Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus for manufacturing a carrier tape roll having a carrier tape wound in a roll shape, a component supply apparatus, a component mounting system, and a carrier tape roll manufacturing method. [Background technology]
[0002] In a conventional component mounting system for manufacturing mounted boards, a component mounter is configured to include a component supply device that supplies components and a mounting head that picks up the components supplied by the component supply device and mounts them on the board. Known component supply devices include tape feeders that transport carrier tapes to supply components to predetermined positions, and also autoload feeders that automatically load carrier tapes (see, for example, Patent Document 1 listed below). With an autoload feeder, if a refill carrier tape is attached before the carrier tape runs out of components, the refill carrier tape is automatically loaded as the preceding carrier tape is discharged. [0003] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2018-37966 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] The carrier tape used in tape feeders is shipped from manufacturers wound on a reel, but the end of the carrier tape has an area (excess end) that does not contain components. This is primarily due to technical reasons for manufacturers winding the carrier tape onto a reel in a roll during production. However, in autoload feeders, which automatically load a refill carrier tape after ejecting the previous carrier tape, a long excess end increases the time required to eject the previous carrier tape, which in turn increases the time required to load the refill carrier tape. For this reason, there is currently a demand for carrier tape rolls (carrier tape wound into a roll) that have been subjected to termination processing to remove the excess end so that they are suitable for autoload feeders.
[0005] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus, a component supply apparatus, a component mounting system, and a carrier tape roll manufacturing method that can easily manufacture carrier tape rolls that have been subjected to termination processing. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] The carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus of the present invention is a carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus that manufactures a carrier tape roll in which carrier tape is wound in a roll shape, and is equipped with a pull-out section that pulls out the carrier tape from the original reel on which the carrier tape is wound to its end, and a rewinding section that rewinds the carrier tape pulled out by the pull-out section from the end side.
[0007] The component supplying device of the present invention is a component supplying device that supplies components to a component mounting machine that mounts components on a substrate, and supplies components from a carrier tape roll manufactured by the carrier tape roll manufacturing device of the present invention.
[0008] The component mounting system of the present invention comprises at least one component mounting machine having a component supply device that supplies components and a mounting head that mounts the components supplied from the component supply device onto a substrate, and the component supply device supplies components from a carrier tape roll manufactured by the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus of the present invention.
[0009] The carrier tape roll manufacturing method of the present invention is a carrier tape roll manufacturing method for manufacturing a carrier tape roll using the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus of the present invention, and includes: a pulling-out step of pulling out the carrier tape wound around an original reel to its end; a terminal processing step of removing a terminal surplus portion, which is an area not including components on the terminal side of the carrier tape pulled out in the pulling-out step; and a rewinding step of rewinding the carrier tape from which the terminal surplus portion has been removed in the terminal processing step, from a new terminal side. [Effects of the Invention]
[0010] According to the present invention, a carrier tape roll body that has been subjected to terminal processing can be easily manufactured. [Brief explanation of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012] (Embodiment 1) 1 shows a component mounting system 1 according to a first embodiment of the present invention. The component mounting system 1 is a system for manufacturing a mounted board KBJ by mounting components BH on a board KB, and includes a solder printer 1A, at least one component mounter 1B, and an inspection machine 1C. The solder printer 1A prints solder on the board KB and sends it out to the downstream component mounter 1B, and the component mounter 1B mounts components BH on the board KB and sends it out to the downstream inspection machine 1C (or to the downstream component mounter 1B if a component mounter 1B is located downstream). The inspection machine 1C inspects the components BH mounted on the board KB and sends it out to another downstream device.
[0013] 2, the component mounter 1B includes a base 11, a board transport unit 12, a feeder cart 13, a tape feeder 14 as a component supply device, a mounting head 15, and a head moving mechanism 16. The board transport unit 12 transports the board KB by a pair of conveyor mechanisms 12a extending horizontally, and positions it at a predetermined working position.
[0014] In Fig. 2, a feeder base 13B is provided on the upper part of the feeder cart 13, and a plurality of reels RL are supported on the lower part of the feeder cart 13. The feeder cart 13 is operated by an operator OP to travel on the floor and is connected to the base 11. A carrier tape CT is wound around each reel RL. A number of components BH are stored in a row on the carrier tape CT (details will be described later).
[0015] 2, tape feeder 14 is detachably attached to feeder base 13B of feeder cart 13. A plurality of tape feeders 14 can be attached to feeder base 13B. A transport path 14L for carrier tape CT is provided inside tape feeder 14, and a tape insertion opening 14G is provided at the end on the rear side (the side of operator OP in FIG. 2).
[0016] The tape feeder 14 is an autoload feeder, and when the carrier tape CT is inserted through the tape insertion port 14G, it activates multiple sprockets (not shown) provided inside to automatically draw in and load the carrier tape CT. After the carrier tape CT is loaded, the carrier tape CT is pitch-fed by the sprockets, and components BH are intermittently supplied to the component supply position 14K.
[0017] 2, the mounting head 15 is equipped with a plurality of nozzles 15N extending downward. Each nozzle 15N can move up and down relative to the mounting head 15 and rotate about a vertical axis. The mounting head 15 can vacuum-suck components BH to the lower end of each nozzle 15N. A head movement mechanism 16 moves the mounting head 15 in a horizontal plane.
[0018] When the mounter 1B mounts components BH on the board KB, it first operates the board transport unit 12 to carry in the board KB sent from the upstream side (the solder printer 1A or the upstream mounter 1B) and position it at the work position. After the board KB is positioned, the tape feeder 14 is operated to supply the components BH to the component supply position 14K, while the head moving mechanism 16 moves the mounting head 15 back and forth between the area above the tape feeder 14 and the area above the board KB.
[0019] During this reciprocating movement, the mounting head 15 repeatedly picks up components BH supplied by the tape feeder 14 with the nozzle 15N and mounts them at predetermined positions on the board KB. Once the components BH to be mounted have been mounted on the board KB, the board transport unit 12 carries the board KB downstream (to the downstream component mounter 1B or inspection machine 1C).
