Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a blocked isocyanate composition, an aqueous dispersion, a coating composition, and a coating film. This application claims priority based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2021-071725, filed on April 21, 2021, the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. [Background technology]
[0002] Coating films formed from urethane coating compositions using polyisocyanate as a curing agent have excellent chemical resistance, flexibility, etc. In particular, when polyisocyanates derived from aliphatic diisocyanates or alicyclic diisocyanates are used, the weather resistance is also excellent. Therefore, the coating films are used as room temperature curing two-component urethane coating compositions or thermosetting one-component urethane coating compositions for construction, heavy duty protection, automobiles, industrial use, and repair thereof.
[0003] In order to reduce the burden on the global environment, studies are being conducted on the development of water-based polyisocyanates, which are used as hardeners in urethane-based coating compositions. Many proposals have also been made regarding blocked polyisocyanates, which are hardeners in one-component coating compositions.
[0004] Patent Document 1 discloses that a pyrazole-blocked polyisocyanate having a specific structure can be used in a water-dispersed coating composition. Patent Document 2 discloses a water-dispersible polyisocyanate composition containing 4-isocyanatemethyl-1,8-octanemethylene diisocyanate. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

The active hydrogen group is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a mercapto group, and a carboxylic acid group.
[0073] Such a hydrophilic compound (C) is not particularly limited, but is preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of nonionic hydrophilic compounds, anionic hydrophilic compounds, and cationic hydrophilic compounds, and from the viewpoints of industrial availability and compatibility with polyols and the like used in combination, nonionic hydrophilic compounds are preferred.
[0074] (Nonionic hydrophilic compound) The nonionic hydrophilic compound is not particularly limited, but examples thereof include polyalkylene glycol alkyl ethers, etc. The polyalkylene glycol alkyl ethers have a structure represented by the following general formula (III).
[0075] [ka]
[0076] (In general formula (III), R 31 is an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 32is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and n31 is 3.0 or more and 20.0 or less.
[0077] In general formula (III), R 31 is an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms from the viewpoint of imparting hydrophilicity, and an ethylene group having 2 carbon atoms is preferable from the viewpoint of imparting greater hydrophilicity. Also, R 32 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms from the viewpoint of imparting hydrophilicity, and a methyl group having 1 carbon atom is preferable from the viewpoint of imparting greater hydrophilicity.
[0078] Polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether is not a single component, but an aggregate of substances with different numbers of n31 (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "polymerization degree n31" or simply "n31"), which indicates the degree of polymerization. Therefore, the degree of polymerization n31 is expressed as its average value. When polyisocyanate is mixed with a water-based base resin, thickening of the base resin can often be an issue. If there is a large increase in viscosity, the polyisocyanate cannot be dispersed uniformly in the base resin, which tends to lead to a decrease in the physical properties of the coating film. Therefore, from the viewpoint of water dispersibility, particle size stability during storage when made into a water dispersion, and dispersibility in the main agent, n31 is preferably 3.0 or more and 20.0 or less, more preferably 3.5 or more and 20.0 or less, even more preferably 4.0 or more and 20.0 or less, particularly preferably 5.0 or more and 20.0 or less, and most preferably 7.0 or more and 18.0 or less. When n31 is equal to or more than the lower limit, the emulsifying power increases, so that dispersibility tends to be improved, while when it is equal to or less than the upper limit, the viscosity increase is prevented, so that it tends to be more easily dispersed. The polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether may be used in combination of two or more types having different n31. The n31 of the polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether may be measured by a proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method, specifically, by the method described in the examples below.
[0079] Examples of polyalkylene glycol alkyl ethers include, but are not limited to, polyethylene glycol (mono)methyl ether, poly(ethylene, propylene) glycol (mono)methyl ether, and polyethylene glycol (mono)ethyl ether. From the viewpoint of imparting hydrophilicity, polyethylene glycol (mono)methyl ether is preferred. The number of ethylene oxide units added to the polyethylene glycol (mono)methyl ether is preferably 7.0 or more and 18.0 or less from the viewpoints of water dispersibility, particle size stability during storage when made into a water dispersion, and dispersibility in the base agent.
