Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a center seal rubber for a front window of a cabin of a construction machine, which is attached to the lower end of an upper window that is provided so as to be freely raised and lowered above a lower window fixed to the lower part of the front surface of the cabin of the construction machine. [Background technology]
[0002] As shown in Fig. 1, a front window 2 that allows the driver to see ahead is provided in front of a cabin 1j of a construction machine. As this front window 2, an upper window 2b is arranged above a lower window 2a fixed to the lower part of the front face of the cabin 1j so that it can be raised and lowered freely, and the window is closed when the upper window 2b is lowered and opened when the upper window 2b is raised (see Patent Document 1). As shown in Fig. 2, which is a cross-sectional view taken along line II-II in Fig. 1, a center seal rubber 3j is attached to the lower end of the upper window 2b, which is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a when the window is closed, to form a seal between the upper window 2b and the lower window 2a.
[0003] As shown in Figure 2, the center seal rubber 3j is molded entirely from relatively soft sponge rubber, and its engagement portion 4j engages with an upper window frame 5j located inside (on the interior side of) the upper window 2b, and is attached to the inner surface of the lower end of the upper window 2b with double-sided tape 6j. When the upper window 2b is raised to open, the center seal rubber 3j moves away from the upper end of the lower window 2a, and when the upper window 2b is lowered to close, it is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a, elastically deforming and sealing the gap with the lower window 2a. Note that the dashed line X in Figure 2 shows the shape of the center seal rubber 3j before it is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a.
[0004] As shown in Figure 2, in order to seal the gap between the lower end of the upper window 2b and the front surface of the center seal rubber 3j, caulking 7j is applied to the outer surface of the windshield 2 from the left end to the right end along the vehicle width direction, straddling the lower end of the upper window 2b and the front surface of the center seal rubber 3j (see Figure 1). [0005] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-249811 [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 9-136549 [Patent Document 3] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 11-157333 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0006] However, as shown in Figure 2, if the center seal rubber 3j is attached to the lower end of the upper window 2b with double-sided tape 6j or the like, and then caulking 7j is applied along the vehicle width direction to cover the boundary between the lower end of the upper window 2b and the center seal rubber 3j in order to ensure a seal between the lower end of the upper window 2b and the center seal rubber 3j, in addition to the process of attaching the center seal rubber 3j to the lower end of the upper window 2b with double-sided tape 6j or the like, a process of applying caulking 7j for sealing is required, which leads to increased costs.
[0007] As shown in Figure 1, the caulking 7j is applied to the outer surface of the lower end of the upper window 2b from left to right along the vehicle width. As the upper window 2b moves up and down (opens and closes), both widthwise ends of the caulking 7j rub against the windshield seal rubber 9 attached to the front pillar 8 of the cab frame along its length to seal the gap between the upper window 2b and the caulking 7j, as shown in Figure 3, a cross-sectional view of line III-III in Figure 1. Therefore, repeated opening and closing of the upper window 2b over time can cause curling at both widthwise ends of the caulking 7j, posing a durability issue. The dashed line Y in Figure 3 indicates the shape of the windshield seal rubber 9 before it is pressed against the upper window 2b and the caulking 7j.
[0008] As shown in Figure 2, the entire center seal rubber 3j is made of relatively soft sponge rubber, so if the upper window 2b is repeatedly opened and closed over time, causing the lower part of the center seal rubber 3j to be pressed against the upper edge of the lower window 2a and repeatedly undergo elastic deformation, the effect of the elastic deformation of the lower part of the center seal rubber 3j may extend to the area where the caulking 7j is applied. This may cause the caulking 7j to peel off, posing a durability issue.
[0009] Patent documents 2 and 3 describe inventions relating to a sealing member that is interposed between the window frame and the windshield glass as a sealing member for the windshield of a construction machinery cabin, but these have a different technical premise from the center seal rubber that is attached to the lower end of the upper window and seals between it and the upper end of the lower window as in the present invention.
