Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] This disclosure relates to machines and methods for magnetic stimulation of tissue, and more particularly to machines and methods for magnetic stimulation of tissue that are non-invasive to the tissue being stimulated. [Background technology]
[0002] There are medical conditions that can be treated or diagnosed through the application of a time-varying magnetic field to an affected portion of a patient's body. Muscle tissue cells, nerve tissue cells, biological tissue, or conductive biological tissue respond to magnetic stimulation, and generally to electromagnetic fields.
[0003] When a time-varying magnetic field is applied to the body, electrical currents are induced in a part of the body so that the cells making up the biological tissue in said part of the body can be stimulated by polarizing or depolarizing the cells. It is also possible to use the time-varying magnetic field to cause muscle tissue to contract as if the muscle tissue were stimulated at the neurological level.
[0004] Because of this interaction between time-varying magnetic fields and biological tissues, magnetic stimulation can be used in the rehabilitation of injured or paralyzed muscle groups, therapy where peripheral nerves are stimulated for pain relief, stimulation of revascularization, wound healing, tissue movement, and bone growth or regeneration. An area of particular interest is the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, mania, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder, among others. Another area is the study of tissue responses to magnetic stimulation.
[0005] Magnetic stimulation with a time-varying magnetic field can be applied invasively or non-invasively. Invasive application requires the destruction of healthy tissue surrounding the target tissue to allow access to said target tissue, which may lead to additional complications to those created by the target tissue, making invasive application of magnetic stimulation inappropriate in some cases.
[0006] On the other hand, application of a time-varying magnetic field in a non-invasive manner allows tissue to be polarized or depolarized by induction of small magnetic fields in the cells that make up the tissue, without the need for tissue intervention, and is therefore suitable and does not cause the adverse effects of surgical intervention in the tissue surrounding the tissue of interest.
[0007] The application of a time-varying magnetic field in a non-invasive manner is performed, for example, using energy pulses. To generate magnetic pulses that can provide a therapeutic effect to a patient, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation), and magnetoconvulsive therapy (MCT) procedures require large amounts of electrical energy, typically hundreds of Joules (J) per pulse.
[0008] Thus, the prior art discloses devices and methods for magnetic stimulation of tissue, such as those disclosed by US Pat. No. 5,399,623 and US Pat. No. 5,499,636. US Pat. No. 5,499,636. The latter discloses a device and method of magnetic stimulation used to accelerate blood circulation. The device is a magnetic ring comprising a ring in which a pair of permanent magnets are positioned in such a way that the magnetic field of the two magnets is intensified inside the ring. The method involves placing the ring on a person's finger / toe to promote improved blood circulation in the patient. Specifically, when using a magnetic ring, the polarity direction must be taken into account, for example, in a specific embodiment, if the ring is worn on the pinky finger of the left hand, the magnetic north of the ring must point towards the base of the finger, and conversely, if worn on the right hand, the magnetic north of the ring should point towards the tip of the pinky finger.
[0009] For its part, the '2006 document discloses an apparatus and system for the non-invasive treatment of medical conditions that delivers energy in the form of pulses to body tissue for therapeutic purposes. The apparatus is an electric coil coupled to a source of electric energy. One of the aims of the invention is to create an elongated electric field that can be oriented parallel to specific neural tissue. However, the apparatus and system disclosed in the '2006 document must be held in position relative to the tissue and therefore positioned in a very precise position and in a very specific orientation, which requires very highly trained personnel to stimulate the tissue.
[0010] As used herein, stimulation of biological tissue refers to the application of energy to said biological tissue to induce specific changes in properties of said biological tissue, such as tissue impedance response, tissue vascularization, tissue temperature, tissue health, tissue growth rate, among others. [0025] However, this document also discloses a method for magnetic stimulation of body tissue.
[0026] Generally, in magnetic stimulation of tissue, this document discloses paths of magnetic fields to tissue that follow different trajectories in three-dimensional space relative to a body including the tissue as a function of time based on determined movement patterns and generation of magnetic fields by actuation signals.
[0027] One method for magnetic stimulation of body tissue includes the steps of: a) operatively positioning a coil in body tissue; b) generating a magnetic field with the coil; and c) moving the coil according to a determined movement pattern around the tissue to stimulate the tissue.

[0031] Optionally, in step c), the movement pattern varies the orientation of the coil.
[0032] Alternatively, in step C, the motion pattern includes the substeps of i) moving the coil following the motion pattern in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tissue until the position of the coil extends beyond the length of the body tissue, and ii) changing the orientation of the coil so that the axis of the coil forms a 90 degree angle with the longitudinal axis of the tissue.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0037] The present disclosure relates to machines and methods for magnetic tissue stimulation, which use a magnetic field that follows a pattern of movement in three-dimensional space relative to the tissue.
[0038] The disclosed approach to magnetic stimulation of tissue involves the path of a magnetic field that changes as a function of time in the tissue, the magnetic field following a trajectory of a magnetic field generating coil based on a determined movement pattern of said coil and a trajectory of magnetic field generation based on a stimulation pattern, thus distributing magnetic field energy through the body and stimulating the tissue.
[0039] In particular, the disclosed magnetic stimulation is applied to biological tissue, as will be explained later in this document.
[0040] Referring to Figure 1, in one example, magnetic stimulation using the present disclosure is based on the movement of a magnetic field in the biological tissue of the body (C). The movement can be performed in two ways, the first way is by using the machine of the present disclosure to perform the method of the present disclosure, and the second way is by an operator performing the steps of the method of the present disclosure. The method of the present disclosure will be described later in this document.
[0041] For its part, the disclosed machine moves the coil (1) in different directions in a linear or circular path relative to the longitudinal axis of the body (C). For example, the machine can move the coil (1) in a Cartesian coordinate system with x, y, and z axes, where the x axis corresponds to the longitudinal direction, the y axis corresponds to the transverse direction of the body (C), and the z axis corresponds to the vertical direction of the body (C).
[0042] The machine makes it possible to rotate the coil (1) in a first path (100) or in a second path (101) that changes the angle between the axis of the coil (1) and the longitudinal axis of the tissue. In this way, the vector of the magnetic field is dramatically changed, establishing an organization of electromagnetic dipoles at the tissue cellular and intracellular levels.
[0043] For the purposes of understanding the present disclosure, it should be understood that the relocation of electromagnetic dipoles is the electromagnetic orientation of the cells that make up the tissue at the cellular and subcellular levels.
[0044] The cells making up the tissue are considered to be electromagnetic dipoles, which in turn are point elements that generate a dipole electromagnetic field that interacts with the magnetic field provided by the disclosed machine. By moving the magnetic field in three-dimensional space around the body containing the tissue, the electromagnetic orientation changes at the cellular and subcellular levels.