[0080] The number of hydroxyl groups that the polyalkylene glycol alkyl ether has is preferably one, from the viewpoint of reducing the viscosity of the blocked isocyanate composition.
[0081] In the blocked isocyanate composition of the present embodiment, the content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) is preferably 0.5% by mass or more, more preferably 15.0% by mass or more, even more preferably 18.0% by mass or more, and particularly preferably 20.0% by mass or more, based on the mass of the blocked isocyanate. On the other hand, the content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) is preferably less than 50.0% by mass, more preferably 45.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 40.0% by mass or less, based on the mass of the blocked isocyanate. The content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) is preferably 0.5 mass% or more and less than 50.0 mass%, more preferably 15.0 mass% or more and 45.0 mass% or less, even more preferably 18.0 mass% or more and 45.0 mass% or less, and particularly preferably 20.0 mass% or more and 40.0 mass% or less, based on the mass of the blocked isocyanate. When the content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) is equal to or more than the above lower limit, the water dispersibility, the particle size stability during storage when the composition is made into a water dispersion, and the chemical resistance when the composition is made into a coating film are superior. On the other hand, when the content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) is equal to or less than the above upper limit, the adhesion of the coating film containing the blocked isocyanate composition to a substrate after storage in the presence of water is more stable, and the drying property and water resistance when the composition is made into a coating film are superior. Methods for controlling the content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) within the above numerical range include, but are not limited to, a method of adjusting the compounding ratio of the hydrophilic compound (C) to the triisocyanate compound (A).
[0082] The structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) has a structure obtained by removing, from the hydrophilic compound (C), a group that has reacted with an isocyanate group of the triisocyanate compound (A). The content of the structural unit derived from the hydrophilic compound (C) relative to the mass of the blocked isocyanate is, for example, 13 It is measured by C-NMR measurement.
[0083] In the blocked isocyanate composition in which a nonionic hydrophilic compound is used as the hydrophilic compound (C), it is preferred that the composition further contains a phosphoric acid compound from the viewpoint of water dispersibility.

[0085] The acidic phosphate ester is a compound having an acidic group and an ester group. Specific examples of the acidic phosphate ester include monoalkyl phosphate, monoalkyl phosphite, monoaryl phosphate, and monoaryl phosphite having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, and dialkyl phosphate, dialkyl phosphite, diaryl phosphate, and diaryl phosphite having 4 to 16 carbon atoms. Specific examples of the dialkyl phosphate, dialkyl phosphite, diaryl phosphate, and diaryl phosphite having 4 to 16 carbon atoms include dioctyl phosphate, dilauryl phosphate, diphenyl phosphate, dilauryl phosphite, diphenyl phosphite, and the like. Among these, monoalkyl phosphates having 3 to 8 carbon atoms or dialkyl phosphates having 6 to 16 carbon atoms are preferred, and monooctyl phosphate or dioctyl phosphate is more preferred. These acidic phosphate esters may be added alone, or two or more kinds may be added together or in sequence.
[0086] From the viewpoint of water dispersibility, the content of the phosphoric acid compound is preferably 0.0001% by mass or more, more preferably 0.0002% by mass or more, and even more preferably 0.0005% by mass or more, calculated as the mass of phosphorus atoms relative to the total mass (100% by mass) of the blocked isocyanate composition. On the other hand, from the viewpoint of coating film appearance, the content of the phosphoric acid compound is preferably 1.0% by mass or less, more preferably 0.5% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.2% by mass or less, calculated as the mass of phosphorus atoms relative to the total mass (100% by mass) of the blocked isocyanate composition. Methods for controlling the phosphorus atom content within the above numerical range include, but are not limited to, a method of adjusting the compounding ratio of the phosphoric acid compound and the triisocyanate compound (A). The content of the phosphate compound can be measured, for example, by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES).