[0010] The object of the present invention, which was devised in consideration of the above circumstances, is to provide a center seal rubber for the front window of a cabin of a construction machine, which is attached to the lower end of an upper window that is provided so that it can be raised and lowered freely above a lower window that is fixed to the lower part of the front face of the cabin of a construction machine, and which moves away from the upper end of the lower window when the upper window is raised to open the window, and which is pressed against the upper end of the lower window when the upper window is lowered to close the window, and which can be attached to the lower end of the upper window and seal between the upper window and the lower end of the upper window simultaneously in a single process, and which has excellent durability when the upper window is opened and closed repeatedly. [Means for solving the problem]
[0011] According to the present invention, which has been devised to achieve the above-mentioned object, there is provided a center seal rubber for a front window of a cabin of a construction machine, which is attached to the lower end of an upper window that is provided so that it can be raised and lowered above a lower window that is fixed to the lower part of the front of the cabin of a construction machine, and which moves away from the upper end of the lower window when the upper window is raised to open the window, and which is pressed against the upper end of the lower window when the upper window is lowered to close the window, and which is characterized by comprising: a rubber skeleton portion made of hard solid rubber and attached to the lower end of the upper window; an upper window lip portion provided at the front of the rubber skeleton and made of sponge rubber that is softer than the solid rubber and bent backward so as to be constantly pressed against the front of the upper window; and a lower window seal portion provided at the bottom of the rubber skeleton and made of sponge rubber that is softer than the solid rubber and which elastically deforms when pressed against the upper end of the lower window when the window is closed.
[0012] In the center seal rubber for the front window of a cabin of a construction machine according to the present invention, the lower window seal portion is formed in a U-shaped cross section with an open upper portion, and is attached to the lower part of the rubber skeleton portion so as to close the open portion, forming a hollow portion inside. When the lower window seal portion is pressed against the upper end of the lower window when the window is closed, it may elastically deform so that the hollow portion is recessed.
[0013] The center seal rubber for the front window of the cabin of a construction machine according to the present invention may be provided with a lower window lip portion which is formed to extend downward in a lip-like shape at the front of the lower window seal portion and which is pressed against the front surface of the lower window as the lower window seal portion is pressed against the upper end of the lower window when the window is closed, elastically deforming so that the hollow portion is recessed.
[0014] In the center seal rubber for the front window of the cabin of a construction machine of the present invention, the rubber skeleton portion comprises an upper window support portion that supports the lower end of the upper window, an upper window frame support portion that supports the upper window frame extended in the vehicle width direction inside the cabin at the lower end of the upper window, and a clamping portion that extends upward from the part between the upper window frame support portion and the upper window support portion and is clamped between the upper window and the upper window frame, and a condensation intrusion prevention portion that is wider than the minimum distance between the upper window frame and the upper window may be formed at the upper end of the clamping portion.
[0015] In the center seal rubber for the front window of the cabin of a construction machine according to the present invention, the upper window lip portion made of sponge rubber and the lower window seal portion made of sponge rubber may be integrally formed.
[0016] In the center seal rubber for the front window of a cabin of a construction machine according to the present invention, the upper window lip portion and lower window seal portion made of sponge rubber and the rubber skeleton portion made of solid rubber may be integrally molded by co-extrusion molding. [Effects of the Invention]
[0017] The center seal rubber for the front window of the cabin of a construction machine according to the present invention can achieve the following effects. (1) When the rubber skeleton is attached to the lower end of the upper window to attach the center seal rubber to the lower end of the upper window, the upper window lip portion provided at the front of the rubber skeleton is pressed against the front surface of the upper window, sealing the gap with the lower end of the upper window. Therefore, the attachment to the lower end of the upper window and the sealing between the lower end of the upper window can be performed simultaneously in one process, eliminating the need to apply caulking for sealing as in the past, and reducing manufacturing man-hours. (2) The rubber framework attached to the bottom of the upper window is provided with an upper window lip that seals the gap with the bottom of the upper window, so even if the upper window lip rubs against the windshield seal rubber on the front pillar when the upper window is opened or closed, the upper window lip will not come off the rubber framework. In other words, unlike conventional systems, the caulking applied for sealing will not rub against the windshield seal rubber on the front pillar and peel off when the upper window is opened or closed, improving durability. (3) The rubber skeleton attached to the lower end of the upper window is made of hard solid rubber, the upper window lip pressed against the front of the upper window is made of sponge rubber which is softer than solid rubber, and the lower window seal pressed against the upper end of the lower window when the window is closed is made of sponge rubber. Therefore, while the rubber skeleton ensures the mounting rigidity to the upper window, the upper window lip ensures sealing between the lower end of the upper window and the lower window seal ensures sealing between the upper window and the lower window when the window is closed. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0019] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Dimensions, materials, and other specific values shown in the embodiments are merely examples for facilitating understanding of the invention and do not limit the present invention unless otherwise specified. In this specification and drawings, elements having substantially the same functions and configurations are designated by the same reference numerals to avoid redundant explanation, and elements not directly related to the present invention are not shown.