[0045] Optionally, the machine of the present disclosure moves the coil (1) maintaining its own axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body tissue (C) following a third path (102) along the z-axis.
[0046] Alternatively, in the same example, after performing the third pass (102), the machine rotates the coil (1) in the first pass (100) to change the angle between the axis of the coil (1) and the longitudinal tissue axis. In this way, the vector of the magnetic field is dramatically changed, establishing an electromagnetic dipole organization at the tissue cellular and intracellular levels.
[0047] In another specific example of the machine of the present disclosure, the coil (1) moves while maintaining its own axis coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the body tissue (C) following a fourth path (103) along the z-axis.
[0048] Optionally, in the same previous example, after performing the third pass (102), the machine rotates the coil (1) in the second pass (101) to change the angle between the axis of the coil (1) and the longitudinal axis of the tissue. In this way, an electromagnetic dipole is established at the cellular and subcellular level of the tissue.
[0049] Optionally, the direction of the path followed by the coils of the machine of the present disclosure depends on the shape of the body (C), said path following the length of said body (C).
[0050] Length is understood herein as the longest dimension of said flat body or three-dimensional body, which is generally significantly greater than any other dimension of the body.
[0051] The disclosed machine is capable of moving the coil (1) relative to the z-axis such that a path is generated in the magnetic field in a body (C). Preferably, the body (C) is a living organism such as a human or animal, or a part of said organism such as a hand, arm, leg, head, torso, said part of said organism comprising a tissue or a group of tissues.
[0052] On the other hand, the coil (1) is a device to which an electric current is supplied by a power source, generating a magnetic field. Preferably, the magnetic field extends from the inside to the outside of the coil (1) in a direction determined by the shape of the coil (1) and the direction of the electric current flowing through the coil (1). For example, the coil (1) can be circular, donut-shaped, elliptical, oval, triangular, square, rectangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal, or polygonal with four or more sides.
[0053] For the purposes of the understanding of this document, an electrical energy source is a device capable of maintaining a potential difference between two or more terminals, such as an alternating current source, a direct current source, a battery, a solar power source, a thermal power source, among others, a device capable of maintaining a difference in potential or voltage between two or more terminals known to those skilled in the art, or a combination. The source of electrical energy allows the supply of the power required for the operation of the coil (1).
[0054] It should be understood that in this disclosure, a movement pattern refers to a continuous organized movement following a trajectory determined for the body, said movement pattern can be represented by a mathematical formula, an algorithm, or a combination of both. In a specific example, said movement pattern involves stopping movement at a specific position in the trajectory and continuing after this stopping.

[0071] On the other hand, a decoupling circuit can decouple the source of electrical energy from the coil arrangement, said circuit can be based on optocouplers, relays, operational amplifiers, resistors, capacitors, transformers, diodes, thyristors, power transistors, BJTs, FETs, IGBTs, triacs, diacs, SCRs, electronic switching devices, combinations thereof, and other electronic elements for electrically decoupling two circuits or electrical elements.

[0074] Generally, the computing unit can control the movement of the magnetic stimulation machine of the present disclosure by actuating the motor mechanism of the machine and also by providing a supply of energy from an electrical energy source that is delivered to the coil (1).
[0075] In a specific example of the present disclosure, coil (1) is directly connected to a source of alternating current with a voltage between approximately 330 Vac (Volts of alternating current) and approximately 20 kVac (KiloVolts of alternating current) at between approximately 0.1 Hz and approximately 50 kHz.

[0077] In another specific example, the coil is coupled to a 120 Vac AC source at 60 Hz, in another example, the coil (1) is coupled to a 120 Vac AC source at 50 Hz, in another example, the coil (1) is coupled to a 220 Vac AC source at 60 Hz, in another example, the coil (1) is coupled to a 220 Vac AC source at 50 Hz, etc. However, the coil (1) may be operated with direct current based on the established pattern or may not be operated with the computer unit.
[0078] For the purposes of understanding this disclosure, the term Vac refers to the voltage or potential of an alternating current. In the same manner, the term "tissue" refers to biological tissue of an organism made of one or more cells, which may all be made of the same single class of cells, or may be made of several types of cells arranged in an orderly manner to form an organ or organism, or arranged by a group of organs or a group of organisms. The tissue may also refer to a cell in vivo, or to said cell prior to implantation in an in vivo environment.
[0079] Optionally, the tissue may be derived from or may be from an animal, including, but not limited to, mammals, birds, including chickens, turkeys, and ducks, fish, crustaceans (shrimp, lobsters, crayfish), and reptiles, such as crocodiles and alligators. The term "mammal" as used herein refers to any mammal classified as a mammal, including humans, non-human primates, such as cynomolgus monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, and gorillas, domestic and livestock animals, including horses, cows, pigs, goats, dogs, felines, ovine animals, rabbits, llamas, ungulates, such as cows, sheep, pigs, horses, goats, dogs, cats, mice, rabbits, and rodents, such as guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats.
[0080] Alternatively, the tissue is plant tissue and may be derived or from plants, including a wide range of plants including all plants, herbs, and lower plants such as fungi and algae.
[0081] Stimulation of biological tissue refers to the application of a magnetic field to said biological tissue to induce specific changes in properties of said biological tissue, such as tissue impedance response, tissue vascularization, tissue temperature, tissue health, tissue growth rate, among others.
[0082] Referring to FIG. 2, in an example of the present disclosure, with the aid of the machines and methods of the present disclosure, movement of the coil (1) is performed in an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body (C), which in this specific example is tissue in a human body.
[0083] In the example, the path of the coil (1) follows a movement pattern in a second predetermined path (TC2) in which the magnetic field is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body (C) throughout the entire path and throughout the ends of the path, and the orientation of the coil (1) relative to the body (C) is changed to follow the first path (100).
[0084] In a specific example, the second predetermined path (TC2) starts at the bottom of the body (C) and zigzags over the length of the body (C), following the first path (100) to change the orientation of the coil (1) relative to the body (C). In certain embodiments, the orientation of the coil (1) can be changed using an angular actuator that rotates the coil (1).
[0085] Alternatively, the method of the present disclosure may be performed by an operator holding the coil (1) and moving the coil (1) following a specific movement pattern to magnetically stimulate tissue of the body (C). For example, the operator may perform the movements of the coil (1) described.
[0086] In another example of the present disclosure, the movement of the coil (1) starts at an upper part of the body (C) and ends at a lower part of the body, for example at the foot.
[0087] For purposes of understanding the present disclosure, it will be understood that a zigzag trajectory corresponds to a set of points that a moving body follows in three or two dimensional space with a line that forms alternating incoming and outgoing angles.