[0087] The timing of adding the phosphoric acid compound may be before, during, or after the reaction of the triisocyanate compound (A) with the nonionic hydrophilic compound. From the viewpoint of further improving the water dispersibility, it is preferable to add the phosphoric acid compound before the reaction.

[0099] In order to disperse the blocked isocyanate composition in water, modification is performed with a hydrophilic compound (C), but by not increasing the proportion of modification too much, the deterioration of the coating film properties (hardness, chemical resistance, water resistance, impact resistance) tends to be suppressed. That is, since the anionic hydrophilic compound has a high emulsifying power, a high emulsifying effect can be obtained with a small amount.
[0100] From the viewpoint of water dispersibility, the content of sulfur atoms is preferably 0.03% by mass or more, more preferably 0.05% by mass or more, and even more preferably 0.08% by mass or more, relative to the total mass (100% by mass) of the blocked isocyanate composition. Methods for controlling the sulfur atom content within the above numerical range include, but are not limited to, a method of adjusting the compounding ratio of the compound containing a sulfonic acid group to the triisocyanate compound (A). The amount of the hydrophilic compound (C) relative to the amount of the triisocyanate compound (A) (100 parts by mass) is, for example, preferably 15 parts by mass or more and 240 parts by mass or less, more preferably 42 parts by mass or more and 210 parts by mass or less, and even more preferably 60 parts by mass or more and 160 parts by mass or less. When the amount of the hydrophilic compound (C) is within the above range, the particle size stability during storage of the aqueous dispersion, the adhesion of the coating film to the substrate, impact resistance, and chemical resistance become more excellent.
[0120] In the method for producing a blocked isocyanate composition of the present embodiment, the amount of the blocking agent (D) relative to the amount of the triisocyanate compound (A) (100 parts by mass) is, for example, preferably 15 parts by mass or more, more preferably 30 parts by mass or more, and even more preferably 75 parts by mass or more. On the other hand, the amount of the hydrophilic compound (C) relative to the amount of the triisocyanate compound (A) is, for example, preferably 99 parts by mass or less, more preferably 95 parts by mass or less, and even more preferably 90 parts by mass or less. The amount of the blocking agent (D) relative to the amount of the triisocyanate compound (A) (100 parts by mass) is, for example, preferably 15 parts by mass or more and 110 parts by mass or less, more preferably 30 parts by mass or more and 95 parts by mass or less, and even more preferably 75 parts by mass or more and 90 parts by mass or less. When the amount of blocking agent (D) is within the above range, the particle size stability during storage of the aqueous dispersion, the adhesion of the coating film to the substrate, impact resistance, and chemical resistance become more excellent.
[0121] From the viewpoints of suppressing side reactions and improving production efficiency, the reaction temperature in the reaction step is preferably from −20° C. to 150° C., and more preferably from 30° C. to 120° C. In addition, in the reaction, organic metal salts such as tin, zinc, and lead; tertiary amine compounds; and alcoholates of alkali metals such as sodium may be used as catalysts.
[0122] The blocking agent (D) may be added after the reaction of the triisocyanate compound (A), the diol compound (B) and the hydrophilic compound (C), or during the reaction, or may be added simultaneously with the diol compound (B) and the hydrophilic compound (C) at the start of the reaction. Alternatively, the blocking agent (D) may be added before the start of the reaction, reacted with a part of the isocyanate groups of the triisocyanate compound (A), and then reacted with the diol compound (B) and the hydrophilic compound (C).
