AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing technologies do not effectively enhance the adhesion between a metal wire material and a resin molded material, particularly in long metal wire applications, where the adhesion strength is not adequately increased on the outer peripheral surface but rather in the ridge groove.

Method used

The solution involves forming grooves in the intermediate portions of long metal wire materials and subjecting these grooves to surface treatments, such as fine irregularities created by laser light irradiation, to enhance adhesion with the resin molded material.

Benefits of technology

This approach significantly increases the adhesion between the metal wire and the resin molding material, making it difficult to separate the resin molding member from the metal wire, even under longitudinal forces.

Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a joint between a metal wire and a resin molding and to the metal wire. [Background technology]

[0002] Patent Document 1 describes a resin composite molding having sufficient adhesion and airtightness between dissimilar materials, metal and resin, by providing a plurality of depressions or grooves on the surface of a metal component to be resin molded, and providing a metal splash solidification portion consisting of a ridge-like protrusion formed from the molten metal component by a high-density energy beam such as a laser beam or an electron beam, or a protrusion having a constricted portion with a spherical bump at its tip, on the plurality of depressions or grooves and on the surface of the remaining metal component.

[0003] However, the metal member molded with the resin member has a plurality of recesses or grooves and a metal splash solidification portion on the surface of the remaining metal member that enhances adhesive strength, and the remainder on which the metal splash solidification portion is provided is the outer peripheral surface of the metal member. Patent Document 1 does not mention that a groove is formed in the middle of the long metal wire rod, or that a surface treatment is applied to the groove to enhance adhesive strength, rather than to the outer peripheral surface. [Figure 8] 1A to 1C are diagrams showing the manufacturing process of a joint between a metal wire and a resin molding. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0009] 1 and 2(a) and (b) show a joint 10 of a metal wire and a resin molded material in which a resin molded material 3 is tightly bonded to a groove 2 formed in the middle of a long metal wire 1. In FIG. 1, the groove 2 of the metal wire 1 is subjected to a surface treatment illustrated by fine irregularities 1A. The joint 10 of the metal wire and the resin molded material shows that two metal wires 1 are bonded to the resin molded material 3, but the metal wires 1 may be three or more. The metal wires 1 of the joint 10 of the metal wire and the resin molded material can be used as an electrical connection terminal, and the resin molded material 3 can be used as an insulated housing for the electrical connection terminal. The material of the resin molded material 3 is a thermoplastic resin such as PPS resin, PEEK resin, PP resin, PBT resin, ABS resin, etc., and may contain inorganic fibers such as glass fibers, or may be a thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin.

[0010] (Regarding metal wire grooves) The long metal wire 1 of the present invention has a circular or angular cross section, and is made of, for example, copper or its alloy, or aluminum or its alloy. A groove 2 is formed in the middle of the long metal wire 1, and the groove 2 is not a simple recess but a linear groove extending in the length direction. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the groove 2 is formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal wire 1, but may be formed only on the upper surface or on the entire circumference from the upper and lower surfaces to the left and right sides.

[0011] (Regarding the formation of grooves in metal wires) The groove 2 of the present invention may be formed by grinding, but is formed by cold forging to crush the metal wire 1 as shown in Fig. 5. In Fig. 5, the cold forging device 4 is composed of punches 42, 42 that move up and down in the forging space 43 between dies 41, 41, and the tips of the punches 42, 42 have protruding stripes 42A, 42A that protrude in the up and down direction and extend in the left and right direction. The metal wire 1 having a square cross section is placed in this forging space 43, and the punches 42, 42 are moved in the up and down direction (arrow P direction), and pressure is applied to the metal wire 1 from the up and down direction, and the protruding stripes 42A, 42A plastically deform the metal wire 1, so that the groove 2 is formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal wire 1 as shown in Fig. 4. Although not shown, the punches 42, 42 may also be pressed from the left and right direction to the metal wire 1 to plastically deform it, so that the groove 2 is formed all around the circumference from the upper and lower surfaces to the left and right sides.