[0020] As shown in FIG. 3, the carrier tape CT transported by the tape feeder 14 on the transport path 14L is designed to naturally come off the reel RL when it reaches its end CTS. However, in embodiment 1 (and also in embodiments 2 to 4 described later), the area on the end CTS side of the carrier tape CT that does not include the component BH (referred to as the "end surplus portion SJ") is removed, and the tape feeder 14 is configured to efficiently transport the end surplus portion SJ of the carrier tape CT on the transport path 14L.
[0021] Next, an apparatus and method for manufacturing a roll of carrier tape CT (carrier tape roll CTR) from which such a surplus end portion SJ has been removed will be described.
[0022] 4 and 5 show a carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 according to the first embodiment of the present invention. The carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 is an apparatus that pulls out the carrier tape CT wound around an original reel 20 to the end CTS, performs an end termination process on the carrier tape CT, and then rewinds the carrier tape CT from the end CTS side to manufacture a carrier tape roll CTR. Here, the "original reel 20" refers to a commercially available reel, i.e., a reel shipped from a parts manufacturer. Furthermore, "end termination process" refers to the process of removing the end excess portion SJ of the carrier tape CT.
[0023] Before describing the configuration of the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18, we will first describe the base reel 20. As shown in Fig. 6, the base reel 20 has a pair of disk-shaped flanges (referred to as "reel flanges 21") and a cylindrical core 22 sandwiched between the two reel flanges 21. A slit 23 having a width slightly larger than that of the carrier tape CT is provided in the core 22, and the carrier tape CT is wound around the core 22 with the terminal end CTS inserted (locked) in the slit 23.
[0024] 6, the winding core 22 is provided with a rotating shaft insertion hole 24 that passes through the center in the axial direction of the main reel 20 (the direction in which the two reel flanges 21 face each other, that is, the front-to-rear direction, or the X direction). The rotating shaft insertion hole 24 is formed with a key groove (main reel key groove 24K) that protrudes in a direction away from the central axis of the rotating shaft insertion hole 24.
[0025] 6, the carrier tape CT is composed of a base tape BT and a cover tape TT. The base tape BT has a row of component storage compartments PK, each of which stores one component BH. The cover tape TT is attached to the base tape BT so as to cover the row of component storage compartments PK, and the base tape BT has a row of feed holes KH aligned parallel to the row of component storage compartments PK.
[0026] Next, the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 will be described. In Figures 4 and 5, the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 includes a housing 31 supported on the floor by a plurality of legs 31K and equipped with a plurality of working units 32. The working units 32 are parts that perform the above-mentioned operation, i.e., the operation of pulling out the carrier tape CT from the original reel 20 to the terminal end CTS, and then rewinding the pulled-out carrier tape CT from the terminal end CTS side.
[0027] 4 and 5, a plurality of operation units 33 are provided on the outside of the housing 31. The operation units 33 are provided corresponding to the working units 32, and the same number of operation units 33 are provided as the number of working units 32. Here, two working units 32 and two operation units 33 are provided, but the number of working units 32 and two operation units 33 is not limited to two, and may be one each, or three or more each.
[0028] 4, a control device 34 is provided inside a housing 31. As shown in Fig. 7, the control device 34 includes a first motor control unit 34a, a second motor control unit 34b, a position calculation unit 34c, and a determination unit 34d. The control device 34 is connected to each of the multiple working units 32 and the multiple operating units 33.
[0029] The working unit 32 will now be described. In Figures 5 and 8, the working unit 32 has an upright base unit 41. An upper part of the base unit 41 has a drawer unit 42, and a lower part of the base unit 41 has a rewind unit 43.
[0030] 8, storage container holders 44 are provided on both sides of the lower part of base portion 41 in the horizontal direction (left and right direction, Y direction). Rewinding portion 43 is located between the left and right storage container holders 44. In FIGS. 5 and 8, upper and lower tape guides 45 and a component counter 46 are provided in the middle of base portion 41 in the vertical direction (Z direction), on the left side as you face base portion 41.
[0031] The pull-out unit 42 is a part in the working unit 32 that pulls out the carrier tape CT from the master reel 20 to the terminal end CTS. As shown in Figures 5 and 8, the pull-out unit 42 includes a first rotating shaft 51 that protrudes from the front side of the base unit 41, and a first motor 52 that is provided on the back side of the base unit 41 and rotates the first rotating shaft 51 (see also Figure 9). The first motor 52 is controlled by a first motor control unit 34a of the control device 34.
[0032] The rewinding unit 43 is a part in the working unit 32 that rewinds the carrier tape CT, which has been pulled out to the terminal end CTS by the pull-out unit 42, from the terminal end CTS side. As shown in Figures 5 and 8, the rewinding unit 43 includes a second rotating shaft 53 that protrudes from the front side of the base unit 41, and a second motor 54 that is provided on the back side of the base unit 41 and rotates the second rotating shaft 53. The second motor 54 is controlled by a second motor control unit 34b of the control device 34.
[0033] In Figure 8, a pull-out section winding core 61 is detachably attached to the first rotating shaft 51 of the pull-out section 42. The pull-out section winding core 61, together with a pair of flanges 62 and a width adjustment member 63, constitutes a pull-out section winding core unit 64 (Figures 8, 9, and 10(a) and (b)).
[0034] 8, 9, and 10(a) and (b), the two flanges 62 each have a disk shape and are arranged to sandwich the pull-out portion winding core 61 from the rear and front sides. The width adjustment member 63 is made of a cylindrical member as a whole and is inserted into the pull-out portion winding core 61. The width adjustment member 63 is located in front of the front of the two flanges 62 and is formed integrally with the flange 62 on that front side.