[0123] In the reaction step, when the blocking agent (D) is added after the reaction of the triisocyanate compound (A), the diol compound (B), and the hydrophilic compound (C), all or a part of the isocyanate groups in the triisocyanate compound (A) that have not reacted with the diol compound (B) and the hydrophilic compound (C) may be blocked, but it is preferable to block all of the isocyanate groups in the triisocyanate compound (A) that have not reacted with the diol compound (B) and the hydrophilic compound (C). When all of the isocyanate groups are blocked, the ratio of the number of moles of the blocking agent (D) to the number of functional groups (number of moles) of the isocyanate groups unreacted with the diol compound (B) and the hydrophilic compound (C) in the triisocyanate compound (A) ((number of moles of the blocking agent) / number of functional groups (number of moles) of the isocyanate groups) is preferably 1.0 to 1.5, more preferably 1.0 to 1.3, and even more preferably 1.0 to 1.2. In this case, excess or unreacted blocking agent (D) remains in the blocked isocyanate composition.
[0124] It is also preferable to completely react the hydrophilic compound (C) with the triisocyanate compound (A) so that no unreacted hydrophilic compound (C) remains, which tends to improve the aqueous dispersion stability of the blocked isocyanate composition and the curability of the coating film.
[0125] The reaction step may be carried out under solvent-free conditions, or, if necessary, in an organic solvent that is not reactive with a compound having an isocyanate group. Examples of such organic solvents include, but are not limited to, aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents such as hexane, heptane, and octane; alicyclic hydrocarbon solvents such as cyclohexane and methylcyclohexane; ketone solvents such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, and cyclohexanone; ester solvents such as methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate, methyl lactate, and ethyl lactate; aromatic solvents such as toluene, xylene, diethylbenzene, mesitylene, anisole, benzyl alcohol, phenyl glycol, and chlorobenzene; ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, 3-methyl ether acetate, ethyl ... Examples of suitable organic solvents include glycol-based solvents such as 3-methoxybutyl acetate, dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, and propylene glycol monomethyl ether; ether-based solvents such as diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, and dioxane; halogenated hydrocarbon-based solvents such as dichloromethane, 1,2-dichloroethane, and chloroform; pyrrolidone-based solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone; amide-based solvents such as N,N-dimethylacetamide and N,N-dimethylformamide; sulfoxide-based solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide; lactone-based solvents such as γ-butyrolactone; amine-based solvents such as morpholine; and mixtures thereof. These solvents may be used alone or in combination of two or more. The organic solvent can also be removed after the reaction.
[0126] <Properties of blocked isocyanate composition> In the blocked isocyanate composition of the present embodiment, the calculated isocyanate group content (calculated NCO content) of the blocked isocyanate composition is not particularly limited, but is preferably 5.0 mass% or more and 25.0 mass% or less, and more preferably 8.0 mass% or more and 20.0 mass% or less. When the calculated NCO content is equal to or more than the lower limit, the physical properties of the coating film, such as hardness, can be improved when the coating film is formed. On the other hand, when the calculated NCO content is equal to or less than the upper limit, the yield of the blocked isocyanate composition can be increased. The "calculated isocyanate group (NCO) content" referred to here is a calculated value of the ratio of the amount of isocyanate groups in the raw material isocyanate compound such as the triisocyanate compound (A) to the mass of the solid content of the blocked isocyanate composition after the blocking reaction, and is expressed as mass % of the isocyanate groups. The calculated NCO content can be calculated using the method described in the Examples below.
[0127] ≪Water dispersion≫ The aqueous dispersion of the present embodiment contains the blocked isocyanate composition and water. The blocked isocyanate composition can be made into a water dispersion by dispersing it in water.
[0128] The aqueous dispersion of this embodiment has the above-mentioned configuration, and thus can stabilize both the particle size during storage and the adhesion of a coating film containing the aqueous dispersion to a substrate.
[0129] In the aqueous dispersion of this embodiment, the average dispersed particle diameter of the blocked isocyanate composition can be 1 nm or more and 100 μm or less, preferably 10 nm or more and 500 nm or less, more preferably 10 nm or more and 200 nm or less, even more preferably 10 nm or more and 100 nm or less, and particularly preferably 10 nm or more and 50 nm or less. When the average dispersed particle diameter of the blocked isocyanate composition is within the above numerical range, the aqueous dispersion stability, the particle diameter stability during storage, and the water resistance of the coating film can all be improved. The average dispersed particle size refers to the volume average particle size of the blocked isocyanate composition dispersed in water, and can be determined by the method described in the examples below.