[0020] (Front window of the cabin of construction machinery) Figure 4 shows a perspective view of a construction machine cabin 1 equipped with a center seal rubber 3 for a front window 2 of the cabin 1 of a construction machine according to one embodiment of the present invention. A front window 2 is provided at the front of the cabin 1 of the construction machine, allowing the driver to see ahead. The front window 2 comprises a lower window 2a fixed to the lower part of the front of the cabin 1, and an upper window 2b arranged above the lower window 2a so that it can be raised and lowered. When the upper window 2b is lowered, the window is closed, and when the upper window 2b is raised, the window is open. A center seal rubber 3 is attached to the lower end of the upper window 2b, which moves away from the upper end of the lower window 2a when the window is open, and is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a when the window is closed, thereby sealing the space between the upper window 2a and the lower window 2a.
[0021] (Center seal rubber 3) As shown in Figures 5(a), 5(b), 5(c), and 6, the center seal rubber 3 comprises a rubber skeleton 3a attached to the lower end of the upper window 2b, an upper window lip 3b attached to the front of the rubber skeleton 3a with its tip bent backward so that it is always pressed against the front surface of the upper window 2b, and a lower window seal 3c attached to the lower part of the rubber skeleton 3a that is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a and elastically deforms when the window is closed. The rubber skeleton 3a is made of hard solid rubber, while the upper window lip 3b and lower window seal 3c are made of sponge rubber, which is softer than solid rubber. Note that the tip of the upper window lip 3b, indicated by the dashed line Z in Figure 6, shows its shape before being pressed against the front surface of the upper window 2b; in reality, it is pressed against the front surface of the upper window 2b and elastically deforms along the front surface of the upper window 2b.
[0022] (Rubber skeleton 3a) As shown in Figures 5(a), 5(b), 5(c), and 6, the rubber skeleton 3a has an upper window support part 10 that supports the lower end of the upper window 2b, an upper window frame support part 11 that supports the upper window frame 5 that extends in the vehicle width direction inside the cabin at the lower end of the upper window 2b, and a sandwiching part 12 that extends upward from the part between the upper window frame support part 11 and the upper window support part 10 and is sandwiched between the upper window 2b and the upper window frame 5. As shown in Figure 6, a condensation intrusion prevention part 13 is formed at the upper end of the sandwiching part 12 so as to be in contact with the upper window 2b (the glass of the upper window 2b) and the upper window frame 5, and is formed wider than the minimum gap between the upper window frame 5 and the upper window 2b. When the outside temperature is low and the cabin is warm, as shown in FIG. 7, if the upper window 2b is closed, condensation D forms on the inner surface of the glass of the upper window 2b and hangs down. However, the condensation intrusion prevention part 13 prevents this condensation D from collecting in the space S between the upper window frame 5, which has a circular cross section, and the sandwiched part 12, which can cause insects and mold to grow.