[0035] 9 and 10(a) and (b), the pull-out section core 61 has a first rotating shaft insertion hole 65 formed therein, through which the first rotating shaft 51 is inserted. When attaching the pull-out section core 61 to the first rotating shaft 51, the first rotating shaft 51 is inserted into the first rotating shaft insertion hole 65 formed in the pull-out section core 61 (FIG. 9 → FIG. 11).
[0036] The tip 51S of the first rotating shaft 51 inserted through the first rotating shaft insertion hole 65 protrudes from the front end of the pull-out section winding core 61 (FIG. 11), and a stopper member 66 is screwed onto the protruding tip 51S of the first rotating shaft 51. The stopper member 66 serves to prevent the width adjustment member 63 from slipping out of the pull-out section winding core 61.
[0037] 9 and 10(a) and (b), a key groove (pulling-out portion key groove 67) that connects to the first rotating shaft insertion hole 65 is formed in the flange portion 62 on the rear side (base portion 41 side) of the pulling-out portion winding core 61. As shown in FIGS. 9 and 12, a key portion (first rotating shaft key portion 51K) is provided at the base portion of the first rotating shaft 51 so as to protrude outward from the outer circumferential surface of the first rotating shaft 51.
[0038] When the first rotating shaft 51 is inserted through the first rotating shaft insertion hole 65 of the pull-out section core 61, the first rotating shaft key 51K is fitted into the pull-out section key groove 67. This restricts the relative rotation of the pull-out section core 61 with respect to the first rotating shaft 51, and when the first rotating shaft 51 is rotated, the pull-out section core 61 rotates integrally with the first rotating shaft 51.
[0039] 9, 10(b), and 11, a slit-shaped carrier tape insertion opening 61S extending in the axial direction is provided in the pull-out portion winding core 61. The starting end CTT (FIG. 6) of the carrier tape CT to be pulled out from the master reel 20 is inserted into the carrier tape insertion opening 61S.
[0040] 9, 10(b), and 11, a clamp operation lever 70 is provided at the axial end of the pull-out section winding core 61. Inside the pull-out section winding core 61 is provided a clamp mechanism (not shown) made up of two members that can be opened and closed (clamped) by operating the clamp operation lever 70.
[0041] The operator OP can clamp the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT inserted through the carrier tape insertion port 61S by operating the clamp mechanism using the clamp operation lever 70. With the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT clamped by the clamp mechanism, when the first rotating shaft 51 is driven to rotate the pull-out section winding core 61, the carrier tape CT is wound around the outer periphery of the pull-out section winding core 61.
[0042] 11 and 13(a) and 13(b), a locked portion 68 is provided on the surface of the pull-out portion winding core 61. The locked portion 68 has a plurality of recesses 68H arranged in the axial direction. These recesses 68H are provided at positions corresponding to the width dimensions of the plurality of types of carrier tape CT that can be pulled out.
[0043] 11 and 13(a) and (b), the width adjustment member 63 is provided with a manually operated locking knob 63L. An operator OP can lock the width adjustment member 63 to the drawer section winding core 61 by sliding the width adjustment member 63 relative to the drawer section winding core 61 in the axial direction (X direction) of the drawer section winding core 61 and, at the desired position, engaging an engagement piece (not shown) provided on the locking knob 63L with one of the multiple depressions 68H of the locked portion 68. This makes it possible to adjust the width of the drawer section winding core 61 (the distance WD between the two flange portions 62; FIG. 11) according to the width of the carrier tape CT to be wound around the drawer section winding core 61 (FIGS. 13(a) and (b)).
[0044] 11 and 13(a) and (b), a display unit 69 is provided on the surface of the pull-out section winding core 61. A plurality of letters (e.g., numbers) NB that correspond to the plurality of depressions 68H of the locked portion 68 (i.e., that correspond to the width direction dimensions of the carrier tape CT) are displayed on the display unit 69, and the operator OP can determine the position of the width adjustment member 63 relative to the pull-out section winding core 61 by referring to the letters NB displayed in the window portion 63W of the width adjustment member 63, thereby locking the width adjustment member 63 in a position where the width direction dimension (the distance WD between the two flange portions 62) is appropriate.
[0045] 14, first (when the carrier tape CT is pulled out by the pull-out unit 42), the master reel 20 is attached to the second rotating shaft 53 of the rewinding unit 43. As shown in FIGS. 14, 15, and 16, a key portion (second rotating shaft key portion 53K) is provided at the base portion of the second rotating shaft 53 so as to protrude outward from the outer circumferential surface of the second rotating shaft 53.
[0046] When inserting the main reel 20 onto the second rotating shaft 53, the second rotating shaft key portion 53K is fitted into the main reel key groove 24K (Fig. 15 → Fig. 16). This restricts the rotation of the main reel 20 relative to the second rotating shaft 53, and when the second rotating shaft 53 is rotated, the main reel 20 rotates integrally with the second rotating shaft 53.
[0047] After the operator OP has attached the main reel 20 to the second rotary shaft 53 of the unwinding section 43, he or she pulls out the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT upward from the main reel 20. Then, while operating the clamp operating lever 70, he or she inserts the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT into the carrier tape insertion port 61S of the pull-out section winding core 61 and clamps it with the clamp mechanism. This brings the carrier tape CT wound around the main reel 20 into a state of being connected to the pull-out section winding core 61 (FIG. 17).
[0048] As described above, the width of the pull-out section winding core 61 can be adjusted in accordance with the width of the carrier tape CT by changing the distance WD between the two flanges 62. Therefore, it is not necessary to replace the pull-out section winding core 61 itself with respect to the first rotating shaft 51 in accordance with the width of the carrier tape CT to be pulled out.
[0049] Once the carrier tape CT wound around the master reel 20 as described above is connected to the pull-out section core 61, the operator OP operates the pull-out switch 33a (FIG. 7) on the operation unit 33. When the pull-out switch 33a is operated, the first motor control unit 34a activates the first motor 52 to rotate the first rotating shaft 51, and the second motor control unit 34b activates the second motor 54 to rotate the second rotating shaft 53 in the same direction as the first rotating shaft 51.