[0088] In other embodiments of the disclosed machine and method, the second predetermined trajectory (TC2) for the body (C) is not limited to a zigzag trajectory, but is selected from a linear trajectory (e.g., straight line, zigzag), a curved trajectory (e.g., circular, parabolic, elliptical, pendulum, and oscillatory), or an irregular trajectory, among others, based on the configuration of the movement pattern established in the computing unit. In a specific example of the magnetic stimulation machine and method, the second predetermined trajectory (TC2) includes a movement for the same body (C) in a three-dimensional space around the body (C).
[0089] Optionally in the same example, the machine rotates the coil (1) in a first pass (100) or a second pass (101) to vary the angle between the axis of the coil (1) and the longitudinal axis of the tissue. In this manner, an electromagnetic dipole structure is established at the cellular and subcellular levels of the tissue of the body (C).
[0090] 3, in another example, the method of the present disclosure can cause the coil (1) to follow a first predetermined path (TC1) in which the magnetic field is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body (C). The magnetic stimulation machine positions the coil (1) to perform a circular movement in a flat plane parallel to the axis of the body (C).
[0091] Alternatively, in an embodiment similar to the example of FIG. 3, the coil (1) follows a first predetermined trajectory (TC1) in a planar plane parallel to the axis of the body (C), and said first predetermined trajectory (TC1) is combined with movements performed in a direction towards the axis of the body (C) or in a direction away from the body (C) in such a way that the coil moves towards or away from the body (C).
[0092] Optionally, said movement of the coil (1) towards or away from the body (C) is performed before, during and after following a first predetermined path (TC1).
[0093] Referring to FIG. 4, in a non-limiting example, similar to the example shown in FIG. 2, the machine of the present disclosure allows for movement of a coil (1) in a body (C), which in this particular example is a human arm or limb.
[0094] Specifically, FIG. 4 shows two examples, in the first example, a body (C) is stimulated with a coil (1) positioned in such a way as to generate a magnetic field in the longitudinal direction towards the axis of the body (C), and in the second example, the direction of the magnetic field is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body (C).
[0095] In the example shown in FIG. 4, the coil (1) of the disclosed machine follows a movement pattern that is concentric with the longitudinal axis of the body (C) in the direction of the z-axis and follows a fifth straight path (104) in a first stimulation step, and in a second step the movement pattern of the coil changes the direction of the coil axis (1) forming a right angle with the longitudinal axis of the body (C) according to a second path (101).
[0096] On the other hand, in the second example shown in FIG. 4, the axis of the coil (1) is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body (C), and in a first stimulation step, the movement pattern of the coil (1) follows a sixth straight trajectory (105) in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the body (C), maintaining the perpendicular orientation of the axis of the coil (1) to the longitudinal axis of the body (C), and in a second step, the movement pattern of the coil (1) changes direction in such a way that the axis of the coil (1) coincides with an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body (C) according to a third path (102).
[0097] With reference to FIG. 5, an example is taught which is the same as the example of FIG. 4, but in a first stimulation step, instead of the fifth straight trajectory (104), there is a second predetermined trajectory (TC2) in a zigzag pattern in the body (C), which is the human arm, and in a second step, the movement pattern of the coil (1) changes direction in such a way that said coil axis (1) coincides with an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body (C) according to the second trajectory (101).
[0098] Optionally, the initiation of the mentioned second stimulation step begins when the position of the coil (1) exceeds the length of the body (C).
[0099] In a specific example of the present disclosure, the coil (1) moves along a z-axis extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the body (C) being stimulated by an in situ magnetic field, the movement being generated by a first moving mechanism (2).
[0100] Referring to Figures 3 and 6, in this case the machine of the present disclosure can move a coil (1) generating a magnetic field along a first predetermined path (TC1), which can cause a curved path to be generated in the magnetic field in the body (C).
[0101] Referring to Figure 6, an example is shown similar to that of Figure 3, but now the body (C) corresponds to a person's arm. Optionally, the angle formed by the coil (1) with respect to the longitudinal axis of the arm can be changed to terminate tissue stimulation. Also, the coil (1) can be moved towards or away from the arm when stimulated.
[0102] Optionally, said movement of the coil (1) towards or away from the arm follows a particular trajectory, said trajectory being performed before, during or after a first predefined trajectory (TC1).
[0103] For example, when the angular actuator (12) positions the coil (1) horizontally, the third displacement mechanism (11) can move the coil (1) in a first predetermined path (TC1), and preferably, the first predetermined path (TC1) is closed and the coil (1) moves in a circular manner.
[0104] The first displacement mechanism (2) is selected from the group comprising, among others, a winch, a crane, a pneumatically, hydraulically, mechanically or electromechanically operated cylinder, a single-acting cylinder, a double-acting cylinder, a gantry provided with a chain, cable or belt hoist, where the hoist may have a slide allowing a movement perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, a scissor lift, a trolley guidance mechanism or a combination thereof.
[0105] The first displacement mechanism (2) may also be a mechanism that is operated by manual force, for example by a lever, a pulley, or a hoist.
[0106] 7, 8 and 11, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, a magnetic tissue stimulation machine comprises a coil (1) that generates a magnetic field, and a first displacement mechanism (2) coupled to the coil (1) and a carrying surface (S), the first displacement mechanism (2) moving the coil (1) around the tissue to stimulate the tissue.
[0107] In accordance with the above, the disclosed machine is capable of moving the coil (1) along the z-axis of a coordinate system in three dimensions relative to the body including the tissue, and in some embodiments the z-axis of the coordinate system coincides with the longitudinal axis of the body (C).
[0108] Optionally, a first displacement mechanism (2) moves the coil (1) along the z-axis of a coordinate system in three dimensions such that the magnetic field stimulates the body (C).
[0109] Optionally, the machine of the present disclosure can have the linear actuator (13) move the coil (1) along the x-axis following a seventh path (106), a ninth path (108), or an eleventh path (110), which can move the coil (1) towards or away from the body (C).
[0110] 7, 10, and 12, in another example, a magnetic stimulation machine of the present disclosure comprises a magnetic field, an angular actuator (12) coupled to a coil (1), and a first displacement mechanism (2) coupled to a support surface (S) and coupled to the angular actuator (12), where the first displacement mechanism (2) moves the coil (1) along the z-axis and the angular actuator (12) rotates the coil (1) to change the orientation of the coil (1), thereby changing the direction of a magnetic field that stimulates the body (C).
[0111] Alternatively, the first displacement mechanism (2) moves the coil (1) along the z-axis following the eighth path (107) or the tenth path (109).
[0112] The angular actuator (12) rotates the coil (1) to change the direction of the magnetic field that stimulates the body (C) by following a thirteenth trajectory (112).
[0113] Optionally, in a specific example of the disclosed machine, the first moving mechanism (2) is coupled to the coil (1) using an angular actuator (12), which rotates the coil (1) to change the direction of the magnetic field according to a thirteenth trajectory (112).