[0023] As shown in Figures 5(a), 5(b), and 5(c), the upper window support portion 10 and the upper window frame support portion 11 are formed along the entire length of the lower end of the upper window 2b. Meanwhile, the clamping portion 12 is composed of a lower clamping portion 12a extending upward from the portion between the upper window support portion 10 and the upper window frame support portion 11, and an upper clamping portion 12b extending upward from the lower clamping portion 12a. The lower clamping portion 12a is formed along the entire length of the lower end of the upper window 2b, while the upper clamping portion 12b is formed excluding both left and right end portions of the lower end of the upper window 2b. The condensation intrusion prevention portion 13 described above is formed at the upper end of the upper clamping portion 12b. As shown in Figure 6, a recess 14 is formed on the front surface of the clamping portion 12 (lower clamping portion 12a, upper clamping portion 12b), and double-sided tape 6 is attached to the recess 14 along the width direction. Double-sided tape 6 is adhered to the glass of the upper window 2b, and center seal rubber 3 is attached to the lower end of the upper window 2b.
[0024] (Upper window lip 3b) As shown in Figures 5(a), 5(b), and 5(c), the front portion of the rubber skeleton 3a is provided with an upper window lip 3b, the tip of which is curved backward and extends along the entire length of the lower edge of the glass of the upper window 2b. The upper window lip 3b is made of sponge rubber, which is softer than the solid rubber that makes up the rubber skeleton 3a. As shown in Figure 6, when the rubber skeleton 3a is attached to the lower edge of the upper window 2b, the tip of the upper window lip 3b is pressed against the front surface of the upper window 2b, sealing the gap with the lower edge of the glass of the upper window 2b along the entire length of the lower edge of the upper window 2b. The dashed line Z in Figure 6 shows the shape of the upper window lip 3b before it is pressed against the front surface of the glass of the upper window 2b.
[0025] (Lower window seal part 3c) As shown in Figures 5(a), 5(b), and 5(c), a lower window seal 3c is provided at the bottom of the rubber skeleton 3a, running the entire length of the lower edge of the lower window 2a (the glass of the lower window 2a). The lower window seal 3c is made of sponge rubber, which is softer than the solid rubber that makes up the rubber skeleton 3a. As shown in Figure 6, the lower window seal 3c has a U-shaped cross section that is open at the top. It is attached to the bottom of the rubber skeleton 3a to close the open section, and has a hollow 15 formed inside. As shown in Figure 7, when the upper window 2b is lowered to the window-closed state and the lower window seal 3c is pressed against the upper edge of the lower window 2a, the hollow 15 elastically deforms to recess, thereby sealing the gap with the upper edge of the lower window 2a.
[0026] (Lower window lip 16) As shown in Fig. 6, a lower window lip 16 extending downward in a lip shape is formed at the front of the lower window seal 3c over the entire length of the lower end of the lower window 2a. As shown in Fig. 7, when the upper window 2b is closed and the lower window seal 3c is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a, elastically deforming so that the hollow portion 15 is recessed, the lower window lip 16 elastically deforms so that it is pressed against the front surface of the lower window 2a. As shown in Figs. 6 and 7, a recess 17 is formed at the front corner of the hollow portion 15 inside the lower window seal 16, which encourages elastic deformation so that the lower window lip 16 is pressed against the front surface of the glass of the lower window 2a when the lower window seal 16 is pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a and elastically deforming so that the hollow portion 15 is recessed.
[0027] (others) 6 and 7, in the center seal rubber 3 according to this embodiment, the upper window lip portion 3b made of sponge rubber and the lower window seal portion 3c made of sponge rubber are integrally formed. The upper window lip portion 3b and the lower window seal portion 3c made of sponge rubber and the rubber skeleton portion 3a made of solid rubber are integrally formed by co-extrusion molding.
[0028] (Actions and Effects) The center seal rubber 3 for the front window of the cabin of the construction machine according to this embodiment can provide the following functions and effects.