[0130] ≪Paint composition≫ The coating composition of the present embodiment contains the blocked isocyanate composition and a polyol.
[0131] The blocked isocyanate composition can be suitably used as a curing agent for a coating composition.
[0132] The coating composition of the present embodiment has the above-mentioned composition, and when formed into a coating film, it has excellent chemical resistance and impact resistance.
[0133] Specific examples of the polyol include polyester polyol, polyether polyol, acrylic polyol, polyolefin polyol, and fluorine polyol.
[0134] The coating composition of the present embodiment is preferably water-based.
[0135] The polyester polyol can be obtained by condensation reaction of, for example, a single or mixture of dibasic acids such as succinic acid, adipic acid, dimer acid, maleic anhydride, phthalic anhydride, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, etc., and a single or mixture of polyhydric alcohols such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, diethylene glycol, 1,4-butanediol, neopentyl glycol, 1,6-hexanediol, trimethylpentanediol, cyclohexanediol, trimethylolpropane, glycerin, pentaerythritol, 2-methylolpropanediol, ethoxylated trimethylolpropane, etc. For example, the condensation reaction can be carried out by combining the above components and heating them at about 160°C to 220°C.
[0136] Furthermore, for example, polycaprolactones obtained by ring-opening polymerization of lactones such as ε-caprolactone with polyhydric alcohols can also be used as polyester polyols.
[0137] These polyester polyols can be modified with aromatic diisocyanates, aliphatic diisocyanates, alicyclic diisocyanates, and polyisocyanates obtained therefrom. Among them, from the viewpoint of weather resistance and yellowing resistance, it is preferable to modify them with aliphatic diisocyanates, alicyclic diisocyanates, or polyisocyanates obtained therefrom. When used as a water-based base coating, a part of the carboxylic acid such as a dibasic acid is left to remain, and neutralized with a base such as an amine or ammonia, to form a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin.
[0138] Examples of polyether polyols include polyether polyols obtained by randomly or block-adding an alkylene oxide (ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, butylene oxide, cyclohexene oxide, styrene oxide, etc.) alone or in a mixture to a polyhydric hydroxy compound alone or in a mixture using a catalyst such as a hydroxide (hydroxide of an alkali metal such as lithium, sodium or potassium), a strongly basic catalyst (alcoholate, alkylamine, etc.), or a composite metal cyanide compound complex (metal porphyrin, zinc hexacyanocobaltate complex, etc.); polyether polyols obtained by reacting an alkylene oxide with a polyamine compound (ethylenediamines, etc.); and so-called polymer polyols obtained by polymerizing acrylamide or the like using these polyether polyols as a medium.

[0143] For example, the above-mentioned monomer components are solution-polymerized in the presence of a known radical polymerization initiator such as a peroxide or an azo compound, and the resulting solution is diluted with an organic solvent, etc., as necessary, to obtain an acrylic polyol.
[0144] When obtaining a water-based acrylic polyol, it can be produced by a known method such as a method of solution polymerization of an olefinic unsaturated compound and converting it into a water layer, or emulsion polymerization, etc. In this case, water solubility or water dispersibility can be imparted by neutralizing the acidic moiety of a carboxylic acid-containing monomer such as acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, or a sulfonic acid-containing monomer, etc., with an amine or ammonia.
[0145] The fluorine polyol is a polyol containing fluorine in the molecule, and examples thereof include copolymers of fluoroolefins, cyclovinyl ethers, hydroxyalkyl vinyl ethers, and monocarboxylic acid vinyl esters, etc., as disclosed in JP-A-57-34107 (Reference 5) and JP-A-61-275311 (Reference 6).