[0114] In a specific embodiment, the first moving mechanism (2) is coupled to a control circuit that controls the movement of the moving mechanism (2).
[0115] Alternatively, the movement of the first displacement mechanism (2) is commanded by an operator, who moves the coil (1) following a specific movement pattern to magnetically stimulate tissues of the body (C). According to the above, the machine of the present disclosure is capable of moving the coil (1) to change the direction of the magnetic field.
[0116] This is convenient for magnetically stimulating the body (C) from different angles, and for rotating the coil (1) to move the magnetic field away from the body (C). In this way, the stimulation of the magnetic field in the body (C) can be suddenly removed, thereby causing a relocation of the magnetic dipoles in the body tissue (C).
[0117] 8, the linear actuator (13) may be coupled to the angular actuator (12) using a mechanical coupling, for example, using fastening elements such as screws, bolts, pins, rivets, pin wedges, similar elements known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof. The linear actuator (13) may also be coupled to the angular actuator (12) using a fastener, jaw, splined shaft coupling, where a female shaft with a mating cavity is coupled to the angular actuator (12) or first linear actuator mechanism (13) and a male shaft is coupled to a socket of the female shaft located on the linear actuator (13) or angular actuator (12).
[0118] Optionally, the machine of the present disclosure can have the linear actuator (13) move the coil (1) along the x-axis following a ninth path (108) that can move the coil (1) towards or away from the body (C).
[0119] For example, if the angular actuator (12) is made of a gear motor having a first transmission element coupled to a second transmission element coupled thereto, the transmission element coupling to the angular actuator (12) and the coil (1) may be selected from the group consisting of belts, chains, racks, sprockets, pulleys, toothed pulleys, spur or helical gears, friction wheels, and combinations thereof.
[0120] Preferably, the transfer element connecting the coil (1) with the angular actuator (12) comprises a shaft bearing against a bearing located on a platform connected to the linear actuator (13). The bearing is selected from the group including pedestal bearings with tension pedestal, split, flange, elliptical flange and combinations of the above.
[0121] The bearing stand also includes a bushing and a bearing selected from a ball bearing, a needle bearing, a roller bearing, a double row ball bearing, a needle bearing, or a roller bearing, and combinations thereof.
[0122] Furthermore, when the angular actuator (12) comprises a motor or gear motor, preferably said motor or gear motor is coupled to the platform of the linear actuator (13) with fastening elements selected from the group including screws, bolts, rivets, pin wedges, rivets, similar elements known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof.
[0123] Referring to Figures 7, 8 and 9, the machine of the present disclosure may have a fourth displacement mechanism (15) coupled between the linear actuator (13) and the second displacement mechanism (8), the fourth displacement mechanism (15) being a second curved guide portion (19) connected to the second displacement mechanism (8); a fourth conveying section (20) movably connected to the second curved guide section (19); a fourth drive mechanism (21) connected to the fourth conveying section (20); Made from The fourth drive mechanism (21) moves the fourth transport section (20) along the second curved guide section (19), and the fourth displacement mechanism (15) moves the coil (1) along a second predetermined path (TC2).
[0124] Optionally, the fourth displacement mechanism (15) moves the coil (1) in a third predetermined path (TC3) in a direction opposite to that of the second predetermined path (TC2).
[0125] In this case, the machine of the present disclosure can move the magnetic field generated by the coil (1) in a second predetermined path (TC2), whereby a curved path can be generated in the magnetic field in the body (C).
[0126] For example, when the angular actuator (12) positions the coil (1) so that the magnetic field is projected vertically, the third displacement mechanism (11) can move the magnetic field in a second predetermined path (TC2). Preferably, the second predetermined path (TC2) is closed and the magnetic field moves in a circular manner.
[0127] Furthermore, by using the first displacement mechanism (2), the magnetic field generated by the coil (1) can be displaced in the z-axis, and the fourth displacement mechanism (15) moves the magnetic field in a second predetermined path (TC2). In this way, a stimulation in the helical path of the magnetic field is generated and impinges on the body (C).
[0128] The shape of the second predetermined path (TC2) is determined by the shape of the second curved guide (19). The second curved guide (19) can be circular, elliptical, polygonal with rounded corners (e.g. square, rectangular, triangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal or polygonal with four or more sides). The shape of the first curved guide (16) can also be formed from a curve with a varying radius of curvature. Preferably, the first curved guide (16) is closed, whereby the third conveyor (17) can move continuously in a circular manner.
[0129] Similarly, the second curved guide (19) may be formed from a rail with a T-shaped or L-shaped cross section, or the second curved guide (19) may be formed from a profile with an I-shaped, U-shaped, C-shaped or T-shaped cross section.
[0130] In part, the fourth conveyor section (20) may be similar to the first conveyor section (3) and the second conveyor section (10), and the fourth drive mechanism (21) may be similar to the first drive mechanism (6).
[0131] Preferably, the fourth conveying section (20) has rolling elements (4) moving in the second curved guide section (19), one of the rolling elements (4) being driven by a fourth drive mechanism (21). Furthermore, the fourth drive mechanism (21) is preferably an electric gear motor.
[0132] On the other hand, the first guide portion (5), the second guide portion (9), the first curved guide portion (16) and the second curved guide portion (19) may be made of any of the following materials: carbon steel, cast iron, galvanized iron, chrome steel, chrome-nickel steel, chrome-nickel-titanium steel, nickel-chrome-molybdenum-tungsten alloy, iron-chrome-molybdenum alloy, 301 stainless steel, 302 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel, stainless steel 316, 405 stainless steel, 410 stainless steel, 430 stainless steel, 442 stainless steel, manganese alloy steel, aluminum, metals such as brass, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide (PA) (e.g. The material is preferably selected from the group comprising (initial letters in English) plastic materials such as polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE), fiber-reinforced plastics (polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, vinyl resin) (e.g. glass, aramid, polyester), wood (e.g. coniferous woods such as pine, oak, walnut, hardwood, fir, larch, spruce, other woods suitable for structural applications known to the skilled person), polymers (e.g. polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, vinyl resin) reinforced with fibers (e.g. polyester, glass, aramid, carbon), other materials suitable for structural applications known to the skilled person, and combinations thereof.
[0133] 10, in one example, the first displacement mechanism (2) can be a conveying guide mechanism comprising a first conveying part (3) moving along a first guide part (5). For example, the first conveying part (3) can have a rolling element (4) that engages with the first guide part (5). The rolling element (4) can be selected from the group consisting of wheels, rubber wheels, rimmed wheels, wheels for rails, roller casters, similar elements known to those skilled in the art, or / and combinations thereof.