[0050] As a result, the pull-out section winding core 61 and the main reel 20 rotate in the same direction, and the carrier tape CT wound around the main reel 20 is wound onto the pull-out section winding core 61 (FIG. 18(a) → FIG. 18(b) → FIG. 18(c)). Then, the pull-out section 42 pulls out the carrier tape CT to the terminal end CTS (pull-out step). In this way, the first motor 52 of the pull-out section 42 drives the pull-out section winding core 61 to wind the carrier tape CT from the main reel 20 onto the pull-out section winding core 61 in the pull-out step.
[0051] The carrier tape CT, which is moved between the unwinding section 43 (main reel 20) and the pull-out section 42 (pull-out section winding core 61), is positioned so as to pass through a predetermined detection position. Here, the detection position is set to a position between two tape guides 45 and a component counter 46, which are arranged side by side in the vertical direction on the base section 41.
[0052] The component counter 46 detects and counts the number of components BH passing the detection position. The position calculation unit 34c of the control device 34 calculates the positions of the start end CTT and the end end CTS of the carrier tape CT (the length from the detection position to the start end CTT of the carrier tape CT and the length from the detection position to the end end CTS of the carrier tape CT) based on the number of components BH counted by the component counter 46 and other information pre-stored in the control device 34.
[0053] In this embodiment, the component counter 46 and the position calculation unit 34c of the control device 34 function as a tape end position detection unit TK that detects the position of the end (end CTS or start CTT) of the carrier tape CT moved between the pull-out unit 42 and the rewinding unit 43 (Figure 7).
[0054] The first motor control unit 34a controls the operation of the first motor 52 and the second motor based on the position of the end CTS of the carrier tape CT calculated by the tape end position detection unit TK. The determination unit 34d of the control device 34 determines whether the pull-out portion winding core 61 has reached a stop position where winding of the carrier tape CT should be stopped, based on the position of the end CTS of the carrier tape CT detected by the tape end position detection unit TK.
[0055] When the first motor control unit 34a detects that the carrier tape CT wound around the main reel 20 has been pulled out by the pull-out unit 42 and that the pull-out unit core 61 has approached the stop position, the first motor control unit 34a decelerates the rotation of the first motor 52. Then, when the carrier tape CT is further pulled out by the pull-out unit 42 (FIG. 18(c)) and the determination unit 34d determines that the pull-out unit core 61 has reached the stop position, the first motor control unit 34a stops the rotation of the first rotating shaft 51 (i.e., the rotation of the pull-out unit core 61) (FIG. 19).
[0056] As described above, the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 includes a determination unit 34d that determines whether the pull-out section core 61 has reached a stop position where winding of the carrier tape CT is stopped, based on the position of the end CTS of the carrier tape CT detected by the tape end position detection unit TK, and the first motor control unit 34a is configured to stop operation of the first motor 52 when the determination unit of the determination unit 34d determines that the pull-out section core 61 has reached the stop position. Furthermore, the first motor control unit 34a is configured to decelerate rotation of the first motor 52 when it detects that the pull-out section core 61 is approaching the stop position, based on the position of the end CTS of the carrier tape CT detected by the tape end position detection unit TK.
[0057] In this manner, when the pull-out section 42 is winding the carrier tape CT around the pull-out section winding core 61, the first motor control unit 34a controls the rotation of the first motor 52 by speed control, and the second motor control unit 34b controls the second motor 54 by torque control, which generates torque in the opposite direction to the winding direction by the first motor 52 to maintain the tension of the carrier tape CT.
[0058] When the pull-out unit 42 pulls out the carrier tape CT from the original reel 20 up to the terminal end CTS, the operator OP performs terminal processing of the carrier tape CT (terminal processing step). Here, as described above, "terminal processing" refers to processing to remove the terminal end surplus portion SJ of the carrier tape CT (the area on the terminal end CTS side of the carrier tape CT that does not include the components BH). The cutting processing is performed by cutting the terminal end surplus portion from the carrier tape CT using cutting means (for example, scissors) (FIG. 20(a) → FIG. 20(b)).
[0059] After the operator OP has performed the termination process for the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out unit 42, he or she removes the empty original reel 20 from the second rotating shaft 53 and attaches the take-up body 80 to the second rotating shaft 53. The take-up body 80 is a member that is detachably attached to the second rotating shaft 53 as a take-up body holding unit in order to rewind the carrier tape CT pulled out from the original reel 20 by the pull-out unit 42.
[0060] The take-up body 80 may be, for example, an empty reel RL that has run out of parts after supplying carrier tape CT to the tape feeder 14, or an empty master reel 20 that has been pulled out by the pull-out section 42 (collectively referred to as the reel body 81; FIG. 21). As described in the explanation of the master reel 20, the reel body 81 has a reel flange 21 and a winding core 22, and the winding core 22 has a slit 23 and a rotary shaft insertion hole 24.
[0061] When using a reel body 81 for the winding body 80, the reel body 81 is attached to the second rotating shaft 53 (FIG. 22). The procedure for attaching the reel body 81 to the second rotating shaft 53 is the same as when attaching the master reel 20 to the second rotating shaft 53. When using an empty reel from the master reel 20 as the reel body 81, the empty reel can be left as it is without being removed from the second rotating shaft 53.
[0062] After the reel body 81 is mounted on the second rotating shaft 53, the end CTS of the carrier tape CT, which has been pulled out by the pull-out section 42, is then connected to the winding core 22 of the reel body 81 with adhesive tape NT (FIGS. 21 and 23). The adhesive strength of the adhesive tape NT used here is assumed to be relatively weak enough to prevent the end CTS of the carrier tape CT from slipping relative to the winding core 22 when the reel body 81 begins to wind the carrier tape CT, and to allow the end CTS of the carrier tape CT to be separated from the winding core 22 without resistance when the carrier tape CT is pulled out to the end CTS.
