Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The technology disclosed in this specification relates to a vehicle back door and a method for attaching a back door trim to a back door panel. [Background technology]
[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a vehicle equipped with a body having a door opening at the rear and a back door for opening and closing the door opening. The back door is equipped with a door panel including an outer panel having a window opening and an inner panel, and the outer peripheries of both panels and the inner peripheral edge of the window opening extend in a flange-like manner and are overlapped.
[0003] The interior surface of the door panel is covered with a trim. The trim has multiple clips, and is attached to the door panel by approaching the trim from a direction substantially perpendicular to the plate surface of the door panel and sequentially pushing the clips into holes provided in the door panel. During this attachment, the end of the trim is positioned inside the overlapping portion of the flange-shaped door panel in the window opening so that the trim can cover the overlapping portion without coming into contact with the overlapping portion. [0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2008-260350 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] In the above-mentioned conventional configuration, the back window glass that closes the window opening is attached to the outer side of the window opening of the outer panel, and a ceramic line is provided near the outer periphery of the back window glass to hide the end of the trim that is placed inside the window opening. Since such a ceramic line is painted black, if it is set thick, it tends to narrow the visibility from inside the vehicle cabin. In addition, the appearance from outside the vehicle cabin may also be deteriorated, so it is preferable to make it as thin as possible. In particular, there is a demand to reduce the curvature R of the ceramic line at the corners of both lower ends of the window opening.
[0006] However, due to the above-mentioned mounting direction, the end of the trim that is located inside the window opening is located inside the overlapping portion of the door panel to avoid interference with the overlapping portion, which makes it difficult to make the ceramic line thinner.
[0007] The technology disclosed in this specification aims to provide a method of attaching a back door trim to a vehicle back door and back door panel that can reduce the width of a ceramic line provided on a back window glass, in particular, a ceramic line that is arranged at a corner portion of a window opening. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] The technology disclosed in this specification is a vehicle back door capable of opening and closing a door opening provided at the rear end of a vehicle, the back door panel including a panel main body portion and a frame-shaped window frame portion extending from both ends of an upper end of the panel main body portion, a back door trim attached to the interior side of the vehicle compartment of the panel main body portion, and a back window glass closing the window frame portion, the panel main body portion having an inner panel and an outer panel disposed on the exterior side of the vehicle compartment of the inner panel, and the panel main body portion has an end of the inner panel and an outer panel disposed on the exterior side of the vehicle compartment of the panel main body portion, and the end of the inner panel and the outer panel are connected to each other at the upper end of the panel main body portion. The rear door trim has a flange-shaped flange portion in which an end of a rear panel is overlapped with a rear panel end, and the flange portion is arranged on the vehicle interior side of the rear window glass, and the rear door trim has a trim main body portion that covers the vehicle interior side of the panel main body portion, and a covering portion that continues from the upper end of the trim main body portion and covers the flange portion from above, and the covering portion has roll-up portions that wrap around the flange portion at least at both ends on the inside of the opening of the window frame portion and are inserted between the flange portion and the rear window glass.
[0009] According to the above configuration, at least at both ends inside the opening of the window frame, the end (tip) of the roll-up portion that rolls in the flange portion from above is positioned lower than the end (upper end) of the flange portion, so that the width of the ceramic line provided on the back window glass to hide the end of the back door trim, at least at the corner portion between the panel main body portion and the window frame portion, can be made smaller than before. In other words, the curvature R of the ceramic line at the corner portion between the panel main body portion and the window frame portion can be set smaller than before, so that the field of view from inside the vehicle cabin is expanded to a position close to the corner, and the appearance when looking at the back door (back window glass) from outside the vehicle cabin is also improved.
[0010] The wrap-around portion may include an extension portion that wraps around the window frame portion to the outside of the vehicle cabin. With this configuration, the curvature R of the ceramic line disposed at the corner portion between the panel body portion and the window frame portion can be set smaller, thereby further improving visibility and appearance.
[0011] Another technology disclosed in this specification is an installation method for attaching a tailgate trim to a tailgate panel of the above-mentioned vehicle tailgate, which executes the following steps: inserting one end of the roll-in portion between the rear window glass and the flange portion from the interior side of the vehicle cabin of the tailgate panel with the tailgate trim raised in a direction such that the plate surface of the trim main body portion intersects with the panel main body portion; moving an end of the trim main body portion where the other end side of the roll-in portion is provided in a diagonal direction of the window frame portion to position the other end side of the roll-in portion on the outer side of the vehicle cabin than the flange portion; bringing the other end side of the roll-in portion closer to the panel main body portion and inserting it between the rear window glass and the flange portion; and rotating the trim main body portion around the roll-in portion as a rotation center in a direction closer to the interior side of the vehicle cabin of the panel main body portion.