[0134] For its part, the first guide portion (5) can be a rail or a structural profile. The first guide portion (5) can be selected from the group including a T-shaped rail or an L-shaped rail. The first guide portion (5) can also be selected from a structural profile with an I-shaped, U-shaped, C-shaped or T-shaped cross section, and the first guide portion (5) and the first conveying portion (3) can be connected by a dovetail joint.
[0135] 10 and 12, for example, the z-axis can extend vertically, whereby movement of the first displacement mechanism (2) along the first guide (5) can vary the height of the coil (1), in which case the first guide (5) is coupled to a support surface (S) that is arranged horizontally.
[0136] Preferably, the support surface (S) is selected from a level floor, a concrete mortar, a platform, a platform on which a leveller is placed, a pallet floor, or a table, similar support surfaces known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof.
[0137] For example, if the support surface (S) is a horizontal floor or a platform with a leveller, the first guide part (5) is ensured to be in a vertical position, so that the coil (1) can move along the axis z without deviation.
[0138] 10, the first conveying part (3) may be coupled to a first drive mechanism (6) which generates the movement of the first conveying part (3) along the first guide part (5). Furthermore, the first guide part (5) may comprise a rack coupled to a gear arranged on the rolling element (4) of the first conveying part (3). The gear is coupled to the first drive mechanism (6) with a transmission element selected from a gear, a toothed belt, a chain, a chain sprocket, and combinations thereof.
[0139] Optionally, the first motive mechanism (6) is selected from an electric motor, an internal combustion motor, a pneumatic motor, a hydraulic motor, or a gear motor, other types of equivalent motors known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof.
[0140] A first drive mechanism (6) is coupled to the first transport section (3) for movement therein.
[0141] Meanwhile, optionally, the first drive mechanism (6) can be placed in an elevated position higher than the maximum working height of the machine. In this case, the first prime mover mechanism (6) can be coupled to the first conveyor (3) using cables, chains, belts, and combinations thereof, such that the first conveyor (3) is suspended from the first prime mover mechanism (6). This option makes it possible to avoid mounting the first drive mechanism (6) on the first conveyor (3), thereby saving energy during the operation of the first moving mechanism (2).
[0142] On the other hand, if the first motor mechanism (6) is selected from electric motors, these may be selected from stepping motors, squirrel cage motors, asynchronous motors, DC motors, motors with start-up assistance, and combinations thereof.
[0143] Also, in the case of gear motors, these may be selected from the group including worm gear motors, gear motors, cycloidal gearboxes, planetary gearboxes, internal gear reducers, external gear reducers, other gear motors known to those skilled in the art, and combinations of the above.
[0144] In the present disclosure, it is understood that a gear motor comprises a motor and a reduction gear for varying the torque and speed of said motor. The motor of the geared motor may be selected from an electric motor, an internal combustion engine, an air motor, a hydraulic motor. Preferably, the gear motor comprises an electric motor.
[0145] Furthermore, the first conveying part (3) may be driven by a first hand-powered motive mechanism (6), for example by a lever, pulley or winch coupled to the first conveying part (3).
[0146] Optionally, the first drive mechanism (6) is selected from a mechanical winch, an electrical winch, a chain, a belt, a cable pulling mechanism, an adhesive winch, a drum winch, similar winches known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof.
[0147] For example, the first conveying section (3) is coupled to the first motive mechanism (6) by a traction element selected from a cable, a belt, a chain, and combinations thereof. In this manner, the first guide section (5) allows the first conveying section (3) to remain aligned with the z-axis, while the first drive mechanism (6) exerts a force to move the first conveying section (3).
[0148] Optionally, the first drive mechanism (6) is coupled to a braking device (7), where the braking device (7) is selected from the group including an electric brake braking device (e.g., an electromagnetic braking device, an electro-hydraulic braking device, a motor-integrated braking device), a reverse braking device, a DC-injected braking device, other braking devices known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof.
[0149] For example, an electromagnetic or electrohydraulic brake may consist of a disk connected to the power shaft of the first drive mechanism (6) and a shoe against which the disk clamps when the brake is activated.
[0150] Specifically, the electromagnetic braking device has an electrical circuit that detects when the first drive mechanism (6) is actuated and holds the brake shoes open. When the electrical circuit does not detect that the first motor mechanism (6) is actuated, the electrical circuit closes the shoes, blocking the power shaft of the first motor mechanism (6).
[0151] For its part, the electrohydraulic braking system includes a hydraulic system with a hydraulic pump, an actuator coupled to the shoes, and a solenoid valve coupled between the actuator and the hydraulic pump. The solenoid valve has an electrical circuit that detects when the first drive mechanism (6) is actuated and holds the brake shoes open. When the electrical circuit does not detect that the first motor mechanism (6) is actuated, the electrical circuit closes the shoes and blocks the power shaft of the first motor mechanism (6).
[0152] On the other hand, when the first moving mechanism (2) has a manually operated first motor mechanism (6), the first conveying part (3) may be provided with a manually operated braking device (7), for example a braking device (7) with a wedge mechanism, a pressing part, a pin or a jaw part that blocks the first conveying part (3) against the first guiding part (5).
[0153] Also, in the case of the example in which the cable-operated first drive mechanism (6) is operated manually, the first drive mechanism (6) may comprise a pulling cable and a safety cable, the cable being coupled to an emergency brake having an acceleration sensor making it possible to detect if the traction cable breaks, thereby activating the emergency brake by blocking the safety cable.
[0154] Locking the safety cable is important to prevent the coil (1) from getting out of control. If the coil (1) gets out of control, it may hit the body (C). Also, if the body (C) is a living being, the coil (1) may hit the living being and cause damage to the living being.
[0155] On the other hand, the first displacement mechanism (2) may be coupled to the angular actuator (12) using a mechanical coupling, for example, using fastening elements selected from screws, bolts, pins, rivets, pin wedges, similar elements known to those skilled in the art, and combinations thereof.
[0156] Additionally, the first displacement mechanism (2) can be coupled to the angular actuator (12) using a fastener, jaw, or splined shaft connection, where a female shaft with a mating cavity can be coupled to the angular actuator (12) or the first displacement mechanism (2), and a male shaft is coupled to a socket of the female shaft located on the first displacement mechanism (2) or the angular actuator (12).
[0157] Preferably, the angular actuator (12) is mechanical and comprises a motor or gear motor coupled to a pinion-chain, pinion-rack or worm gear mechanism, in which case the angular actuator (12) may comprise a brake device (7) as the brake device (7) of the first displacement mechanism (2).
[0158] The braking device (7) may be coupled to the motor or gear motor of the angular actuator (12). The braking device (7) allows braking the motor and maintaining the angular actuator (12) in a fixed angular position, whereby the coil (1) may be tilted and maintained in a desired angular position.
[0159] Similarly, the motor or gear motor of the angular actuator (12) can be similar to the first motor mechanism (6).