[0063] After connecting the end CTS of the carrier tape CT to the core 22 of the reel body 81 with the adhesive tape NT as described above, the operator OP operates the rewind switch 33b (FIG. 7) on the operation unit 33. When the rewind switch 33b is operated, the second motor control unit 34b operates the second motor 54 to rotate the second rotating shaft 53, and the first motor control unit 34a operates the first motor 52 to rotate the first rotating shaft 51 in the same direction as the second rotating shaft 53.
[0064] As a result, the reel body 81 and the pull-out section winding core 61 rotate in the same direction, and the carrier tape CT wound around the pull-out section winding core 61 is wound around the winding core portion 22 of the reel body 81 (FIG. 24(a) → FIG. 24(b) → FIG. 24(c)). In this way, the carrier tape CT is rewound onto the reel body 81, which is the winding body 80 (rewinding step). In this way, the second motor 54 of the rewinding section 43 rewinds the carrier tape CT wound around the pull-out section winding core 61 of the pull-out section 42 in the rewinding step.
[0065] As the carrier tape CT is being rewound onto the reel body 81, the tape end position detection unit TK detects the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT. When the tape end position detection unit TK detects that the reel body 81 is approaching a winding stop position where the rewinding operation of the carrier tape CT should be stopped, the second motor control unit 34b slows down the rotation of the second motor 54, and then stops the rotation of the second motor 54 when it detects that the reel body 81 has reached the winding stop position.
[0066] In this manner, when the rewinding section 43 is winding the carrier tape CT by the winding body 80 (here, the reel body 81), the second motor control section 34b controls the rotation of the second motor 54 by speed control, and the first motor control section 34a controls the first motor 52 by torque control, which generates a torque in the opposite direction to the winding direction by the second motor 54 to maintain the tension of the carrier tape CT.
[0067] Once the carrier tape CT has been rewound onto the reel body 81 and the rotation of the second rotating shaft 53 and the first rotating shaft 51 has stopped ( FIG. 24(c) ), the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT that had been clamped to the pull-out section winding core 61 is removed from the pull-out section winding core 61. Once the carrier tape CT has been removed from the pull-out section winding core 61, a carrier tape roll CTR has been produced within the reel body 81 on the second rotating shaft 53. Once the carrier tape roll CTR has been produced in this way, the operator OP removes the reel body 81 together with the carrier tape roll CTR from the second rotating shaft 53 ( FIG. 25 ).
[0068] As described above, the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 includes a pull-out unit 42 that pulls out the carrier tape CT from the original reel 20 around which the carrier tape CT is wound to the terminal end CTS, and a rewinding unit 43 that rewinds the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out unit 42 from the terminal end CTS side. The carrier tape roll CTR is manufactured by a method (carrier tape roll manufacturing method) that includes the following steps: a pull-out step in which the pull-out unit 42 pulls out the carrier tape CT from the original reel 20 to the terminal end CTS; a termination step in which a terminal end surplus portion SJ, which is an area that does not include components on the terminal end side of the carrier tape CT pulled out in the pull-out step, is removed; and a rewinding step in which the rewinding unit 43 rewinds the carrier tape CT from which the terminal end surplus portion SJ has been removed in the termination step, from the new terminal end CTS side. This makes it possible to easily manufacture a carrier tape roll CTR that has been subjected to termination processing.
[0069] (Embodiment 2) Next, we will explain embodiment 2. The carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus in embodiment 2 has the same configuration as embodiment 1, except that an exchangeable winding core 82 shown in Figure 26 is used as the winding body 80. As shown in Figures 27(a), (b) and 28(a), (b), the exchangeable winding core 82 includes a base 91, left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92, a lever portion 93, and a clamp portion 94.
[0070] 27(a), (b) and 28(a), (b), an insertion hole 95 into which the second rotating shaft 53 is inserted is provided in the base 91 of the replaceable winding core 82. The insertion hole 95 is formed with a key groove 95M that protrudes in a direction away from the central axis of the insertion hole 95.
[0071] 27(a), (b) and 28(a), (b), the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 are disposed on the left and right sides of the base 91. The left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 are respectively connected to the base 91 by left and right swing shafts 96 extending in the Y direction. As a result, the two semi-cylindrical portions 92 are each able to swing about the swing shaft 96, and are able to move (swing) between a reference position (FIGS. 27(a), (b) and 28(a)) in which the outer circumferential surfaces are positioned on a common cylindrical surface, and a deformed position (FIG. 28(b)) in which the outer circumferential surfaces are not positioned on a common cylindrical surface (they taper downward). In the deformed position, the lower portions of the two semi-cylindrical portions 92 move closer to each other, resulting in a tapered shape.
[0072] 28(a) and 28(b), biasing springs 97 are provided between the lower portions of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 and the base portion 91. These left and right biasing springs 97 bias the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 in directions in which the lower portions approach each other (i.e., in directions in which they become deformed positions).
[0073] 27(a) and 28(a) and (b), the lever portion 93 is made of a member that extends in one direction. The center of the lever portion 93 is connected to the lower part of the base portion 91 by a shaft member 98 that extends in the Y direction. The lever portion 93 can be rotated around the shaft member 98.
[0074] 28(a) and (b), an elliptical cam 99 is attached to the lever portion 93 and rotates integrally with the lever portion 93 around a shaft member 98. The cam 99 can be moved between a winding position (FIG. 28(a)) in which it extends horizontally and a withdrawal position (FIG. 28(b)) in which it extends vertically, depending on the rotational position of the lever portion 93 relative to the base 91.
[0075] When the cam 99 is in the winding position, both ends of the long sides of the cam 99 enter between the lower parts of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 and abut against the inner surfaces of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92. As a result, the gap between the lower parts of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 is widened against the biasing forces of the left and right biasing springs 97, and the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 are placed in the reference position (FIG. 28(a)).