[0012] According to the above configuration, the back door trim having the roll-in portion can be attached to the back door panel without interfering with the flange portion. Effect of the Invention
[0013] According to the technology disclosed in this specification, it is possible to provide a method for attaching a back door trim to a vehicle back door and back door panel that makes it possible to narrow the width of the ceramic line provided on the back window glass, in particular the ceramic line that is arranged at the corner portion of the window opening. [0015] An embodiment will be described with reference to Figures 1 to 9. In each figure, the arrows FR and RR indicate the front and rear of the vehicle, respectively, the arrows UP and DW indicate the top and bottom of the vehicle, respectively, and the arrows R and L indicate the right and left of the vehicle travel direction, respectively.
[0016] 1 is a perspective view of a back door (an example of a vehicle back door) 20 of a vehicle (an example of a vehicle) 10 in this embodiment, as viewed from the rear (back side) of the vehicle. The back door 20 is a hatchback type back door that can be opened and closed by rotating in the vertical direction around a hinge portion provided at the upper end of a door opening at the rear of the vehicle 10. Note that the vertical direction in the following description refers to the direction when the back door 20 is in a state of closing the door opening.
[0017] The back door 20 includes a back door panel 21, a back door trim 30, and a back window glass 40.
[0018] The tailgate panel 21 comprises a plate-shaped panel main body 22 which forms the main portion of the lower part of the tailgate 20, and a window frame portion 23 which extends upward from both ends of the panel main body 22 in the vehicle width direction, has a roughly rectangular frame shape, and is closed by the tailgate glass 40 (see Figure 2).
[0019] Of these, the panel main body 22 rises up nearly vertically from the vehicle floor when the back door 20 closes the door opening (as shown in FIG. 1). On the other hand, the window frame 23 is disposed so as to incline obliquely upward from the upper end of the panel main body 22 toward the front of the vehicle (see FIG. 1).
[0020] Such a back door panel 21 is configured to include an inner panel 26 and an outer panel 27 disposed opposite the passenger compartment outside of the inner panel 26. The inner panel 26 and the outer panel 27 overlap each other at their peripheral portions and inside the opening of the window frame portion 23 (the portion closed by the back window glass 40) and join together to form a flange-shaped flange portion 25.
[0021] Of these, the flange portion 25 located at the upper end of the panel main body portion 22 (inside the window frame portion 23) extends obliquely upward and forward generally along the inclination direction of the window frame portion 23, as shown in Fig. 3. In other words, it extends toward the inside of the opening of the window frame portion 23. In the following description, the flange portion 25 extending toward the inside of the opening of the window frame portion 23 at the upper end of the panel main body portion 22 will be referred to as the window frame inner flange portion 25A.
[0022] 3, a step portion 28 is formed near the upper end of the outer panel 27 of the panel main body 22 and below the window frame inner flange portion 25A, the step portion 28 being recessed one step toward the interior of the vehicle from the main outer surface of the outer panel 27. The lower end of the back window glass 40 is fitted into this step portion 28, so that the outer surface of the back window glass 40 and the outer surface of the main portion of the outer panel 27 below the step portion 28 are continuous with each other. The back window glass 40 covers the entire exterior surface (rear surface) of the window frame portion 23 outside the vehicle interior.
[0023] With this configuration, the portion of the outer panel 27 of the panel main body 22 that is located above the step portion 28 is disposed on the interior side of the back window glass 40. In other words, the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the lower portion of the back window glass 40 are disposed so as to overlap in the interior / exterior direction (front-rear direction). Note that the window frame inner flange portion 25A is disposed on the interior side (front) of the back window glass 40 while being spaced apart from the back window glass 40.
[0024] The back door trim 30 is attached so as to cover the interior side of the back door panel 21 (inner panel 26). The back door trim 30 has a trim main body portion 31 that is disposed below the window frame portion 23 and covers the panel main body portion 22 (see FIG. 2).