[0160] On the other hand, the angular actuator (12) is selected from pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electromechanical actuators and combinations thereof, which may include single-acting, double-acting, spring-assisted return, pneumatic or valve-assisted hydraulic actuators (e.g., distributor, blocking, regulating, continuous, solenoid valves), mechanical actuators with motors, geared motors, and power transmission mechanisms (e.g., toothed pulleys, pinions, chain sprockets, spur gears, helical gears, chains, toothed belts, and combinations thereof).
[0161] For example, if the angular actuator (12) is made of a gear motor with a first transmission element coupled to a second transmission element coupled thereto, the second transmission element is coupled to the coil (1) by means of a shaft. The shaft coupled to the coil (1) allows to vary the angle of the coil (1) by rotating the coil (1) with respect to the x-axis and / or the z-axis. Preferably, the coil rotates around the x-axis or the y-axis.
[0162] In this case, the transmission element connecting the angular actuator (12) and the coil (1) may be selected from the group consisting of belts, chains, racks, chain sprockets (sprockets in English), pulleys, toothed pulleys, straight or spiral gears, friction wheels, and combinations thereof.
[0163] Preferably, the transmission element connecting the coil (1) with the angular actuator (12) is arranged in a bearing located on a platform connected to the first displacement mechanism (2). The bearing is selected from the group including bearings with tension pedestal, split, flange, elliptical flange and combinations of the above.
[0164] However, in another embodiment of the magnetic tissue stimulation machine of the present disclosure, the magnetic tissue stimulation machine comprises: A coil (1) that generates a magnetic field; an angular actuator (12) coupled to the coil (1); a first displacement mechanism (2) coupled to the support surface (S) and connected to an angular actuator (12); a linear actuator (13) coupled between the angular actuator (12) and the first displacement mechanism (2); Equipped with A linear actuator (13) moves the coil (1) along the x-axis, a first moving mechanism (2) moves the coil (1) along the z-axis, and an angular actuator (12) rotates the coil (1) to change the direction of the magnetic field, which stimulates the body (C).
[0165] In this case, the machine of the present disclosure causes the linear actuator (13) to move the coil (1) along the x-axis, preferably perpendicular to the z-axis. The displacement of the coil (1) in the x-axis makes it possible to generate a linear movement of a magnetic field, whereby a path in the x-axis of said magnetic field can be generated in the body (C).
[0166] Additionally, a linear actuator (13) may be simultaneously actuated with the first displacement mechanism (2) to generate axial motion together with the magnetic field in the body (C).
[0167] Optionally, the machine of the present disclosure can have the linear actuator (13) move the coil (1) along the x-axis following a seventh path (106), which can move the coil (1) towards or away from the body (C).
[0168] Alternatively, the angular actuator (12) can position the coil (1) so that the magnetic field is oriented horizontally. For example, Figures 7 and 13 show a circular coil (1) that is vertically positioned with the angular actuator (12) such that the magnetic field projects axially from the coil (1) along the x-axis.
[0169] Alternatively, in a specific embodiment of the machine of the present disclosure, the angular actuator (12) rotates the coil (1) in a fourth predetermined path (TC4) to change the angle between the axis of the coil (1) and the longitudinal axis of the tissue.
[0170] In this method, the magnetic field acts on the body (C) in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body (C). For example, when the body (C) is a human body, the magnetic field can act on the whole of the human body. Also, when the human body is rotated, the magnetic field acts on the back or side of the body (C).
[0171] In the same manner, the machine can actuate the first displacement mechanism (2) to move the coil (1) along the z-axis. Returning to the example where the body (C) is a human body, the first movement mechanism (2) can move the coil (1) along the body (C), thereby generating a path with a magnetic field in the direction of the z-axis.
[0172] On the other hand, the linear actuator (13) is selected from the group including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electromechanical actuators, and combinations thereof. Optionally, the pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electromechanical actuators are selected from single-acting, double-acting, spring-assisted return, pneumatic, or valve-assisted hydraulic actuators (e.g., distributor, blocking, regulating, continuous, solenoid valves), and combinations thereof.
[0173] Referring to FIG. 10, an embodiment of a magnetic tissue stimulation machine of the present disclosure includes: A coil (1) that generates a magnetic field; an angular actuator (12) coupled to the coil (1); a first displacement mechanism (2) coupled to the support surface (S) and connected to an angular actuator (12); a second displacement mechanism (8) coupled between the first displacement mechanism (2) and the angular actuator (12); a linear actuator (13) coupled between the angular actuator (12) and the first displacement mechanism (2); Equipped with A linear actuator (13) moves the coil (1) along the x-axis, a first displacement mechanism (2) moves the coil (1) along the z-axis, an angular actuator (12) rotates the coil (1) to change the direction of the magnetic field, and a second displacement mechanism (8) moves the coil (1) along the y-axis so that the magnetic field stimulates the body (C).
[0174] According to the above, the coil (1) can be moved along an axis y, preferably perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the stimulated body (C). This movement in the transverse direction can be generated by mechanically coupling the coil (1) to a second displacement mechanism (8), which is then coupled between the first displacement mechanism (2) and the angular actuator (12), and which moves the coil (1) along the y axis.
[0175] Similarly, the combination of the first displacement mechanism (2), the angular actuator (12), the linear actuator (13), and the second displacement mechanism (8) can move the coil (1) in three dimensions relative to the coordinate axes and the orthogonal x, y, z system, and can rotate the coil (1) relative to one of the axes of the coordinate system using the angular actuator (12). Thus, the magnetic field can be oriented to move the body (C) along a straight path, a curved path, a helical path, and combinations thereof.
[0176] Optionally, the first displacement mechanism (2), the angular actuator (12), the linear actuator (13) and the second displacement mechanism (8) are electrically actuated using a computing unit.
[0177] The calculator can determine an actuation sequence using a movement pattern of the first displacement mechanism (2), the angular actuator (12), the linear actuator (13), and the second displacement mechanism (8) to follow a predetermined path (e.g., straight, curved, diagonal) for the displacement of the coil (1) that generates a magnetic field.
[0178] For its part, the second displacement mechanism (8) is selected from the group including, among others, a winch, a crane, a pneumatically, hydraulically, mechanically or electromechanically operated cylinder, a single-acting cylinder, a double-acting cylinder, a gantry provided with a chain, cable or strap hoist, where the hoist may have a slide allowing movement perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, a scissor lift, a trolley guide mechanism, or a combination thereof.
[0179] The second displacement mechanism (8) may also be a mechanism that is operated by manual force, for example by a lever, pulley, or winch.
[0180] 10, 11, and 12, for example, the second displacement mechanism (8) can be a conveying and guiding mechanism like the first displacement mechanism (2). In this case, the second displacement mechanism (8) is a conveying and guiding mechanism including a second guide unit (9) coupled to the support surface (S) and a second conveying unit (10) movably coupled to the second guide unit (9). Similarly, the second moving mechanism (8) has a second motor mechanism (22) coupled to the second conveying unit (10), where the second motor mechanism (22) moves the second conveying unit (10) along the second guide unit (9) according to the thirteenth trajectory (112).