[0076] On the other hand, when the cam 99 is in the removal position, both ends of the long sides of the cam 99 do not abut against the inner surfaces of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92. Therefore, the lower parts of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 are pulled together by the biasing forces of the left and right biasing springs 92, and are positioned in the deformed position (FIG. 28(b)).
[0077] 28(a) and (b), the clamp portion 94 has a clamp base 94a that extends upward with its lower end attached to the base portion 91, a clamp piece 94b attached to the upper end of the clamp base 94a, and a torsion spring 94c interposed between the clamp base 94a and the base portion 91. The torsion spring 94c is provided so as to urge the clamp base 94a in a direction in which the clamp piece 94b abuts against the abutment surface 92P at the top of one of the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92.
[0078] The clamp piece 94b, which is in contact with the contact surface 92P, is moved away from the contact surface 92P against the biasing force of the torsion spring 94c, and the carrier tape CT is inserted between the clamp piece 94b and the contact surface 92P. Then, the carrier tape CT is released, thereby sandwiching (clamping) the carrier tape CT between the clamp piece 94b and the contact surface 92P (FIG. 29(a) → FIG. 29(b)). This allows the end CTS of the carrier tape CT pulled out from the master reel 20 by the pull-out section 42 to be connected to the replaceable winding core 82. Note that the replaceable winding core 82 can clamp multiple types of carrier tape CT with different width dimensions. Alternatively, multiple types of replaceable winding cores 82 having optimal axial lengths for each width dimension of the carrier tape CT may be prepared.
[0079] When a replaceable winding core 82 is used for the winding body 80, first, the replaceable winding core 82 is attached by inserting it onto the second rotating shaft 53 of the unwinding unit 43 into an insertion hole 95 provided in the base 91 ( FIG. 30 ). When the second rotating shaft 53 is inserted into the insertion hole 95, the second rotating shaft key portion 53K is fitted into the key groove 95M of the replaceable winding core 82. After the replaceable winding core 82 has been attached to the second rotating shaft 53, the end CTS of the carrier tape CT, which has been pulled out by the pulling-out portion 42, is then clamped between the clamp portion 94 and the abutment surface 92P, thereby connecting the carrier tape CT to the replaceable winding core 82 (i.e., to the unwinding unit 43) ( FIG. 30 ).
[0080] After connecting the end CTS of the carrier tape CT to the replaceable winding core 82, the operator OP operates the rewinding switch 33b on the operation unit 33. When the rewinding switch 33b is operated, the second motor control unit 34b operates the second motor 54 to rotate the second rotating shaft 53. Furthermore, the first motor control unit 34a operates the first motor 52 to rotate the first rotating shaft 51 in the same direction as the second rotating shaft 53. As a result, the replaceable winding core 82 and the pulling-out section winding core 61 rotate in the same direction, and the carrier tape CT that was wound around the pulling-out section winding core 61 is pulled out to the rewinding unit 43 side and wound around the replaceable winding core 82 (more specifically, around the outer peripheral surfaces of the two semi-cylindrical sections 92) (Figures 31(a) → Figures 31(b) → Figures 31(c) : Rewinding step).
[0081] As the carrier tape CT is being wound around the replaceable winding core 82 (rewound onto the rewinding unit 43), the position of the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT is detected by the tape end position detection unit TK, as in the case of embodiment 1. Then, when the determination unit 34d detects that the replaceable winding core 82 is approaching the winding stop position, the second motor control unit 34b starts decelerating the second motor 54, and then, when it detects that the replaceable winding core 82 has reached the winding stop position, it stops the second motor 54.
[0082] In the process leading up to the stopping of the second motor 54, the second motor 54 is decelerated and stopped based on the position of the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT detected by the tape end position detector TK, as in the case of embodiment 1. Also, when rewinding the carrier tape CT onto the winding body 80 (here, the replaceable winding core 82), the second motor controller 34b controls the rotation of the second motor 54 by speed control, and the first motor controller 34a controls the rotation of the first motor 52 by torque control, as in the case of embodiment 1.
[0083] Once the carrier tape CT has been rewound onto the replaceable winding core 82 and the rotation of the second rotating shaft 53 and the first rotating shaft 51 has stopped ( FIG. 31(c)), the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT that was clamped to the pull-out section winding core 61 is removed from the pull-out section winding core 61. Once the carrier tape CT has been removed from the pull-out section winding core 61, a carrier tape roll body CTR has been produced on the replaceable winding core 82. Once the carrier tape roll body CTR has been produced in this way, the operator OP removes the replaceable winding core 82 together with the carrier tape roll body CTR from the second rotating shaft 53 ( FIG. 32 ).
[0084] After removing the replaceable winding core 82 together with the carrier tape roll CTR from the second rotating shaft 53, the operator OP then pulls the replaceable winding core 82 out of the carrier tape roll CTR. In this case, the operator OP rotates the lever portion 93 of the replaceable winding core 82 around the shaft member 98 to change it from the winding position to the removal position (FIG. 28(a) → FIG. 28(b)). As a result, the left and right semi-cylindrical portions 92 of the replaceable winding core 82 swing in a direction in which their lower portions approach each other, deforming so as to narrow downward (FIG. 28(b)), allowing the replaceable winding core 82 to be easily removed from the carrier tape roll CTR (FIG. 32). In this way, in the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18, the replaceable winding core 82 is deformed so as to be removable from the center (circular hole) of the carrier tape roll CTR made of the rewound carrier tape CT.
[0085] In embodiment 2 as well, the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out section 42 can be subjected to terminal processing to remove the terminal excess section SJ and then rewound by the rewinding section 43, so that a carrier tape roll body CTR that has been subjected to terminal processing can be easily manufactured.
[0086] (Embodiment 3) Next, a third embodiment will be described. In the third embodiment, the replaceable winding core 82 shown in the second embodiment is used as the winding body 80, and a storage container 83 shown in FIG.