[0025] The trim main body 31 is disposed opposite the panel main body 22 (inner panel 26), and a plurality of clip seats (not shown) to which clips can be attached are protruding from its outer surface (the surface facing the panel main body 22) facing the vehicle interior. Meanwhile, the inner panel 26 is provided with mounting holes (not shown) into which clips attached to the clip seats are inserted. Therefore, the trim main body 31 is fixed to the vehicle interior surface of the inner panel 26 by inserting the clips into the mounting holes.
[0026] A covering portion 33 is provided at the upper end of the trim body portion 31 in a direction intersecting with the above-mentioned window frame inner flange portion 25A, specifically, extending toward the rear of the vehicle and covering the window frame inner flange portion 25A from above (see FIG. 3). Mounting portions 34 are provided at both ends in the vehicle width direction of the covering portion 33, which rise along the window frame portion 23 and are used to mount the back door trim 30 to the inner peripheral surface of the opening of the window frame portion 23 (see FIGS. 2 and 3).
[0027] The covering portion 33 of this embodiment is provided with a roll-up portion 35 at both ends in the vehicle width direction, which extends so as to roll up the upper end 25B of the window frame inner flange portion 25A from above. As shown in Fig. 3, the tip side (the end on the outside of the vehicle compartment) of the roll-up portion 35 is inclined obliquely downward toward the rear, and a tip portion 37 disposed at the lower end thereof is inserted between the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the back window glass 40. In other words, the tip portion 37 of the roll-up portion 35 is disposed below the upper end 25B of the window frame inner flange portion 25A.
[0028] Furthermore, the covering portion 33 of this embodiment includes extending portions 36, which extend outward in the vehicle width direction from the roll-up portion 35 at both ends in the vehicle width direction and cover the lower end portion of the window frame portion 23 from the outside of the vehicle compartment (see FIG. 4). In other words, the extending portions 36 are portions that are located outside the vehicle compartment (rearward) relative to the opening edge portion 23A of the window frame portion 23 in the vehicle width direction.
[0029] 1, a ceramic line 41 capable of covering the tip portions 37 (terminals of the back door trim 30) of the roll-in portion 35 and the extension portion 36 from the outside of the vehicle compartment is formed on the peripheral portion (at least the lower end portion) of the back window glass 40. The ceramic line 41 is applied to the interior surface of the back window glass 40 in a dark color such as black, and by covering the tip portions 37 from the outside of the vehicle compartment, it serves to make the tip portions 37 invisible from the outside of the vehicle.
[0030] In this embodiment, since the covering portion 33 of the back door trim 30 has the roll-in portion 35 and the extension portion 36, the tip portion 37 is disposed closer to the end of the back window glass 40 than in a conventional configuration not having the roll-in portion 35 and the extension portion 36 (see Figs. 10 to 12). That is, the ceramic line 41 for hiding the tip portion 37 of the back door trim 30 can be retreated to a position closer to the end of the back window glass 40. In particular, in the corner portion 24 formed between the trim main body portion 31 and the window frame portion 23, the ceramic line 41 can be brought closer to the corner portion of the back window glass 40 than in the conventional configuration (the curvature R of the ceramic line 41 can be reduced), so that the visibility from inside the vehicle compartment is wider than in the conventional configuration, and the appearance from outside the vehicle compartment is also improved (see Figs. 1, 5, 10, and 12). In addition, in Figures 10 to 12 which show a conventional back door 110, the same components as those in the present embodiment described above are given the same reference numerals, and similar components are given reference numerals which are 100 larger than the reference numerals in the present embodiment, and duplicate explanations are omitted.
[0031] The vehicle back door 20 of this embodiment is as described above, and next, a method of mounting the back door trim 30 to the back door panel 21 will be described. As described above, the back door trim 30 of this embodiment is provided with the wrapping portion 35 that wraps the window frame inner flange portion 25A from above in the covering portion 33, and the extension portion 36 that is connected to the wrapping portion 35 and is disposed on the vehicle exterior side of the window frame portion 23. Therefore, if the trim main body portion 31 is to be mounted in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the panel main body portion 22 as in the conventional method, the wrapping portion 35 will interfere with the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the extension portion 36 will interfere with the window frame portion 23, making it impossible to mount the trim main body portion 31. Therefore, the mounting method will be described below.