[0012] (Surface treatment of metal wire grooves) The groove 2 formed in the middle of the long metal wire 1 of the present invention is subjected to a surface treatment to enhance the adhesive strength with the resin molding 3. In the present invention, the adhesive strength in the surface treatment to enhance the adhesive strength is described as the action of closely bonding the metal wire 1 and the resin molding 3 so as to seal airtight or watertight, and the surface treatment method can be exemplified by forming a thin film layer made of a chemical treatment agent such as any one of mercapto group, thiocarbonyl group, cyano group, isocyanate group, amino group, ammonium group, pyridinium group, azinyl group, carboxyl group, benzotriazole group, triazinethiol group, etc., or a combination thereof, or forming fine irregularities. As a preferred surface treatment, as shown in FIG. 3, fine irregularities 1A are formed on the surface of the groove 2 by melting metal, and as a method of forming the fine irregularities 1A in the groove 2 by irradiating laser light, as shown in FIG. 6. In Fig. 6, a metal wire 1 having fine irregularities 1A formed in the grooves 2 is obtained by irradiating the grooves 2 from above and below with laser light L described in Japanese Patent No. 6879615 owned by the present applicant. The fine irregularities 1A are not present on the outer peripheral surface of the metal wire 1 but are present in the grooves 2.

[0013] (Metal wire and resin molding joints) In the joint 10 of the metal wire and the resin molding material of the present invention, the surface of the groove 2 formed in the middle of the long metal wire 1 is subjected to a surface treatment, for example, fine irregularities 1A formed by metal melting by laser irradiation, and the resin molding material 3 is tightly joined to the groove 2, so that even if the metal wire 1 is subjected to a force in the length direction (X direction in FIG. 1), the resin molding material 3 is prevented from moving in the longitudinal direction within the groove 2, and the surface treatment that increases the adhesive force with the resin molding material 3 makes it difficult for the resin molding material 3 to separate from the metal wire 1. Furthermore, if the fine irregularities 1A are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the metal wire 1, the tip of the fine irregularities 1A will protrude from the surface of the metal wire 1, and in the operation process of feeding the long metal wire 1 in the longitudinal direction, it is necessary to take measures to prevent the tip of the fine irregularities 1A from getting caught by the operating device, but in the present invention, the fine irregularities 1A formed in the groove 2 are not formed on the outer peripheral surface of the metal wire 1, so such measures are not necessary.

[0014] (Description of a method for manufacturing the bonded body 10 of metal wire and resin molding material) In the joint 10 of the metal wire and the resin molding of the present invention, the resin molding material 3 is intimately joined to the groove 2 of the metal wire 1. The method of manufacturing the joint 10 of the metal wire and the resin molding material may be to mold the resin molding material 3 in advance with a thermoplastic resin or the like, and then to intimately join the resin molding material 3 to the metal wire 1 by heat and pressure bonding. However, preferably, the resin such as a thermoplastic resin shown in FIG. 7 is injected by an injection molding device 5 and insert-molded to intimately join the resin molding material 3 to the metal wire 1. In the injection molding by the injection molding device 5, since the metal wire 1 is long, the outer peripheral surface around the groove 2 is supported, and the resin 30 such as a thermoplastic resin melted in the metal wire 1 is filled into the mold 52 from the injection nozzle 51, so that the resin 30 such as a thermoplastic resin is filled into the groove 2 of the metal wire 1, and the mold 52 is cooled to obtain the joint 10 of the metal wire and the resin molding material in which the resin molding material 3 is intimately joined to the groove 2.

[0015] (Description of the manufacturing process for a joint between a metal wire and a resin molding) FIG. 8 shows a manufacturing process of a joint of a metal wire and a resin molding, which includes a step 101 of forming a groove, a step 102 of surface-treating the groove, and a step 103 of injection molding. In the step 101 of forming the groove, a groove 2 is formed in the middle of a long metal wire 1 using a cold forging device 4 shown in FIG. 5. Next, in the step 102 of surface-treating the groove, a laser beam L shown in FIG. 6 is irradiated onto the groove 2 of the metal wire 1 to obtain a metal wire 1 having fine irregularities 1A formed thereon. Next, in the step 103 of injection molding, the metal wire 1 is placed in an injection molding die 5 shown in FIG. 7, and a resin 30 such as a thermoplastic resin is injected from an injection nozzle 51, so that the resin 30 becomes a resin molding material 3 in the groove 2, and the resin molding material 3 is bonded closely to the groove 2 to obtain a joint 10 of a metal wire and a resin molding material. [Industrial Applicability]

[0016] The joint of metal wire and resin molding material of the present invention can be used as an electrical connection terminal that is airtightly or watertightly sealed by preparing a large number of long metal wires, in which grooves are formed in the middle of each metal wire and insulating resin molding material is tightly bonded to the metal wire in each groove.