[0029] As shown in Figure 6, when attaching the center seal rubber 3 according to this embodiment to the bottom edge of the upper window 2b, if the rubber skeleton 3a is attached to the rear surface of the glass of the upper window 2b with double-sided tape 6 or the like, the tip of the upper window lip 3b provided at the front of the rubber skeleton 3a will be pressed against the front surface of the glass of the upper window 2b, sealing the gap with the bottom edge of the glass of the upper window 2b. Therefore, attachment to the bottom edge of the upper window 2b and sealing the gap with the bottom edge of the upper window 2b can be performed simultaneously in a single process (effectively only the attachment process), eliminating the need to apply caulking 7j for sealing as in the conventional example shown in Figure 2, and reducing the number of manufacturing steps.
[0030] As shown in Figure 6, a rubber skeleton 3a attached to the lower end of the glass of the upper window 2b is provided with an upper window lip 3b that seals between it and the lower end of the upper window 2b, so that even if the upper window lip 3b rubs against the windshield seal rubber 9 formed in the up-and-down direction along the longitudinal direction of the front pillar 8 shown in Figures 3 and 4 when the upper window 2b is opened or closed, the upper window lip 3b will not come off the rubber skeleton 3a. In other words, unlike the conventional example shown in Figure 2, the caulking 7j applied for sealing will not rub against the windshield seal rubber 9 on the front pillar 8 shown in Figure 3 and peel off as the upper window 2b is opened or closed, improving durability. In particular, in this embodiment, the upper window lip portion 3b and the lower window seal portion 3c made of sponge rubber are molded integrally, and the upper window lip portion 3b and the lower window seal portion 3c made of sponge rubber are molded integrally with the rubber skeleton portion 3a made of solid rubber by co-extrusion molding, so that the upper window lip portion 3b will not come off the rubber skeleton portion 3a even if it rubs repeatedly against the front window seal rubber 9 each time the upper window 2b is opened and closed.
[0031] As shown in Figure 6, the rubber skeleton 3a attached to the lower end of the upper window 2b is made of hard solid rubber, the upper window lip 3b pressed against the front surface of the upper window 2b is made of sponge rubber which is softer than solid rubber, and as shown in Figure 7, the lower window seal 3c pressed against the upper end of the lower window 2a when the window is closed is made of sponge rubber. Therefore, while ensuring the mounting rigidity to the upper window 2b by the rubber skeleton 3a, it is possible to ensure sealing between the upper window lip 3b and the lower end of the upper window 2b, and sealing between the upper window lip 3b and the lower window 2a when the window is closed by the lower window seal 3c.
[0032] When the window transitions from the state immediately before closing in Figure 6 to the state where the window is completely closed as shown in Figure 7, the lower seal 3c seats on the upper edge of the lower window 2a, and the reaction force pushes the lower seal 3c from the upper edge of the lower window 2a, pushing the joint 3d between the upper window lip 3b and the rubber skeleton 3a upward and elastically deforming, and this elastic deformation presses the tip of the upper window lip 3b against the front surface of the glass of the upper window 2b, thereby improving the sealing performance.
[0033] Furthermore, because the upper window lip 3b undergoes slight elastic deformation each time the upper window 2b is opened and closed, even if the tip of the upper window lip 3b slightly slides along the front surface of the glass of the upper window 2b, the sealing performance does not decrease, ensuring durability over time. In contrast, in the case of the conventional center seal rubber 3j shown in Figure 2, when the window is fully closed, the lower part of the center seal rubber 3j rests on the upper edge of the lower window 2a and is pressed upward. Because the entire center seal rubber 3j is made of soft sponge rubber, deformation caused by the upward pressure can affect the surface on which the caulking 7j is applied. Therefore, repeated opening and closing of the upper window 2b over time can cause the caulking 7j to peel off, leaving room for improvement in durability.
[0034] As described above, the center seal rubber for the cabin front window of a construction machine according to this embodiment can be attached to the lower end of the upper window and sealed between the lower end of the upper window simultaneously in a single process, thereby reducing manufacturing labor and providing the excellent effect of improving durability when the upper window is repeatedly opened and closed over time.
[0035] The above describes a preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, it goes without saying that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modified or altered examples within the scope of the claims also fall within the technical scope of the present invention. [Industrial Applicability]