[0146] The hydroxyl value of the polyol is not particularly limited, but is preferably 10 mgKOH / g or more, more preferably 20 mgKOH / g or more, and even more preferably 30 mgKOH / g or more, while the hydroxyl value of the polyol is preferably 200 mgKOH / g or less. The acid value of the polyol is preferably from 0 mgKOH / g to 30 mgKOH / g. The hydroxyl value and acid value can be measured in accordance with JIS K1557.
[0147] The molar equivalent ratio (NCO / OH ratio) of the isocyanate group of the blocked isocyanate composition to the hydroxyl group of the polyol is preferably 0.2 to 5.0, more preferably 0.4 to 3.0, and even more preferably 0.5 to 2.0. By making the NCO / OH ratio equal to or greater than the lower limit, it is possible to obtain a coating film that is even tougher. On the other hand, by making the NCO / OH ratio equal to or less than the upper limit, it is possible to further improve the smoothness of the coating film.

[0152] <Method of producing coating composition> When producing a water-based coating composition, the water dispersion of the blocked isocyanate composition is added as a curing agent to a water dispersion or water solution of a main component containing a compound having two or more active hydrogens in the molecule, to which various additives are added as necessary, and water or a solvent is further added as necessary, followed by forced stirring with a stirring device to obtain a water-based coating composition.
[0153] When producing a solvent-based coating composition, first, various additives are added to the main component containing a compound having two or more active hydrogens in the molecule or its solvent dilution, if necessary. Next, the above-mentioned blocked isocyanate composition is added as a curing agent, and if necessary, a solvent is further added to adjust the viscosity. EXAMPLES
[0158] Hereinafter, the present embodiment will be described in more detail with reference to specific examples and comparative examples. However, the present embodiment is not limited in any way to the following examples and comparative examples as long as the gist of the present embodiment is not exceeded.
[0159] In the examples and comparative examples, the physical properties of the isocyanate compositions were measured as follows. Unless otherwise specified, "parts" and "%" mean "parts by mass" and "% by mass".
[0160] <Method of measuring physical properties> [Physical Properties 1] (Calculated NCO content rate) The NCO content (mass%) of the triisocyanate compound (A) was determined by neutralizing the isocyanate groups in the measurement sample with an excess of 2N amine and then back titrating with 1N hydrochloric acid. The NCO content [A] (parts by mass) in the triisocyanate compound (A) was calculated from the obtained NCO content (mass%) and the mass (parts by mass) of the charged triisocyanate compound (A). Next, the calculated NCO content was determined using the following formula [1].
[0161] Calculated NCO content (mass%) = 100 × [A] / (mass of solids of blocked isocyanate composition)
[0162] [Physical Properties 2] (Degree of polymerization of hydrophilic compound (C) n31) Using the blocked isocyanate composition as a sample, the degree of polymerization of the hydrophilic compound (C) (average number of repeating units of alkylene glycol) n31 was determined by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) using the following equipment and conditions: Here, the average number n31 of repeating units of alkylene glycol in the blocked isocyanate composition was determined by matching the integral value of the relative intensity corresponding to the alkylene group with the integral value of the relative intensity corresponding to the alkyl group.

[0175] <Synthesis of triisocyanate compound (A)> [Synthesis Example 1] (Synthesis of NTI(A-1)) In a four-neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, and a gas inlet tube, 1060 g of 4-aminomethyl-1,8-octamethylenediamine (hereinafter referred to as "triamine") was dissolved in 1500 g of methanol, and 1800 mL of 35 v / v% concentrated hydrochloric acid was gradually added dropwise to the solution while cooling. The solution was concentrated by removing methanol and water under reduced pressure, and dried at 60°C / 5 mmHg for 24 hours to obtain a white solid triamine hydrochloride. 650 g of the obtained triamine hydrochloride was suspended as a fine powder in 5000 g of o-dichlorobenzene, and the reaction solution was heated while stirring. When the temperature reached 100°C, phosgene was started to be blown in at a rate of 200 g / hour, and the temperature was further raised and maintained at 180°C, and phosgene was continued to be blown in for 12 hours. The dissolved phosgene and the solvent were removed under reduced pressure, and then vacuum distillation was performed to obtain 420 g of colorless and transparent 4-isocyanatemethyl-1,8-octanemethylene diisocyanate (NTI) (A-1) having a boiling point of 161 to 163°C / 1.2 mmHg. The NCO content of NTI (A-1) was 50.0 mass%.