[0181] The second drive mechanism (22) may be of the same type as the first drive mechanism (6) and may include a brake device (7) capable of fixing the position of the coil (1) in the y-axis position.
[0182] Similarly, the second movement mechanism (8) may comprise a rack arranged in a second guide part (9) coupled to a gear arranged in a rolling element (4) of the second conveying part (10).
[0183] 10 and 12, optionally the machine comprises a rotating platform (23) positioned on the support surface (S), the body (C) being placed on the rotating platform (23). The rotating platform (23) can rotate the body (C) in order to vary the region of occurrence of the magnetic field generated by the coil (1).
[0184] The turntable (23) includes a drive mechanism selected from a motor, a gear motor, a lever, a crank mechanism, a gear mechanism, a chain mechanism, a pinion mechanism, a chain sprocket mechanism, a pulley mechanism, a toothed pulley mechanism, and combinations thereof.
[0185] Preferably, the turntable 23 rests on a structure having movable supports that allow rotational movement of said turntable 23. For example, the movable bearings can be ball joints, bearings, concentric disks, and combinations thereof.
[0186] For example, the turntable (23) comprises a table anchored to a support surface (S). The table has a horizontal platen with bearings that engage a moving shaft. The moving shaft is coupled to the rotating table on which the body (C) is placed. The moving shaft is also coupled to a drive mechanism, which is a gear motor, through a helical pinion transmission that is connected at 90 degrees.
[0187] Referring to Figures 8, 9 and 10, on the other hand, the machine of the present disclosure in a specific example includes a third displacement mechanism (11) coupled between the angular actuator (12) and the linear actuator (13), the third displacement mechanism (11) is coupled to a distal end of the shaft (14) of the linear actuator (13), and the third displacement mechanism (11) is A first curved guide portion (16) connected to the shaft member (14); a third conveying section (17) movably connected to the first curved guide section (16); a third drive mechanism (18) connected to the third conveying section (17); Made from The third drive mechanism (18) moves the third transport section (17) along the first curved guide section (16), and the third displacement mechanism (11) moves the coil (1) in a first predetermined path (TC1).
[0188] Also, by using a linear actuator (13), the magnetic field generated by the coil (1) can be displaced in the x-axis, and a third displacement mechanism (11) moves the magnetic field in a first predetermined path (TC1). In this way, a magnetic stimulation with a helical path can be generated along the tissue of the body (C).
[0189] The shape of the first predetermined path (TC1) is determined by the shape of the first curved guide (16). The first curved guide (16) can be circular, elliptical, polygonal with rounded corners (e.g. square, rectangular, triangular, pentagonal, hexagonal, octagonal or polygonal with four or more sides). The shape of the first curved guide (16) can also be formed from curves with varying radii of curvature. Preferably, the first curved guide (16) is closed, whereby the third conveyor (17) can move continuously in a circular manner.
[0190] Similarly, the first curved guide (16) may be formed from a rail with a T-shaped or L-shaped cross section, or the first curved guide (16) may be formed from a profile with an I-shaped, U-shaped, L-shaped, C-shaped, or L-shaped cross section.
[0191] 8, 9, and 10, for its part, the third transport section (17) may be similar to the first transport section (3) and the second transport section (10), and the third drive mechanism (18) may be similar to the first drive mechanism (6).
[0192] Preferably, the third conveying section (17) has rolling elements (4) moving in the first curved guide section (16), one of the rolling elements (4) being driven by a third drive mechanism (18). Furthermore, the third drive mechanism (18) is preferably an electric gear motor.
[0193] Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 14, a flow chart of a specific embodiment of the method of magnetic stimulation of tissue of a body (C) of the present disclosure includes the steps of a) operably positioning a coil (1) in tissue of a body (C), b) generating a magnetic field using the coil (1), and c) moving the coil (1) according to a determined movement pattern around the tissue to stimulate the tissue.
[0194] In an embodiment of the method disclosed herein, step a) of operably positioning the coil (1) in tissue of the body (C) corresponds to positioning the coil (1) in three-dimensional space at a position at a determined distance from the body tissue (C).
[0195] In specific embodiments of the methods disclosed herein, the distance between the coil (1) and the tissue varies according to a movement pattern established by an operator, defined in a computing device implementing the method, or simply by having the operator follow the method steps described throughout this document.
[0196] In a specific example, referring to FIG. 2, a body (C) corresponding to a human is shown, and the arrangement of coil (1) corresponds to a point in three-dimensional space around said body (C), the axis of coil (1) is coaxial with the longitudinal axis of body (C), and coil (1) is at the height of the sole of the body (C).
[0197] Furthermore, the placement of the coil (1) is not limited to the sole of the foot, but in other embodiments of the disclosed method corresponds to a point in three-dimensional space where a body (C) may or may not be present.
[0198] In the same example of the method disclosed and described above, the positioning of the coil (1) is performed by a machine for magnetic tissue stimulation controlled by a computing device, such as the machine of the present disclosure.
[0199] In other examples described herein, the act of placing the coil (1) is performed by an operator holding the coil (1).
[0200] In an embodiment of the disclosed method in step b), the magnetic field generated by the coil (1) follows an actuation signal.
[0201] In said embodiment, the actuation signal received by the coil (1) is a signal selected from AC current, DC current, pulse, alternating or non-alternating pulse train, square wave, triangular wave, sawtooth wave, amplitude modulated wave, frequency modulated wave, phase modulated wave, pulse position modulated wave, oscillating wave, or combinations thereof, which is generated by a calculator or by a signal generator based on a program and feedback, or combinations of the above.
[0202] In this specific embodiment of the disclosed method, the program referred to in this document corresponds to coded or uncoded information in a computing device, said program modifying all of the parameters of the actuation signal that actuates the coil 1. For example, the program can be a binary coded file embedded in a microcontroller (a computer unit of a control circuit) that executes a logical sequence of steps.
[0203] Optionally, in other embodiments of the disclosed methods, the calculator may apply one or more trigger signals to the array of coils at sequentially determined times, out of sync with other trigger signals or signals, either randomly or according to a program established for each of the coils (1) of the coil array.
[0204] In a specific example of the method of the present disclosure, the drive signal is from an alternating current source at a voltage between about 330 Vac and about 20 kVac at a frequency between about 0.1 Hz and about 50 Hz, e.g., 120 Vac at 60 Hz, 120 Vac at 50 Hz, 220 Vac at 60 Hz, 220 Vac at 50 Hz, etc. However, the coil (1) can be operated with direct current.