[0032] When attaching the tailgate trim 30 to the tailgate panel 21, first, the tailgate trim 30 is tilted slightly up in a direction in which the plate surface of the trim main body portion 31 intersects with the panel main body portion 22, and one of the two roll-up portions 35 provided at both ends of the upper end of the trim main body portion 31 is inserted between the rear window glass 40 and the window frame inner flange portion 25A from the interior side of the tailgate panel 21.
[0033] In this way, by positioning the trim main body portion 31 in a direction intersecting with the panel main body portion 22, it is possible to prevent the under-shaped roll-up portion 35 from interfering with the window frame inner flange portion 25A during installation, making it impossible to position it between the back window glass 40 and the window frame inner flange portion 25A.
[0034] At this time, the other wrap-around portion 35 is disposed on the interior side of the panel main body 22. By doing so, it becomes possible to slide the extension portion 36 connected to one wrap-around portion 35 inserted between the back window glass 40 and the window frame inner flange portion 25A from the inside of the opening of the window frame portion 23 to the outside of the cabin of the window frame portion 23 (from the inside of the opening to the outside in the vehicle width direction).
[0035] When the sliding movement of one of the extension portions 36 is completed in this manner, one of the wrap-around portions 35 is positioned between the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the rear window glass 40, and the extension portion 36 is positioned between the window frame portion 23 and the rear window glass 40 (see Figures 3 and 4).
[0036] Next, the other end of the trim main body 31 where the other wrap-around portion 35 is provided is moved diagonally in the window frame 23 (the opposite direction of the panel main body 22 in the window frame 23) (see FIG. 6), so that the other wrap-around portion 35 and the extension portion 36 are disposed outside the vehicle compartment (rearward) in the vehicle interior / exterior direction from the upper end 25B of the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the window frame 23. By moving the other end of the trim main body 31 in the diagonal direction away from the panel main body 22 in this way, the other wrap-around portion 35 and the extension portion 36 of the upper end of the back door trim 30, which has a width dimension longer than the opening width of the window frame 23, can be disposed from the inside of the vehicle compartment to the outside of the vehicle compartment from the upper end 25B of the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the window frame 23.
[0037] Next, the other roll-in portion 35 and the extension portion 36 arranged on the vehicle exterior side of the upper end 25B of the window-frame inner flange portion 25A and the window frame portion 23 are brought closer to the panel main body portion 22, and the other roll-in portion 35 is inserted between the window-frame inner flange portion 25A and the back window glass 40, and the extension portion 36 is inserted between the window frame portion 23 and the back window glass 40 (see FIG. 7). As a result, the two roll-in portions 35 are arranged on the vehicle exterior side of the window-frame inner flange portion 25A arranged within the opening of the window frame portion 23 of the panel main body portion 22, and the two extension portions 36 are arranged on the vehicle exterior side of the window frame portion 23. In this state, the trim main body portion 31 is arranged in a direction intersecting with the plate surface of the panel main body portion 22.
[0038] Finally, the upper end portion (the end portion where the roll-up portion 35 is formed) of the trim main body portion 31 is used as the center of rotation to rotate the opposite lower end portion closer to the lower end of the panel main body portion 22, and the clip protruding from the outer surface of the passenger compartment of the trim main body portion 31 is inserted into the mounting hole of the panel main body portion 22, thereby attaching the trim main body portion 31 to the panel main body portion 22 (see Figures 2 and 9).
[0039] Incidentally, the work of attaching the back door trim to the back door panel is currently performed on the back door panel that is connected to the vehicle body via a hinge portion provided at the upper opening edge of the door opening and is in a lifted-up state to open the door opening. Conventionally, the trim main body portion was arranged parallel to the panel main body portion and was configured to approach the panel main body portion vertically, so the trim main body portion had to be attached to the back door panel (panel main body portion) that was lifted up and the mounting surface was facing downward. In other words, the clip had to be pushed in while the back door trim was held above the head to prevent it from falling, and such an attachment work was not easy.
[0040] In contrast, according to the back door 20 of this embodiment, first, the trim main body 31 is brought close in a vertical orientation (a direction intersecting with the panel main body 22) to the panel main body 22 with the door opening open, and one of the roll-up parts 35 is inserted between the window frame inner flange part 25A and the back window glass 40, so that the roll-up part 35 is hooked onto the window frame inner flange part 25A. In other words, even if the trim main body 31 is released in this state, it is unlikely to fall off the panel main body part 22, so that the installation work of the back door trim 30 to the back door panel 21 can be easily performed compared to the conventional configuration.