[0176] [Synthesis Example 2] (Synthesis of LTI(A-2)) In a four-neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, and a gas inlet tube, 122.2 g of ethanolamine, 100 mL of o-dichlorobenzene, and 420 mL of toluene were placed, and ice-cooled hydrogen chloride gas was introduced to convert the ethanolamine to hydrochloride. Next, 182.5 g of lysine hydrochloride was added, and the reaction solution was heated to 80°C to dissolve the ethanolamine hydrochloride, and hydrogen chloride gas was introduced to convert it to lysine dihydrochloride. Hydrogen chloride gas was then passed through at 20 to 30 ml / min, and the reaction solution was heated to 116°C and maintained at this temperature until water was no longer distilled. The resulting reaction mixture was recrystallized in a mixture of methanol and ethanol to obtain 165 g of lysine β-aminoethyl ester trihydrochloride. 100 g of this lysine β-aminoethyl ester trihydrochloride was suspended as a fine powder in 1200 mL of o-dichlorobenzene, and the reaction solution was heated while stirring. When the temperature reached 120°C, phosgene was started to be blown in at a rate of 0.4 mol / hour, and the mixture was maintained for 10 hours, after which the temperature was raised to 150°C. The suspension was almost completely dissolved. After cooling, the mixture was filtered, and the dissolved phosgene and solvent were distilled off under reduced pressure, followed by vacuum distillation to obtain 80.4 g of colorless and transparent lysine triisocyanate (LTI) (A-2) with a boiling point of 155°C / 0.022 mmHg or more and 157°C / 0.022 mmHg or less. [0177] [Synthesis Example 3] (Synthesis of HTI (A-3)) 602 g of 1,3,6-hexamethylene tricarboxylate triethyl was reacted with hydrazine hydrate in a conventional manner to obtain 445 g of 1,3,6-hexamethylene tricarboxylate trihydrazide. The triazide was then reacted with sodium nitrite in an aqueous solution in the presence of hydrochloric acid to obtain the corresponding triazide, which was then extracted with benzene and the extract was dried. The benzene solution thus obtained was dropped into refluxing benzene for thermal decomposition. The triisocyanate obtained by distilling off the benzene was rectified under vacuum to obtain 246 g of colorless and transparent 1,3,6-hexamethylene triisocyanate (HTI) (A-3) having a boiling point of 152°C / 1.3 mmHg or more and 154°C / 1.3 mmHg or less. The NCO content of HTI (A-3) was 60.1 mass%.
[0178] <Production of blocked isocyanate composition> [Example 1] (Production of blocked isocyanate composition BI-a1 and its aqueous dispersion) A four-neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a thermometer, a reflux condenser, and a nitrogen blowing tube was placed in a nitrogen atmosphere, and 100 g of NTI (A-1) obtained in Synthesis Example 1, 44.6 g of polycarbonate diol (B-3) (manufactured by Asahi Kasei Corporation, trade name "Duranol T5650E", number average molecular weight 500), and 123.2 g of polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (trade name of Nippon Nyukazai Co., Ltd., "MPG-081") (C-1) were charged and kept at 120 ° C. for 4 hours under a nitrogen atmosphere. Then, 80.0 g of 3,5-dimethylpyrazole (D-1) was added at 80 ° C., and it was confirmed that the characteristic absorption of the isocyanate group disappeared in the infrared spectrum, and a blocked isocyanate composition BI-a1 was obtained. Thereafter, 811.7 g of water was added while maintaining the liquid temperature at 30° C. to 80° C., and the mixture was stirred and mixed for 30 minutes to obtain an aqueous dispersion containing the blocked isocyanate composition BI-a1 and water.