[0205] In another example of the disclosed method, in step c), the movement pattern follows a path around the longitudinal axis of the tissue.
[0206] Optionally, the movement pattern accommodates the degrees of freedom of the magnetic tissue stimulation mechanism disclosed herein.
[0207] In this document, when we talk about the degrees of freedom of a stimulation machine, we are referring to the movements of the parts of the machine that include translations in three perpendicular axes in three-dimensional space, such as allowing vertical, horizontal, forward, backward, left, right, up, and down movements, rotations, or any combination of forward movements.
[0208] In another embodiment of the method of the present disclosure, in step b), the generated magnetic field has a strength between approximately 0.1 mT and approximately 200 mT. In these ranges of magnetic field strengths, it is possible to optimally stimulate tissue without injuring it.
[0209] In another embodiment of the method of the present disclosure, in step b), the generated magnetic field has a strength between approximately 40 mT and approximately 200 mT. In these ranges of magnetic field strengths, it is possible to optimally stimulate tissue without injuring it.
[0210] Optionally, in steps a) and c), an operator performs the actions of positioning and moving the coil.
[0211] Alternatively, in steps a) and c), a moving machine performs the acts of positioning and moving the coil.
[0212] In a different embodiment of the method of the present disclosure, in step b) the activation signal is generated by an electrical and magnetic stimulation device.
[0213] Optionally, in a specific example of the device and method of the present disclosure, in step c), the actuation signal is generated by an electrical and magnetic stimulation device, such as that of U.S. Patent No. 5,399,433, entitled "Device for electrical and magnetic stimulation of tissues", which provides an electric current to the coil (1) of the magnetic stimulation machine of the present disclosure and provides oscillations of a magnetic field.
[0214] In the same example, another computing unit may control the movement of the machine of the present disclosure.
[0215] In a specific example of the method of the present disclosure, in step c), the movement pattern comprises a three-dimensional trajectory selected from the group of a linear trajectory, a curvilinear trajectory (e.g., a circle, a parabola, an ellipse, a spiral, a helix, a spiral), and combinations thereof.
[0216] In another example of the disclosed method, in step c), the movement pattern varies the orientation of the coil relative to the tissue, and in particular relative to a longitudinal axis of the tissue.
[0217] Referring to FIG. 15, a flow chart of a specific embodiment of another embodiment of the method of the present disclosure is shown, in which in step c) the movement pattern is: i) moving the coil (1) following a movement pattern in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tissue until the position of the coil (1) exceeds the length of the body tissue (C); ii) changing the orientation of the coil (1) so that the axis of the coil (1) forms a 90 degree angle with the longitudinal axis of the tissue; The following will be implemented.
[0218] The above embodiment makes it possible to suddenly remove the stimulation of a magnetic field in the body (C), thereby causing a relocation of magnetic dipoles in the body tissue (C).
[0219] For the purposes of the understanding of this document, a movement pattern refers to a sequentially organized set of actions or movements, the combination of which allows the movement of the coil (1) around the body (C) including the tissue to be stimulated, and the resulting movement of the magnetic field vector in three-dimensional space.
[0220] In a specific example of the disclosed method, sub-step ii) corresponds to removing the electrical supply from the coil, which destructively removes the stimulation of the magnetic field stimulating the tissue, allowing the configuration of polarization of each of the tissue particles to remain unchanged at the end of the stimulation of said tissue.
[0221] 16, a flow diagram of another specific embodiment of the disclosed method is shown, where after sub-step ii), a second pattern of moving the coil is followed, while maintaining the coil at 90 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the tissue, followed by sub-step iii) of gradually moving the coil away from the tissue, which allows the tissue to gradually cease stimulating and leave the magnetic dipoles of the body's tissue cells (C) to reorganize.
[0222] Example 1: Magnetic stimulation machine with four degrees of freedom In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the machine has a coil (1) which is a Helmholtz coil operating at a voltage between 330V and 20kV and generating a magnetic field in the body between 0.1mT and 200mT, preferably between 40mT and 200mT.
[0223] In this case, the body (C) is a person as shown in Figure 10, and the machine has a mechanical angular actuator (12) and comprises a gear motor with an electromagnetic brake (7). The gear motor is bolted to a platform that is located on a linear actuator (13). Furthermore, the gear motor of the angular actuator (12) has a first transmission element connected to a second transmission element, the transmission elements connecting the coil (1) with the angular actuator (12) comprise shafts that support each other in single row ball bearing pillow blocks. The bearings are bolted to the deck.
[0224] Meanwhile, the machine has a first movement mechanism (2) and a second movement mechanism (8), both movement mechanisms (2, 8) being conveying and guiding mechanisms, each of which comprises a conveying part (3, 10) having a rolling element (4) engaging with a guiding part (5, 9).
[0225] Each guide (5, 9) is a T-shaped profile against which the rolling element (4) bears, and each guide (5, 9) has a rack that is connected to a gear located on the rolling element (4) of the conveying part (3, 10), and both movement mechanisms (2, 8) have a drive mechanism (6, 22) that is a geared motor that is connected to the gear of the rolling element (4), and each movement mechanism (2, 8) is connected to the conveying part (3, 10) by means of a bolt.
[0226] Meanwhile, the first moving mechanism (2), the angular actuator (12), the linear actuator (13) and the second moving mechanism (8) are coupled to a programmable logic controller (PLC).
[0227] In this embodiment of the disclosure, the combination of the first displacement mechanism (2), the angular actuator (12), the linear actuator (13), and the second displacement mechanism (8) can move the coil (1) in three dimensions relative to a system of coordinates and orthogonal axes x, y, z, and can rotate the coil (1) relative to one of the axes of the coordinate system using the angular actuator (12). Thus, the magnetic field can be oriented to move the body (C) along a straight path, a curved path, a helical path, and combinations thereof.
[0228] The calculator can determine the actuation sequence using the movement pattern of the first displacement mechanism (2), the angular actuator (12), the linear actuator (13) and the second displacement mechanism (8) to follow a predetermined path (e.g., straight, curved, diagonal) for the coil (1) generating the magnetic field. Furthermore, the magnetic field is generated using an actuation signal with a square wave with a fixed useful period of 15%, a peak-to-peak voltage of 330 volts and a frequency of 1 kHz, the actuation signal being programmed into the same calculator.
[0229] Example 2: Magnetic Stimulation Machine with Five Degrees of Freedom In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the machine of Example 1 is taken and a rotating platform (23) is added that is positioned on a support surface (S) and a body (C) is placed on the rotating platform (23). The rotating platform (23) comprises a table that is anchored to the support surface (S).
[0230] The machines and methods described in this disclosure are not limited to the exact details described and illustrated, and there are variations and possible modifications, as will be apparent to those skilled in the art, that do not depart from the spirit of the disclosure, as defined solely by the scope of the following claims.