[0087] 33 and 34(a) and (b), the storage container 83 is made up of two side plates 101 and an arc-shaped frame 102 positioned between them, and has an opening 103 at the top. An arc-shaped shutter 104 that moves along the inner surface of the frame 102 is provided inside the storage container 83.
[0088] The shutter 104 can be positioned at either of two positions: an open position (FIG. 34(a)) that opens the opening 103, or a closed position (FIG. 34(b)) that closes the opening 103. The shutter 104 is provided with an operating lever 104L, and the operator OP switches the position of the shutter 104 by operating the operating lever 104L.
[0089] 33 and 34(a) and (b), two side plates 101 are provided with core holes 105 into which replaceable cores 82 can be inserted. The inner diameter of core holes 105 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of replaceable core 82 (the outer diameter of replaceable core 82 when two semi-cylindrical portions 92 are positioned at the reference positions).
[0090] In the third embodiment, first, the storage container 83 is attached to the base 41. When attaching the storage container 83 to the base 41, the storage container 83 is held by the left and right storage container holders 44 provided at the bottom of the base 41 with the opening 103 facing upward. At this time, the second rotation shaft 53 passes through the core holes 105 of each of the two side plates 101. When the storage container 83 is attached to the base 41, the second rotation shaft 53 is located on a line connecting the centers of the two core holes 105.
[0091] After attaching the storage container 83 to the base part 41 as described above, the operator OP then attaches the replaceable winding core 82 to the second rotating shaft 53. When the second rotating shaft 53 is inserted into the insertion hole 95 of the replaceable winding core 82 (FIGS. 27(a) and 27(b)), the replaceable winding core 82 passes through two winding core holes 105 provided in two side plates 101 of the storage container 83 and is attached to the second rotating shaft 53 (FIG. 35).
[0092] Once the replaceable winding core 82 has been attached to the second rotating shaft 53, the end CTS of the carrier tape CT that has been pulled out by the pull-out section 42 is connected to the replaceable winding core 82 in the same manner as in the second embodiment (FIG. 35). Then, the rewind switch 33b is operated from the operation unit 33. When the rewind switch 33b is operated, the second rotating shaft 53 rotates the first rotating shaft 51 in the same direction, and the carrier tape CT wound around the pull-out section winding core 61 is wound onto the outer circumferential surfaces of the two semi-cylindrical sections 92 of the replaceable winding core 82 (FIGS. 36(a) → 36(b) → 36(c)), as in the second embodiment (rewinding step).
[0093] Furthermore, as the carrier tape CT is being rewound onto the replaceable winding core 82, the position of the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT is detected by the tape end position detection unit TK. When the determination unit 34d detects that the replaceable winding core 82 is approaching the winding stop position, the second motor control unit 34b starts decelerating the second motor 54, and then, when it detects that the replaceable winding core 82 has reached the winding stop position, the second motor control unit 34b stops the second motor 54, as in the second embodiment.
[0094] Also, in the process leading up to the stopping of the second motor 54, the second motor 54 is decelerated and stopped based on the position of the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT detected by the tape end position detector TK, similar to the cases of the first and second embodiments. Furthermore, when rewinding the carrier tape CT onto the winding body 80 (replaceable winding core 82), the second motor controller 34b controls the rotation of the second motor 54 by speed control, and the first motor controller 34a controls the rotation of the first motor 52 by torque control, similar to the cases of the first and second embodiments.
[0095] Once the carrier tape CT has been rewound onto the replaceable winding core 82 and the rotation of the second rotating shaft 53 and the first rotating shaft 51 has stopped ( FIG. 36( c)), the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT that had been clamped to the pull-out section winding core 61 is removed from the pull-out section winding core 61. Once the carrier tape CT has been removed from the pull-out section winding core 61, a carrier tape roll body CTR has been produced on the replaceable winding core 82 inside the storage container 83.
[0096] Once the carrier tape roll CTR has been manufactured in this manner, the operator OP places the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT into the storage container 83. Then, the operator OP operates the operating lever 104L to move the shutter 104 from the open position to the closed position (FIG. 37(a) → FIG. 37(b)), thereby sealing the carrier tape roll CTR inside the storage container 83.
[0097] After sealing the carrier tape roll CTR in the storage container 83, the operator OP removes the replaceable winding core 82 together with the carrier tape roll CTR (i.e., together with the storage container 83) from the second rotating shaft 53, and then pulls out the replaceable winding core 82 from the carrier tape roll CTR (FIG. 38). This leaves the carrier tape roll CTR stored in the storage container 83.
[0098] In embodiment 3 as well, the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out section 42 can be subjected to terminal processing to remove the terminal excess section SJ and then rewound by the rewinding section 43, so that a carrier tape roll body CTR that has been subjected to terminal processing can be easily manufactured.
[0099] 39(a) and 39(b), a configuration may be adopted in which the second rotating shaft 53 (and therefore the replaceable winding core 82) is arranged above the storage container 83 rather than inside the storage container 83 attached to the base portion 41. In such a configuration, the carrier tape roll CTR produced by being wound onto the replaceable winding core 82 is stored in the storage container 83 by its own weight when the replaceable winding core 82 is removed from the second rotating shaft 53 (FIG. 39(a) → FIG. 39(b)).
[0100] 39(a) and 39(b), it is preferable that the working unit 32 including the pull-out unit 42 and the rewinding unit 43 (i.e., the base unit 41) is inclined from the vertical plane, that is, that the angle of elevation Θ from the horizontal plane is slightly smaller than 90 degrees (for example, Θ = approximately 60 degrees). In such a configuration, the carrier tape roll CTR slides on the surface of the base unit 41 to be stored in the storage container 83, so that when the carrier tape roll CTR comes into contact with the storage container 83, the impact that the carrier tape CT receives from the storage container 83 can be alleviated.