[0195] [Table 10]
[0196] As can be seen from Tables 6 to 9, the blocked isocyanate compositions BI-a1 to BI-a24 (Examples 1 to 24), which contain a blocked isocyanate derived from a triisocyanate compound (A) having a specific structure, a diol compound (B), a hydrophilic compound (C), and a blocking agent (D), had good dispersion stability in water, particle size stability during storage when the blocked isocyanate composition was made into an aqueous dispersion, adhesion to a substrate of a coating film containing the blocked isocyanate composition after storage in the presence of water, and also good chemical resistance and impact resistance when made into a coating film. In addition, in a comparison of blocked polyisocyanate compositions BI-a2, and BI-a7 to BI-a18 (Examples 2, and 7 to 18) which differ in the type and amount of diol compound (B), when the content of structural units derived from diol compound (B) was 11.8 mass% or more and 29.4 mass% or less, the particle size stability during storage when the blocked isocyanate composition was made into an aqueous dispersion tended to be excellent. In a comparison of blocked isocyanate compositions BI-a1 to BI-a4 (Examples 1 to 4) containing different amounts of hydrophilic compound (C), it was found that the particle size stability during storage of the blocked isocyanate composition in the form of an aqueous dispersion tended to be better as the amount of hydrophilic compound (C) increased, whereas the adhesion stability of a coating film containing the blocked isocyanate composition to a substrate after storage in the presence of water tended to be better as the amount of hydrophilic compound (C) decreased. In a comparison of blocked isocyanate compositions BI-a2, BI-a5, and BI-a6 (Examples 2, 5, and 6) having different numbers of ethylene oxide added in the hydrophilic compound (C), it was observed that the particle size stability during storage of the blocked isocyanate composition in the form of an aqueous dispersion tends to be more excellent as the number of ethylene oxide added increases. In a comparison of blocked polyisocyanate compositions BI-a4 and BI-a23 (Examples 4 and 23) containing different types of hydrophilic compounds (C), the blocked isocyanate composition BI-a4, which used C-1 as the hydrophilic compound (C), tended to have better particle size stability during storage when the blocked isocyanate composition was made into an aqueous dispersion, and better chemical resistance and impact resistance when made into a coating film. On the other hand, the blocked isocyanate composition BI-a23, which used C-4 as the hydrophilic compound (C), tended to have better adhesion stability to a substrate of a coating film containing the blocked isocyanate composition after storage in the presence of water.
[0197] On the other hand, in the case of a blocked isocyanate composition BI-b1 (Comparative Example 1) which does not use a diol compound (B) and contains a blocked isocyanate derived from a triisocyanate compound (A) having a specific structure, a hydrophilic compound (C), and a blocking agent (D), the dispersion stability in water, the particle size stability during storage when the blocked isocyanate composition is made into an aqueous dispersion, the adhesion stability to a substrate of a coating film containing the blocked isocyanate composition after storage in the presence of water, and the impact resistance when made into a coating film were all poor. In addition, in the case of a blocked isocyanate composition BI-b2 (Comparative Example 2) containing a blocked isocyanate derived from an other isocyanate compound A'-1, which is an HDI-based polyisocyanate, instead of the triisocyanate compound (A), a diol compound (B), a hydrophilic compound (C), and a blocking agent (D), the impact resistance of the coating film was poor. [Industrial Applicability]

The coating composition of the present embodiment contains the blocked isocyanate composition, and has excellent chemical resistance and impact resistance when made into a coating film. The coating composition of the present embodiment is suitably used for, for example, automotive coatings, building exterior coatings, fiber treatment agents, pressure sensitive adhesives, heat dissipation agents, film coating agents, etc.