[0041] Next, the effects of the present embodiment will be described. The present embodiment is a back door 20 capable of opening and closing a door opening provided at the rear end of a vehicle 10, and includes a back door panel 21 having a panel main body 22 and a frame-shaped window frame 23 extending from both ends of the upper end of the panel main body 22, a back door trim 30 attached to the interior side of the panel main body 22, and a back window glass 40 closing the window frame 23. The panel main body 22 has an inner panel 26 and an outer panel 27 arranged on the exterior side of the inner panel 26, and an end of the inner panel 26 and an end of the outer panel 27 are joined at the upper end of the panel main body 22. The back door trim 30 has a window frame inner flange portion 25A which is arranged on the inside of the passenger compartment of the back window glass 40, and has a trim main body portion 31 which covers the passenger compartment surface of the panel main body portion 22, and a covering portion 33 which continues from the upper end of the trim main body portion 31 and covers the window frame inner flange portion 25A from above, and the covering portion 33 has roll-up portions 35 which wrap around the window frame inner flange portion 25A at both ends on the inside of the opening of the window frame portion 23 and are inserted between the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the back window glass 40.
[0042] According to the above configuration, at both ends inside the opening of the window frame portion 23, the end (tip portion 37) of the roll-up portion 35 that rolls in the window frame inner flange portion 25A from above is disposed lower than the end (upper end 25B) of the window frame inner flange portion 25A, so that the ceramic line 41 provided on the back window glass 40 to hide the end of the back door trim 30 can be made smaller in width than before at least at the corner portion 24 between the panel main body portion 22 and the window frame portion 23. In other words, the curvature R of the ceramic line 41 at the corner portion 24 between the panel main body portion 22 and the window frame portion 23 can be set smaller than before, so that the field of view from inside the vehicle compartment is expanded to a position close to the corner, and the appearance of the back door 20 (back window glass 40) when viewed from outside the vehicle compartment is also improved.
[0043] In addition, the wrap-around portion 35 has an extension portion 36 that wraps around the outside of the vehicle compartment of the window frame portion 23. With this configuration, the curvature R of the ceramic line 41 arranged in the corner portion 24 between the panel main body portion 22 and the window frame portion 23 can be set smaller, further improving visibility and appearance.
[0044] In addition, the installation method for attaching the tailgate trim 30 to the tailgate panel 21 of the tailgate 20 of this embodiment includes the steps of inserting one of the wrap-around portions 35 between the back window glass 40 and the window frame inner flange portion 25A from the interior side of the tailgate panel 21 with the tailgate trim 30 raised in a direction such that the plate surface of the trim main body portion 31 intersects with the panel main body portion 22; moving the end portion of the trim main body portion 31 where the other end side of the wrap-around portion 35 is provided in the diagonal direction of the window frame portion 23 to position the other end side of the wrap-around portion 35 outside the cabin beyond the window frame inner flange portion 25A; bringing the other end side of the wrap-around portion 35 closer to the panel main body portion 22 to insert it between the back window glass 40 and the window frame inner flange portion 25A; and rotating the trim main body portion 31 around the wrap-around portion 35 as the rotation center in a direction closer to the interior side of the panel main body portion 22.
[0045] According to the above configuration, the back door trim 30 having the roll-in portion 35 can be attached to the back door panel 21 without interfering with the window frame inner flange portion 25A.
[0046] <Other embodiments> The technology disclosed in this specification is not limited to the embodiments described above and illustrated in the drawings, and for example, the following embodiments are also included within the technical scope.
[0047] (1) In the above embodiment, the back door trim 30 is shown in which the extension portion 36 that wraps around the window frame portion 23 to the outside of the vehicle compartment is integrally formed with the wrap-around portion 35. However, a configuration that does not include an extension portion is also included in the technical scope.
[0048] (2) The method of attaching the back door trim 30 to the back door panel 21 is not limited to the above embodiment. For example, the back door trim 30 can be disposed substantially diagonally so that the upper end portion thereof fits within the window frame portion 23, and then the trim main body portion 31 can be tilted with respect to the plate surface of the panel main body portion 22, and the roll-in portion 35 can be inserted between the window frame inner flange portion 25A and the back window glass 40, and can be rotated around the roll-in portion 35.
