the thread winding device 100. Then, the elastic body 20 of the thread winding device 100 is pressed against the core hole Sh of the thread winding core S to frictionally support the thread winding core S. As a result, as the lower thread winding shaft MA rotates, the spindle 10 and the elastic body 20 rotate together, and the thread winding core S, which is frictionally supported by the elastic body 20, can also rotate together.
[0025] Next, the sewing thread T is wound around the thread winding core S (thread winding step S3). In detail, as shown in FIG. 7, one end Te of the sewing thread T is appropriately attached to the thread winding core S. Thereafter, the lower thread winding shaft MA is rotated to wind the sewing thread T around the thread winding core S. In this way, the thread winder 100 can easily wind the sewing thread T around a thread winding core S of any size and shape using the lower thread winding shaft MA. This makes it possible to meet the needs, for example, of dividing up the sewing thread T from a large thread winding core on which a large amount of sewing thread T has been wound, and rewinding the thread onto a smaller medium-sized thread winding core.
[0026] When the thread winding core S is lifted upward, the weight of the thread winder 100 exceeds the vertical component of the frictional force between the elastic body 20 and the thread winding core S, and the thread winding core S with the sewing thread T wound thereon can be removed from the thread winder 100. Therefore, it is preferable that the weight of the thread winder 100 is adjusted so as to be larger than the vertical component of the frictional force between the elastic body 20 and the thread winding core S.
[0027] As described above, the thread winder 100 according to the embodiment comprises the spindle 10 having the connection part 11 that can be attached to a bobbin winding shaft MA provided in a sewing machine, and the elastic body 20 that is fitted into the spindle 10 and can frictionally support the thread winding core S through which the spindle 10 passes by biasing it in a direction away from the central axis n of the spindle 10. As such, the thread winder 100 comprises the spindle 10 and the elastic body 20 fitted into the spindle 10, and therefore the spindle 10 and the elastic body 20 can be easily assembled by simply fitting the elastic body 20 into the spindle 10 to integrate the spindle 10 and the elastic body 20, and the frictional force between the thread winding core S and the elastic body 20 resists the slight torque that occurs when winding the sewing thread T, preventing the thread winding core S from spinning freely relative to the spindle 10.
[0028] Moreover, the winding method using the winding device 100 according to the embodiment includes a winding device attachment step S1 of attaching the winding device 100 to a lower thread winding shaft MA, a winding core attachment step S2 of attaching a winding core S to the winding device 100, and a winding step S3 of winding a sewing thread T around the winding core S. This makes it possible to wind the sewing thread T around a winding core S of any size and shape using the lower thread winding shaft MA.
[0029] The technical scope of the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0030] In addition, the above embodiment may be modified without departing from the spirit of the present invention. The components in the above embodiment may be replaced with known components as appropriate. Furthermore, the features of the above-described modified examples may be combined as appropriate without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0031] For example, the thread winder is not limited to one equipped with the spindle and elastic body described above, but may be any device that includes a connection part that can be attached to a bobbin winding shaft of a sewing machine, and a support part that can support the thread winding core. Here, the support part may be a latch mechanism that can engage and disengage with the thread winding core, or a clamping mechanism that can clamp and release the thread winding core.