[0101] (Fourth embodiment) Next, a fourth embodiment will be described. The carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus in the fourth embodiment has the same configuration as the first to third embodiments except that a split reel 84 shown in Figures 40 and 41 is used as the winding body 80.
[0102] 41, the split reel 84 has two flange bodies 111 and a carrier tape core 112 disposed between the two flange bodies 111. The carrier tape core 112 is coupled to one of the flange bodies 111.
[0103] 41, the two flange bodies 111 are joined by fitting a plurality of recesses 113 provided on the carrier tape core 112 of one flange body 111 into a plurality of protrusions 114 provided on the other flange body 111. This allows the split reel 84 to be easily split into two parts (one flange body 111 and the other flange body 111). Note that although the split reel 84 is configured to be split into two parts here, it may also be configured to be split into two or more parts.
[0104] 42, a rotary shaft insertion hole 115 is provided in the carrier tape core 112, penetrating the center in the width direction (the direction in which the two flange bodies 111 face each other). A key groove (split reel key groove 115K) is formed in the insertion hole 115, protruding radially outward from the rotary shaft insertion hole 24.
[0105] When using the split reel 84 as the winding body 80, first, the second rotating shaft 53 is inserted into the insertion hole 115 of the split reel 84 (FIG. 40). At this time, the second rotating shaft key portion 53K is fitted into the split reel key groove 115K. This restricts the relative rotation of the pull-out portion winding core 61 with respect to the first rotating shaft 51, and when the second rotating shaft 53 is rotated, the split reel 84 rotates integrally with the second rotating shaft 53.
[0106] After the split reel 84 has been attached to the second rotating shaft 53, the end CTS of the carrier tape CT, which has been pulled out by the pull-out section 42, is then connected to the carrier tape core 112 of the split reel 84 with adhesive tape NT in the same manner as in the first embodiment (FIGS. 43 and 44). After the end CTS of the carrier tape CT has been connected to the carrier tape core 112 of the split reel 84 with adhesive tape NT, the operator OP operates the rewind switch 33b on the operating unit 33. This causes the second rotating shaft 53 and the first rotating shaft 51 to rotate in the same direction, and the carrier tape CT wound around the pull-out section core 61 is rewound onto the split reel 84 (FIGS. 45(a) → 45(b) → 45(c). Rewinding step).
[0107] At this time, the tape end position detector TK detects the position of the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT, and the second motor controller 34b decelerates and stops the second motor 54, as in the first, second, and third embodiments. Also, as the carrier tape CT is being wound around the take-up body (here, the split reel 84), the second motor controller 34b controls the rotation of the second motor 54 by speed control, and the first motor controller 34a controls the rotation of the first motor 52 by torque control, as in the first, second, and third embodiments.
[0108] Once the carrier tape CT is rewound onto the split reel 84 and the rotation of the second rotating shaft 53 and the first rotating shaft 51 has stopped, the starting end CTT of the carrier tape CT, which has been clamped to the pull-out section winding core 61, is removed from the pull-out section winding core 61. Once the carrier tape CT has been removed from the pull-out section winding core 61, a carrier tape roll body CTR has been produced on the split reel 84. Once the carrier tape roll body CTR has been produced in this way, the operator OP removes the split reel 84 together with the carrier tape roll body CTR from the second rotating shaft 53 (Figure 46).
[0109] This provides the carrier tape roll body CTR housed in the split reel 84. Note that the operator OP can also use the carrier tape roll body CTR alone by separating the two flange bodies 111 to split the split reel 84 as needed.
[0110] In embodiment 4 as well, the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out section 42 can be subjected to terminal processing to remove the terminal excess section SJ and then rewound by the rewinding section 43, so that a carrier tape roll body CTR that has been subjected to terminal processing can be easily manufactured.
[0111] As described above, the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 in the first to fourth embodiments includes the pull-out section 42 that pulls out the carrier tape CT from the source reel 20 to the terminal end CTS, and the rewinding section 43 that rewinds the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out section 42 from the terminal end CTS side, and is configured to remove the terminal end surplus section SJ (the area not including the components BH on the terminal end CTS side) of the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out section 42, and then rewind the carrier tape CT from the new terminal end CTS side. Therefore, the carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus 18 in the first to fourth embodiments can easily manufacture a carrier tape roll CTR that has been subjected to terminal processing.
[0112] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above and various modifications are possible. For example, the pull-out unit 42 may be configured to pull out the carrier tape CT from the original reel 20 around which the carrier tape CT is wound to the terminal end CTS, and is not limited to the configurations shown in the first to fourth embodiments. Furthermore, the rewinding unit 43 may be configured to rewind the carrier tape CT pulled out by the pull-out unit 42 from the terminal end CTS side to generate a carrier tape roll body CTR, which is a roll of carrier tape CT, and is not limited to the configurations shown in the first to fourth embodiments.
[0113] Furthermore, in embodiments 1 to 4, the original reel 20 from which the pull-out section 42 pulls out the carrier tape CT is configured to be held by a second rotating shaft 53 that is part of the carrier tape roll body manufacturing apparatus 18, and the second rotating shaft 53, which is the winding body holding section, is configured to also serve as a holding section for the original reel 20. However, instead of this configuration, a separate original reel holding section that holds the original reel 20 may be provided, and the pull-out section 42 may pull out the carrier tape CT from the original reel 20 held by the original reel holding section.
[0114] Furthermore, in the first to fourth embodiments, the configuration includes a plurality of working units 32, each including a pull-out unit 42 and a rewinding unit 43, but this is just one example, and the number of working units 32 may be one, or three or more. If there are two or more working units 32, a plurality of carrier tape roll bodies CTR can be manufactured simultaneously in parallel, but it is preferable to set the optimal number in consideration of the work efficiency of the operator OP, etc. [Industrial Applicability]
[0115] The present invention can be applied to a carrier tape roll manufacturing apparatus that manufactures a carrier tape roll that has been subjected to termination processing. [Explanation of symbols]
